    It seems like a nice machine. I think it was definitely a good power play on their part to try and compete with Polaris.

    Looks amazing......
    But some misses in my books
    1. 10" of ground clearance (POPO is 11")
    2. No XT value package (when all goodies added it hits 20G fast in Canada)
    3. 1000 @ 75HP? (it should have edged the POPO)
    I was ready to trade my RZR 50" when this hit.... but i will wait to see what kinda things Can-Am does with it over the next year.

    The downside to the Can being longer, is it takes more area to turn around.If you're looking for a good ride buy full size.The narrower the SXS is the shorter the arms are and the closer the shocks are which makes for a poorer ride. I think the reason they came out with a 50" is because of land owners shutting down trails.

    I just bought a Outlander Max right before this was announced. I know I would have got one of these had they been available. Maybe it will be my next ATV. I was looking real hard at the Honda 50" wide machine but the small engine and no locker ruined that for me. I personally won't buy a Polaris after I had 3 machines in a row were all bad experiences. Then the Attic Cat just has no dealer support here where I live. This machine seems to check all the boxes for me.

      I test rode a Pioneer 500 once, what a turd. Felt like driving a tractor. So slow I had to put it in 4th gear to get up to 20 mph. I guess its an ok machine if you want to putt around like an old man.

    Really like the machine, but not the longest in its class. The wildcat trail is quite a bit longer at 110.5 inches.

      @eckomarine  7 лет назад

      The total length on the Maverick is 118 inches. The wheelbase is 90 compared to Cat's 84. Not sure the difference it will make but we're pretty hyped about the new Maverick Trail!

      We're excited to get the new Maverick in to show our customers. I think it will be a popular machine.

      Dude don't get the AC700, the thing sounds like a lawn mower, and has no ground clearance. Made the mistake of buying one. The clutch was awful, and ride was too. Ended up getting a commander 800

      @fmxinsane 7 лет назад

      Hunter Roy really? I like the looks amd how agressive it seems. Besides i can get the 2017 trail for 10999$

      fmxinsane yeah don't get me wrong the thing rips. But it just wasn't for me. The cabin is tight and I'm only 6ft tall. The plastic quality wasn't good. I bottom out and scraped over the smallest rocks on the trails. In the tight and twisties it was good. But I had over heating issues all the time with it. For whatever reason AC put a really small radiator in it for a large motor. And to flush the system is ass backwards compared to all the other bikes I have owned. I hated the team clutching in the bike as well. You might have a better experience where you are and the trails you have. I ride in northern NH where trails are restricted to 64" bikes. Sold the AC for either a commander or teryx. Got a commander 800 dps and love it so much more. More power and way better ride plus tons of storage. But that's me anyways. I'm not out jumping the SxS or racing. Like I said you may have an entire different use.

      And the exhaust, no aftermarket exhaust helps get rid of the lawn mower type sound it creates. It's worse than the first gen RZR. Nothing sounds as good as a v twin to me

    I was really excited to see CanAm release this machine. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that it doesn't have a locking front differential!!! What the hell were they thinking? I would never spend the kind of money that these things cost only to end up with a "4x4" that can't lock the front axle!! CanAm failed miserably on this in my opinion.

    • @Maverickx-bd2ck
      @Maverickx-bd2ck 7 лет назад

      bigbluegpr supposedly, can am has a contract with the company that makes the visco lock front diff until 2020. I personally have a x3 xds and have had 2 can am atvs reviously. They do have a locker, regardless of what you or anyone thinks. You just have to hold the gas down to engage the lock, let off and it goes back to unlocked.

    • @bigbluegpr
      @bigbluegpr 7 лет назад +2

      Scot Kiber Sorry, but I'd rather have a switchable licker yhat I can turn in and off as I wish. Most of my riding consists of conditions where I need to use a front locker at low speed, not while standing in the gas (such as to engage visco-lock). So the CanAm is a fail for me.

    • @Maverickx-bd2ck
      @Maverickx-bd2ck 7 лет назад

      You could always go with a Halo or torq locker. I think not having a locker hurts some of the sales for can am but I ride rocky trails and rock crawl and have not had a problem. Look at the x3 xrc. Smart locker.

    • @bigbluegpr
      @bigbluegpr 7 лет назад

      Scot Kiber Not being argumentative - just stating my position. I realize that there's aftermarket support, but for the price of these machines I shouldn't have to spend hundreds of dollars after the purchase for something that all other manufacturers offer stock. And the full-sized Maverick is WAY too expensive for this working man!!

    • @Maverickx-bd2ck
      @Maverickx-bd2ck 7 лет назад

      Not being argumentative man, I am just trying to explain. I understand completely. I put off getting a sxs until I saw the x3 last year and I was hooked. Now they come out with an electronic locking front diff and I wish I waited. But not my last sxs.

    Wildcat trail is 110 inch wheel base....

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 7 лет назад

      110 inch is total length, not wheelbase. 118 inch overall lenght on the Maverick Trail. I don't think longer wheelbase is a good thing either, longer means wider turning radius. The Rzr 900 Trail is even shorter overall than the Wildcat Trail. He claims the longer wheelbase helps it ride better, suspension travel determines how well it rides, not how long it is. In tight trails I can see you having to stop and back up to make tight turns in this thing. Can they fit on atv trails? Yes. Can you ride them as aggressively on those tight trails as an atv. No, unless you don't mind scratching the crap out of the plastic.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad 6 лет назад

      marc gamelin I think they basically took the side nets from Polaris. They do help though...and make it easy to leave unbuckled when you are getting in and out often.
