Really good tutorial! I'm so excited to see how castings are done. My sister is crazy about what she calls "gingerbread " on furniture. Now I can put some on the little bench I'm making for her as a house warming gift for her new home. It will look great on her farmers porch!!!! Thanks!
Also, to make sure that you have equal parts of the molding clay, you can weigh each color of clay, separately, on a digital kitchen scale before you mix them together.
Such a cutie! Jami.... you're so lucky! Adorable couple! I was looking up how to do this today! I'm glad you made this video.... now I know how to do it!
Zeb, I recently saw an old house that had what looked like an old, round carved chair leg with 1/4 cut out length wise and it was put on a wall corner as a protector. Looked great. You cannot find that in stores here to purchase. The mould would allow you to make several for really cheap and no one else would have the same thing. Some corners get a lot of action then damage so silicone would be rather forgiving. Would you try making one or two and maybe and figure out what would be best for sticking it to the wall corner in case it has to be changed? I want to try this but do not know much about what materials work best. I know this is an unusual request but it might sell in your store too.
Omg I'm in love with this idea. Can you paint the molded piece black before the top color and then wet distress if you prefer to have dark showing thru? Apologies if you answered this during the video. I had to watch part of it without sound!
Thanks Zeb. I was wondering if this would work with a piece of furniture I bought for $3.00. It is sort of a side table with an open shelf but looks like the person before me took off some kind of moulding on the ends that is exposing the staples. Would something like this help to hide those staples yet add a little bit of decorative trim. I was going to buy some little wood appliqués until I saw this video. Thanks for another great and useful video.
Hey there so I asked a question off subject during one of your live videos and I wasn't asking the question right where you understood what I was saying. My question is this, if I want to MAKE a mold of detail that is ALREADY on a curved surface, like a swag with roses that is on a curved front of a lamp, How do I do this? Do I place the mold puddy onto that curved surface and do I pull it off while it is still setting to lay it flat? or do I let it set around that detail and how to I get that now curved mold to lay flat if it set curved onto that surface, so I can pour resin in it and re-create that mold. Does this make sense? Lol! Your response last time was to microwave the replica to make it flexible which I know how to do already, I just want to know how to get the ACTUAL MOLD ITSELF to capture detail that is on curved surfaces. And lastly, can this puddy be used to capture detail that is deep like a say a rose with 1/2 in depth from petal to base of flower then 1 inch wide at top and 1/2 inch wide at base? I know there is a better way to ask this but I hope you know what I mean....... LOL!! Sorry.......
Here’s a whole video on doing just that. 😊 The links for the products we used are in the description of this video here. ruclips.net/video/bguLJ_Zxmqw/видео.html
Thank you for a very smart and easy to follow tutorial, Ray, great job. I just got delivered all the ingredients, wish me luck (it's too expensive to screw up, lol). Best wishes to you and yours!
Def going to buy some of this. Tried to do my own molds with silicone and it never turned out right. The stuff never dried. Thanks for the video on how to do this, looks easy compared to the method i used.
I'm a lot more comfortable with mix and pour silicone, but that probably wouldn't do well in this application. I had no idea this was food safe. Given the price and convenience, I may need to get some. Good stuff!
painters tape and a couple dots of hot glue in addition to E 600 makes it stick instantly , I agree we should mold everything ,thanks so much for this video I am going to try to repair a leg on a piece of furniture that has chipped off, OMG HOW IS JAMI??? ( the eye lazic???)
am wondering, arent you breaking copyright laws when you copy someone's molded component you find on purchased furnishings? I would think most of those would be copyrighted.
Excellent Tutorial! Thank you for getting right to the point...so many people ramble on about themselves or their project.
Another idea for stabilizing the mold before pouring would be to fill a little box with rice. Place the mold in the rice and to level out the mold.
Fantastic!
🥰Your channel is the best! Thankyou!
Zeb is a very good teacher.

Awesome! Send pics when you finish it. We’d love to see what you create!

