The studio version of this is worth reacting to as well. The drums and the rest of the band come in halfway through and really elevate the song into the stratosphere.
This sounded EXACTLY like the studio version..........lifeless, terrible performance........almost like he did not even want to be there. Boring, drab, awful.......mundane, pedestrian performance.
Besides the Beatles I dont know any other Artist who created this huge range of songs. And one of them is more incredible then the other (just listen to his first 2 solo albums, they are fireworks) and all this was done after a huge carrier with Genesis. This is simply mind blowing and some would need 10 Lifes to cover all this! For me he is absolutely genious and it could cost one a decade starting from scratch to fully understand his whole musical lifetime artwork. History written in stone! Thank you Mr. Collins for gifting us with so much joy and so many great hours that makes our life much less weight. God bless!
I lost the person who is without question the love of a lifetime...all these years later I struggle to make it through this song. It brings fond memories and the bittersweetness of what never was.
"It's in your eyes" is one of his most beautiful songs. As well as "I can't stop loving you", "You'll be in my heart", "I can't dance" (Genesis) and of course "Another day in Paradise". Anyone of these still not heard should be a next listen, and if they bring you disappointment, it's against all odds.
'The Same Moon', 'Come With Me', 'Every Day', 'Both Sides Of The Story', 'If Leaving Me Is Easy', 'Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away', 'Why Can't It Wait Till Morning', 'I Missed Again', 'You Know What I Mean', the list goes on and on and on....
There were quite a few memorable performances at Live Aid '85 besides Queen... Phil Collins was touring for the 1st time as a solo artist outside of Genesis that year... He's from England, FYI 😁 Status Quo delivered what was to be their last performance and started the concert - they decided instead to carry on after Live Aid '85 after firing original bassist Alan Lancaster and the drummer. Madonna also did a great performance... Sting ... and David Bowie were also big hits on those days. More Phil Collins songs - "I don't care anymore" ... "Don't lose my number" ... 'Do you remember?' ... 'Easy lover' (feat. Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire) ... 'Both sides of the story'... 🔥🔥
Great reaction! I always wonder what Phil would be like without his musical outlet he uses to share his pain and experiences with us - his fans - who most have experienced the same things he has. So the genius is he sings a sad song but the sharing of it with us and us giving back our appreciation gives a little smile and glint of hope. Phil's first 2 albums are filled with the pain of his divorce. We are here for you Phil and you will always be a big part of our lives.
Thank you Inna for reacting to this #1 Billboard Hit nominated for an Academy Award & a Golden Globe Award. Highly recommend "HOME BY THE SEA" when Phil Collins was with Genesis. Also "SILENT RUNNING" by Mike & The Mechanics (Mike Rutherford of Genesis).
Fine reaction. He's an amazing singer, an amazing artist - he plays the piano, he plays drums... And he started his career as member of a legendary band, Genesis. And it's a Genesis song I got to recommend to you, a song that I love - "That's all" - he sings it perfectly - "a chef's kiss"! 😅 At least, in my opinion! (I suggest the official music video)
Phil Collins is incredible. Definitely do more Phil Collins/Genesis. Another singer from the 80's with an amazing voice is Steve Perry of the band Journey. Check Journey out. I suggest starting with Faithfully, Separate Ways, Open Arms, Don't Stop Believing. You will love his voice.
One of my all time favorite Genesis songs was 'Abacab', in particular, the live version from the '3 sides Live' album. The 2nd half of the song is all instrumental. I think 'Against All Odds' may have been written for a movie soundtrack, but I could be mistaken.
@alexthorpe6583 - 'Abacab' in either the studio album version or the live one from '81 is also my own favourite Genesis song 😊 I used to suspect that it had been a major inspiration for Van Halen's 'Jump!' - Same key, same tempo, similar drums and bass, a catchy synth riff... and then I found out 'Jump!' was inspired by a Hall & Oates song! 😄
It must be said that Phil was a great drummer too. By the way, about the Live Aid: I can remember pretty well different gigs, but the greatest, I think, have been the Queen and U2 ones. Of course, Phil Collins part has been unforgettable: he sung the same songs at the same hour in London and Philadelphia, thanks to the Concord and the different time zones ❤
Oh man, the auto-generated subtitles are hilarious! 😂 "Just let you leave without the trees" instead of "without a trace" 😆 I remember watching this live on TV, on a beautiful, very warm Summer day 😊☀️ Poor Phil writes in his biography that he felt very embarrassed for the boo-boo he'd made on the piano after the first verse 😅
@@annstevens6223 - I agree, and that boo-boo _has to be_ in that performance, just like Kurt Cobain's during his guitar solo in the 'Unplugged' cover version of Bowie's 'The Man Who Sold The World' 😊 So much is fake nowadays, and not only when it comes to Music! 😏 A video I watched on the _Wings Of Pegasus_ channel last night revealed that even someone like The Eagles is faking it, and in their case by miming this year to the same pre-recorded vocal tracks from last year's shows! 😳
Inna - he's English, from London. His solo has been excellent, and his stuff with Genesis equally impressive. Re Captions - I can't understand why they would caption in English anyway - if you understand the language, the cations ar ejusta distraction. If you don't understant the language, they are no help anyway - especially when they effectively butcher a beautiful song. PS You're clearly a romantic! :) x
This is impromptu, a good sample. The better and more complete version is the movie video of "Against all odds" showing the movie scenes. My favorite song of Phil Collins.
Collins can sing ballads like no other. More please. Here is one that is wonderful but that he did not put on an album. It is beautiful and meaningful. Look at: "It's Over".
You asked for suggestions so check out Genesis-Firth of Fifth 2007 concert in Rome with Phil on drums and vocals …well worth a few minutes of your time in my opinion
The piano was Freddie Mercury Originally written in his coach on tour for the movie Against All Odds It took him half an hour He hates singing this on the piano.
I love your reactions and insights! If you like good lyrics and good music, may I suggest a song from Kansas called "Dust in the Wind". Blessings to all.
If you're looking for good love songs, check out, Kenny Rogers: "Lady". Here is the link to the original song. ( ruclips.net/video/ZYRfUoR9Q4Y/видео.html ) 😉
What a difference.....dull, boring Phil Collins performance that sounds exactly like the song on the LP. Compare this mundane drab, boring performance to the electric, unreal, incredible performance b QUEEN at Live Aid............no wonder they (Queen) stole the show !!!
It is a great ballad by Phil but do not watch the movie this song was part of becaus ethat one really really sucked. btw .. Phil first performed in London for Live Aid then he got into a Concorde and flew to Philadelphia to perform there as well.
I love the little smile Phil gave when he goofed on the piano near the start 😄
Phil played Wembley London jumped on concord and played in Philadelphia on the same day
What?! Omg that’s incredible!
In 91, I received my degree from Phil Collins at Berklee College of Music, where he received an Honory Doctorate.
He is definitely 1 cool, dude.
Phil Collins is unafraid of emotion and expresses it so honestly in all his music. Uniquely talented. Quiet strength. Love the guy.
Phil Collins was born in England. This song is the title track of a movie that I really like. Great reaction. Take care....
Welcome to the era when no Auto tune, no crappy lyrics. Just talent, lyrics real life and manual music edit analogue. Easy hit to the heart isn't it?
The studio version of this is worth reacting to as well. The drums and the rest of the band come in halfway through and really elevate the song into the stratosphere.
I really like the video with excerpts from the Against All Odd movie. Phil’s performance is heartbreaking.
I always imagine that the crowd added their own drum sounds 😊
This sounded EXACTLY like the studio version..........lifeless, terrible performance........almost like he did not even want to be there. Boring, drab, awful.......mundane, pedestrian performance.
Phil Is almost perfect in his live performances.
No surprises

