That lady was hilarious. "There's not a sign that says 'We will tow your car'. There's just a sign that says 'No Parking'"
they have parked there for 38 hundred years since Jesus was wearing short pants.....and they put down gravel in front of their own property so that means they can park over on someone else's property too
I would like to know what TN laws are. Some places, the signs where they tow from (Five Guys) are not legal signs. If they were in GA, those signs do not meet the requirements for it to be towed!
@@jonathonwerntz6499 Here in PA there is no need for signs on private property such as a home , I would have a vehicle towed in a heartbeat if they parked on my property without my permission .
@@jonathonwerntz6499 some places do not need to coddle the dumb.....the sign says don't park there what more does one need to know.....and clearly the 5 Guys sign is legal since they have towed about 50 cars from there on video and other places around town have signs with even less information on them....and 100% of the tows are called in to the police minutes after they are executed
@jonathonwerntz6499 check again. If you leave something on private property. You have sovereign right in Georgia to move it
When I bought my house I had several occasions that I’d meet a car halfway down my driveway, it’s 1,000 ft long, and would have to back all the way out or they would back across my lawn so we could pass. The neighbors and their friends would use my gravel driveway, cutting across my property line because their driveway was “too muddy” and they’ve always done that. Well, new owner (me) and a new automatic gate prevents that. They said they assume they’d get a code for the gate, I said no, I pay for and maintain the driveway, gate, etc. and don’t plan renting access. They’ve not spoken to me since but started using their driveway, except when it rains, then they park and walk.
The gate should end your frustration and put the frustration back on the rude neighbors. People are so stupid!
@@kayfurlano1462 that it did. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for me, they’ve got much bigger problems they’re dealing with for the foreseeable future. My driveway got abused by the popo, local VFD, and TBI a couple months ago when I was asked to leave it open overnight because theirs wasn’t passable.
That is good for you with the gate. I agree 100%. The neighbors need to fix their own driveways!!!
As they say, fences make for better neighbors.
I'm going to be moving & buying a house & I'm explicitly trying to avoid just this kind of situation. Satellite shots show random two-track between this property & the neighbor's? Forget it. Shared driveway? Forget it. Etc. Really would like to minimize conflict with neighbors without just building an 8-foot concrete fence-bunker, LOL.
@@shell4747Before buying that property, you should insist upon it being surveyed. That way, you will know precisely where the property line is and what you can do to mitigate any conflict with the neighbors.
I find the "Where am I supposed to park my car?!?" to be VERY bizarre logic. Maddening.
Agreed. If you have too many cars for your house then you either need to sell some or rent a storage garage. We have that issue here with the townhouses. They have enough room for one car per townhouse then they just park them wherever they feel like it. One guy was parking down from their driveway on the sidewalk. I called parking authority and they had it booted then towed. It was b-e-a-utiful .
How about “how am I supposed to get there?”
And I thought the Bay Area was crazy 😝
there's plenty of space off the side of the cliff guys

At least that lady who was told a fib by the illegal parker finally understood that his vehicle was not parked in the gravel area and that eventual understanding on her part was only because Jeff was patient enough to calmly explain the situation more than once to her.
It would have made more sense to the real homeowner if she were told the towed car was NOT parked BETWEEN the stairs and the trash bins. She wasn’t getting it at all.

I've been watching your video's for almost a year and love them. I am 64 years old and have been coming to Gatlinburg almost all my life. That apartment parking situation is ridiculous. Unless they properly adhered the sticker to the windshield, I’d have towed it anyway.
The owners/managers of those apartments should upgrade the parking stickers: Have the apartment number on each one, and have the apartment manager physically attach each sticker to the windshield. No more "trusting" the tenants to do the job. (And the stickers should be water proof if attached to the outside of the windshield, or have the sticky stuff on the face of the sticker and attach it to the inside of the windshield.)
This problem is completely due to the management not following through with stickers on windshields.
@@TomCat13461 Putting the vehicle tag # & the VIN # on the stickers is the ideal way to go in my opinion. Makes Jeffs job so much easier that way. There is no ambiguity and it stops dead the practice of sticker sharing. No more bs stories from people claiming all sorts of nonsense to try and delay the inevitable.
Of course if the office was capable they could gather that info on each vehicle prior to issuing the stickers and give the list to Jeff. Then he can look up the sticker number and it will list the color, make, model, tag & vin for that number. That would give him multiple reference points in case the vin is intentionally covered or whatever.
Seems like management is a big problem at this building. They let things get so out of hand before they acted which just makes it harder for everyone. That includes them, the rule following tenants, the tow company and even the jerk tenants who are breaking the rules.
They don't stick it so they can run out and protect whatever car they have sitting there that day. It wasn't in the car , it was in her hand when she came out.

