- You’ll love these delicious cheesecake brownies with a rich, fudgy chocolate base and a light, perfectly sweet cheesecake topping swirled with chocolate. The slight tang of cream cheese really compliments that chocolate flavor and makes for a balanced bite.

I really like how you don’t cut out the bloopers. It makes the videos more real, like I’m actually sitting in your kitchen waiting for a bite.
Thank you for your recipes
This is my third time making these decadent cheesecake brownies for my job (they were requested again, lol!). Thank you for sharing such amazing recipes in such a detailed, fun way! And yes, I only bake when sharing because otherwise I would eat the whole batch in a very short period of time...
Hey can I ask which company Chocolate chips and cream cheese you use?
Hey, do you know why he melted the chocolate chips with the butter in this recipe unlike in the original chocolate brownie recipe? In that one he added the chips into the batter and stirred. Thank you if you can answer my question.
@@AinaShoaib I use Guittard chips and Philadelphia cream cheese
Same.
This guy looks like he would be an amazing neighbor lol
Literally my neighbour invited me over to bake these with her. She gave me the recipe and everything. I don’t know why I’m watching this video XD
I would go over to "borrow some flour"... and be like hmm what's cooking??? Hehehe by the way so cute when he said "I like the corner pieces, in case I ever go to your house". So cute!!
For reals
probably not for my diet, but swell to be around
Always sharing treats and cakes!!!!!!!! I would give him a key after awhile cuz i would be so big i couldnt get out my house🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
What’s great about baking is sharing it with everyone. After I got married and we moved away I slowly stopped baking bc it would just take us forever to finish desserts. I mainly made things I can freeze like cookies and just pop a couple dough balls in the oven when we craved. Now that we have 3 kids my husband and I hopping back into the baking train and I’m so excited. Can’t wait to try this and see my beautiful babies dive into their first brownie and first cheesecake as a combo!
Ever since me and my mom started making homemade brownies we had been obsessed with preppy kitchen. So on Christmas my mom sent me a baking set for my present and I became sort of a little chief in our household. I have been making a lot of deserts that turned out to be amazing. I have really enjoyed this recipe and insist that people watch it too
“People ask me if I add vanilla on everything”
John and I in unison: Yes!
🤣
Angie Rodriguez he said or lemon in another video
I just love your recipes and how informative your approach is. This is my third week making your recipes, I started with the Éclairs (tasted great but looked terrible), then chocolate banana bread (YUM!), and now my cheesecake brownie is in the oven, fingers crossed! Thank you for giving me different ways of gaining weight!
I love your recipes! You never cheap out on the good stuff and they’re always moist and rich. You are so amazing!
Glad you like them!
Can u please tell how much this will be ?? As in this quantity will.make 500 gms of brownie??
@@PreppyKitchen can I have the recipe for this
@@mulavila1019 you can find the recipe on his website. The link is in the description
Made those for my boy friends birth day yesterday and he couldn’t believe how fantastic these were. Best recipe for brownies I’ve ever made.
Ok. I just made a double batch of this incredible cheesecake brownie for a family get together. It was a hit! I used a cookie sheet with parchment. Perfect thickness and even level of cheese cake to brownie. Fudgey, cheese cakey deliciouw! Thank you so much!
My grandfather was a country gp, who lived by the motto: "everything in moderation."
One Christmas, about 6-7 years ago, I made cheesecake brownies, something a little bit new and interesting in Australia.
Before leaving to travel home, I left him with several leftover cheesecake brownies.
The following week, he rang my mum to chat, and admitted he'd been unwell with a migraine. Concerned, Mum probed him about it further. Finally he admitted it was a chocolate migraine, from gorging on cheesecake brownies! 😂 Cheesecake brownies drove Mr Moderation into madness!
That's why I need to make this recipe...a fun way to honour my grandpa, who has since passed away. Plus, an excuse to try out newly available lactose free cream cheese! 😉
Sorry for your loss but what a beautiful memory you have to hold forever💜
CHOCOLATE! One of the main causes of MIGRAINES. Caffeine, Caffeine, Caffeine! Who cares 🤣🤣🤣! Just eat with a Tylenol chaser.....