Those captions are HILARIOUS lol
Just a man and his piano entertaining a crowd of over 70,000.
89,000 in Philly, 72,000 at Wembley and 1.5 Billion live on the tele.
I lost the person who is without question the love of a lifetime...all these years later I struggle to make it through this song.
It brings fond memories and the bittersweetness of what never was.
This performance was great; that whole day was; but you should really react to the album version, as well; it's amazing!
"I Wish it Would Rain Down" by Phil Collins is a great song. Eric Clapton plays guitar on it as well.
"It's in your eyes" is one of his most beautiful songs. As well as "I can't stop loving you", "You'll be in my heart", "I can't dance" (Genesis) and of course "Another day in Paradise". Thats so good. Even with the clam.

This was the title theme from a movie of the same name from 1984...
Great song by Phil. The movie (Against All Odds) is awesome also.
Absolutely right. Steve Perry has the most wonderful voice. 💖
I would recommend one more night, and you'll be in my heat for great slow phil collins songs

im yet there inna lol
On this day Phil Collins played both live aid concerts , 1st in London then got on concord to Philadelphia and played this one .

the legend Phil Collins. I grew up listening to his music from the early 80s
These lyrics are Very Powerful!!!❤
An amazing artist!
Oh man, the auto-generated subtitles are hilarious! 😂 "Just let you leave without the trees" instead of "without a trace" 😆
I remember watching this live on TV, on a beautiful, very warm Summer day 😊☀️
Poor Phil writes in his biography that he felt very embarrassed for the boo-boo he'd made on the piano after the first verse 😅
His boo boo makes it even better, this was 100% live Phil with a mic and a piano.
Before auto tune and all the BS that’s in pop music today.
@@annstevens6223 - I agree, and that boo-boo _has to be_ in that performance, just like Kurt Cobain's during his guitar solo in the 'Unplugged' cover version of Bowie's 'The Man Who Sold The World' 😊

Such a great song! Much impact!
That look you give to camera at 2:40 is beautiful and makes me tearful.

