Oh boy this is going to be a long running series.
Episode 2-7 will be about cyberpunk
@@ixyzyxi The entire release with all the missing promises was a mistake entirely 😅

Hopefully they'll switch to Jake
I'll tell you right now, as an Allan that spells it the exact same way, when i found the placholder message in Hitman: Bloodmoney I thought some freaky shit was happening. I was only 13 at the time and my mind was blown wondering how it knew my name and what it wanted me to do. As an adult now I find it funny to think back on, but man was that a trip.
That's a pretty cool story. Especially since it was probably before games got really meta
This is a great topic today and hope you guys continue this one.
Thanks
1:05 the possible explanation for the dragon butts is that all the dragons were killed by the gods and all their heads kept for trophies, possibly the wings too, so the remains of the dragons somehow wound up in lost izalith (possibly for the witches to experiment magic on?) and thats why we see them here. It is fucking weird though I remember encountering the area for my first time and seeing 500 dragon asses wandering around
Yeah no.. this is just an asspull speculation, they'll literally said that this was a rushed are which is why the boss sucks and other enemies are just previous bosses.
@@StallionFernando the enemy placement was rushed, thats why the area isnt fun, but this lore explanation is accurate and it most likely explains their design..
@@stevowilliams8279 it's much more than the enemy placement dude. You could literally look this stuff up instead of making random stuff up on the spot...
@@StallionFernando i know my dark souls mate dont ask me to look shit up. Im talking about the enemy design.
@@stevowilliams8279 this post isn't about the enemy design it's about the lore and rushed structure of this area.
Never played no more heroes, but wouldn't that make his brother assassin #4 so he takes 5th after him?
thank you for saying this so i didn't have to.
exactly
yeah i guess falcon totally forgot that travis' brother is also an assassin so he took it out of the equation
Well when they play through every game in one sitting I'm sure they do get some details mixed up here and there.
Psychic type is like the mind. The minds weakness is fear. Three biggest fears in the world? Bug, Ghosts, and the Dark.
That's how I've justified it Falcon. Great video man.
Huh, i've never thought about it like that. That's actually a PERFECT explanation! It's always bugged me that bugs were on the list, but I totally get it now
I don't know if it's necessarily that those are the BIGGEST fears in the world (hell they may be, too lazy to check), but rather they are all fears of the mind which is what psychic types use for their power.
Edit: basically what you said lmao 🤣
It’s cuh bugs have simplest brains n mind games don’t work
Can't wait for the Public Speaking type
oh thats a rad way of looking at it, i always assumed it was becuase bugs dont really think much to begin with, so psychic would be powerless against them
The OG Dark Souls fans all know about the door in the sky. It was our dream to reach the door someday, which would totally use the pendant to open it. Obviously not, but a man can dream.
Praise the sun, one day I will reach it.
\[T]/
There’s something similar in bloodborne
To explain some of the mistakes:
Game development is chaotic sometimes. I spent 10 years as a video game tester, and sometimes you'd write up an issue like placeholder text or textures, the dev would fix it, you'd confirm the fix, and then at some point something broke or something (the reason wasn't always explained to us) and they had to roll back some files. Because the issue is small it's sometimes not found again, so the issue is never reopened. Sometimes it is reopened, but some higher up says it's trivial and waives it. Sometimes it's deemed too high risk. It's late in the project and messing with this one thing might cause bigger issues somewhere else, so it's just not worth it.
Was about to start binge watching older videos but saw you guys just posted! Lucky me

I appreciate how you guys decided not to play the line that was messed up. Really informative video
So disappointing
Fairly certain a few words in the search bar would find what you’re looking for.
@@unintentional_smile no duh. But the point of like this is to inform and excluding that defeats the purpose
A video like this*
Well complaining about something that you can easily search yourself is a waste of time. They said what the line was. You didint complain about them not saying the no more heroes line about the 3 assassins but you complain about this? Either be consistent or dont complain
I'm really hating the new not showing the dislike ratio button. It gives me the wrong impression that this video is recieved poorly (which I'm 99% sure isn't the case at all), because it's hidden, rather than achieving the intented purpose from RUclips.
I bought blood money shortly after it came out and binged the hell out of it, but still missed the description lmfao
Just finished playing Halo 2 with a buddy and I remember the needler sentinel but i never noticed it was the only one in the franchise 😂 great video
About the Oblivion outtake lines being left in, I don't remember exactly where it was said, but the entire script for NPC voiceover work was hastily put together after some kind of mishap or something.
Where the lines had to be printed out a week before the deadline and all the takes were done in said week. All mostly unlabled and in alphabetical order of lines. The fact the game came out like this and only had a few goofs in the VO work is almost miraculous.