Aww thats a lovely story
YES!!! I bought lactose-free cream cheese for mine! I dislike having to eat tablets for reducing the lactose with each serving.

I think this will be our anniversary dessert!! Today its 3 yrs since I married my soulmate!!
john, i know you like tips so here’s mine! i’ve perfected a cheesecake recipe over 8 years (i like to make them into little cupcakes). it’s very similar to yours, however, i do add about 1/3 cup of sour cream OR plain greek yogurt with a tbs of lemon juice. it gives the cheesecake a nice tangy flavor i know you’ll love!
Hey Gabriela, so you add those amounts to this recipe? I usually use sour cream and lemon juice also...Is it weird there’s no heavy cream?
@@staceymaepearlnolan2089 my measurements are not quite the same. i like to watch my sugar intake so, for instance, for 16 oz of cream cheese i would add 1/3 cup of sugar, not 1/2 (especially since the brownie is already very sweet). also, i do fold in whipped heavy cream to my batter as well! gives it a very light and fluffy texture
I love your recipe with the layers being separated, rather than swirling the cream cheese through the brownie mix. Thank you!
My son's champagne birthday is coming up. This recipe combines two (three) of his most favourite - chocolate, brownies and cheesecake. I used to make him an Oreo cheesecake for his birthday but man that is a lot of cake. You need a lot of people on a cheesecake. This recipe is much more realistic these days and oh so "simple"! Thank you, John. :)
I tried this recipe, but I used half the amount of sugar it asked for and substituted all purpose flour for wheat flour. It was still impeccably delicious. Thank you for this recipe!
Ty for this !
Interesting, concerning how sugar is considered to be a liquid in batter, since it melts during baking. I guess your baking tine was shorter this way, right?
I made these for a family reunion and everybody loved them!!! This was also my first time making a cheesecake and it turned out so well, amazing recipe :)
Same here
Did you follow the video recipe or the blog post recipe? Because both have different baking instructions.
@@krissypearson8410 I made them last night. They look beautiful and they have a nice rich chocolate taste but they need several modifications to improve the taste and texture and the blog recipe does not match exactly the directions on the video. I found them too sweet, gooey (that's because the written recipe reduces the temp to 325F...) greasy, and I could taste the salt. I did use scales to measure the flour and sugars. I understand he is not a chef, so I appreciate the idea and his effort to make all those fun videos though. I will definitely make them again with adjustments.
My son wanted brownies for today, his 16th birthday!! came out so good!! thank you for your delicious recepies 😄
I made these for a family reunion. They were a big hit. They were the first dessert everyone went for. These are so delicious
I love that you use a kitchen scale and always include the gram measurement, thank you for this channel💖
My local bakery has been making these for 6 years and I absolutely love them!!!!!
I tried this recipe and you know what? His recipes don’t disappoint💕 The brownies are legit fudgy and trust me the cheesecake is so rich and fantastic💯
Is this really sweet?
Oh yes there is way too much sugar in there!
Made this for the family. My nieces approved of my baking for the first time! Thank you John! 😉
I tried this recipe in 8” square tin. I don’t know what I did but i think I needed a bigger tin it grew like a cake but it did not fail on looks nor taste!!! Absolutely gorgeous!
I just love you so much, john! I have followed so many of your recipes and my husband and I devour all of it the moment it is prepared. Love from India!
Also, I'm sure everyone feels low sometime. But you and your videos lift my spirits like no other. Watching you and your videos is like therapy. So much love ❤
I actually came here to watch your bakings and recipes, but I actually end up watching your videos more and more because its so fun, watching you bake as well as how you explain things make it sound so easy and fun. Hoping for more videos!!! Yay lots of love ♥️
I've used this recipe twice now and it is AMAZING! All my family members were so impressed. Thank you so so much for sharing your recipes ❤
Hey, do you know why he melted the chocolate chips with the butter in this recipe unlike in the original chocolate brownie recipe? In that one he added the chips into the batter and stirred. Thank you if you can answer my question.
