She is a LITERAL kpop idol in the game of League of Legends. Like it's her in game lore.
I wouldn't say "K-pop" given the fact that Seraphine isn't Korean and doesn't sing in Korean. But she is an idol/artist in League and 'was' a virtual idol irl (using 'was' because her virtual idol concept got abandoned after promotion ended).

The claim for Popstars was specifically done by an artist called Charli XCX. After digging around for a bit, it appears as though she performed in the song but for a DEMO version, and is NOT included in the official song, and yet my video was claimed by her (here are the comments of a RUclipsr who also encountered a strike)
The way the bands work here is that they are skins of league characters, skins according to riot are canon but they exist in a different universe, same thing with star guardian and so on. There are never crossovers between runeterra stuff and other universes, the ones in skin lines are their own thing based on league champs.
That Villain song is fun, because in the KDA skin universe Evelynn, the singer, is a demon just like in the main League of Legends universe. So a lot of what shes singing about is probably just true, even tho the people in her universe dont realize that. Also, Ahris picture shes looking at with the black hair is, aside from the school clothes of course, very close to the look of Ahri in the game and "main" universe.
Villain also good meta joke, video published as "Concept Video", like "yeah guys, it's totally a concept, so far from reality, just a wild fantasies, no one would do that for real", while it's literally her hunting process, someone probably died for this music video
An interesting detail, that I've seen mentioned by someone else before is that in the "VILLAIN" video, is that there are a couple scenes where the Singer's character is walking on uneven ground, and you can actually see her feet shift and ankles almost buckle, like a real person would, when stepping on rocks in high heels. It's such a deliberate detail that absolutely didn't need to be added, but shows they treated things like if it was real.
Akali is the girl with the ponytail (she does have that hair in game) and that is Ahri and the others are Kaisa (the lady dashing) and Evelynn (woman with claws). This whole universe is for skins, they've got other groups too. The people you see in the title are the real people who voice their singing. Seraphine is an Idol champion who's power is literally just singing. She came out when More came out. She's basically like Sona (a mute musician) but with singing instead of instruments and Seraphines range is bigger (she also stuns) My fav is Evelynn cuz she slays (literally >.>)
Something I picked up on as someone who speaks Arabic, In the song "MORE," The part where Akali says something in Korean along the lines of, "Go on Jennah don't get burnt." I know that bar means something different in Korean, but in Arabic, the bar is also heat. If anyone is an Arabic speaker, it sounds like she's saying that we go to Jannah (Jannah in Arabic means heaven) & then right after that she says "don't get burnt" which makes sense because if we go to heaven, then we escape hell (aka, we don't get burnt) 😂
This is like a Parallel Universe or Reality of the world of Runeterra, they like to say that every champion in League of Legends exist in every Universe, but the lore changes. This universe is the closest reality to our world. And most of the champions here became bands or single Singers. In the KDA band that you saw, you can recognize that ninja ponytail girl from Tales of Runeterra (Akali), she is the Cap ponytail girl you like in the band. They are the same person but in different realities. Evelynn (the one with big nails) is my favorite, in the Real universe she is a Succubus, that's why in this universe she brings sexy vibes more than the others. And yes that Fox girl (Ahri) is the same nine-tails girl you've seen in the Reactions, but again, in this Universe she is a Singer. Thanks to bring the reaction, hope you see the other Bands too.☺
Villain is my favorite of the songs, and the only one I listen to regularly. The video is designed to make you uncomfortable in a fun, spooky way, and so is the song, and it's really well-crafted :3 Evelynn, the League character it's based on and sung by (you noticed there was only one of the girls) is all about being sneaky, seductive, and then brutally killing you. Lyrically and musically I think they did a fantastic job with her song fitting her character :3 Also, I have auditory-tactile synesthesia (sounds can cause physical sensations for me sometimes, like getting chills/goosebumps but taken to another level) and Villain has some *really* cool effects.
