    The tears are well earned. That look on Ekko's face like, "I can't do this to you," after insisting the whole episode that Powder is no longer in there and then seeing her for himself. He loved his friend. It's so sad what the years have done to them.

    Heimerdinger. ep6: "I've seen nations destroyed by a single seed and it looked exactly like this."
    Ekko ep7 "If a single seed could make it down here, so could we."
    Arcane is filled with duality.

    That little smile. My interpretation: Jinx sees Ekko looking down at her, not as someone to be despised, feared or disgusted by - but as an old friend.. and she's done. The smile seemed like a wistful goodbye, no malice or trickery, she just didn't want to be around any more.

    Two uploads same day!? You've blessed us lol
    To explain the blood and the device. I'm explaining from my best knowledge of league lore. I wouldn't say any of this is spoilers because nothing has been confirmed and mostly just theories. You also have to understand some background of League of Legends/land of Runeterra and what is cannon. Arcane is considered cannon and Arcane caused Riot to fix some cannon issues because they messed up a huge League of Legends event in the lore a few years ago (called Ruination) with a few cinematics. Getting to the point, there are various world ending events that can happen and one of them is called "The Void." To keep it simple as possible, The Void is just a literal entity of power that wants to devour/consume everything. In a distant land of Runeterra, there was a place called "Shurima" and it basically was a dessert kingdom considered to be Ancient of the Lands. Basically, at one point , the Void devoured the kingdom and many people with it. The Void has its own place, land, and creatures that all have their own minds. Many considered them to be mindless, but they do have a hierarchy of command and a leader. The theory in Arcane, again just theory, is that the hexcore that Viktor created, is a way of "teasing" The Void and could be a beacon or portal for it, and Viktor doesn't realize the consequences of his actions. Also in League lore, the Void hasn't made an appearance in centuries since devouring the Land of Shurmia. Based off prophecies they are attempting to break through the ground again in a different part of Runeterra called "Freljord (Frel-lord), considered an Ice Kingdom" where other champions have taken an oath to wait & protect Runeterra from the imminent danger. Mainly, people who have played the game, followed the lore, and just done a deep dive into the League of Legends would probably get it. One other reason why some people think it is teasing The Void, if you do a deep dive into the lore or any void champions, they have a VERY distinct color of purple that resonates with Void creatures, the land, or anything having to do with The Void.
    Again none of this is confirmed and I could be totally wrong, I am absolutely open to any other thoughts or theories but that's what I've concluded based off playing League of legends and understanding the lore.
    Highly recommended to explore and make League videos after Arcane, they have really cool cinematics and great champions to learn about all with backstories(in the game, the characters are called champions because they fight in an Arena 5v5)

    • @revendax2584
      @revendax2584 Месяц назад +1

      I dont think the hexcore is related to anything to the void, more like its a machine that requires an energy source to do transformation and growth. It ends up looking funky because of the fusion of organic matter and magic. Its also partially sentient.

      Thanks for this. I understand it’s all theory at this point but it’s nice to try and understand this HUGE world a little more. Will definitely have to do a bit of digging about the world and see what is best to watch as sometimes they talk about places and people (for example Mel’s mother in the next episode) that we just don’t have any idea about and it would be nice to know little bits at least, even if this can be watched as a stand alone.

      @@Reactsandgames if you want to learn about different regions there's 2 routes you can take, 1) watch all the legends of Runeterra (leagues card game) region videos. They more so give you bite sized stories from each region to give you an idea about them. 2) you could react to Necrits "Riot MMO world already finished" (its named something like that, NeCrit is the unofficial lore nerd for league) in that hes talking about what we might see in the MMO but he takes time to cover all the regions and what they're like as well as showing you the interactive map so you can see where everything is

    As I understand it, the device Viktor used has the ability to infuse magic into living matter, like plants and maybe people, causing them to evolve into a new, more powerful kind of lifeform. But the plants he tried it on all died soon after, because they were not strong enough to survive such an overwhelming change. If he makes his body stronger with Shimmer and etches those runes into himself as a guide though, maybe it will actually work and not kill him?
    Though I will point out this was not what he intended the device to do originally, it's just the one thing he's figured out how to do with it so far
    Originally, Viktor thought that the way Jayce created Hextech things was too simple. He would create a tool with only one function, like a big glove that helped you lift heavy things easier, and that was it
    Instead, he believed they could create one single device that could do a large number of different magical things by giving it the artificial intelligence to think and cast magic all on its own. But he was completely failing at this until after it absorbed his blood and a new sort of "life" was born (probably why they contrasted it with the Jayce and Mel sex scene, the traditional way of creating life)