I power laughed when I played Blood Money and saw the Allan text box. I appreciate the nostalgia, thanks Gameranx!
There is a (potential) reason for Pokémon's psychic weakness to bug type actually : most people find bugs creepy/scary which, in a way, is an "attack" on the person's psyche.
At least that's the only way I see it making some sort of sense.
If I remember right they were trying to make it so psychic weaknesses were phobias.
@@relishcakes4525 Yeah that was pretty much what I was getting at, just couldn't phrase it right in the middle of the night.
i think of it like geeks and nerds are brainiacs, and they don't spend time outside.
so when a 'psychic' encounters a 'bug' its like they're out of there element and freak out to it.
I remember the speculation videos claiming the joker drank the cure and placed it in the wrong hand. It was a massive speculation that many people believed including myself. So I suppose after Arkham knights release it shuts down the speculation completely. I could only imagine what would have been if they went down that avenue. But nah just an editing error.
My favorite is in Crash Team Racing. When playing as Penta Penguin, you can occasionally trigger temp audio of a developer saying “penguin yay 1” instead of Penta’s normal dialogue. They reference it in the recent remake, too.
Shit that's a classic one, I used to play Penta cause that specific voiceover was like a pinch of extra fun to the game lols
Bethesda be like - From now on bugs will be called mistakes
And mistakes are just happy little accidents
Exuse me FEATURES
Why would you include the oblivion voice line if you're not gonna play it so we can hear
Atreus making fun of Kratos for thinking that giants are actually giant would have been a fun addition. 😀 (considering in the game the giants are extremely large)
lol, I played through Arkham City several times and never once caught the hand switching thing. But, now that I am seeing it I cannot figure out how I missed it lol.
4:00 Can you imagine being one of the few people who found the cypher and being likre "Wow, I'm gonna read that message and learn all kinds of secrets about this game's plot!!" lol
Needler is never a mistake, that sentinel is the most powerful now
I remember being so confused in twilight princess after picking up that green jelly
Just something I heard but the reason for that was because it was supposed to restore magic in the game but later on in development they scrapped the idea and forgot that blue plus yellow equals green and left the empty box lol
When they inevitably remake Dark Souls they should have that door lead somewhere. Not sure where lore-wise would make sense but I’m sure they could come up with something cool.
Would it be Dark Souls: Remake or Dark Souls: Remastered Remake?
@@The_Breaded92 good question. Also would it be any good considering that it probably wouldn’t be From making it.
Or better yet.... Put another door next to it. Same as before it doesn't lead anywhere but now there's two of them
@@HandmadeGoose97 this is getting out of hand!
I worked as a VA recording engineer for EA and frequently had to record and edit 10s of thousands of lines. 99% of Actors make mistakes, it's never a big thing, but you HAVE to be on your A-Game when you edit them in post because it feels like the most tedious job and it's super easy to make mistakes if you drift off (not that I ever did...)
7:01 missed opportunity to use the "Math is math!" Mr. Incredible meme in place of Picard lol
That needler sentinal was the runt of the litter. It's trying to gain it's family's approval. Don't crush its needler dreams.
The Green Chu Jelly/ green potion, was originally going to be used to restore magic power. During development of Twilight Princess though, they scrapped magic power from the game. There was an interview if I recall correctly where they talked about it. It is one of the few Zelda games that exclude magic power.
Another banger video from Gameranx! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do!
Along with the Dark Souls floating door there's also the floating statue in Bloodborne. I think these sort of things are funny and reveals the humility in game developers, when it doesn't get out of control and run rampant ofcourse 😅
The door by the Cleric Beast’s Bridge is definitely pretty infamous to. The door can’t be opened under any circumstances from both sides of it and there is no explanation given for that, it can’t open. Probably was meant to be a shortcut but for some reason it never was completed.
This is the best gaming channel! Great job as always!
I actually never noticed the Arkham City mistake before
In Final Fantasy 6 there's this weapon, the "club", for Umaru(the sasquatch), but Umaru can't equip anything except accessories.
5:42 would have liked to have actually heard the line.
However, it does remind me of a part from the original Spyro 2 where if you talk to one of the hippos near the end of Shady Oasis, at the end of the dialogue, you can faintly hear someone say "yes."
Hah man it's always great to hear you do these.
I was 12 when I noticed that Pokémon continuity fail. The anime had an entire arc where Ash borrows a Haunter to challenge the Saffron City gym leader. However, when I played my games, she’d mop the floor with me! In fact, Psychic was immune to damn near everyone in the original games. I’m not sure if the Virtual Console versions were patched but they certainly fixed the games by the time the remakes started hitting store shelves. Can’t confirm if it started with FireRed/LeafGreen but it was fixed in the Let’s Go titles.