Not their place to make them out the sticker on. A couple of drop or tow fees and they'll get it figured out.
@briangereau788 I have a feeling that the property manager gave Everything Auto exclusive towing on that property IF they agreed to handle these situations without calling them or the owner. It may not be there place to make them put the sticker on, but they could just tell them that if we come back in 10 minutes and that sticker isn’t properly applied we’re picking your car up again because that’s what we are told to do.
@@scottmichaels6854 agreed. Let's face it: there's a good chance that sticker wasn't even for that car, so let renters worry about it. Just take the car if there's no sticker. Sooner or later, paying for parking will seem like the better option for the offenders
@@briangereau788 they cannot force them to do anything, but they can inform them that every time they show up and the sticker is not properly applied it will be towed.....every single time

@@AW-yv9sq Why not on the outside?
@@buckeyejen1076it can be stolen or damaged from bad weather .
They probably just didn't examine the sticker close enough to see where you peel off the clear and then adhere it to the inside of the glass. I've never seen permit stickers (nowadays) to go on glass, put on the outside. There's two logical reasons for that, first of all it would be very easy for someone to take and second it wouldn't last very long exposed to the elements.
Whatever happened to Common Sense?

Hi just a bit of suggestion to quell the illegal transfer or usage of parking stickers is for the property owner/manager to ensure that the sticker was physically placed on the authorized car and not left to the discretion of the lessee. This is likewise to dispel the notion of connivance.

You both have the patience of Job!!
The vehicle was NOT blocking a driveway and/or access to private property, a private No Parking signs means squat if the vehicle is parked in public easement and the government has not deemed this area as No Parking Zone. How is this a public area you may ask? All publicly maintained roads/streets paved or not, including the sidewalks are areas assigned for the public use. Even when no sidewalk exists, citizens may access this area unless otherwise posted. For a public easement, generally, a width of 30 feet is fairly common HOWEVER in Gatlinburg it may not exceed 26 feet in width. So it is safe to say that since the south lane of W Holly Ridge Rd, has probable 1ft for pedestrians access, the north lane is mainly used safely by pedestrians. And since this is not assigned as No Parking Zone, the caller had no right to call for the vehicle removal unless it was blocking property access which was not. It does not matter if it was paved, graveled, landscaped, beatified by private money. It would is still be considered public easement where the car was sitting and without a rezone and a government No Parking sign and or a trespass warning this is a Karen move to call and have the vehicle removed. Jeff you were in the right doing your job, but in this case, the caller was in the wrong therefore so were you on their behalf.

The spot where the white SUV was parked, IS NOT the woman's property. She may get a little POed when she finds that out.
One commenter looked the property up and discovered that not only is that not their property, where they took it upon themselves to put in the gravel spot and where their trash cans are also part of the neighboring property. They are going to have an absolute meltdown over that for sure. And upon watching the vid a little more carefully, at 1:18, above the rear window of the car up on the hillside, you can actually see two of the survey markers, which to me at least, seem to indicate that the trash cans and part of the gravel parking area are part of the currently empty lot. That being the case, the owner of the lot could have the white vehicle towed as well.

