Always loved Brosnan. One of the more undersung actors I think. Loved Remington Steele as a kid, was good as 007, and very good in Lawnmower Man. Much respect to him. His comments on why he left Remington Steele are interesting, never knew that. I can see how, after 5 years, an actor can get in a rut and it become a factory as he said. TV acting has long been known to typecast actors, very few break it. He did thankfully.
Absolutely love Taffin. Fantastic film. There used to be a HD scan of the movie on Netflix but since its been taken off the platform all thats left is DVD copies.
Pierce Brosnan-good looking, and a fine actor, too. What is it like to be THAT good looking? He is like Alain Delon, he is at a entirely different level. Beautiful.
I remember thinking Taffin, the film, was slightly entertaining, but a bit strange and/or cheap. The ending didn't make sense and the setting could seem bizarre. He lived on Kilcoole beach in a hut/warehouse, like he was Jim Rockford on call from a caravan by the beach in California, but the scenes in Wicklow town did look and feel exactly like Wicklow town back in the day. Probably hasn't changed much since. I didn't know he was considered for "Bond" as early as mid-80s.
Thanks very much for sharing this. This movie has certainly become infamous because of what Adam and Joe had done ;) 4:12 Its nice that Brosnan kept professional about the whole thing with James Bond and moved on too.
No one and no country owns anyone. People are free to travel and expand their life experiences. Life is an adventure not a prison if you make it so. No one owes you or is bound to anywhere if they dont choose to be.
My god, why in the.... Are they putting on the strong higher class English accents, from a boy in a boarding house to a female Irish model? I guess it it was maybe easier get work? Strange all these years later. No hate just trying to understand the choice of accent 🤔
hahah, I mean to be fair when your young and living in LA and doing what you love, its hard to go back to your roots. Though I think these days as we've seen in a recent interview, he does love and miss Ireland

"Taffin" drinking game - take a drink every time an actor from Fr Ted shows up.

A couple of years ago the film stock was rescanned - you can find it on blu-ray in 2K if you look!