That's crazy. I literally just played that level in Halo 2 and I thought it was just a different sentinel. I had no idea it was a mistake lol.
More of a glitch, but I remember when first playing Blood Money we were really stuck on the Whitehouse mission and on my friend's turn he went all "fuck it" and just sprinted past every guard and it somehow worked. Ran through the metal detectors in the beginning and set the alarms off, and as guards were running to respond they ended up opening all the doors for him. Shot anyone that got in his way, barely stopped moving the entire run, and somehow managed to not die and got a mission complete.
On the end of mission newspaper, however, all that was displayed was "Error on line 4". Apparently the game couldn't handle how brazen his run through was!
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess was originally meant to have a magic meter, which would be refilled with a green Chu. But they scraped the idea and forgot to completely remove the green Chu entirely.
When something like this happens in a game, a wizard did it.
the no more heros one does make sense as his brother is the 4 assassin now
The only Ghost type move in Gen 1 that did damage was Night Shade which deals damage fixed to your level regardless of supereffective status. There were only 3 Ghost type Pokemon in Gen 1, Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. All Ghost/Poison type. That Poison dual typing is why all 3 suffer weakness to Psychic type attacks. They were never immune.
I like that From Soft left the sky door there in the Remaster, why mess with what works. Let's hope Elden Ring has a boss battle behind a sky door that you reach by rolling of a cliff at the right place only to be caught by a dragon and flown up to the door.
Finally a gameranx countdown video with Sonic in it!
The Allan mistake is especially funny when you think of that dream sequence in Jurassic Park 3!
*The following is the opinion of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] "Just to clarify, that meme-able scene is the one where Alan Grant has a PTSD style nightmare where he is on the plane when he is suddenly confronted by a raptor which says his name in the voice of his assistant who was trying to wake him up while they were on their way to Site-B! Its hilarious both in and out of context!"
You are my big inspiration for becoming a RUclipsr
Alot of people are shy/afraid to start, but if you build it, they will come! People visit this site because they want something to watch. Why not you?
i got so happy when you mentioned zelda tp, one of my fav childhood games
LOVE ME SOME DAILY GAMERANX! SWAGATRONIC!
You guys couldn't let us hear the flubbed line from Oblivion?
In Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, there's a lootable item called 'Royal Kerchief' with an icon that is a big pink boxes with text inside saying "I need a real icon".
The bug weakness makes sense.
It is based on fears
Bugs, ghosts and darkness.
I never noticed the ghost moves not working lol. The ghost moves were pretty bad anyway haha. Same with bug, I just used slash and quick attacks to take put psychic types haha
Bloodmoney npc's crack me up. They're so goofy sometimes. 😂
7:08 The mistake of Falcon shifting in his seat. You can hear an audible click. Similar to the sound my gaming chair makes when i lean back into it. haha
In farcry 6 the bz19 sub machine gun says in the description it has a grenade launcher attached to it when in fact its just the magazine.
The original Resident Evil game has a weird moment where if you the Yawn snake in the right spot, Barry will just walk through it and still be asking if you found anything interesting.
waited 12 am for a new vid here in Swaziland 🇸🇿🇸🇿 love y'alls vid
❤️
i like the fact that someone decided to add the text "allen please add details" instead of just adding the details.
In Ancient Domains of Mystery the devs left in references to the "Scroll of Omnipotence" that led players on a wild goose chase even after Thomas Biskup repeatedly admitted that there was no way of getting it. In the ADOM Revival they implemented a way of getting the Scroll of Omnipotence, which is way harder than finishing the notoriously tough game, and so far the scroll could not be deciphered.
3:04 "When in reality it was just Rocksteady pulling a Bebop"
To be completely fair, Gen 1 Pokemon only had three ghost types: Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar, all of which are ghost/poison but again, are also the only ghost types in the game. And yes, psychics aren't weak to ghost like they should be in Gen 1, and the reason it's easy to miss is because the only two damaging ghost moves in those games are Night Shade and Lick, with Night Shade doing unique damage based on your level so it skips effectiveness checks (even today), and Lick being such a weak move that most people forget it early in their movesets. Super interesting video!
Good list thank you .
The biggest video game mistake I missed was Anthem. That entire game was a huge mistake, and I didn't play it and never will.
And the fact you can see the bed chaos arena from the outside by looking to the side of the entrance is a fun one
I disagree with the Batman one. Paul Dini, the writer for the first 2 games, didn’t return for knight. Plus the game pans on the right hand and focuses on the vial as well.
I could be wrong, but for a game that focused immensely on detail and clues, I don’t think that was a slip up.
