How much ballast does it use?

How reliable is the 165id?

Very unreliable system. Right now I am reverce-engineered it and start to fixing these ultracapacitors units - blown transistors, malfunctioned DC-DC converters. Just once in the middle of your ride you find it does not work anymore, and you have to spend $700 for the new ultracap unit. After thant you think - maybe it is better to have normal battery, which I can replace 10 times cheaper, f#ck these extra 18 pounds. Unit is potted with polyurethane compound and not repairable by design. Ultracapacitor battery itself remains alive, but electronic PCB become damaged.

Cutting edge technology. Ha ha. What a joke. This is old tech!! Just new on a snowmobiles.

I am having a hard time take it off. Is there a trick to taking it off after use?

3:00 since when the hell is a pull start called a manual rewind. thats the most stupid shit i heard in a long time. if someone told me "if the starter button doesnt work just use the manual rewind " i would have the slightest clue what the hell they were talking about. i have been around motor sports for a long time but this is new to me.

On my wide body (Ace Model) 900 TurboR would this allow more narrow skis stance? To make my sled off trail friendly? 2” narrow or won’t work on my model?

Skidoo...I really gave you a thumbs up for your innovation on your crankshaft design...however...your dirty little secret is now going to be let out of the bag. Heads up people. If your rod bearings fail...which they do...and you think to yourself...well now...I am just gunna get that there fancy crank out and take off the rod cap and replace the two piece rod bearing with a new on and be on my way...right? WRONG! Skidoo won't sell you the bearing...period! So...you have a perfectly good crank that now you cant use. Skidoo is there to inform you that the only way to get it fixed is to buy an new entire crank assembly...ya...thats right...$1,900 later you get a new crank! Not cool skidoo...not cool...buyer beware. They hype up this motor by showing you the rods with rod caps and split bearings...only not to tell you that they won't sell you the bearings...so it does you no good.

Rich, I hope you read these comments, because I think I have another awesome application for the 850 E,tec. As a gas generator in my chevy Volt. Do you think this engine would have the tq it takes to drive generator, the volt engine makes 294 lb ft of tq. Might be low on TQ but you never know

But what happens when you start it using the shot starter and then shut the engine off like 2 minutes later? Does it have enough juice to do it twice? At least it also has a pull cord.

Light bar on the roof will likely be torn off by low hanging branches and the two round lights in front of the grille will reduce airflow to the radiator and not allow it to cool properly in hot climates. Who came up with those designs? EMP makes a very nice bracket setup for a 42" light bar that requires no drilling and it keeps the bar just in front of the windshield and low enough that it shouldn't hit branches.

It seems like a nice machine. I think it was definitely a good power play on their part to try and compete with Polaris.

The downside to the Can being longer, is it takes more area to turn around.If you're looking for a good ride buy full size.The narrower the SXS is the shorter the arms are and the closer the shocks are which makes for a poorer ride. I think the reason they came out with a 50" is because of land owners shutting down trails.

I usually wait a couple of years after the introduction of a new product. Developmental issues are common with any new product.Thinking 2020 would be a better year to look at the 850. I presently own two Renegade Backcountry 600 Etecs with no problems whatsoever.