I swear this channel is so underrated
my two FAVORITE desserts cheesecake and brownies
I tried this recipe today, and it’s the most delicious brownie I’ve ever made. Talk about comfort food. Thanks so much. Have to be careful though, it’s so good, you have to know when to stop.
I really love & appreciate people who bake. They always look so happy ☺️
This was so good! I put too much cocoa powder by mistake and added more butter to fix my mistake and it still came out good, it’s like a chocolate bar with yummy cheesecake on top, delish!
Hi there. Hoping you can help. What was the consistency of your brownie? Mine is pretty much how is tasted when it was raw. And I cooked it 40min total. I'm putting it back in the oven now but it's been in the fridge for 2hrs. I made two batches. The one that I took a piece out of, I noticed the brownie batter started melting pretty much. Ugh I'm so sad idk what to do
@@lns4life the consistency was very smooth, like solid fudge. It is similar to the batter but it is cooked, smooth and warm. If you were waiting for it to be spongy, you will not get that. He said in the video it won’t come out as a cake.
@meeeeeeee82 hmm. It was pretty much like the batter. Didn't seem cooked besides the edges. Did you try it after refrigerating?
@@meeeeeeee82 I could still taste the sugar granules
@@meeeeeeee82 how can I tell if it's cooked?
This is the best Cheesecake Brownie recipe I have found. Love all the recipes from this channel I have tried so far. Keep them coming.
Made this with a box brownie mix n it was still so good
lol!
It’s always better from scratch though.. it just takes patience to do it from scratch
I must say this recipe is amazing!
Made the brownies for a lady that loves brownies and she said those were the best she had so far( I've added some roasted walnuts and hazelnut for more texture and they turned out perfect! ❤❤❤❤ thank you so much for the recipe
I made this but turned it into a red velvet brownie… my clients absolutely adored it!!!
I make this recipe allll the time, it is amazing! usually, instead of swirling on brownie batter i melt peanut butter and swirl it on. It tastes AMAZING!! Highly recommend this recipeee

This is literally my two favorite desserts combined!
I love how you enjoy what you are doing. I do believe happiness adds flavor to your baked products.
I love his tutorials.....I've learned a lot from this amazing teacher.
I made these and they are really good! I reduced loads of sugar (130g each instead). After baking, the brownie just seemed so wet and the oil and batter seemed to be separated. But id already baked for the initiate +45 mins. So I just took it out (almost threw it out) and put in the fridge. Overnight, it firmed up & became a fudgy brownie
You and I are kindred souls when it comes to brownies. If I want cake, I'll make a cake. Brownies are meant to be fudgy and chewy and you can't change my mind because I've had cake brownies and they're ALWAYS too dry and bland. Where my fudgy brownie gang at?
I’m just finding you.....life=saved! I generally get annoyed and can’t sit through an entire video cooking tutorial. You’re entertaining, adorable and your food looks gorgeous!Cannot wait to try these. Tonight. Making them now. Brownie cheesecake is my bff’s favorite dessert, she’s gonna love this!
i am by far a baker.. i dont even cook lol but i am looking for something to make for my mom and dad for christmas and to take to dinner on christmas day and i came across THIS GUY!!! thank you, but how much is "1 1/3 cup of chocolate chips"?
3/4 cup of cocoa powder is 75g btw
*Me:* diet going according to plan!
John:....😈
Go on a see food diet 😈 see the food and eat it allllll (well, in small, moderate amounts)
Your channel doesn’t fit well with this comment 😂
Been making this many times, and was a successfull since the first time. It is the best brownies I've ever had, I couldn't eat other brownies anymore now lol. But I reduce half of the sugar in the recipe because it's too sweet for me as an asian. So grateful for finding this recipe, will try his other recipe as well.
I'm on a diet, why am I doing this to myself? This looks AMAZING and I can't get enough of your delightful and soothing demeanour.
Haha I LOVE how you are so awkward, passionate, funny and most importantly yourself in ALL your videos! You are absolutely my favorite baker!
