Gutted that we reacted to the "wrong" version. This is the one we were sent and requested to react to first. We'll be sure to react to the other in the next few weeks. Give ourselves some time.
Don't worry about it, there's that many different version out there but you'll definitely love the other version. Keep up the good work, really enjoy it.
This is an earlier version. And still Phil Collins greatness. But there's a later version where he PERFECTED this performance and made it legendary. You need to react to the BETTER version of this.
No matter what version you show it's still a great live performance. The timing is always perfect when he walks up to his drums. You're getting quite good at this reaction game!
I just love you two - you're so natural and likeable, and present so very well. What a great video choice of the 'pensioner', Phil Collins. Loved it. Cheers. Sheffield South Yorkshire.
While I was expecting the other live performance I was happy to see this one. I haven't seen this performance before. Such an amazing song to see live. He sure knows how to command a stage.
Phil Collins started off as the drummer for Genesis when lead singer Peter Gabriel left to go solo. Phil stepped in as lead singer and they did some great songs before he too went solo. Well worth listening to.
FUN FACTS…Written bc of Divorce, Cheating, & Phil was pissed! Most people don’t know Phil is left handed. So his drums are set up exactly backwards of “normal”. The reason you don’t see them until he gets to them, is bc they are on risers under the stage. They are timed perfectly for when he gets there. He has retractable sticks (barely perceivable straps around wrist). He doesn’t have to reach for them, like most drummers do bc they weee already with him! No flow interruption! Then he just lets it fly! I am a subscriber bc I love what you do. You are very good at it. I’ll be back!
This is not the usual live version people react to, BUT, this is also a damn fine version. The other one, frankly, is a little bit on the distorted side, but it does sound bigger, his drum sound is definitely bigger. I'd never seen this one before, and I do, like it too. It's just a good song by a killer performer, so it's kind of hard to go wrong. But thanks for turning me onto another live version I'd not seen.
You guys ROCK... Giving the audience the full screen and you remaining postage stamps... SO COOL 😎... WE GET TO EXPERIENCE THE VISUAL IMPACT WHICH IS 100% OF THIS PARTICULAR SPOT and we still get to enjoy your reactions...1st CLASS ALL the WAY 💕🙋🌹GA USA 🇺🇸✌️
Brilliant performance by Phil Collins as always. Such a classic tune..how can you not love it. I’m gonna keep requesting Dire Straits - Telegraph Road Alchemy Live. 😊 pls do this one …It will blow your minds 🔥🔥
I saw Genesis live when Peter Gabriel was lead singer and Phil was 'just' the drummer, when Peter left Phil took over as lead vocalist...I'm old..lol. Peter is worth checking out too.😊✌🇬🇧
As a drummer of Genesis, he became the lead singer. THAT IS SO IMPRESSIVE! Drumming is one of the hardest instruments to play because of the different rythms and to then also sing? Man....
OH thankyou! I have been a huge fan of of Phil Collins since before Genesis, aswell as being a great drummer he is also a fine actor...... makes you sick! haha!!! dont worry Jess, well done. Thankyou both😃
I worked on one of his shows when it toured the arenas. He is genuinely a lovely bloke. This format is called 'in the round,' where the stage is set up in the middle of the arena.
@treintje1001: rather than being such a smart arse, why don”t you share the results of your homework with the rest of us? Tell us which is the video that most of us we’re expecting?
@@treintje1001 - Right city, wrong year. The video that everyone is referring to is from his 'Finally ... The First Farewell tour in 2004, the video reviewed here is from "Live and Loose in Paris" - in 1997
Wow, guys. Great observations and reactions. The honest sincere raw emotion you both showed was wonderful to see. I think it's a performance that does inspire and illicit this kind of response and you both did it justice. Great respect from you both 🎉. Keep safe and look after each other.
I saw some Genesis concerts but the ones that left the biggest impression on me were the ones when Peter Gabriel was still the lead singer. A real showman.
Phil Collins is amazing live. I have seen him multiple times, solo and with Genesis. "I don't care anymore" live at Perkins Palace, angry Phil is a great Phil.
😮 Awesome reaction you guys! I also want to give you kudos for your screen that we see the video through! I didn’t expect it would be so big! I felt like I was in a theater😊❤ Thanks for that and your epic reaction! I'll be back 🥰
It was still a great reaction guys. An absolutely iconic song by a vastly underrated artist by a lot of us Brits. If memory serves me right(which isn't a given nowadays😂) I think I bought this in 1981 and it still sounds great.✌😁👍
This is an older live concert. You should be watching the newer one. But, you cannot go wrong with Phil Collins. He is absolutely amazing. He has such a clean voice. And he has a God-given talent when it comes to instruments. He can play any instrument, if you give him a couple of minutes.
Phil was a great singer and drummer!!! He was also Lead Singer of the iconic English Rock Band GENESIS and you should check out him singing the song TURN IT ON AGAIN with GENESIS and sadly due to poor health Phil has retired.
I've seen Phil live in concert 7 times and that song just doesn't grow old or fail to make an impact when you see it live. ❤ Another banger of a drum song off that same album with that effect is "Hand in Hand" crank the volume up on that and try keep still.(and brass to die for) 😂
A brilliant reaction to this song I appreciate how hard it is to sing and drum at the same time, he wrote this song while he was going through a bitter divorce, I think his son also played drums in this song, this is very much different to the other version of this song that other reactions anilise, i haven't found a bad version of this song, take care.
A very good reaction. Mike is a solid host with a lot of character. Jess is a woman with great empathy, very well spoken, very intelligent and of course Very Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. Mike you're a very lucky man. 🐎🌵🥰
Speaking of people not having the attention span for something like this: this is literally musical foreplay. The climax (hehe) is made so much better by the buildup. You can’t fully appreciate this kind of thing without that beautiful buildup.
During lockdown i reconnected with music. I loved phil and genesis. Please if you could maybe do stairway to heaven live from maddison square garden one day.
Hi guys, me again love the content sat in the front room. Phil Collins burst into the room with me. Haven’t listened to this for a long time so I sent this to you my favourite advert of all time. I hope you enjoy it. Take care both kindest regards, Chris.
I saw him do this years ago in Memphis it was great. I also saw him play drums for Robert Plant while he was doing his solo tour. Phil only played drums and sang backup vocals.
I can never get tired of watching reaction videos to this song. And I especially loved Mike and Jess seeing it. Perfect! I do recommend watching another live vide where the drummer is the singer. You should definitely check out The Eagles playing Hotel California.
^^This^^ , this was the best version because not only do have this kick-ass track but the cinematic gloriousness of MV at the same time. I remember seeing it when they first broadcast it, it was EPIC.
Not only is he a terrific writer and musician he is an incredibly generous man. He donated over 400 personal items to support the revitalization of the Alamo in San Antonio
The first band that Phil Collins was in and that had a recording deal was Flaming Youth in the late 60s. I know this as my cousin was also a band member
I love the showmanship of the artists in the 90s. I would recommend Peter Gabriel performing In your Eyes from the Secret Garden tour. They also play on a circular stage, I think it really gives the crowd more engagement.
I guess many people expected to see the version in the First Farewell tour in Paris. That's all good but everyone has their own favorite version. For me that's from the Seriously tour in Berlin in 1990. I had the official VHS tape of the concert that I played so many times that the tape stretched too much. ;)
Oh Sweet! I've seen so many of these that I thought you'd covered this ages back! He was a child actor before becoming a musician (but did act in a few things as an adult) and that shows in the "it's all been a pack of lies" stare lol His book Not Dead Yet is a fascinating read Watching now, but know this'll be a good-en! Cheers as always guys!
Well, a few might say it's not the right one (rabble rabble rabble!) but I've not seen this tour segment before and I like it for it's own slightly different style and setting. And when you guys were jointly thinking "the inside of a spaceship" I was thinking "Phil Live From The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Studio!" lol and it turned out to be a giant boat deck! rofl Thanks again! 'triffic!
Every time I hear this song it brings back memories of the Miami Vice series with Sonny and Tubbs cruising down the boulevard in the Testarossa heading to a drug bust that's not expected to end well.

