Back in Viktor's flashback, we saw his model boat get away from him, and he trips because of his disability. In this episode, we see him running (probably for the first time in his life) - and overtaking ships in the background.

Silco has two huge men with him, but he picks up Jinx and carries her himself. Also, it's the same bridge Vander carried Vi and Powder from.
The transition between Vi and Jinx still gets me. From the tenderest touch by Caitlyn on Vi's face, to Jinx in writhing in tortured anguish.
Jinx took too much internal damage from the blast. There was probably no treatment except shimmer to fix her which would get ugly, so the doctor put Silco to sleep.
Yeah, don't think there was an in-between treatment to fix her or a method using traditional medicine. It was Dr. Singed and his cave of horrors, or death.
Jinx also was the cause of the burns that Singed suffered (back in ep. 3) so he probably decided to use the opportunity to get payback on her. He wasn't too concerned with her comfort.
Sure, he saved her life, but Jinx also did not imagine the doctor's sadistic expression. She merely overlaid Cait's face over it. He was 100% enjoying it.
He also experimented on her, she produce shimmers in her own body now that's why her purple eyes never fade.
She is like Captain America with her own super serum juice
The ends justifies the means for Silco. He's ready to do anything to remove Piltover's grip on the Undercity. Even making drugs and using kids as workers in his shimmer plants. That's why I love Silco as a character so much : he's constantly doing awful stuff but he is completely right about Piltover and how to get rid of its influence. His relationship with Jinx is also really interesting because they're both broken people stuck in an endless loop of trauma, but they truly love each other.

very neat detail. when silco picks up jinx, he has his 2 goons on his side. those two are propably much stronger than him, but it is he who carries jinx. this emphasizes how important she is to him

My theory is that the monster Vi says she "ran away" from wasn't Silco, or Deckard - it was her own anger . It made her leave Powder, even if she just needed to temporarily collect herself.
Pretty sure I recall an old reactor thread where it was commented that a writer confirmed the 'ran away' thing was referring to Silco. Personally Silco makes sense to me, although if we want to get all psychological about it, anger could work. But I don't think that is what the writers were going for.

@@Hohum37 She didn't literally see Silco, scream in horror, and run away. But taken more as a general statement, Silco did 'show up'... and she did run away. Anyway, just going by what I read the writers stated.
The animators knew exactly what they were doing when they created that fight scene: get you hyped up with the raid, raise the stakes with the shimmer guards, get the blood pumping with the Jayce/Vi fight, reach a peak when Jayce whips out his cannon ... followed by the horror of shooting a bystander.
The girl with Viktor is named Skye, and she was also the girl looking at him with his toy boat as a kid.. She's been into him their entire lives basically.

You asked why the Hexcore doesn't consume Viktor the way it does Sky and the plants: it's the shimmer. When Viktor goes to Singed for advice about the plants, Singed tells him that the problem isn't that Viktor's runes or equations are wrong, it's that his subjects can't handle the transition. That's why he offers Viktor the shimmer, saying it should give him everything he needs to survive the transmutation. That's why it worked when Viktor injected his leg. But in this episode he was out of shimmer, which is why the transmutation was failing. If it hadn't been for Sky's unwitting sacrifice, the Hexcore would have consumed Viktor. Instead, Sky was consumed and Viktor succeeded in transmuting another small portion of his body (a hand) into a biomechanical prosthetic.

Maybe Vi was right that the two of them are oil and water, so different from one another that they can never mix, no matter how hard they try... Or maybe they're more like blood and water. Different, sure, but still compatible and both absolutely vital for life
Singed did in fact save Jinx's life. he also asked Silco if he was prepared to lose her. Singed is an amoral person who sees everything and everybody as a means to an end. red eye Jinx is born. btw, i missed her on the first viewing 🤣
I always thought it poignant that Singed asks "Are you prepared to lose her?" and not "Are you prepared for her to die?" which are two very different questions. Jinx didn't die, but Silco did lose her.