It loooooks soooooo good when I start baking I will definitely follow these tips and he is right cream cheese is the best
The difference between your trivet and a kitchen towel is that the kitchen towel doesn't let the bowl dance - whereas the trivet sways it everywhere and you may actually lose control of the bowl and watch is slide onto the floor. That's the true function of the towel - no sliding, full friction.
I like how natural he is! He makes mistake and just laughs! Love it and keep it up 👏
"You know I love a homogeneous mixture" I love you. So many times I see baking videos and I die a little more each time they don't use a spatula to scrape the sides and bottoms
Note, for anyone, like me, who is going to make these after printing the recipe there are some differences. First - The printed recipe says to use a 8x8 pan but he used a 9x9 in the video. I don't have an 8x8 pan and I jury-rigged my 9x9. Luckily I watched the video before I spread the cheesecake layer, so I scraped the batter into a 9x9 pan. Also, the printed recipe doesn't say to reserve 1/2 cup of the batter so I reserved that when I put the batter into a 9x9 pan. It also says; "Add chocolate-cheesecake spread with skewer." I found that wording really confusing, especially since I didn't know I was supposed to reserve 1/2 cup of batter. Anyhow. It's in the oven and I think it will turn out. What I learned is I should watch the video, print the recipe, and make sure everything is the same.
Same concerns here! So contradicting issues
Also for the sugar in cheesecake, granulated or powdered? Have to read blog, read recipe, watch the video, connect the dots and seperate the dots, then best not to follow
Yes, I *love* this channel, but that's my only complaint: the procedures sometimes don't match the video and details and ingredients are quite often left out of the written recipe. I think he needs to hire a proof reader!
Having to go to 3 different places just to make sure you've got the recipe right is probably why I haven't made these yet. I'm not down with running around the net, just to make sure I'm not double and triple checking myself to make sure the dessert comes out correctly.
& Watching the video at 1.25 speed to follow along isn't ideal either.
this has happened on several recipes of his i have done. it is a bit alarming the accuracy isn't always on point. i need to be able to trust the directions....
My main issue is that the post says to bake the brownies 1st, then add the cheesecake batter and bake again
Made these today, and they came out amazing! My kitchen is a disaster, but it was worth it. Thank you! 😊
Baking with you is just so amazing! Clear and simple! I thought to try it out immediately after watching this video, only to realized that I have no butter and it about 10:35 in the night😂😂❤️👏👍

2:56 to anyone who may have used 1 cup flour because John said so, kindly look at the ingredients list on the screen once before you start gathering or measure your ingredients.
It is 120g of flour.
And 200g of sugar.
(For both he said 1 cup where the confusion may arise)
I used this recipe yesterday and let me just say it came out AMAZING! Thanks so much my fam was in love. ☺️
Was it very sweet? I saw in the video so much of sugar so i not sure if its too sweet.
For the brownie:
1 cup (226g) melted butter
1 1/3 cups chocolate chips
3/4 cups cocoa powder
1 tsp of salt
1 cup (200g) light sugar
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
1 cup (120g) flour
1 tbsp coffee
1 tbsp vanilla
2 eggs, 1 yolk

*16oz creamcheese = 454 g
According to the recipe in his web, the bake time is
350°F / 177°c for 10 minutes then
325°F / 163°c for another 35 min (or until less 'jiggly')
Total bake time - 45minutes
Then i let it cool down to room temp for a while before chilling it in the fridge to set

Amazing . I love chocolate and vanilla both . However , if somebody has an allergy to eggs , what can we replace them with ? Plz reply . Your fan from India .
Yes. You don't need eggs in a cheesecake. You might want to add a tablespoon of flour, but that's not necessary either, depending on the consistency of your cream cheese (whip it well).
You can use fruit purée, like mashed bananas, or cooked and mashed apples, or you can add butter milk or similar instead of the eggs to help bind the ingredients and add moisture. The brownie might have a different texture, or flavour, but it can still taste good.
His personality is AWESOME ❣️
