Can we acknowledge this is the ultimate annoyance in RPGs I hate when that happens now I feel I have to look up the best weapons in a game before I even play
One reason why I love Terraria so much. They added an entire extra row of slots for cosmetic items that let's you override the equipment you wear for stats.
Such an underrated comment... This choice-making ability gets me so hooked all the time! I always wanna see what is the outcome of every decision especially in games where there is definitely an effectively different outcome of the choices like in Fallout 3.

Well it start from an old game where supplies are limited and shops are legendary rare in between two or ten location, you tend to stockpile a whole lots of them. And because of that some old time game, that mentally get carried to the future games where shops are everywhere. So yea. 😂😂
Yea Drakke, its called stacking. A full stack of any items in rpg usually around 99 in case of FF series and most of the rpgs, 999 if pokemons series if not mistaken, and the highest max stacked per item in some games is 9999 per items. This one usually in mmorpg.

Atomictoaster And the Fus Ro Dah shout can make people animals and half-beings blow back tens of meters can make dragons flinch but you can't use it to blow off locked doors that's made of wood

you forgot When you enter a cave/dungeon/building, etc and you dont leave until you clear and find every corner because there could be loot and you dont want to miss that loot
And you have no idea where the supposed enemy is, it's not actually attacking or anything and you can't find it so , so you run a mile to get away from whatever it was in order to fast travel, only to encounter a horde of super-mutants or something on route.

Ya everyone wants you to run there guild or faction after only a few days or a weeks of joining it. Forget the fact that you may never return to do your job
Pretty much, the game's intent on you joining the Thieves Guild. I did managed to avoid it with my goody little two shoes character who doesn't steal, doesn't trespass and doesn't murder anyone (except in crime stats, it said she did commit murder but I had no memory of it - only exception is Grelod, I always murder that bitch) and basically said "Screw your plan, Brynjolf! I'm not interested in your guild." However, ever since then, I always joined because being a thief is fun and makes life much easier. I still rarely murder people though but I don't care about the count in crime stats.
Happened to me when I fought Zeke in Xenoblade 2, a quarter of hp left, Nia didn’t use healing halo, Zeke one shot me, I raged so hard I went back to Sonic Mania.
You forgot who's lighting all those caves and dungeons! Candles, torches, you're the first to enter in forever, and all perfectly lit and waiting for you.
eh they handwave it in Skyrim, the Draguer are the caretakers so they are keeping the torches buning, its also why you need a claw to open the main room, its not design so the Draguger can get in, its Designed to keep whats on the other side In, which is why it need a super thick and complex lock Though honestly since they also leave a back door in that you can only opn from inside why havent the bosses Escaped already There also a book, the Locked Door, that explains those door you need a key for are actually reletivly new, created by a wizard to foil a theif. So those Key only doors use Enchanged Locks
1. Hoarding Weapons, Ammo, etc. like you are a paranoid psychopath. 2. Always restarting your latest save to revive your favorite companion. 3. Going back to your latest save/ restart mission/ restart day because you choose a dialog option that made the Npc upset or mad at you. 4. Spending hours on decorating your House/ Base/ Settlement instead of doing something more useful like quests, grinding, leveling etc.
Haha I drive my husband nuts with this. I tell him the way I know whether I'll like an rpg is the char creation. If I'm not spending at least 2 hours and driving my husband nuts while he sits there rolling his eyes at every minute change I make (what do you mean I can't make my eyelashes an extremely exact shade of purple?!), then I'm probably not going to enjoy the rest of the game.
Oh, that's the end of the dungeon? Maybe I should go back and check every corner if I didn't miss something, like a barrel, or a hidden passage, or the poor last enemy who run away from you.
Yep, especially hunting down every last week enemy like theres no tomorrie, all for that sweet xp no matter how little of it there is, it's like they're the rats, albeit, I mean sometimes literally they are, yes, but the point is, well, I think we all know we've all been there, those poor if not-so-innocent minions being so mercilessly "farmed..."

