You can search this laser cut and engrave machine TTS-55. Its not as expensive as the others and it will do justice to your toppers. Im also learning my ways how to make some layout. :) Good luck to us! :)

Yes, I blend it with the bottom part to make it stronger so it will not break. I have glued a small piece of clear acrylic in between the top and bottom part of an i but that was a headache and the customer wanted it separated and paid extra.

Are you using cast acrylic or extruded acrylic? I didn't realize there was a difference and bought some less expensive extruded acrylic at Home Depot. It didn't work very well - kind of melted where the cuts were.

I would use the combine tool and virtual erase tool. Maybe put a triangle upside down and combine them and if it is a line in between erase it. Hope this helps.