When I was working at Midway we caught one like this in The Suffering: Ties That Bind. There was a part where a section roof falls down, and before they had added the debris to fall, they just had a picture of the Hamburglar saying Rubble Rubble stuck to the ceiling in its place. Almost made to release.
I loved that game
The “Sky Door” sounds so majestic…until you actually see it 😂
I wish you mentioned that there were spoilers because now i got the whole batman series spoiled😭
I remember the Sentinel , thought was odd but never a mistake
It was deadly with that needler
Aw, you didn't play the Oblivion voice line so we could hear it?
Digimon World from PS1, the spanish version. You can´t finish the game because one agumon at certain point of the game doesn't have its line. Meaning you can't talk to him and progress the game. This happens early in the game so as a kid I felt really frustrated as why I couldn't finish that game and why I was so bad at it. 10+ years later I downloaded a rom for PS3 and got to finish the game in english which is not bugged.
The biggest video game mistake I had missed so far is Battlefield 2042
I'm pretty sure that in the first Fable getting infant silver keys from Rose Cottage was probably a mistake, but I always did it. Though you can't do it in aneversry edition.
true
Falcon: "Nothing is perfect..."
Me: **looks at the Last of Us games** "Umm... Say what?"
7:24 The most common reason I've heard, and it makes sense so it probably is the original intended logic, psychic type weaknesses are (or at least were) supposed to be linked to fears. Fear of the dark (once that type was introduced), fear of ghosts, fear of bugs.
For the zelda one you can actually see a description in the item menu
I love ur vids❤️

"BIGGEST MISTAKES!"
First entry: "Yeah, it's just a floating door that the designers forgot to delete"
*close video*
I don't think the Bioshock one is necessarily a mistake but rather something that no one was supposed to find so they just went with something meaningless for those that did. A troll move basically.
The same sort of thing is done in the game zork at the beginning of the game. There are some runes on the wall of the house and if you ask the game what they say it reads;" This space intentionally left blank".
"Players thought the vial switching hands was a hint at the next game"
Me: *nodding along* "Ah yes, I see, they thought he got punched into a mirror universe."
"They thought the Joker switched the vials"
Me: "Oh"
I didn’t notice until someone mentioned it to me but in Fallout 4 Far Harbor on the top Floor of the( Cliffs edge?) hotel the glass for the entire floor is off rotation and clips through the walls and floor.
Small mistakes people miss. Can’t expect all developers to be completely perfect. Especially after years of development and they just want to get it finished
how did i grow up playing red version a thousand times, defeat the elite 4 countless time, and capture many glitched pokemon with the missingno glitch. and still i never knew this was a thing. fuck abra for always teleporting.
"Biggest mistakes you missed"
*Proceeds to list like seven mistakes pretty much everyone knows either from personal experience or from being repeated over-and-over online*
I'm pretty sure the green jelly has no text because the jelly itself was supposed to be removed as it no longer served a purpose.
0:26 seconds without hearing dark souls
The no more Heroes games I would definitely play those they honestly seem like really badass games Sonic 06 is my favorite except for Kingdom Valley you know the part everybody does when you have to do the running segment
For no more heros maybe the answer is one of the assassins was actually a set of twins? Lol
love the sky door, cuz at least in my copy of bloodborne theirs a floating statue in the beginning of old yharnam
Thief:Gold has a reference mistake that makes speed potions unavailable in the shop on The Lost City on Expert. This mission is the second longest in the game.
A caveat to the Pokémon bug: it wasn't that Psychics were immune to Ghost moves, there wasn't any damaging Ghost type moves in R/B/Y besides Nightshade, which did fixed damage everytime based on the user's level, so you couldn't get a super effective hit. They were only immune to Lick for some reason, but Lick was useless in Gen 1 anyway. Also, ALL Gen 1 Ghosts (there was only 3, the Ghastly line) had the Poison subtype which made them all dirt against Psy. This basically lead to Psychics being absolute beasts in the meta and basically pseudo legends.
Oh boy my face is going to be tired at the end of this one 😂
I love the Oblivion flubbed lines
I'll tell you one mistake I never miss is when the developers set the default view angle so the horizon is halfway up the screen instead of 2/3. It makes you feel like your character is looking up all the time. Red Dead Redemption 2 does this when you're on horseback and it always drives me crazy. The horizon is correct when you're on foot, but wrong on horseback. Just put the horizon 2/3 of the way up the screen and keep it there!
Love ur content
Thanks
"Sometimes you'll hear the line"
Doesn't play line... greaaat
Mistake number 1, you can't transfer you're game currency to your bank account.
I was surprised you didn't include the gloves on/ gloves off on Sephiroth in FFVII.