My favorite is Evelynn she's such a baddie. Her bangs in MORE are so cool. And her claws in VILLAIN are just the most awesome thing ever. Such a badass queen
That means so much thank you!! It’s always a bit nerve wrecking when I don’t fully vibe with something but you guys here with LoL always seems to be so cool with it 😁
@@YayReactsI think that's because everyone who plays league is fully aware that the game itself is somewhere between mediocre and absolute trash, but Riot often does a fantastic job with lore, story, music, and all of the artistic parts that surround the game. @@YayReacts its because we all are incredibly toxic to each other in game, and there arent enough toxins to spread outside of league anymore :). We just like to see other people enjoy our world, without being consumed by it.
Every music group they made are named after some words/phrases from the game. Like the KDA is a player stat which come from the Kills, Deaths and Assists. After you saw the KDA videos i recommend you the other 3 music groups too. The 1st music group they made was the Pentakill. Pentakill is a word in the game, and you get it in a match if you kill on your own every opponent character before any of them can respawn. Pentakill is a metal band and I recommend you the Mortal Reminder video from them (by the way Mortal Reminder is a legendary item from the game used by mainly ranged characters). The 2nd group is the KDA. The 3rd is True Damage (one of the three damage types in the game) a Hip Hop like band and i recommend the Giants from them, but they have an Arcane character in the group so you can wait with it if you want. The 4th group is the Heartsteel (come from the name of a legendary item mainly used by tanks in the game) which is a K-pop boy group, their only video is titled Paranoia, and i highly recommend it too.
I don't know if they've already mentioned the song "Villain" is dark because the filters weren't finished due to lack of money. So they darkened the video and gave it a dark "look". In the few parts that are illuminated, you can see that the texture is as basic as possible. The only part that they gave a bigger focus is on the car because it's simple to make (as incredible as it may seem, it's a simple texture).
for context. KDA is a group comprised of characters from league if they were in a universe where they were k-pop stars instead of warriors in a fantasy world. Example is instead of akali (girl with pony tail) being an assassin from ionia, she is the young talented rapper of the k-pop girl group KDA. this means that the girls in the music videos are COSPLAYING the champains, they ARE the champions.
The group is made up of LoL champions Ahri, Akali, Kai'Sa and Evelynn. They made KDA skins for the characters which you can buy in-game. The voices are provided by Miyeon (Ahri), Soyeon (Akali) those two are from the K-Pop group (G)I-DLE, Evelynn (Madison Bee) and Kai'Sa (Jaira Burns). The other character with the blue hair in the MORE video is Seraphine voiced by Lexie Liu. Akali is the rapper with the cap, Ahri is the nine-tail fox, Evelynn is the one with claws and Kai'Sa is the brunette with the long ponytail.
Since you indirectly mentioned that you mostly listen to Kpop boy groups, then I would suggest for you to listen to LoL's new boy group, Heartsteel with their song Paranoia. One of the members of Heartsteel is actually voiced by Baekhyun from EXO (idk if that will convince you to listen to it, but might as well throw that info out XD)
The character in Villain is called "Evelyn". She is really a powerful demon. She can take any form, seduce people, and then kill. Every kill makes her more powerful. (Villain is my favourite one too)
If you want more fun LoL music, definitely check out HEARTSTEEL- PARANOIA! The group only has the one song so far, but it's super fun and the blooper reel is a must watch for me! It also features a member of EXO 👀 (maybe someday leauge will get a BTS feature, i feel like that would absolutely pop off)
Villian (the solo song with the girl with the crazy nails) is labeled as a "concept video" because it's actually 100% animated! From my understanding, Riot just wanted to show off a bit with their hyper-realistic animation style, and they definitely did show off: the lips and the sparks from the nails and everything look stunning
the girl you liked the voice of in more is lexie liu, she has amazing music you should check her out! (if you didn't already lol i'm kinda late to the video)

@YayReacts is because a Chinese character made it into k pop group or ot could be because she is not lore accurate..many reasons her play style I don't know !