The other version is sooooooooooo much better , what a shame , I would have loved to watch your reaction to the other version.
Paris version 2004 the best.
Amazing performance, a Big Phil Collins 👏
There is no wrong version the song is brilliant
Don't worry, no such thing as a "wrong version" of this song, great stuff as always folks!
Go and see Phil Collins with Genesis, Wembley stadium singing Mama... Awesome, as Always, with Phil, a kind and so talented artist..
This is an earlier version. And still Phil Collins greatness. But there's a later version where he PERFECTED this performance and made it legendary. You need to react to the BETTER version of this.
WOW, not seen that version of Phil Collins, In the Air tonight. Thank you! It's not the best, but the second best.
It’s Paris 2004 version you need to watch it’s epic
*Nah, the Berlin 1990 version is the best version.*

The very, very best version of this is his 2004 Paris concert. That puts this version in the dark….

Phil is the best and always will be
love the musicality of Phil Collins and love your reaction as well. thanks...unforgettable song and performance
love the way you show the full size of pic , thank you.
Phil was the best!!!☺🥰
This is a great live version of the song in its own right - in fact prefer this to the other
You two should listen/ watch Phil Collins singing - Mama.
Uncle Phil! Man single-handedly made Miami Vice! OK, that and Don Johnson’s wardrobe
I saw him play this live in Toronto... there are just no words. It's legendary.
So there IS a word and that word is legendary?😊

Watch the cadbury ad . something in the air .Not for a reaction just for a smile
Omg, I love ❤️ that Cadbury ad!!
I saw Genesis live when Peter Gabriel was lead singer and Phil was 'just' the drummer, when Peter left Phil took over as lead vocalist...I'm old..lol. Peter is worth checking out too.😊✌🇬🇧

The word "Legend" is used too often to describe performers these days BUT NOT when it comes to Phil Collins!
The final farewell tour version is the BEST live version ever....
i love her reaction
Apart from playing the drums brilliantly ! He can play almost any instrument and he's not a bad actor 😮🎉 One in a million is right 👍
Great reaction, Jess and Mike! I've not seen this particular live video performance before. Thank you!
I got to see Phil in London. Amazing night, videos don't do him justice.
Love a lot of your reactions and particularly Jess's laugh
18 years old in my 1st car, Raybans on, Phil Collins on full volume 😎
Exactly the same in my Ford Cortina!!!
Totally Awesome Live!!!
The live version of this song in Paris is much better in my opinion.
I agree.
This IS the live version in Paris. Do your homework.
