    What an outstanding model layout and a very original way of showing it on video. In the new world order of lockdown and drastic changes and modelling exhibitions all but gone would you consider making longer version of your layout. The details and it's history linked to your skills on construction would be awesome. Thank you for sharing.

      Many thanks! Yes, I have been postponing making another good operations video of the layout for sometime now, especially with nighttime scenes, but other things keep me from getting to it! Hope that I find some time in next few weeks. Thank you for looking. 🙏🍻

      Thank you very much, I am glad that you enjoyed this. I am going to revamp this whole layout in next few months - pretty much a rehab of sorts. The scenery is already redone (check my latest short, I will make a full video on that), I will convert this to DCC, rework on the lights and repaint and weather most of the models to bring it up to my standards today before I call it done. Will be a fun series - stay tuned. :) Cheers! Kaustav

      Same here! I lost the 3V line that had some delicate bulbs and LEDs a few months ago (cost of going cheap with your wall transformer!) and haven't managed to fix the lights since then. Once they are fixed, I am planning to do a detailed nighttime operation video. It is quite fascinating to operate a layout in complete darkness apart from just the lights you see on the layout.

    Great video. It is awesome to see an analog layout that of such high quality. Please show how you wired the motion sensing sound sometime. I think that would be a great video. I haven’t seen that done before.

    • @TrainsandDioramas
      @TrainsandDioramas  4 года назад

      Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. :) The motion sensing sound is actually in the train, not on the layout. :) Here is what I used: www.train-tech.com/index.php/sound/sfx-sound-capsules - this capsule is hidden in the depressed flatcar behind the loco. Hope this helps. Cheers! Kaustav

    • @mr.e1944
      @mr.e1944 3 года назад

      @@TrainsandDioramas I looked into the six capsule and it would cost 45 pound plus shipping. This would just give sound effects based on motion. I found that if I buy Ring Engineering CI-1 usb interface for $39 US and a LMS-3 chip for $79 US that would give me DCC, wireless operation and real controllable sound for my trains. I just plug the CI-1 usb in my laptop and I have full control of my train. Of course if you don’t have a speaker in the engine you will have to add it. Not bad for about $110. I think this is a far better option. And since the chip is wireless you have the option to go battery power too!

      Glad you enjoyed it Norman! I am anxius to finish it, and a bit reluctant at the same time. This little layout has kept me in the light in times of darkness and the thought that working on it will be 'over' someday is tough. But I will get the boat yard done soon because that will really add a different dimension to the whole scene. Thank you for stopping by. Cheers!

    Awesome layout. Lots of detail and looks to be a fun switching layout. Maybe a video of it in the dark showing all the lights instead of just in the bubbles. The overhead recording was different and I'm not sure how to feel about that. I would definitely like to see a video shot from the side like most do when giving a layout tour. You have such an excellent layout and have done an amazing job on it I'd like to get another viewing angle of it to see as much of it as I can. Great video in aspects of being clear and focused and highlighting things in the red circles was a neat idea. Stay well. -Wil 👍
    So I watched 3 times and have decided I like the satellite view mixed with the wormholes. The first time it was hard to look a both so I watched two more times. The second i watched the satellite view specifically and the third i watched the wormholes specifically. I seen a lot more things those two time than the first. Wow the cranes are immaculately well done from the build to the weathering. As far as that go everything is done that way. Great stuff. Stay well. -Wil 👍

    • @TrainsandDioramas
      @TrainsandDioramas  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much Wil for great feedback and watching it 3 times. :) Here is an old video where the same operation was shown from a normal perspective: ruclips.net/video/8gWCbPDq8Yk/видео.html with a little bit of satellite view which didn't work that well. I couldn't really show all that I wanted to show in that video, so I thought I'd make a short follow-up showing some good photos and continuing with the story a little bit, pretty much like an outtake. :)
      The night time operation is long overdue, no question! I meant to do that a few months ago, but a faulty wall adapter blew my entire LED line just a week before I was about to shoot that, and I haven't got a chance to repair the line yet. As soon as those lights are fixed, I will get to a proper nighttime operation video, promise!
      Thank you again for stopping by, Wil. Take care,
      Kaustav

      No need to say sorry, it’s absolutely fine! I love peanut butter, but it might just kill someone else. That doesn’t make peanut butter bad, but might be the worst decision for someone to try it if that person is allergic to it. Video and music are personal choices so it’s no place for absolutes I’m afraid. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