Great tutorial Zeb! TFS! Praying Jami's surgery went well and she has a speedy recovery!
She’s doing great! I’m having trouble keeping her in bed resting. 😂
Thank you for this great tutorial, you are a great teacher!
Zeb, thanks for the great teaching! Now, we know how to make our own molds. Saves us a lot of money too!
Great job Jeb! Thank you! I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. I too loved the word “moosh”! ☺️
I so love that simply and can save so much money molding them yourself.
Such a cutie! Jami.... you're so lucky! Adorable couple! I was looking up how to do this today! I'm glad you made this video.... now I know how to do it!
Thank you Zeb. Mold making and resin pouring have always intimated me but you have helped me to overcome this. Thank you for a great tutorial. 😊
Yes! Mold all the things😁. Great tutorial Zeb!

Very interesting. Never thought about doing something like this. Thanks Zeb! Praying Jami has a full recovery and is seeing perfect soon!
This is terrific!! Loved seeing how it’s done. Makes it less daunting to try!
This is an awesome video. Thanks Zeb.
Thanks Zeb!!! Easy peasy the Zeb way!
Lol. If it’s not simple I don’t wanna. -Zeb

Yes, I would use a spray paint with a built in sealer so that it doesn’t wipe off when you distress.
@@JamiRayVintage thanks!
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. You are a great teacher!!
Thank you!
Thanks Zeb! You always make everything look so easy! Hope Jami’s getting some rest and all has gone well. ❤️
She’s doing great! She has slept most of the day (except when I’ve had to wake her up for her medication)
She can see really well without her glasses.
Jami Ray Vintage Awesome!! Prayers do work! You guys make a great team! Talk soon!!

You can hide all sorts of blemishes with appliqués.
Love the mould putty!
This video has been months in the making lol. Took awhile to become retailers for the products used.
Thanks for the great lesson.
God bless you.
Love mush...or moosh...lol
You are a great teacher.

Really cool! Loved all of this!!!
So very cool! I love it and thanks for making the video!
Thanks!
SOOOOOO PRETTY
Well done. You made me laugh Who wouldn't like the way you explained? after watching you, I feel confident enough to give this a try Thank you!!
Thanks for that great tip, it's really going to help me!
Welcome! 😊
Can I use this molding clay to do fiberglass casting?
Thank you for a very smart and easy to follow tutorial, Ray, great job. I just got delivered all the ingredients, wish me luck (it's too expensive to screw up, lol). Best wishes to you and yours!
I'm so sorry to call you Ray, LOL Hi, Zeb! (I'm such a moron!)
I like the word mush.
This is great!! Thanks😀
Def going to buy some of this. Tried to do my own molds with silicone and it never turned out right. The stuff never dried. Thanks for the video on how to do this, looks easy compared to the method i used.
When we first started out I think I tried about 20 DIY silicon methods and finally found the 2 part putty. I was hooked after that!
@@JamiRayVintage yeah i was not impressed at all with that method so i didn't even try another one. I'm excited to get this version!
I'm a lot more comfortable with mix and pour silicone, but that probably wouldn't do well in this application.

Good stuff!
Yeah! Time to make Pokémon candy!
Hope Jami is doing well 👍😁 prayers too u both 😍
Looks like I'll be putting my big girl panites on and trying this! Thanks Zeb! Praying Jami has recovered well!
She is doing great!
That's fantastic!
Question how flexible is the casting?
Nm i just didnt wait long enough ty for being so thorough
big thumbs up!
Yay!
so COOL ,
Can I reuse the yellow putty after I would make copies and wanted to use it for something else?
yes, it's silicon so it won't dry out or crack for a very long time. Zeb has done several hundred pours from the same mold.
painters tape and a couple dots of hot glue in addition to E 600 makes it stick instantly , I agree we should mold everything ,thanks so much for this video I am going to try to repair a leg on a piece of furniture that has chipped off, OMG HOW IS JAMI??? ( the eye lazic???)

awesome! thxs!
I hope all is well with Jami post Lasik. I noticed the video is gone.
Yes she is doing well, insta stories only last 24 hours.
Jami Ray Vintage Great news!
Still haven't tried the compressor....think I'll try this....it won't explode! lol
On the mold you made, couldn"t you add a little putty to that area you don:t want the resin to run in to rather than trying to tilt it.
You could, but I’ll probably only use this mold for the purpose of the video so I didn’t sweat it. 😊
