Lyrics
Oh, place your hands on my hope,
Run your fingers through my soul.
And the way that I feel right now
Oh lord it may go
So place your hands on my hope,
Run your fingers through my soul.
And the way that I feel right now
Oh lord it may go.
Put your hands on, put your hands on.
Put your hands on, put your hands on.
You know you cannot hide, from what's inside.
You know you cannot hide, from what's inside.
So I ask of you, to help me through,
I ask of you, this thing to do
Put your hands on, put your hands on.
Put your hands on, put your hands on.
So lay me down, for a while.
Join my body, with my mind.
Oh, I cried at the common one
4 weeks aft' he died.
Put your hands on, put your hands on.
How lucky was I to be a teenager in the UK in the 90s. The best style, the best music , and so much bloody freedom. Oh what a time!
What a time to be alive were the late 90s… I have so much nostalgia lately…
@@TheJunebox thank for reminding us we in our our late 30/40s now ,,,, And please do not use the Term in our days like the boomers do,,, lets break with that tradition..
Yes 90s indie/ britpop was the best
Labour days👍
We had it large my friend. Freedom
Reading 99, sun blazing down, very hammered, Reef on the main stage sounding amazing! The good old days!
I was there don't remember much though 🤣
Yeah boi 🤘
shocking how this doesn't have more views, this was a song from my childhood, loved it then, love it now, just shows how music just isn't timeless anymore, still a classic 90's tune!!
British music in the 90's was just amazing. We had a cocky swagger, and no wonder. Nobody else could touch us. Massive Attack, Oasis, Portishead, Reef. The list of great bands was endless.
This is a classic of that era. Hasnt aged one bit.
Shame he has to pretend to be an American...
Jeez... Hyperboletastic shite yous are spouting...
baws28 Ya wrong. No one musically could match the UK’s prodigious talent at that time.
If it's on RUclips..... it's fake and gay
You forgot the spice girls. Silly Billy.
I was fortunate to see this guys live, in the late 90s in a small venue in Richmond, VA, USA. After the show the lead singer just hung around and my friend and I approached him, we went outside and sat on the kirb and talked about music for a while, such a fun and memorable concert!!!
Me too.saw them in denmark Copenhagen back then. Epic show ❤
@@DatterAfDanevang Sounds epic to me, wish I could've been there!!!
@@amazonseller-yf8vv and vice versa 😀 i bet all their concerts were a real blast.
This is one of those songs that puts you in a better mood. Love the rhythm!
This was the song I always played before going out. Legendary!
It's just a basic 4/4 beat
Don’t worry. You’re not the only one who is listening to this masterpiece in 2024! Still so vibrant, and moving...
Just listened to this song for the first time in 2024!
@@jrincon1625 itll be an absolute revelation for ya!!!
I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE THANKS MAN
Best era ever
😂yes! Indeed! 😘
"It's your letters, It's your letters". This song will have a welcome space in my head until i die.
No one else i say this to has a clue what I am talking about! Yes!!
TFI crew
He looks like an actual talented Vernon Kay.
Bring back the 90’s!!! Stop this 2020 train I wanna get off😂
Well said m8. When the world seemed sane, well most of us🤔😂👍🏻
Toot toot fire up the farkin steam train!tracks might change if someone gives you some direction 🕉️🌖I'm lit( no ego) STEAMROLLIN🌞
At least we could look cool in a nice knitted top in the 90's
When people lived in the moment and didn’t worry themselves about everyone else’s business.
Possibly THE most underrated band in rock. Glow has some of the best tunes played by four guys I have EVER heard. Reef could do classic rock as good as any band I have ever heard and Jimmy Page would be proud of the riff in I Would Have Left You. Buy their albums. Tell people who good Reef are. Get this band recording and touring again!
They are far from they time.
te haré caso
Reef
The Turtles
and A Great Big World!!
3 most underrated bands in rock !
I think most underrated would have To go to sugar ray respectfully
I never stopped loving this song.
Me neither
bad
Went to see them in 1995 but just to watch the support band Feeder. All these years later and I have worked with both bands and the pleasure is all mine.
Keep the faith you lot
What I'd give to back in this era.
Great time to be teenager.
Gosh.... seems decades since I actually FELT music. Forgotten about this one. 😙
The entire Album is amazing and was definitely among the CDs that helped me survive high school.
Yep..cool story brah...so on a completely unrelated tangent, you are willing to show me your hairy beaver?
Loved this song over here in the US !
Saw Reef tonight in Cornwall. Love this song!
this song is still played daily in Australia on radio stations!!! you guys Rock!! 🎸
😆😆 That's bcoz we love 💖 it!
We love Australia x
Surfers' anthem, lol
my parents still have vidoes of me running around with my hands up to this song when i was like 3 years old hahaha, childhood memories of this song are awesome
Still one of the best feeling songs of the 90s, just a great groove 👍
Got to see them in Vancouver at Club Soda great show great album.
My Favourite song of the 1990's. I love it. I've watched it that many times. Never get tired of it!