When a heart is open
Beautiful happens
Collins can sing ballads like no other. More please. Here is one that is wonderful but that he did not put on an album. It is beautiful and meaningful. Look at: "It's Over".
What you and many may not know is that nearly all of Phil Collin's 1980's hits were about his ex-wife and their bitter divorce.
Not sure if you’ve heard it yet, but there’s a song by Phil Collins called “Do You Remember?”, and it would be great to see your reaction to that one.
You asked for suggestions so check out Genesis-Firth of Fifth 2007 concert in Rome with Phil on drums and vocals …well worth a few minutes of your time in my opinion
Thank you very much for the suggestion 😊
"Just let you leave without the trees..." Lmao 🤣 Captions be captions...
The piano was Freddie Mercury
Originally written in his coach on tour for the movie
Against All Odds
It took him half an hour
He hates singing this on the piano.
*You come across as very friendly*
I love your reactions and insights! If you like good lyrics and good music, may I suggest a song from Kansas called "Dust in the Wind". Blessings to all.
Well, for anything else, a sort of Collins song, but with his former band Genesis: listen to "Land of Confusion". Silly music video but awesome song!
I think Phil's love songs are from his personal life so they are from the heart
Take Me Home is my favourite song from him.
I now suggest you watch the movie, Against all Odds for context
You REALLY need to listen to this song as recorded to get the full impact of emotion!
Those captions were something. So much for AI.
we raced so many rv cars together
You need to he’s Don Henley’s “Taking You Home’
Beautiful ❤
Check out "Another Day in Paradise" and the video that goes with it. Also, "What It's Like" by Everlast.
Check out "In Too Deep" with him singing and drumming for Genesis, more of a break up song but similar
He was so hot back in the day and talented! Studio version is amazing!
1:38 He's from London, you may have heard of it lol
There´s 2 songs from the same artist that i would like to recommend you,
Artist: Ten Sharp
Songs: "You" and "Fly away"
The song is from the movie Against All Odds which is about a love triangle with first male lover asking women whats it going to take to get you back
Original video from the movie: ruclips.net/video/SWSQS06i7-w/видео.html
Please please react to Piano Man by Billy Joel. Its lyrics are amazing!
I will recommend James Blunt singing "Monsters" original video for a listen and review.
❤ 🎶 👏 👏 👏
The CV car brought a tear to my eye....lol
A 2CV maybe?
It’s a London accent…
I have to admit I get embarrassed when people cv car 😂
If you're looking for good love songs, check out, Kenny Rogers: "Lady". Here is the link to the original song. ( ruclips.net/video/ZYRfUoR9Q4Y/видео.html ) 😉
RUclips close caption 😅😅😂😂
He’s English
the closed captioning of the lyrics is wrong in some places.
Something happened on the way to heaven
Try "Whitesnake - Soldier Of Fortune (Official Video)" amazing song.
Your great! I was having a bad day. You put put me in a good place! ✌❤🎶🎶❤✌
Thank you so much for your this comment, it makes me so happy ❤️❤️
You should really watch the Movie by the same name. This song of course is in it.
If you are into good lirycs than react to Phil Collins' "You Know What I Mean"... You'll know what I mean.
PLEASE REACT..phil collins - sussudio 👍👍👍👍
That's his cheesiest and worst song.
i think its a genesis tune mate
@@MrApocalyptica83 yup👍
Turn off those captions they are NOT accurate!
No but they are really funny 😅
I approve of both of these messages!!
What a difference.....dull, boring Phil Collins performance that sounds exactly like the song on the LP. Compare this mundane drab, boring performance to the electric, unreal, incredible performance b QUEEN at Live Aid............no wonder they (Queen) stole the show !!!
Auto-close captions suck. Just turn it off and put out the lyrics from another web page. More of a distraction, clearly here.
The close captions ABSOLUTELY RUINED the experience. 😢
Lamentable la desafinación al comienzo. Ya en el 85 no estabas para eso Phill.
tickler for me now everybody.
It is a great ballad by Phil but do not watch the movie this song was part of becaus ethat one really really sucked. btw .. Phil first performed in London for Live Aid then he got into a Concorde and flew to Philadelphia to perform there as well.
Oooh really? I’ll check at least the trailer of the song
Cc did not help..lol
Those captions are atrocious lol
INNA, CIAO! CHE NE DICI SE REAGISCI ALLA CANZONE DEI " THUNDER" " LOVE WALKED IN" ?
Hail to the king by Avenged Sevenfold
Those captions are appalling! So far away from what is being sung. Great song though... and a great artist.
you is very beautiful
May I?
You are so cute and wonderful as a vocale coach
Such a great song.....please don't follow the lyrics on the screen. Pure lunacy🤣🤣👎👎👎👎
i eard that he is a drummer for sure i just eard a false note at the piano lol
Phil collins said He was so bothered by the missed piano note at this performance he stopped playing this song live for many years.
Should he turned ridiculous CCs off total waste of time.
A wow moment??? it sounded like he lip synced the whole thing from the radio !!!! Terrible, lifeless performance.
She talks alot my goodness just play the music