    Woah double episodes today! Thank you so much!
    I'm a huge Arcane fan and came across this channel not too long ago. Thank you guys for your astute observations and thoughts with each and every episode. Ekko and Jinx's common roles as the youth of our initial group just makes this whole episode so heartbreaking. Here are two kids that shared a similar upbringing, but while Ekko has kept his hopes alive Jinx has mostly thrown hers away. Just within the last couple of frames of Jinx in this episode, imo, I think we can feel the full force of how terrible this situation is for everyone.
    We go from Ekko's very understandable position of refusing to see Jinx as anything other than Silco's lackey to seeing the little girl Powder existing just slightly underneath. (Pretty sure the animators used their special Powder/Jinx rig to purposeful transform Jinx's face to the softer/rounder Powder look, refer to Bridging the Rift behind the scenes Arcane documentary for more!)
    With your invested commentary and general excitement with this series, I would love to see you guys dive further into the "Bridging the Rift" documentary to get a sense of all the efforts thrown into this series. As well, the world behind Arcane, called "Runeterra", and the League of Legends lore as a whole is rife with stories and very digestible, beautiful cinematics just as complex and emotional!

      And absolute props for continuing your explanations through well deserved tears, many people are rendered speechless and it's a testament to how strong your feelings are for this show that you shed tears. Some people need a good cry when the emotions hit, some don't, but no need to apologize either way. Loved the reactions guys, keep it up!

      @Reactsandgames I am currently editing for another pair of reactors and helping them on their League lore deep dive - (Meesh & Dee) - if you'd like, I can send you curated playlists of all League of Legends material to jumpstart yalls journey.
      I've assisted 4 other channels now that were interested in League of Legends lore and they've absolutely loved it (the views and engagement with the community on those reaction videos are amazing too). Whether you'd like to use these playlists as a baseline for reaction content or to simply sate yalls curiosity for the world at large, I leave to you. I assure you that a deep dive is well worth it, you'll very quickly find out that Piltover/Zaun is only but the smallest corner of this very vast world!
      I'd highly suggest beginning with Bridging the Rift (as many others have pointed out) fully available here on RUclips. Some music and one scene is marked for copyright, but it's otherwise very lenient on claims.

    The runes Victor carved in his leg serve to guide the energy of the Hexcore into him for a transmutation, but the process is so demanding that the living tissue somehow rejects the power of the hexcore, i asume that is what happened to the plant or any bio/organic thing that comes in direct contact with it. The Shimmer Singed(the doctor) gave Victor was a variant (maybe a refined/better one?) that keeps you strong enough to survive a violent transition. That's why Victor needs to use the Shimmer because maybe without it he couldn't survive whatever it is that the hexcore will do to him.

    So there is many theories about why Vi didn't try to reason with Powder on the bridge. The best one in my opinion is that jinx literally shoots at her. And at that point Vi kinda starts to see Jinx differently. She starts to believe that the only way to save powder is not to reason with jinx but to kill Silco. That's why she acts the way she does in episode 8 to the council.

    Some sad details about Jinx nd Ekkos relationship that kinda hurt: Jinx calls Ekko "boy savior" because a deleted scene is of Ekko trying to save powder from silco (they didn't include it because the episode was too long😭)
    In the game, Ekkos character has some lines that go
    "Powder! I..nevermind...I miss you so much..." and "I had a crush! Until you started talking to the gun."
    Jinx has a chance to shoot Ekko when he's in the air aiming at her but doesn't (some assume it's from her late reaction time, others assume she just couldn't bring herself to)
    The last one is the face Jinx makes when Ekkos is just about to punch, many view that as where Ekkos saw a little piece of Powder still in her. People also view that little scrunch of her face a couple seconds before she blows them up is kind of like a 'I'm sorry old friend'. She also could have attached the bomb to Ekkos, but instead she blew herself up with him
    Also, a little tip: You can see some cute clips of their friendship when they were younger in the Enemy Arcane music video, you guys should 100% check it out

    The tragedy with Silco and Jinx is he BELIEVES that "Everyone betrays us" it's not that he's trying to manipulate Jinx its that he literally cannot imaging anything else but betrayal and he's acting and giving genuinely well intentioned advice based on that belief