I'm from Houston, TX and I remember hearing this in the 90s late, late on MTV.. Running into this while watching Derry Girls in 2023 was a absolute delight...😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This list is Triple Js hottest 100. HOW CAN HALF THE VIDEOS BE BLOCKED IN AUSTRALIA?!
20 years after its still on my party playlist
that voice !!!!
Jesus I found it 😂 for the last few days I have been trying to think of this song!!! I could only think of the start of the song thank fook! We have to pick a song for my step brothers wedding in September and I think I will pick this
Are you still going with this choice? I think its perfect for a wedding 👌🏻🙌🏻
I hope that you picked this!!!!!
Astonishing how few views this almighty classic has had. One of the great rock bands and still crushing it live ❤
best rhythm and blues around 2000!
For 1997, the production of this video is absolutely amazing!
What an ignorant comment?
It was 1997 not 1897!
Omg it was 1997, not Victorian times!!! I was 17 and it still sounds as good today. Plus Gary Stringer was feckin gorgeous 😍
It's not exactly the stone age is it? 1997? I too was 17 then, and have fond memories of singing this at the top pf my voice in the pub... great tune!
@@smurfmummy3106 I was 17 when this dropped as well, great time to be hitting the late teens :)
Great vocals, great guitar, great piano great drums. Proper music
The US finally has Derry Girls S3, and it brought me here.
great 90's rock song from my childhood, reef underrated english band, love the voice from the lead singer so raw.
He wrote it when his grandad died.
Did anyone else think the first line went "place your hands, on my HOLE"?? Been singing that for years until I recently saw the lyrics. Awesome song :) !!
no.
Kate Wallace it's not?
FalseMayan Prophet LMFAO
Hope
Thought it was hole too
90’s."... last decade of fun but proper music, so glad to be a teenager at that time. Every generation will say the same I guess! We all get old and boring....
....well, getting old is if you're lucky, getting boring is optional.
Classic 90s tune, reminds me of TFI friday!!!
God loved that show
It's your letters, it's your letters!
Went to see them live 2night! They're awesome!!
What fried chicken joint were they playing at?
How many times did they play this song?
The greatest 'Last Drinks' song played at closing time at our local pub.
David Ginola has one hell of a voice on him.
Only 330,000+ views? This song deserves way more love.
It's been 8 years Clever, but the love has come. 4.8 million views. 🤘😎🤘
nearly 5 million now😅
what an opening what a voice what a fucking song
could not have put it better, top man.. love this song top[
God I remember this, Reef played at my end of year university ball in 2000 and there I met my husband and were still married, so this song brings back so many good memories.
That's beautiful. ☺
My condolences.
Have just seen Gary sing this tonight in a small setting accoustic and feel very priveledged. Was amazing!! Roll on their tour next yr!!!
Gotta Love 90s... Rock, dance, trance, eurodance, Britpop, sad pop. Nothing was perfect but it was perfect for people
Carnt argue withat after all I woz there !! X
@@leegoddard1867We needed that blissful touch of sadness of 90s after the hyperactive shiny 80s
I wish I was my age in the late 90s/early 2000s, the music and almost everything about that point looked so fun, no dressing to try and look rich, no cringey rap music, I don't even know what the top 50 are on the charts, just this vibe.
The fact you think rap is cringe... earns you a daft amount of respect in my book!
You couldn't get away from rap in the 90s, I'm afraid.
Don't forget, this was the era of Biggie and 2pac. Plus people like Puff Daddy getting rich off the ghost of Biggie.
@@WorldCupWillie
You could. It was there but proper music was dominant in the 90s. I remember it vividly because I was there.
Yep, I feel exactly the same.
@@WorldCupWilliewell 2Pac wasn't cringe, he made actual decent music. But HipHop certainly wasn't dominant in the UK until Eminem and 50Cent.
Saw them last night in Neath, Wales 😂🎉
Heard this at a bikers weekend and every time i hear it i'm reminded of fantastic times with like-minded people!
Takes me back to summer 97 on the Victorian surf coast: Apollo bay, Torquay, Lorne. Great song and great memories
It's taken me over 20 years to realise this guys voice is hilarious.
This will always remind of the BMF Members Bike rally at the East of England Showground, in a huge marquee everyone pissed having fun no trouble all singing along to this fantastic song.
Once in a while the British music industry misses the chance to promote what we do best.
They were obviously fast asleep when this band were wide awake.
I think that Chris Evans promoted this band plenty on TGIF!!!
@@FF-uq6vl T.F.I.Friday i believe
What do you mean this tune was huge???
Glow was my first Album CD purches when i was a teenager, it still stands out til this day
I Miss the 90's
We all do
At least we were there. I've met Gen Z, A etc who wish they grew up without phones, etc. It's a given to be dissatisfied as a human, that's why the Buddha. Bliss for you :)
This playing on the radio back in the day while I was decorating my bedroom, spliff on the constant!