Yes, I don't think he did anything beyond what was necessary to Jinx. She was very nearly dead, and as he said, "the process will be demanding. Sometimes death is a mercy." Basically, saying it might be better to let her pass. But Silco insisted... so he put him out so he wouldn't interfere with the quite distressing procedure.
Right about Vi and the fights, I could watch Vi punching things for hours.

Mel was going in the direction of her upbringing in Noxus, where only the strongest thrive and war is the first answer. Then her mom shows up and reintroduces the ptsd in her to go the opposite direction again.
Jinx wasn't just beat and knocked out from her fight with echo, she also fully took that grenade blast. She was quite literally dying nothing could save her besides alot of shimmer.
Although ideally factories wouldn't have child workers, if you think about it objectively, it was rather common during Victorian times (approx. tech level of this setting). And however awful it may be, the alternatives of working in the mines, or doing what Vander was (using the children as thieves), isn't exactly a lot better... probably much worse, actually.

about your 2 questions: why did the kid survive the fall? he works in a shimmer factory. considering the sanitory regulations (lol), one might assume he gets in contact with shimmer from time to time, which made him a bit more resilient than the average piltover schoolboy.
what happened with viktor? viktor was told that his body cant handle the hextech-experiment without having this shimmer-variant in his blood. he still tries to do it, even though he was out of shimmer. the hexcore just did what it was asked to do - transform viktor. but the hexcore needed a new catalyst. if sky hadnt joined the experiment hands-on, viktor would probably disintegrated himself, but with sky in the mix, she was used as a catalyst and didnt take it too well, healthwise. it was only enough to transform his hand though, he surely needs a bigger staff of assistants.

It's always funny watching people get to the rain scene and only just then realize that it was building towards a romance, like the past 3 episodes weren't already making that obvious.
Especially because Jinx's whole fear of Caitlyn being a replacement in Vi's heart makes literally no sense without it.
But I think these two realised it before then, this is just the most overt confirmation.

This is one of my fav episode, that opening made my jaw dropped the first time. Didn’t think they would go there.
Everyone is doing their part in the shimmer factory, this is the byproduct of the topside's negligence and no care in the world for the poor people.

Imagine the raid from the perspective of the kids. Just going to your job, doing your daily routine, and suddenly the most famous political leader in your area shows up armed to the teeth with never before seen weaponry and a load of cops armed for bear. An alert goes off, chaos ensues, and then the famous leader shoots and kills your unarmed friend in front of you while the cops have you all cuffed. Now I know they don’t have the perspective of the larger picture, but think of how radicalized those kids are going to be against Piltover. They may have hated them or been jealous of topside before, but every one of those kids is going to be willing to die in order to topple the current hierarchy. The problems this raid caused long term would be uncountable. This is the worst possible decision Jayce could have made.

I should mention there's some interesting fan theories regarding Singed. None of this is actually confirmed, so I don't consider it a spoiler, but if you don't want to know, don't read the rest.
So, there's a character ingame named Orianna, who fell ill as a child due to a chemical spill in Zaun (aka the Undercity). In an effort to save her life, her inventor father began replacing more and more of her body with prosthetics and machine parts, starting with her lungs. Because Singed can be heard saying "I too once had a daughter" just prior to Silco passing out at 5:50, it is speculated that his real identity may in fact be that of Orianna's father, Corin Reveck. Again, we don't actually know if any of this is true, though and there's not a lot of evidence for it.
Sounds completely possible though! I’ll have to check the character out on google!

It hasn't been fully explained anywhere but the people in the shimmer suits seem to be humans (and not robots or something else), probably drug addicts similar to the ones we saw in ep6 where caitlyn gets medicine for vi's stab wound. They are willingly or forced to standby on guard in exchange of shimmer for their addiction (It was very subtle implicit shown throughout the show that the first versions of shimmer were really addictive and raw and over the years (as the doctor continued working on it and refining) newer versions became less aggressive and more of a recreational drug (we see people smoking it on vander's bar ep4 and the brothel ep5 and few other scenes and they didn't turn into a monster) and newer versions have healing properties (silco's eye, vi's wound), I guess it's something like a fast reacting steroids, they make you feel healthy and strong immediately and that's what's secured viktor his initial experiment success with his leg.
Lastly, the shimmer suits appear in the season 2 trailer so this was not the last time we'll see of them.

