This song is so well constructed and performed. I enjoy the crowd taking part helping with the beat. I believe the entire world knows the chorus to this song. Plus most folks play air-drums with Phil when he sits down with his kit. A point you drive home when you smile real big and play your air drums. I am would love to seen this concert....

There's something uniquely perfect about this performance of this song. The way the layers of the song come in one after another. The way Phil paces the stage. The look on his face. @Hicky Hicky tastes differ which is alright. Genesis is and always will be my most favourite band, they have been since 1976 when I got money for my 9th birthday and bought A Trick Of The Tail which they’d released some weeks earlier. I became a die-hard fan and later a serious collector.

How can anyone over 10 years old be a musician without ever hearing this tune before? Really, is this the FIRST time reaction to a legendary song like this?!!
I love watching people react to this video. It always delivers and you can see each individual emotionally drained after this performance. I haven't seen many performances that I can say that about but this one.....let me put it this way. If this performance doesn't leave you emotionally drained then you don't have any emotions... now imagine what it must have been like to be there.
I am not a hardcore fan of Phil Collins but had mad respect for him as a musician, creator and artist. To put an example he composed (with Mark Mancina) Disney's Tarzan soundtrack and recorded the lyrics (of all of them) in English, Italian, German, Spanish, and French versions, mind you he does not speak any of these languages besides English and was already half deaf by then. Mad respect for Mr Phil Collins.
Check out the recent performances of Phil with his son, Nic on drums. The kid's definitely heading in the right direction with his skills. Sorry to hear Phil is in such poor health these days, though. The man is a legend on the kit!
I have to say I've seen about 40 reactions to this... and you are definitely in my top three favorite reactors... like someone else said you didn't interrupt the drum solo, you didn't constantly hit the pause button... and you saved your reaction till the end.... and you're cute as a button.. if I could I'd fix you up with my son you seem like a real sweetheart.. Bravo to Phil.. Bravo to you.. and glory to God for giving Phil such an amazing gift

I first heard this song watching the pilot episode of Miami Vice. That is a badass scene and you can find it on RUclips. It still gives me goosebumps to this day listening to it.
This song like so many of the great 80s songs Stand the test of time and will never go away. The fact that they actual sang rhe songs live with no help fron the tech world compared to so many of the artist of today says everything about the talent these people have.
I don’t know, I mean shakira has some classics that show her Elton John like talent that kids 100 tears from now will be listening to, like “ my hips don’t try” or “Whacka whacka Do Do”.
Best reaction I've seen on RUclips, most reactors they keep stopping the video to critic it, you let it play through and you got deep into the sound, music and lyrics. You felt it and it took you in a music trance, love it, best reaction yet!
If Alfred Hitchcock would have written a song... This song is like the shower scene from Psycho: Even if you know, what's coming, it still works perfectly. The building up of the tension and the eruptive drum solo relief is just amazing storytelling in sound.