Saw Coldplay live last Saturday and these guys were supporting, New fan. They were great
i saw Coldplay in Manchester but they had some crap on 1st so wish these guy were on 1st. put your hands on,😉
What an odd pairing though
almost 22 years old, this song.. i still have the 2 softpack cd singles that they released for it 👍
Forever a tune !
I always wondered what a collab with Beth Ditto would sound like, those two voices together would shake the ground!
Who want's to go back in time?
(MTv 90's Hit)
A banger from the 90's.
I wanted him to put his hands on me ...talent ♡
This band should be big again in US, like, right now.
Definitely one of the best tracks ever.
This is magical nothing less, guy singing this is next level
How weird anyone gives this song a thumbs down!! Got to be wooden and envious. Saddos.
One of the single greatest examples of misheard lyrics from the 90's!! Gary Stinger you mushmouthed magnificent bastard keep on rockin!!!
Woohoo! Love this track, awesome band hailing from the beautiful Glastonbury!
I'm working security at a festival with reef playing this weekend and can't wait!
A great number of songs are just great by themselves. They have an inherent quality.
This one?
I can't see this one being all that good sung by anyone else.
That voice, man.
Just makes me grin.
I sitll remember the moment I first heard this song. I was watching the TV and while browsing through the channels I ended on MTV. I kept going but I realized I heard something that really caught my attention, so I went back and they were broadcasting Reef during a concert, and they were playing this exact song. I was immediately caught by theirs sound and the performance and thankfully they wrote the name of the band.
the day after that I bought the Glow album and I loved every song!
that album still gives me shivers down my spine and blow my mind every time I listen to it
They Remind me of R.A.C Band Called =
“BRUTAL ATTACK”
Some of the best music unknown to the masses 🍻
My daughter was born and this song was on in the background. Of course this was over 16 years ago, but still it sticks with me.
wow.
I still can’t help but sing
🎵IT’S YOUR LETTERS, IT’S YOU LETTERS🎵
Remember that too . . . . .
Came looking... wasn't disappointed.
you got the wrong one amigo. Noah's killer question - Evans' son Noah asks a question in order to try and put them under pressure. It's Your Letters - Viewers' letters read out. Introduced by Coldplay
It was rude not to......
@@JR-xt4tt No, I've got the right one. You're thinking of the wrong decade. "It's Your Letters" was a segment on TFI Friday back in the 90's. Noah's Killer Question was from when they tried (and failed) to revive the show in 2015.
This powerful song pulls at your soul.
The coolest and strongest song ever !
One of the coolest donc
Beautiful song and beautiful band! Excellent drummer who played an extraordinary groove with his Hayman drums. You are very strong guys!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think I met this band in a parking lot in Scarborough, Ontario in like maybe 1996 or 1997. They gave me a cd and tickets to a concert. Still to this day this is one of my favourite songs.
You're lucky it wasn't Scarborough, England. That place is a renowned shit hole.
I met u all at my ant and uncles home way back in the 1998 ish mark funny as I had no idea who u were lol 😂
I'm an American who heard this song at the end of an episode of Derry Girls and thought "What the hell song is that?!" Adding Reef to my list.
Heard this on the radio again the other day and haven't been able to get it out of my head. What a banger 🤟
I love when that happens. 🤘😎🤘

just spent an hour searching for this song, worth every minuet.
Liam Burlace solid minuet
so Liam you danced while you looked for the song? A minuet is a dance.
I was searching since 1997
@@peterspry2969 wow now you must feel really smart 🤣
Just kidding, no offence, it's actually a good joke
Always loved the bit when he says in the song,
‘Alright lads’
Reminds me of the the days of £1.20 a pint and good times!
That was just in a bog standard pub where 'students' were considered among the regulars and nobody hated anybody. RIP good times.
This and In The Meantime back to back. 90s best decade .
18 years on and this is still one of the coolest get up and party songs ever....
Some of us were very happy driving along in me landy defender. Great tune anyhow.
Oh the sweet sound of the 90's....
Listening to this gem in '24 and an instant smile came to my face when this track started ❤
Probably Somerset’s second best band after the Wurzels!
that guy has huge range, so many great songs
Happier times!! 💙🎼✌🏼🏴
i'm singing 'put your pants on' to my 4 year old. That guitarist made Reef, love to know what he's doing now.
2018... this song's 22 years old.... I'm middle aged. WTF?!
just accept it. its less painful lol
Yep but you are not alone we all think the same.
Innit!!!
I'd rather grow up with music like this, then the utter shit they've got now
@Eliza Lopez The sad part is that people were saying the exact same thing 25 years ago... and they’ll be saying it again in another 25
Had the cassette of their first . Reef .one of the best of the 90s . the last decade of Rawk !
Thanx Derry Girls for the reminder💯😍
If there was a better decade than the 90s, I never heard of it !!!
Singer has such a big voice, it’s a shame they didn’t get bigger.
Stones-based quality. Me at Monday night at Cardiff University. Stupid, looking back.