So good, Act 3 is the best, "The boy savior" "Oil and Water" and "The monster you created" are by far the best episodes. And we got to see Viktor whit the start of he's "Glorious" transformation. Viktor was a standout; I think not even the creators imagine that hed be one of the top favorites of the show. The running scene is regarded by some as the best animated minute in the show.
Now the Hexcore, let's start with the non-spoiler bit, what's going on with it? If you remember back in Ep 5 Viktor unlike Jaice started having visions, this probably because his constant dealing with Hex crystals and the creation of Hextech Gemstones which I believe are condense magic in solid form, my thoughts is that Viktor has always been a potential mage that never developed because of his frailty, his mind trying to comprehend magic this vision is what jumpstarted his development of the Hexcore. My theory is if everything had continued with no "Interference" Viktor might of awaken as a mage. Since Arcane is different from what up till now had been canon in the story, the success of Arcane sealed the story of the universe of Runeterra (this is the name of the world) Arcane is now canon, so Viktor´s story is going to be very different to what has been told so far. It might surprise you guys to know that Viktor is a "Champion" and is playable character in game, so a word of advice, don't look up info about him at least not until November when season 2 is coming out to avoid potentially spoiling yourselves.
Second part about the Hexcore, on what really is going on with it. This part can't really be considered spoiler because this is info that can only be obtained beyond Arcane, it has not been addressed and probably will not be even after the end of season 2, this info is from the old lore but for sure is going to come up in the far future. That said stop here if you don't want to know some info with very very low levels of potential spoilers...
The Hexcore is tainted by "The Void" those who know is because of the colors that I mention in the comments of your previous video and the shapes that we had the chance to glimpse on the Scene where it absorbed a drop of Viktors blood back in ep 5. The Void in League of Legends has always been represented by the color purple and aided in times by an abstract weblike shapes and forms. The Void is another dimension that is inhabited by the Watchers, cosmic shapeless abominations that open rifts to this world to spy, consume and finally transform lifeforms into horrors of their former self's, which is probably what happened to Victor's assistant Sky, had it not been for the shimmer strengthening his body he too would have been consumed. The void will eventually pop up again but will not be addressed fully yet until we near the end of all the stories in this world, I predict that Season 3 to 4 will be about the nation of Noxus (From where Mels Mom is, although they are also of Targonian decent at least just Mel) and Ionia (this place is super magical and probably is going to be awesome) from there who knows, we have the winter themed nation, the plains nation, the desert nation, the jungle nation and the Archipielago nation, if we are lucky we will get to see a ton of stories in the decades to come.
So, tell me if you guys have any questions, Ill happily answer them being extra careful to not spoil anything, although you probably watched ep 9 by now, we have watched almost the same, still I will be careful transferring info from the old lore, to give you a bit of insight. If it's actually void has yet to be proven. Shimmer probably comes from the plants and Rio. If they have anything to do with the void is unclear. I wouldn't assume purple = void. The hexcore is a hextech device that is able to adapt and think. It became more and more organic after it consumed Viktor's blood. I don't see what would it have to do with the void.

Personally, I think it's better. Too many things are dragged on for no reason, and the quality of stories can be ruined over time. People have asked for Riot Games to make a movie or tv show since almost the inception of the game, which is going on 17 years now if I'm correct. That's because they always made killer cinematics which were out of this world. But as you have learned, true cgi is very expensive to make whether in movie or tv format. As the creative director said "We didn't want to drag on a show forever. We didn't want to create something that we don't believe has amazing quality and respects the world of League of Legends. We know exactly what story we want to tell and an ending that leaves our characters off where you know them in the game. They've also said they aren't stopping here but going to explore other regions of Runeterra." As a fan and on-off player of the game, I think we will have plenty of Arcane/League of legends to go, honestly enough IP to out live our life time since it takes years to make a season, so many areas to explore and so many champions to choose from. In-case you didn't know, league of legends as over 167 champions, all with their own backstories and each could be their own main story and protagonist and each interconnect in their own ways.
