Illegal parking, jerk on the phone, illegal plates, drugs, attempted break in, unregistered vehicle, PROBABLY no insurance, has the gall to try to bum a cigarette, THEN starts crying like a kid. And the police let him go????? I would have received 3 tickets and been fingerprinted for B&E. How come I get away with nothing and others don't even get a slap on the hand! @@itslaboosh Because if he returns a vehicle to a rental company or dealership with other peoples stuff in it that would be called theft.
@@itslabooshWow. If you’d paid attention, Jeff was looking for proper registration/ownership for the vehicle! This was even verified by the call to the dealership, (Remember? The tag was expired so Jeff called the dealership to figure out exactly who owned the car? He’s required to do this because if he gives the vehicle to the wrong person, Jeff’s in trouble for it.)
If Jeff stumbles across illegal substances, I imagine he’s compelled to report it just like any other first responder. I’m just shocked that of all the off the charts idiotic things this dude did (illegal parking, harassing phone calls, attempts to break in, driving on woefully expired tags, etc.), you’re not even remotely upset by those idiotic shenanigans, nor do you bother to comment on them. You chose only to comment on Jeff’s reporting of the illegal marijuana which is nothing but a footnote to the entire situation. That says more negative things about YOU and far more positive things about Jeff!
Yikes!
Having worked at a few GM dealerships, I can say that reputable new car dealers don't just give people plates to use. That's a huge no-no. Buyers are given a temp tag and sent on their way. So someone at the dealership forgot to take it off, or accidentally left it in the car when it was sold. Either that, or these two stole a plate off of another car at the dealership when their temp tag expired.
It's amazing how people can buy a new car and never have the money to register it
My daughter just bought a new car and the dealership handled everything, she got her new plate in the mail a couple day's before temp expired. @timferguson8654
Amazing the officer allowed him to drive away on expired tags from another state especially since he has had the vehicle since July. Also amazed no ticket for the expired plate was issued. They guy caught way too many breaks in this video.
Probably no insurance either.
That’s the problem. Why are the cops not enforcing the laws? A damn shame
Why did they not ask about insurance?
The cop didnt hear the call with the dealer so he didnt know the whole story. Jeff didnt mention it either prob just wanted dude to be gone. He just said the dealer wasnt sure what the deal was with the tag which is half true.
Probably a misdemeanor. Plus being out of state it would be a confusing nightmare. It's better off just to have them get back to their state.
That guy was a liar and a thief from the beginning. Just because you lost a relative; most people just immediately turn to a life of crime. Attempted B&E, illegal drugs, expired registration, ahole on the phone if he chooses to use it, holding back tears saying he's scared, and the maturity level of a 9-year-old boy. What a catch. Claims he drove from out of state to get a (minimum wage) job at the space needle tower. Sounds logical to him. From the front plate which the dealer did not put on, it looks like he's not making better decisions. Probably thinks he can get away with whatever illegal activity depending on who's president. @Whats Up Attempted Burglary IS a crime. He was very obviously messing with the lock, weather trying to pick it or trying to see if he might happen to have a key that he thought might work, or just hoping the lock was not secured, he was trying to enter the property. Now one might wonder WHY would he be trying to open the gate? One could assume that they intended to unlawfully take their car without paying the fees assigned to that car, ie, THEFT from Jeff and Kristen.
Simple burglary is the unauthorized entering of any dwelling, vehicle, watercraft, or other structure, movable or immovable, or any cemetery, with the intent ...combined with the intent to steal property or commit a felony. The two parts - unlawful entry and intent of theft/felony - are the essential elements of a burglary. And even IF they failed to prove both of these points, he can still be convicted of criminal trespass or ATTEMPTED Burglary.
@@mikeberger5025 They DID verbally TELL him to stop and leave the gate alone MORE than once. Live camera systems like Ring doorbells can be considered, 'In Person' and yes he heard it because he stopped what he was doing when they threatened to call the cops. They SHOULD have called the cops as soon as he came back to the gate and started again. It IS sad what meth does to someone's brain. but that's on them. and Yes, you CAN get arrested for ATTEMPTED Burglary. As far as the pot, the guys window was down so the cop could have smelled it but after asking about it was told about it by the guy. Also the story about the tag makes absolutely NO sense. I doubt a dealer is going to give you a dealer tag and let you drive around for FOUR months OUT OF STATE! Just bring it back whenever and we will get you a plate. That is NOT how that works. Cop could have taken the expired out of state tag off and held the car in their impound thus racking up more fees and storage but he did not. All in all he is lucky to not have been given room and board at the Crossbar Motel.
@Whats Up A well said and educated response!
People get too caught up in the drama instead of actual facts.
Under the Common Law, Burglary also required the structure to be occupied. Most states have modified they definition of Burglary and thus Burglary varies from state to state (in some states Burglary is no longer a crime, or more accurately it is no longer called Burglary).
This is because how bad Burglary was defined under the Common Law and required to be redefined in modern criminal codes what use to be Burglary is often now called Breaking and Entry, Trespassing or just theft.
I like how the officer didn't shake his hand because he was a scumbag.

Right!! My son in law owns a car lot, and he has 3 dealer tags. They are ONLY for him to take with him when he is buying vehicles, OR for people to test drive vehicles. He never should have been given that dealer tag, then say the person told him to drive it to Cali on it then come back months later???...Naw, I'm not buying it!!
I helped a dealership trade cars with other dealerships, sometimes they like to do swap outs with others if the inventory sets on the lot without selling for a long while… for those we would use dealer tags even going out of state but we would take them back home on the traded vehicles on way back
I'm glad to see there are/is cameras at the lot. That Officer is super cool.
I guess the dealership plate covers his expired reg? Great job as usual.
I feel for anyone that is going through hard times. However, this couple brought everything on themselves by making all the wrong decisions. God bless you for keeping your patience even when he was trying to break in. Merry Christmas y’all.
HOLY COW!!!! Talk about someone having a bad year. He brought that entire situation onto himself by making g a series of bad decisions. And when you had the police show up with you, it was crazy that this guy has expired DL, expired tags, attempted break in, AND WEED! I didn't know if I should feel bad for him or what! Even the Chevrolet man was scratching his head on the tags.... " if he bought the car within the last couple of weeks I can understand but he's been driving around like that for 4 months, that's on him." He probably can't get the car registered because of his expired DL. Who knows. Just started watching your videos a d this one was a doozy. Thank you for what you do and be safe out there!
Thank you for another video. It is appreciated! This guy definitely needs to get his life together. He had the deer in headlights look the whole time. I sure hope he can get himself together.
What? You caught me being stupid? He was a moron, violated several laws, lied about it, and got caught on camera. I don't believe anything he said, from being there on a job application, to the family illness, etc.
This was a can of worms to untangle! Good going!! No tag also means no insurance so the car should have been impounded too!
We’re the party of Law and Order son!
This one was crazy. You handled it very professionally.
Great vid !! Sounds like these folks are down on their luck , hope it works out for them !!
What a hassle. Glad you have a good lock on your gate.
I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt molding
You guys are way too patient! Disappointed in the police for not placing this under arrest. Attempting to break into a facility is not ok!
