    Total respect, Blaz. The amount of times I hear pilots blaming everything but themselves… But, as you said yourself, you learnt something. I tip stalled a Spitfire a couple of months back and learnt something from that too. Every mistake makes us a better pilot. You are lucky that the plane has so little damage. I look forward to seeing it fly again. Of course, while you are repairing the nose you may as well fit an engine while you're at it! Robert: you get the prize for the funniest quote: 'It's a beginners plane but you have to fly it like a professional'!

    Firstly Capt Blaz you MUST respect the propeller when the motor is armed. Electric power is quiet and relaxed flying and good for the plane with very little vibration. Get all fixed, fly it again and you WILL love it. I too years ago flew only nitro, electric was toys i thought, but now i have some 6 cell planes and I like them, So Salute, repair the plane with care and love..:)

    I had a Cub like this one a few years ago, I think it was a "World Models" brand. Looks identical. Mine was also 6s electric, mine also crashed on the maiden. I was so pissed off I was going to throw it in the bin, but someone took it off me and fixed it up. He also crashed it. He fixed it up again and gave it to another guy, he also crashed it. I ended up buying a Hangar 9 Cub, it flew perfect. What can I say, I just think some models don't fly so well.

    oh man.... it could've been a lot worse being that it is a balsa construction, I think Capt. Blaz might have landed this one hard just because it had electric motor... I hope I come across a video of this repaired with a 4-stroke nitro on it!! salute!!

    Cubs are famous for tip stalling.
    It tip stalled. He recovered it. Then he hit the throttle and it torque rolled.
    He also torque rolled it on takeoff. Wings have no life at low airspeed. Wing tips on cubs have no lift at low airspeed. You can't mash the throttle on a Cub at low airspeed.

      Fly it off the ground, it takes a few flights to get use to a cub!

    • @nonsequitor
      @nonsequitor 5 лет назад

      Absolutely....what puzzles me tho is that models don't vary the airfoil section to give a lower stall speed at the tips...it needs undercamber but Cub tips are the opposite...

    • @SomeTechGuy666
      @SomeTechGuy666 5 лет назад +1

      @@nonsequitor I wonder if it is the wing camber near the tips or if it is because the tips are rounded.

    First I thought this video was from last years summer or so, because captain Blaz wearing a t-shirt, but then I realised it being from yesterday. You are really lucky having such nice weather this time of the year. I live in Vienna only a couple hundred kms away and it‘s rainy and cold and windy.
    Nevertheless your videos are so much fun to watch and so close to real pilot life - you know what I mean 😉 I could feel the pain captain Blaz must have had in this moment. But a couple minutes of diagnosis later he was already looking forward to his redemption flight again. Thank you for showing us those less lucky moments though.
    Please tell how the repair and redemption flight went. Cheers 👋

    Capt Blaz, you got it spot on. Tip stall. Piper Cub or Tiger Moth, these planes can bite you if you fly too slowly and turn too hard. Besides its not right. A plane that big should have gasoline engine in it so it makes so noise.