Having a chest full of hundreds of items that you had to carry a little bit at a time because you can only carry so much weight. Hundreds of items which will never be used.

When i first started morrowind i sold or dropped my satchel and didn't relize it for probably a month and just kept running around doing side quests and exploring. Never did beat the main storyline, but i prob still know every inch of that map since they never put in a quest marker or easy fast travel system.
You forgot one thing we all can relate to. The excruciating pain of wanting a specific name for our character and that name has already been taken by some random dude.
Starting a quest that seems to be a 20 minute thing and then realizing over an hour later that this quest is freakin long and you really need to go to bed.
Or being really hungry, and like, I'll get something to eat after finishing this quest, think I'm almost done, and as like you said, an hour later. Damn it, I'm starving, what the fuck does this guy still need now??
Hahaha, that was me in Divinity: Original Sin II. Some of the quests in that game are so, SO long. I did it again with Skyrim's Chasing The Sky quest too. xD
Even worse if it's a game where you can only save on specific save points in the story, or at specific save spots in the game world, instead of in the middle of the quest...

Shadowscall775 I like getting xp from killing enemies but i don’t like the grind it entails. That’s why I like it when a game limits the amount of enemies.
Keeping clothes not because they give better armour but they are cool to wear. Like making an entry into a kings hall with a dragon scale armour. Pretty sweet moment.
Sneaking up on an enemy for a stealth attack... companion runs past you yelling and shooting/swinging. While we're on the topic of companions... GET OUT OF THE DAMN DOORWAY!

Yeah, but that's part of a design overlook from the devs I think. The Whiterun home will be the "main base" for quite a long time till one can afford or be allowed to purchase another house. And at that point you allready spend a good lot of gold to upgrade the Whiterun home, and theres so much stuff stored there allready. And, am I really goint to haul all that stuff to Markarth or Riften? In who knows how many trips? Hell no!
The only reason to get the houses is for a centralized place to throw all your crap, then crafting if you feel like breaking the game more than potheaded NPCs

Oh man, that's totally Kingdoms Of Amalur Reckoning. There are thousands of things to collect, but the game only gives you one chest that only holds 200 items.
@@austinhealey2148 That reminds me, having some chest/home base storage item and just putting your extra stuff in there and never using them. If it is an item used for upgrades, you might use it but if you put a cool weapon or armor or something in there because it is cool but you don't need it right now, the chances of you ever using that item it pretty slim.
5 hours making the perfect body type, hair style, battle scars, tattoos, eye colour, hair colour, facial features... Only to then hide every single one of those intricate details under the most awesome, and face obscuring armour you can get. Yup... That's life.

You tell yourself it's okay, you can play the game, but that little detail keeps bugging you and subtly making itself known until you either start the game over or just refuse to play the game for a while. That reminds me, my DAI playthrought ended that way, think it was the hair.

You may go third-person some times. I also do, just for having a look at my character and see if he is wearing every single piece of armour and jewellery.....
2 that you missed- When you enter that old dungeon or forest that took the efforts of a level 50 super character, that's crawling with demons and slimes, etc, and you come across a lone merchant that just happened to set up shop right in the middle of Mordor. He's fully stocked and friendly! Also the still burning candles that exist in these long forgotten places... WTF (oh someone already mentioned this one in the comments)
After Killing The End Boss, you open the quest list. "oh I haven't finish this quest that I took like forever ago" I wonder how come the quest gifter is actually very patience about that.
What is really bad is killing a very difficult boss in a tough battle, and you realize that random side quest X auto fails after you beat that stage. Better reload an earlier save...
Whenever I see a locker,chest,or anything I can potentially get loot from I search and take all the loot,it doesn't matter if I have 1,000,000 of that item or resource I take it and keep it.
Walking in my oblivion/skyrim houses kicking random crap around. Put your stuff away! Nah, i have things to do... like collecting more unless crap and dumping it on the floor.