I've lived in foreign countries with my personal vehicle, it's not complicated, get a little pocket dictionary for the applicable language, read signs, translate if you don't know😂easier now with Google traslates no excuses
The law says it not the police!
@@bethewalt7385 Even better is that there are apps for your smartphones that translate for you, either by taking a picture of a sign, or having the phone listen and translate the convo to text or voice. Heck, my newest hearing aids even have a translate feature on them.
I have neighbors that have lived beside me for 10 years now. They still don't speak English and do whatever they want to despite the City laws. I'm sorry, but if your living in another country you need to speak or understand the language were you are living!! If your here for vacation or such ok. Pretending to be ignorant just dosen't cut it for me anymore!! Having to deal with 25+ people living in a 3 bedroom house & parking in your driveway(and in your yard) then shurgging their shoulders when you have to go ask them nicely, several times a day/night because your blocked in your own house/driveway. Shurgging & making hand signals like they don't understand. It gets old after 10 years & I see the residents in the apartment complex doing the same thing 10 years down the road there. It gets old folks!! And they really don't care how much trouble it is for you or take any accountability for their actions. The excuse? They don't understand because they don't speak English. Yes, I'm over it!!😂 And yes, they have a driveway of their own but not for 25+ cars. So lets just park wherever we feel like it.
I bet your neighbors would start to understand if you just call to have them towed every time they are on your property.
@@kathywidner5467I'm kinda afraid of them to be honest, I'm really nice to them so they won't do anything to retaliate against me.😣 They do more than park on my property. When I say they don't follow city laws, they don't follow ANY of them.
@@fleciashreve2313 , no one should have to live in fear in your own home. There has to be something that can be done with this problem.
I almost can guarantee you they understand. Some people will take advantage untill you make a stand.
@@ghall2067Other neighbors have called the police on some of their "activities" & it didn't go well for those neighbors. And the police didn't do anything either. It seems useless, they even drilled into my waste water line & hooked theirs up to it. I called the city & inspectors came out & said they couldn't do anything about it. But!! If it leaked I'd be responsible. The inspector saw it went right to their house & had fresh cement on the top of the pipe. He said it's in my yard so I'm responsible. They get away with everything they do sadly.
I love how people think you have a responsibility to help solve their legal problems. Bless you for helping them.
Another great video. Just keep being awesome and safe
How about this for a remedy for the sticker issue, have the lease agent witness the sticker being applied to the appropriate vehicle at the time of the lease being signed, end of problem. Not brain surgery, then when someone is towed, none of the excuses will hold any water!
👍🏻
in the first or second video dealing with this the owner or agent said there seems to be an issue with people renting these apartments and then subletting them to "large extended families" (IE people that are entitled and that do not follow laws and rules) and I think they are having to tread carefully getting all of that cleaned up
@@rodrod383 I think personally that this country needs to stop treading so carefully on people who have no respect for our rules and laws, if you choose to come into this country have the intelligence to try to assimilate by the law of the land, not bring the attitude you had that was born in the country you’re now fleeing from because it has become a toilet.
Hey Jeff and Kristen! I'm so glad we don't have too many of those kind of idiots in the UK (at least when it comes to house parking - you either have a driveway, or it's street/communal parking), I'm actually thinking of renting out my driveway M-F, as I don't use it much (my garage/driveway is around the corner, between my neighbours)! Another great video, love the content!
Of course not in UK. People are reasonable there. They talk over a cup of tea.
@@chuckh4077 So, you've never watched any dashcam vids from the U.K., correct?
@@Procrastinator1948 I have. I remember lots of " oh dear, bloody hll, cheerio, I dare say, wnker, "and more.
My family was in Gatlinburg this last week and didn’t have any issues or problems with our car being towed. I guess that’s because we parked where we were supposed to park. I did like seeing the old normal towing sites like the church lot and 5 guys.
Stick it! LOL. The person who gave you the sticker gave instructions.
the best part is he just took it and stuck it on the car.....hopefully that car is the one that is there the LEAST often so the ones that are there more that need the sticker more often are now screwed for playing games
When apartments have limited parking they really should assign each apartment their own spot. That way they can rotate vehicles as often as necessary. I imagine the sticker method being a pain for families with more than one driver.
I think this apartment property manager needs to implement tougher policies.
yup first thing is they need to say the sticker has to be in this location on the vehicle or it goes bye bye
i'm sure they did tell tenants WHY and WHERE to place stickers!!!@@jays106
hire an onsite tower?
I don’t know, it’s been pretty lucrative for Everything Auto.
@forthefunofit3230 Why would the apartment need to hire an on site tow company (I assume you’re not talking about a tower like the Eiffel Tower) when they have Jeff and Kristen and don’t have to pay them a dime? The tenants have to pay the fees. Sounds like they give Everything Auto exclusive towing on the property and in turn ask them to keep an eye on the lot. It looks like a good money maker for Jeff and Kristen. I’m sure they’re happy with the way it’s being handled.
Hey Jeff. Since you tow for that townhouse parking lot maybe you could get a letter from the management with instructions to show the people. In the letter it should specifically say that if the sticker is not visible on the outside of the upper driver’s side corner of the window that the vehicle will be towed. No excuses. If it were me I would have insisted that she put the sticker on the car or it would be towed. At the same time I would not have charged the drop fee if they did put the sticker on in front of you. There is nothing to keep you from towing that car every day if the letter from management says so and there is no attached sticker. No one will steal the sticker if it is numbered as it can be tracked back to who it was issued to. Furthermore they can start a list of non valid stickers and provide them to you. Good luck, stand your ground. And on a lighter note-I hope you and the family have a Happy Easter ✝️