The hatred towards her are really just hatred towards Riot Games with how they handled her. >From how they first introduced her with her own Twitter account pretending like she's a real person with mental health struggles (this was before they announced that she's a new champion), >to her outfit not fitting the aesthetic of Piltover & Zaun (before anyone gives the excuse of "She's a popstar. Celebrities always wear strange clothes." or whatever, have you ever seen glitter in Piltover fashion?? Because I really think that is the problem with the design. At least celebs wear clothes made of things that exist in our world and as ridiculous as they may seem sometimes, they do still look like they fit into our world with how weird we all are. Glitter fashion is just non-existent in Runeterra as far as I've seen), >to that part of her origin story relating to the old lore of the Brackerns which they rewrote out to not make her problematic anymore (Brackerns used to be a race of crystal scorpions with their own society who went into hibernation because of a war, then Piltovans found them and started harvesting them to use them for their hextech. Seraphine used to be able to hear the souls of the suffering Brackerns still in the hextech crystals and the reason why this was problematic was because her floating mini-stage is built with hextech, so despite her having empathy for them, she still ends up exploiting them. So both this part of her story and the Brackerns had to be rewritten), >and lastly, to her in-game abilities looking like a rip-off of Sona's in-game abilities. TBSkyen & Nickyboi have explained this mess better than me so I recommend watching their videos on it. Nowadays, people hate her less, including myself. Legends of Runeterra redesign my beloved 💖
Pop/stars was the 1st K/DA songs and after a couple years, K/DA released and some say that in the return of K/DA, the budget was on Evelynn alone while others were overshadowed literally by her. You see in the lore of LoL, Evelynn is a succubus and in Pop/stars, it didn't show much that she is. She was shown more of a Diva that is egoistic of sorts and the return maybe shows her maturing. I love Eve and Kai'sa but I didn't expect to love Akali and lovin' her style as well.
12:11 how are u a hardcore Bangtan fan? Multitasking has been a must since Hybe introduced English subs to their videos. New fan maybe? No worries, you’ll get used to it. And it’s the song here is literally in English already 😭
If you like Seraphine, you also can check her covers, that was released as promo to her release (she had a twitter as teaser to champion release and collab with K/DA). Riot released covers on Childhood Dreams, Pop/Stars and All the thing she said, and also her main theme is full song, The Starry-Eyed Songstress p.s. shame that you skipped Baddest, great song, great typography
Someone other than Riot kept blocking the video because of Pop Stars and has even filed a claim on this video for the other songs so it’s a bit annoying on the backend 🤷🏽♀️
I knew it was LoL day but I certainly wasn't expecting this to be the subject of today's video! Great choice! So they aren't exactly cosplaying. Kda was created to promote a new skin line for the champions that are shown as part of the group in the videos. It doesn't tie to League lore obviously, it's just sort of like an imagine alternate reality where those champions formed a girl group and to promote this in-game skin line, Riot basically used an actual group of real singers to make music and they created these animated music videos to go along with it. Kda is one of the more popular ones but Right, have done a similar concept to this multiple times. The first of which was the Band Pentakill for the Pentakill skins and then there is True Damage which is more like a hip-hop group. Pentakill released a full blown album of songs but only one video, they also did a concert. Kda did release quite a few songs in an EP and true damage only had one song. And now of course their newest addition is Heart Steel which is Riots Boy group. Every one of the groups is for the same purpose, to sell in game skins for champions in LoL
Riot does not do youtube/content strikes on any of their cinematics or music videos with the exception of arcane content as that is involved with Netflix and any song that imagine dragons sings. Other than that you don't need to cut audio or blur the videos in your reactions.
@@RenaleighKNo, they don't. Sometimes RUclips is just acting weird for no reason. Companies outside of Riot, like Netflix, might copyright strike something related to Arcane, and, of course, Image Dragons music is copyrighted. But everything that is 100% owned by Riot is copyright free. I've never heard of any reactors getting intentional strikes from Riot, and believe me, I've watched A LOT of them.