This. I remember having different saves in Atelier Totori because I tried different things and accidentally erased the only one where I was almost at the final boss with decent equipment and items. Had to play the whole six ingame years again, all because of scrolling saves that move according to which one you used last. Hoo boy.
What drives me crazy are games when you go up a skill tree and the lower skills both worthless because you unlock more powerful ones. So it doesn't matter if you pick the less optimal skill, because it will end up getting replaced anyway, but you still want to pick the absolutely best one!
Speech, hah, who needs speech? I'm gonna kick ass - strength and weapons proficiency for me *2 hours later - quest gives me a bad ending unless I pass a speech test*
Also when you hoard tons of rings or necklaces or any accessory with useful enchantments cause “Hey this might be useful later on” I’m so guilty of this in Skyrim
yes. I have to pick up everything I find in Skyrim because the custom castle I have has displays for every armor, every weapon, all the daedric quest items you get as rewards, all the dragon priest masks, etc.. So yep I get exactly what you are saying.
Yeah me too : ) I tell myself “this is quite a strong and useful enchantment, I should keep this cuz I’ll totally change my load out on the fly when I come across that niche situation”. Then I just charge in in my regular gear 😂
I remember when I first played Dark souls 1. I spent about 1 hour in character creation and I was joking to my friend if my character turns out to be a faceless zombie and lo and behold, it actually turned out to be a faceless zombie.
@1world1blood I've finished the main quest once... and to be honest all the side quests were more interesting and fun. Skyrim's story is fairly pedestrian and the lure of the game lies in the world and exploration. Probably the only games that have managed to do both really well are Witcher 3 - The Wild Hunt and Fallout: New Vegas.
Trader npc: “Bring me back my family most valuable sword that got lost for generations”. Also trader npc: “Thanks for bringing my sword back but I can’t fight, you should have it”. Me: “Well...That sword is shit”. Also me: “Sells the sword back to him”.
Me: *covered in blood carrying 2 swords, a giant battle axe, a longbow, and wearing armour made from people's souls.* Some random old lady: would you mind if you took this bread to my neighbor. You seem like a nice, good boy
8:55 getting a house in skyrim is actually really beneficial especially if you have the heathfire dlc, you can grow ingredients, store items , craft materials and have followers in it and npcs that helps you throughout the game .

Sounds exactly like what I did with Winter’s blade the moment I got it from Crach An Craite in the witcher 3. Went straight to the blacksmith in Kaer Trolde (which is the An Craite household mind you) and sold that level 17 piece of shit.

Realistically speaking, in an era before fridges, such specialized magicians would be highly respected. I'd reckon they would be important enough that there would be dedicated schools for food-preservation magic, state-regulation of their trade, and most likely a requirement for licenses to operate, either as freelancers or working for a town or noble house, much like there were licenses and regulations for other good and services, like bread or brick making (yes, there were regulations for bread). Even if no licenses were actually required, there would most likely be private guilds or associations that internaly recognized skilled food-prevervation magicians, allowing the public to know that specific magicians had already proven their skills and were therefore safe to hire (and probably more expensive as well) than someone without such recognition, just like it happened for knife or sword makers (they were not the same). Food is perishable, and preserving it is extremely important even today. Salt is one of (if not the) most common food preservatives, and before there were fridges it was extremely valuable for that specific reason, even sometimes called "white gold"; Roman legionaires were even paid in the stuff. As a funny aside, the existance of such magicians would most likely mean the fridge would never be invented, as it wouldn't be needed.
I always found it funny behaviour going into people's houses and smashing vases, crates or some other thing just to get items, like it's a normal thing to do. 😂

There is actually a lore behind why there is fresh food in dungeons in skyrim it is because the drauger wakes up and lights the fires of the cave/dungeon, and they put everything they find in the dungeon chest so they can honor their masters even after life they will still serve them, so the answer is some explorers died maybe recently due to drauger, so they had maybe food with them, so drauger took their food and they put it in the dungeon chests/cave.
When the game goes out of the way to color code items by rarity so you know what is vendor trash before picking it up, and you still pick it up anyway.