get cornwall speakers. at 60 volume its already loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear the music
More bigger reference speakers Needed!...
@@peaceonearth8693 doesn't work! You just end up breaking the knob off!👀😳💥
i have learned the value of a really good amp with upgraded capacitors. when a solid state amp goes flatline it is usually the feedback resistor which just lets unlimited current back into the loop which starts the chain. rip technics su-z1. yamaha natural sound 7.1 is a beast if you configure subwoofers to 8 ohm.
Best memory. Driving 2 o'clock in the morning down the highway, warm summer night, windows down, no traffic, moonlit. Song just loud enough.
He is a legend forever ...
Timing is in a master musicians soul. Walks around the entire stage sing and makes it to the drums at the exact moment to start playing. Amazing
I went to the show in 2019 ..... bucket list. This was the only song he stood up for. My wife, a former performer said sitting down and being able to sound good is near impossible.
Looking at the crowd 🥰, no phone’s blocking the stage 🤗 everyone in the moment, and wow what a moment to be in .
Chills every time I see this , and the reactions are always great to see x
The build-up for this live version is a killer 🥁🥁
Listening to this song is such a cathartic release. It's simply amazing.
I saw this same performance live in Florida on his "First Final Farewell Tour"...simply AMAZING in person...the whole show was fantastic!!!! He ran around stage without seeming to get tired at all...and actually SANG (not synced like most current stars) and he sounds exactly like his albums in person....this is a legend for sure :) *if you aren't doing the drums with him by the end, there's something wrong with you hahaha
I read an comment on another reacter site. That person said he had watched this video 100's of times. But Phil arrives at the drum kit at the exact right time to do his thing. I think the entire world knows this rift. And they play air-drums to it, just like you. WELL. it is memorial. This is a treasure as is Phil....
100mph, dark highway, midnight, 16 years old. I think of when I did that listening to this song. Still feel like I'm there every time I hear it. The drums out of nowhere is the greatest part of ANY song EVER
So identify. Different age, but dark highway, 80 mph, windows down, midnight, heart pounding, beach bound.
You did it right. Watching the official version first gives you the ground to stand on. Then you feel the artists manipulation of the live audience, and enjoy the entertainment they are offering. Love you and your reactions. This is a great song.
There's something uniquely perfect about this performance of this song. The way the layers of the song come in one after another. The way Phil paces the stage. The look on his face. The tension and anticipation in the crowd. Even the way the video of this performance is shot.
If you want another of the great live performances to react to: Pearl Jam - Black on MTV Unplugged.
First time commenter to your channel, and OMG the vibrancy and emotion you put into your video wow, you're so visual and amazing, and your accent is to die for, I was lost for words.
Your reactions are fantastic! Felt the chills myself. What a performance
One of the most iconic songs ever written!!!!! Drum-drop heaven!
*You know someone is a super star when they have Gandalf The Grey on bass!!*
That's the most epic beard I've ever seen
That's Leland Sklar. One of the world's greatest players. Along with all of Phils band.
Imagine he's saying "YOU SHALL NOT BASS" and then BAM! His bass glowing and shine as he turn floor into lava and Mt Mordor explode on back ground
During the intro., was that admiration I saw on your face. Just before the first chills. This song is so well constructed. I have heard it 1000's of times. It just gets better and better. Phil and this band is so darn GOOD. I love the vocoder..
I subscribed because you did not interrupt or talk over the video. Thank You 😊 Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
I read one comment in which the person stated Phil walked all over the stage. But he times it that he gets to the drums at just the right time. Then he lays down one of the most well known drum rifts ever. This is special. Very well done. Thank you for the review and your air-drums....
Music can paint pictures in your mind. One word : epic! Great choice as well. Keep them coming. 😇
This is a true LEGEND at work. Phil is a world class drummer who can really sing. He is a music ICON and a true great person. I could listen to this all day long it will never get old. One of the greatest performances from any musician any where any time. This is IMMORTAL!!!
Check out his stuff with Genesis
I will recommend Genesis - In The Cage (Live in Rome 2007)
DEFINITELY!!
Rome 2007 is brilliant
Dam stright
@Hicky Hicky tastes differ which is alright. Genesis is and always will be my most favourite band, they have been since 1976 when I got money for my 9th birthday and bought A Trick Of The Tail which they’d released some weeks earlier. I became a die-hard fan and later a serious collector.
You can't help get the chills when you watch this video. He's so awesome!!! Fell in love with this song when it come out. I had to go out to buy this vinyl record album for my collection. 💞💞💞
How can anyone over 10 years old be a musician without ever hearing this tune before? Really, is this the FIRST time reaction to a legendary song like this?!!
It's her first time reacting to THIS version. She has stated at least twice she's done a reaction to this original version/video.
So hard to sing and play the drums so well together. 😍😍😍😍
You have a sensitive wonderful soul that feels all the nuances. So beautiful to see.
Mad respect for Mr Phil Collins.
timeless and addictive. love Phil's little bow at the end. NOW we need more Phil, more Peter (Gabriel), and MORE GENESIS!
I saw Genesis The Lamb Lies Down concert when Phil Collins was a drummer Before Peter Gabriel left and have seen Genesis so many times.. how I would have loved to have been a part of this concert... again fantastic job reacting I wish most other reactors would react as you do... Bravo to Phil.. Bravo to you.. and glory to God for giving Phil such an amazing gift
During the live aid concert ,he did this number but used the echo in the stadium like an echo plex, too cool for words.
You know what. It’s a like for me! Nice job. I like watching the reaction when Phil hits the kit and keeps his vocal tone consistent! Not an easy thing to do! Such different areas in the musical space covered! Timing and whimsical vocal at the same time!
I don't care anymore from live at Perkins Palace is a must!!!
Masterpiece!!!!!!!! Masterpiece........ So good. You got chills several times. This is how we know we are still alive. I love how much the audience is in to it.
Be it Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel - masterpieces and awesome live shows all the way ♥
Ah genesis
Thank you , thank you , thank you for just listening and watching and feeling the music. Thank you for not making it all about yourself as so many reactors do. Very enjoyable.
I love your genuine reaction a lot! I would have loved to seen/live that performance live with you! I love it when someone really appreciates the talent and magic of a good show.
I was lucky to see him live in Memphis Tennessee, and it's real!
Who doesn't want to play air drums when Phil does his drum solo on this song.
I am watching this video of Phil for two weeks over and over again, and still getting excited every time.
This video of Phil Collins doing this song has over 104,000,000 Views
20k of those are me sorry
Always in debt with my father for bringing me to see Phil Collins in Barcelona when I was just 8 years old. My first big concert.....unforgettable.
If Alfred Hitchcock would have written a song...
This song is like the shower scene from Psycho: Even if you know, what's coming, it still works perfectly. The building up of the tension and the eruptive drum solo relief is just amazing storytelling in sound.
40 Years since I first heard it and I still can´t resist to airdrum listening to it Nice to see you couldn´t either 😊