@@RenaleighK Im not saying u're wrong .. but there's ALOT of ppl with full songs reactions with no edits., Same with Arcane .. except for Imagine Dragons - Enemy . There's ppl with FULL EPISODES reaction on youtube , full sounds/songs and everything. (*cough*flamingshark)
Also, I agree with you that the songs mostly feel fairly average, it's the videos that make them stand out to me so I mostly don't listen to them unless I'm watching the video with new people. I'm also a BLINK though, and I feel like K/DA really borrows a lot of BLACKPINK's sound but then blends it with more western pop in a way that I feel made it more generic and less interesting. Also, the fact that there's only four members (with a guest in MORE) lends to that claim, since before BLACKPINK getting *hugely* popular, most of the big girl groups had significantly more members, sometimes more than 10. BLACKPINK stole the show with 4 members and then just kept dominating the industry for years, and now we're seeing a lot more girl groups debut with fewer members.
Personally, I don't like male "Kpop" groups.. with very few exceptions like Jackson Wang or something. Though, girl kpop groups kind of standout more, maybe the songs are catchy to me.
So these are purchasable cosmetics for the specific Champions Ahri, Akali, Kai'Sa, Evelynn. They were released 2018 along with the HIT single "POP/STARS", and the Worlds Championship performance where holograms of the KDA girls performed live, The cosmetics appear as the KDA versions of the characters whilst in-game. Then in 2020 a new line of skins for the same girls came out along with the music video "MORE" and the controversial release of the pink (blue in MORE) hair Champion, Seraphine. Skin promos like these are huge (for example the entire Star Guardian line) since League of Legends is free to play, it was their main original source of income. Also, the KDA, Star Guardian and skinlines like PROJECT take place in alternate non-canon universes where altered versions of our beloved base Champions exist. Ahri for example, is both a leader of KDA and Star Guardians in two unrelated separate universes. And the appearance varies greatly as well. Ahri the base Champion has black hair, but the Ahris in Star Guardian and KDA are each blonde respectively. Champions have their unchanging qualities that one needs to look out for for identification (often the weapon the Champion employs). In the case of Ahri, she will always have the foxtail that splits to 9-tails and fox ears. Here are the base champions in these videos: -Ahri: the nine-tailed fox vastaya (humanoid/animal) from Ionia that you saw in "A New Dawn" cinematic. -Akali: the rebellious ninja from Ionia with the poofy ponytail. You saw her in the Ionia "Tales of Runeterra." -Kai'Sa: the sleek girl with the weird missile pod things floating over her shoulders. She was lost in The Void, a strange dark dimension where monsters/aliens exist to consume all... The Void... i dunno. Like Stranger Things or a breach into an alien dark monstrous realm. Whatever. Kai'sa fell in there as a child and emerged with a sexy viod-bio exosuit or something like that... -Evelynn: VILLAIN with the claws and whiptails. Evelynn is a powerful demon of agony (like the fire demon Tibault or Tibbers, Annie's bear). Basically a succubus. She killed the Champion Vayne's parents (Vayne is the crossbow sunglasses Champion you considered Evelynn to be in POPSTARS. The one in Sentinels of Light). Evelynn killing Vayne's parents led Vayne to become probably the most racist and prejudice Champion. -Seraphine: the girl with the super long blue hair in "MORE," is singing in Mandarin which gives her part in the song a beautiful softer contrast. The Champion Seraphine however was released during the pandemic via a large online media storm where, much like KDA, Riot made Seraphine an egirl personality amongst social media who confessed her issues with mental health, isolation and poor self esteem, and unlike all previous "fantastical" characters, tried to identify and connect with players as one of them. It was an awkward character release along with the successful 2nd KDA event. Many critics thought using a fictional character's fictional mental health issues as a promotion was in bad taste. Along with that, her abilities in-game were considered extreme at the time.

@YayReacts is because a Chinese character made it into k pop group or ot could be because she is not lore accurate..many reasons her play style I don't know !
The hatred towards her are really just hatred towards Riot Games with how they handled her.
