- Brimful Of Asha is from the classic When I Was Born For The 7th Time album. It was John Peel's Festive 50 no.1 on BBC Radio 1 in 1997, and this version made it to no.1 in the UK charts. Norman Cook liked the original so much he requested to mix it himself, and it resulted in one of the most well known tracks that the world has ever heard.

My dad sometimes played this on the car stereo throughout my childhood. I'd never tell him but it was my favourite song of his, many happy memories.
Reminds me of my childhood summers. What a glorious time to be alive.

1998 was the greatest year of my life.
I'm 45 and live above a corner shop.
I am lucky to grow up in Europe in the 90's. BRING ME BACK MY 90's DAMMIT!!
This song is how my mum named me, I have a great mum:D
Oh man... this takes me back!
Ahh when MTV still played music and not fake reality shows.
Good times.
***** Watched VH1 all the time as well ;)
We're getting old man :(
Brilliantly original and fresh even after all these years. Always makes even a miserable old curmudgeon like me feel happy.
How the hell can this be 15 years old already ? Man I miss the late 90's, so much good music !
My mum put this one a few days ago and said I used to sing it all the time with my dad when I was little I was born in 94 and this came out in 97.. Weird how You can still remember songs from years and years ago! Good song thou! Why can't music today be like this!!
Was about 7 when this came out. Used to take the radio into the bathroom, recorded it onto cassette, used to bathe and just rock out to this. Haven't heard it since I was about 10 now! Had it on repeat for 2 days. Yesterday walked around my house with a brush pretending it was a guitar.
Live in remote China and showing people this, they love it too! Nursery teacher too so cant wait to go to work, bop out with my kids to this. They need the same experience of this that I had when I was a kid.
This and "jamiroquai - virtual insanity" are my earliest memories of music.
Ahh, Jamiroquai :)
I kept looking everywhere for "45 song", found nothing. So I asked the weird guy at my work and he not only knew the song i was talking about but he knew the band and owned their CD also.
I was obsessed with this song when I was a kid, I still think it's great now! Was listening to this song on New Hits 98 album :D
FINALLY FOUND IT !
BACK TO THE 90'S !

They're both good. I like this remix though because it sounds more cheery.

I'm hearing this for the first time and I love it! And I'm old enough to remember what 45's are.
This song reminds me of when I was a little lad. In my dads blue nissan on a hot summers day. Love it
I had a dream I knew all the words to this song. When I woke up it had come true
Listening to the original, you can't help but think John Peel was still with us and had put it on at 33.
For no reason this song has haunted me for weeks, walking down the snow covered streets: It's a brimful of Asha on the 45!

Old School!
There's dancing
Behind movie scenes
Behind the movie scenes
Sadi Rani
She's the one that keeps the dream alive
From the morning
Past the evening
To the end of the light
Brimful of Asha on the 45
Well it's a brimful of Asha on the 45
And dancing
Behind movie scenes
Behind those movie scenes
Asha Bhosle
She's the one that keeps the dream alive
From the morning
Past the evening
To the end of the light
Brimful of Asha on the 45
Well it's a brimful of Asha on the 45
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
Mine's on the 45
And singing
Illuminate the main streets
And the cinema aisles
We don't care bout no
Gov't warnings,
'bout their promotion of a simple life
And the dams they're building
Brimful of Asha on the 45
Well it's a brimful of Asha on the 45
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
Mine's on the 45
Brimful of Asha on the 45
Well it's a brimful of Asha on the 45
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
I'm singin', and dancin'