    • @Reactsandgames
      @Reactsandgames  Месяц назад +1

      That makes sense. It seemed at first glance that he felt like powder could be turned back to Vi and so out of panic he tried to manipulate her into thinking she will just betray her, which seems to play out in her head with the vi and Kate situation on the bridge

    • @TofuBug24
      @TofuBug24 Месяц назад +1

      @@Reactsandgames No one should be arguing that Silco doesn't DO evil things. But the parallels between him and Powder are deliberate and if we extrapolate backwards from what we know about Powder's life we saw we can strongly assume that Silco has a parallel life of trauma and loss. We're just seeing him AFTER he had found the resolve to fight against that loss and trauma in the way he believed protected himself.
      The fact that Silco STILL holds on to the dream of a free nation of Zaun tells me at least that DEEP underneath that cold, calcified, jagged shell of self protection and rage is a heart that genuinely loves the people of the undercity. He just happens to have adopted utilitarianism so he does not show that love to any individual person each is a potential sacrifice for the cause so that the whole might get what they all desire freedom

    I have a hard time imagining season 2 of Arcane coming close to this level of storytelling. S1 of Arcane is one of those shows where everything, from the top down, from the concept, the storyboard, the writing, the cinemetagrophy, the animation, the voice acting, and every little thing in between just works so well as a whole. And yet, there isn't a single episode on it's own that couldn't be fleshed out into it's own full feature film. Serisouly, they could have turned every single episode into a full length film and it would have worked just as well as this series has done as a whole. That's how good the writing has been. This first season took some 7+ years to make. And the second season isn't far behind (3-4 years I think)? The animation studio, and the creators/game/show runners down at riot have all been working their asses off to make this series the best it could possibly be. So when I see someone reacting to this show, I completely relate to anywho who tears up. The show is just that damn good when it pulls you in and invests you and your emotions in such a way it'll be nearly impossible to forget many years down the road.
    Season 2 will be the final arc for Vi, Powder, Caitlyn, and everyone else in these first two seasons. But they do plan on continueing the story with new heroes from the game. There's like nearly 100 hereos they can choose from, and so many of them in so many combinations could all make another amazing 1 or 2 season series...I do hope Characters from Season 1 make cameo appearances though..
    But yeah, with so many champions in the league of legends game who are all deserving of their stories being told, Riot has a mountian of gold they're sitting on if they continue to do things right, and they have enough material to keep it going for a deace, maybe even two decades worth of series with all the lore and characters at their disposal. They made Arcane cannon, so I see no reason why they'd want to stop there.
    Glad you guys are enjoyed the series.
    You should watch all the cinematics and music videos and read a bunch of the lore comics. A lot of good contend still to be discovered in the LOL universe.

    I know the two of you have already been through enough pain with this episode - so I apologize if this twists the knife a little - but after watching the scene with Ekko and Jinx dozens of times over, I've come to the conclusion that Jinx wasn't trying to blow them both up. She was giving Ekko an out.
    Remember, Jinx's grenades stick to people, and she's VERY good with sleight of hand. Even discounting that, she could have just pulled the pin on her belt and held onto him. To me, the look on her face when Ekko hesitates is what really sells it though. Her look isn't one of malice, craftiness, or desperation; it's sadness, resignation, and acceptance. It's like her eyes are telling Ekko "It's okay; you don't have to do it. I will."

    Something folks often miss is the implication of Jinx mockingly calling Ekko the "Boy Savior". Ekko tells Vi that Jinx wants to work for Silco because he tried to "save her", like the other people he's helped. She chose Silco over him. They wrote a scene of him trying to save his then best friend Powder and her not coming with him, but decided to not include it. Good decision because it would probably make Jinx that much less sympathetic in this fight scene. Ultimately I think that single line from Jinx and Ekko's disgust at having to fight her says everything that scene would have told the audience.

    So, the idea of the hex tech is not very well explained. But basically the gems power the magic and the magic itself is series of math equations or "rune order" which has to be energized in a pattern. The hex core or the "hex tech that could learn" basically is an AI. When they find that it reacts to organic life they believe it could be used to cure Victor's disease, but since the plants won't stay alive it is implied the transformation would not be sustainable. This is why Victor used shimmer and tested the hex core, starting on his leg, to see if it had heal capacity. Which it did. But the cost is unknown.