>From how they first introduced her with her own Twitter account pretending like she's a real person with mental health struggles (this was before they announced that she's a new champion),
>to her outfit not fitting the aesthetic of Piltover & Zaun (before anyone gives the excuse of "She's a popstar. Glitter fashion is just non-existent in Runeterra as far as I've seen),
>to that part of her origin story relating to the old lore of the Brackerns which they rewrote out to not make her problematic anymore (Brackerns used to be a race of crystal scorpions with their own society who went into hibernation because of a war, then Piltovans found them and started harvesting them to use them for their hextech. Seraphine used to be able to hear the souls of the suffering Brackerns still in the hextech crystals and the reason why this was problematic was because her floating mini-stage is built with hextech, so despite her having empathy for them, she still ends up exploiting them. So both this part of her story and the Brackerns had to be rewritten),
>and lastly, to her in-game abilities looking like a rip-off of Sona's in-game abilities.
They are not cosplaying as champions, they are the champions. And there is anotger LOL champions boy group too
12:11 how are u a hardcore Bangtan fan? Multitasking has been a must since Hybe introduced English subs to their videos. New fan maybe? No worries, you’ll get used to it.
And it’s the song here is literally in English already 😭
If you like Seraphine, you also can check her covers, that was released as promo to her release (she had a twitter as teaser to champion release and collab with K/DA). Riot released covers on Childhood Dreams, Pop/Stars and All the thing she said, and also her main theme is full song, The Starry-Eyed Songstress
p.s. shame that you skipped Baddest, great song, great typography
I always get me laughing because of how Evelynn by herself make a lot of boygroups look like little weaklings beside her, she's just too diva
evelynn is a demon succub she talk about herself in the lyrics evelynn = ( a villain )
Im so glad that your still uploading, esp as a lol player. Always had comfort watching ur reactions. Big like :)
I really appreciate that thanks so much!!!
You can keep the whole song clear audio riot dont copy right their content.
Someone other than Riot kept blocking the video because of Pop Stars and has even filed a claim on this video for the other songs so it’s a bit annoying on the backend 🤷🏽♀️
Pop star is a banger
Every one of the groups is for the same purpose, to sell in game skins for champions in LoL
eve is the favorite of course. great reaction
Riot does not do youtube/content strikes on any of their cinematics or music videos with the exception of arcane content as that is involved with Netflix and any song that imagine dragons sings. Other than that you don't need to cut audio or blur the videos in your reactions.
They absolutely do, this is a common misconception and the reason she had to edit the audio in the first place.
@@AppleBaron they unfortunately changed their position somewhat about 2-3 months ago, from what I've seen/heard on other youtube channels
I think Riot only doesn't do it if it's completely by them. Not when they partner with other big Muscians like these.
I was a big kda hater when this launched back then but with time it grew on me. The music video though is def top tier.
Yeah the music videos are pretty dope 🙂
love it
react to Legends Never Die!! ❤ its a song too, of Worlds 2017, and it has animation too! but of the Champions
Love ittt
Love the reaction thank you! :)
I appreciate that so much thank you!!
Skipping the baddest!? That's one of my favorites! :/
I recently did a reaction to it, which is on the channel now too!
need to do true damages
Too bad you didn't do The Baddest .
Personally, I don't like male "Kpop" groups.. with very few exceptions like Jackson Wang or something. Though, girl kpop groups kind of standout more, maybe the songs are catchy to me.
Nothing wrong with that! I'm a BTS girl all the way through so I haven't really explored too many songs from girl or boy groups 🤭
who does a reaction video without the music? thumbs way down
i like more for the seraphine im not sure but she all AI? look up LURE - OH MY MY ho yo fair 2023 it more anima/cartoon artwork vs 3d?
Here are the base champions in these videos:
-Ahri: the nine-tailed fox vastaya (humanoid/animal) from Ionia that you saw in "A New Dawn" cinematic.
-Akali: the rebellious ninja from Ionia with the poofy ponytail. You saw her in the Ionia "Tales of Runeterra."
-Kai'Sa: the sleek girl with the weird missile pod things floating over her shoulders.
Evelynn is my favorite (the girl with the nails)