In Fallout games, the Fat Boy launchers get broken down or sold as soon as possible, and the mini nukes are just a form of trade goods. If I get one with a bonus effect, I'll put it in a locker in my favorite settlement.
@@MonkeyJedi99 I finished NV only a few times, but each one of them i've saved all the nukes till the very end, when you storm the Legion's base camp. I then use said nukes to carpetbomb the whole damn place. Sattisfaction = immense.
If there are collectables, you get all of them. And once you do, you remeber the game has a story, but you decide to download mods to continue grinding collectables

I’m the person who will save all of their consumable items. Like grenades, any positions other than health, chems or rare ammo weapons for “an emergency”. And then I’m in an emergency and I think “I should save these for a bigger ermergency”. And then it’s the end of the game and I have 15 things of buffout that I will never use.

That house thing got me thinking about my original Skyrim character. I always used to save in breeze home before quitting and I like to think that he’s just chillin w Ysolda and his son after completing all the quests. The homeless propel only appear to have more money. The nobles don't just walk around with a massive coin purse. They have bank accounts.

It’s hard to get outta Riften. I personally like it the best. And the Thieves Guild quest-line is pretty fun after all.
Pretty much, the game's intent on you joining the Thieves Guild. I did managed to avoid it with my goody little two shoes character who doesn't steal, doesn't trespass and doesn't murder anyone (except in crime stats, it said she did commit murder but I had no memory of it - only exception is Grelod, I always murder that bitch) and basically said "Screw your plan, Brynjolf! I'm not interested in your guild." However, ever since then, I always joined because being a thief is fun and makes life much easier. I still rarely murder people though but I don't care about the count in crime stats.
That moment when you lose a 30 minute battle when the enemy has 1HP left.

Alchemy pick pocket was one of my favorite Skyrim playthroughs

I've had TONS of alchemy ingredients stored in Skyrim and rarely ever do alchemy lol
1. Hoarding Weapons, Ammo, etc. like you are a paranoid psychopath.
2. Always restarting your latest save to revive your favorite companion.
3. Going back to your latest save/ restart mission/ restart day because you choose a dialog option that made the Npc upset or mad at you.
4. Spending hours on decorating your House/ Base/ Settlement instead of doing something more useful like quests, grinding, leveling etc.

When i first started morrowind i sold or dropped my satchel and didn't relize it for probably a month and just kept running around doing side quests and exploring. Yeah, but that's part of a design overlook from the devs I think. The Whiterun home will be the "main base" for quite a long time till one can afford or be allowed to purchase another house.
And at that point you allready spend a good lot of gold to upgrade the Whiterun home, and theres so much stuff stored there allready.
And, am I really goint to haul all that stuff to Markarth or Riften? In who knows how many trips? Hell no!
The only reason to get the houses is for a centralized place to throw all your crap, then crafting if you feel like breaking the game more than potheaded NPCs

If it is an item used for upgrades, you might use it but if you put a cool weapon or armor or something in there because it is cool but you don't need it right now, the chances of you ever using that item it pretty slim.

That's where healing magic comes in handy. Get your skill high enough and you can refill your health and stamina with it.