    In the video game he's augmented himself with hextech, which was a popular thing to do in piltover in the 'lore'
    But they've rewritten a lot of that stuff for the show and the idea of the sentient purple magic stuff is new. So we're all kinda in the dark on it

    That was a very entertaining reaction! I’ve seen Arcane many times over & again but never connected the fact that Ekko knew exactly who Marcus was! Thanks for that. Arcane is a gorgeously tragic masterpiece from every angle of production….and you guys seem to understand that. It’s very special indeed & has ruined me on all other forms of entertainment media or content. I look forward to your responses to the remaining episodes. 🙏🏼

    One of my fav episodes. To explain what's going on with Victor, he is attempting to augment his physiology to cure his illnesses. But his body is too weak to withstand physiological augmentation from the hexcore. So far when he uses the hexcore to try and extend the life of organic matter, the organic matter rapidly dies afterward. He is afraid this will happen to him too if he uses the hexcore by itself. So, he saught out shimmer and got Singed to create a special formula for him that would make his body strong enough to handle the augmentation from the hexcore and hopefully without Victor dying in the process.

    Yesss here it is!! Let it out man, this show is so good. I think we’re supposed to be a little confused by it so you’re probably right where you should be. My guess is it’s going to think more and better, which doesn’t necessarily mean good. We’ve seen that it can influence so maybe it’s broadening its sphere of influence? (Little play on words there haha)

    This show puts Jinx's trauma right at the forefront, but a lot of people don't think about Vi's trauma. After her entire family died before her eyes because of her little sister, slapped her for it, and then was essentially kidnapped and thrown in prison by Marcus before she could reconcile, and gets beat up by guards for nearly a decade, only to find her little sister in that state. She's been through it just as bad, if not worse, than Powder has.

    At the very end of the fight I think that was Powder, and she wanted to die. Also FYI there’s a music video they released before this episode that gives a bit more backstory on Powder/Ekko. And, I don’t believe this is a spoiler but a viewing enhancer, but skip if you don’t want to know Ekko’s power in-game: he has a power related to time manipulation that helps explain the fight and why he was fiddling with his watch back in episode 4.

    I would also like to point this out, with Vi not saying anything to Powder on the bridge. The last time she said something with a lot of emotion running through her to powder was when Jinx was created in episode 3. That is the beauty of this show, there are no right answers.

    14:27 One thing that bothers me is that Mel never looks Victor in the eyes or talks directly to him. Everytime Victor says something to her, she keeps her eyes away from him and only looks at Jayce.

  • @user-fh9bt7gx8e
    @user-fh9bt7gx8e Месяц назад

    I don't think anyone can tell you what's going on with Victor.
    One of the differences between this series and many others is that there are no super heroes or supervillains in it. You won't understand Jinx, Vee, Vander or Silko if you decide who is bad and who is good. These are complex characters, they have contradictory features. Vander betrayed his friend Silko. And from this, the injured Silko became like this. Silko sees himself in Jinx. Because he sees her pain, similar to his pain. Betrayed by his brother, Silko trusts no one and wants Jinx to trust no one. Why did Silko need Vander's foster children? Because it was because of them that Vander lost his determination to go all the way for their revolution. He does not realize that he is already on the same path as his brother. And Jinx is jealous of Kate for Vee as much as Silko was jealous of the kids for Vander.
    This also applies to "shimmer" or "crystals". They are not good or bad. They have "good" and "bad" properties.
    Don't be so sure that the characters in this series don't die.

    I like that if you really pay attention during the part where Jinx shoots at Vi and Caitlyn, you can see that Vi protects Cait by pushing the two of them apart, but Cait also tries to protect Vi by pulling the two of them closer together. Very fitting for their characters haha

      Oh, you might be surprised, Powder would never shoot Vi, if you go frame by frame, Jynx was shooting at Caitlyn, but Cait though she was shooting at them booth, so she was going to shield Vi, but Vi obviously not going to let that happened and pushed her away.

    You want to know about the Hexcore with no spoilers? Sorry, that's just not possible you just have to wait, at least until next episode where when get a clue as to what happens to Viktor. After that we might get into a bit of lore stuff that goes beyond Arcane, one thing that I can say right now with no spoilers is pay attention to the COLORS, the creators are hyperfocus on details, that is on each scene and character design... color means a lot, some more than other like Vi Pink, Powder Blue, as an example. What color is Shimmer? What color is Hextech? What color is the Hexcore? Go back one episode and you will notice a change, its subtle but its color hue is different, and you only get these amazing details on rewatch, so have fun with that.
    Can't wait for your next upload, cya later.