@1world1blood I've finished the main quest once... and to be honest all the side quests were more interesting and fun. Skyrim's story is fairly pedestrian and the lure of the game lies in the world and exploration. Probably the only games that have managed to do both really well are Witcher 3 - The Wild Hunt and Fallout: New Vegas.
Trader npc: “Bring me back my family most valuable sword that got lost for generations”.
Also trader npc: “Thanks for bringing my sword back but I can’t fight, you should have it”.
Me: “Well...That sword is shit”.
Also me: “Sells the sword back to him”.
You forgot:
Me: "steals sword back from trader"
Finally me: "sells sword back again, after cleaning the trader empty"
or they give you a weapon you cant equip because its not for your class.
then the sword turns out to be the best sword in the game if you upgrade it

8:55 getting a house in skyrim is actually really beneficial especially if you have the heathfire dlc, you can grow ingredients, store items , craft materials and have followers in it and npcs that helps you throughout the game .
I love coming home in Skyrim and seeing my adopted kids, wife, and 8 random followers to create a nice family atmosphere

When you find a sword that looks much better than yours, just to realise that it has less damage points.
Same with armor. My favorite skyrim armor set is the glass armor but it's not the best light armor
that's one of the great parts of terraria; vanity gear slots. you can wear the strong armor while your appearance is the good looking armor.
That's what I like about ac oddessy you can wear the good looking stuff over the better equipment

Sounds exactly like what I did with Winter’s blade the moment I got it from Crach An Craite in the witcher 3. Went straight to the blacksmith in Kaer Trolde (which is the An Craite household mind you) and sold that level 17 piece of shit.

What if there are magicians specialized in food preservation spells, but they are too ashamed to admit that's the only thing they can do ?
Realistically speaking, in an era before fridges, such specialized magicians would be highly respected. I'd reckon they would be important enough that there would be dedicated schools for food-preservation magic, state-regulation of their trade, and most likely a requirement for licenses to operate, either as freelancers or working for a town or noble house, much like there were licenses and regulations for other good and services, like bread or brick making (yes, there were regulations for bread). Even if no licenses were actually required, there would most likely be private guilds or associations that internaly recognized skilled food-prevervation magicians, allowing the public to know that specific magicians had already proven their skills and were therefore safe to hire (and probably more expensive as well) than someone without such recognition, just like it happened for knife or sword makers (they were not the same). Food is perishable, and preserving it is extremely important even today. Salt is one of (if not the) most common food preservatives, and before there were fridges it was extremely valuable for that specific reason, even sometimes called "white gold"; Roman legionaires were even paid in the stuff. As a funny aside, the existance of such magicians would most likely mean the fridge would never be invented, as it wouldn't be needed.
I always found it funny behaviour going into people's houses and smashing vases, crates or some other thing just to get items, like it's a normal thing to do. 😂

There is actually a lore behind why there is fresh food in dungeons in skyrim it is because the drauger wakes up and lights the fires of the cave/dungeon, and they put everything they find in the dungeon chest so they can honor their masters even after life they will still serve them, so the answer is some explorers died maybe recently due to drauger, so they had maybe food with them, so drauger took their food and they put it in the dungeon chests/cave.
The fresh fruit's one thing, don't even get me started on how almost every candle is both lit *and* barely even burned. Always.
YES!!! And apparently nobody’s been in that area for hundreds of years!!!!!
It's simple- candles were there prepared for the return of the buried to life and were magically lit just when you've entered the dungeon.

When you collect literally everything only to find out 93% of it is absolutely useless.
When the game goes out of the way to color code items by rarity so you know what is vendor trash before picking it up, and you still pick it up anyway.
And you spend the entirety of the game leaving a trail of discarded shit behind you because you're constantly fighting encumbrance.

In Fallout games, the Fat Boy launchers get broken down or sold as soon as possible, and the mini nukes are just a form of trade goods. If I get one with a bonus effect, I'll put it in a locker in my favorite settlement.
@@MonkeyJedi99 I finished NV only a few times, but each one of them i've saved all the nukes till the very end, when you storm the Legion's base camp. I then use said nukes to carpetbomb the whole damn place. Sattisfaction = immense.

That house thing got me thinking about my original Skyrim character. I always used to save in breeze home before quitting and I like to think that he’s just chillin w Ysolda and his son after completing all the quests. Either that or I didn’t save and quit in breeze home and he’s been trapped in a cave or on a mountain for almost 10 years
