Deanna, you are probably one of the most genuine makers I’ve seen on any social media. Your skills and ideas are always so fresh and exciting. Your teaching skills are easy to follow. You also show what can happen when we do it ourselves and how to “fix the mishaps”. This is beautiful and so encouraging. Thank you for a GREAT channel and for another gorgeous piece!! Keep going! Let’s get this channel up over 100,000!!!!
Wow! Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, I appreciate your support! I love teaching and inspiring others so I really appreciate your feedback and encouragement ☺️
Deanna, love your work and yet I haven't seen any more in a year or so. I hope that is by your choice as your stuff is unique and very interesting. I loved your painting by not watching. I had tried that in jest years ago and I was no where near what you came up with but again, it's so different than anything others are doing. I love your imagination. .I hope to see you back on your channel soon. Great work.
Hello! Thanks so much for your message. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. I did take a little break from making videos, I make the videos for fun in my spare time ☺️ I moved to a new house recently and am still working on getting my art studio space ready. I am planning on filming some more videos soon, I miss creating the videos and inspiring others. Messages like this give me the inspiration to get back at it! Thanks again. Deanna
You’re a good instructor (coming from a fellow instructor). Thank you for speaking and instructing clearly with only necessary info to help the viewer achieve good results. Also, thank you for not playing music as I find it very distracting (so many RUclipsrs talk with music playing or blast it in between talking causing me to have to continuously adjust my volume). Can you believe I did a similar technique to this in the mid eighties? All good things come back around! :-)
I had to watch again and I just love your little chihuahua's are adorable... the little brown one is waiting for you to sit down so he(or she) can climb right up there! Adorable!
Deanna this is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever enjoyed and I enjoy a lot. I’ll be mimicking your masterpiece for years to come with many thanks! 🙏🏻
These molds also work exceptionally well with paper clay which can be made easily with cardboard and glue (aka recycling... so free) I've been on RUclips since the beginning and this is one of the very small handful of times I've hit the bell. Love your stuff!!
I’ve seen this idea of adding molded forms to furniture. But I’ve never seen it painted to mimic the wood it’s on. You did a marvelous job of doing that. To anyone not watching this video you wouldn’t know that you didn’t carve those pieces from the wood. Beautiful job. 👍🏼🤍
Thanks for watching Molly! Glad you like the results! I'm thinking of doing a coloured wash on an upcoming piece, or maybe an ombre wash...what do you think?
@@DIYDEANNA Yes! Definitely. I’m so impressed you were able to remove all the old layers of paint without a stripper. The nightstand looked like it was raw wood. A color gradient would be so striking.
I’m a potter and I have been using them to add to my pots!! It’s such a unique look and I absolutely love it!!! I also really appreciate how detailed you are when explaining everything! Thank you so much.
@@DIYDEANNA Yes I just use the same clay that I make everything out of. I also use the stamps on a lot of my items. I have all of the first through 3rd release! I absolutely love them.
WOW WOW WOW So happy this popped up on my YT videos. Just starting to flip furniture but I really want to make my work stand out. Such a great tutorial . Thank you .
I loved how this turned out!! And the wood grain lines you added to your molds was great!!! I haven’t tried casting yet, but am inspired now. Thanks for sharing!!
I don’t think I have seen a prettier piece. The idea of adding faux grain to the moulds was brilliant. And making drawer pulls, also brilliant. Your talent is exceptional and you are a great teacher. And your kids are adorable. Thank you so much for this video. One of my sisters is a minimalist and the other is I don’t really know how to describe her style. But I sent your video to them so they could appreciate your artistry even though this may not be their style. I have never shared with them before.
I've used moulds before and this is a great way to get your piece looking fantastic, never thought of putting wood grain on them! Thanks and so glad I found you!!
Beautiful Piece!! I love it. I really appreciate watching someone who knows what they are doing. I find there are so many people on the internet who say they aren't a pro, but they still give out advice as though they are. It's extremely frustrating!! I love your black/brown & choc brown dogs, too!!! We have a 17 yr old male fawn.
This is the best video tutorial that I have ever watched. Well explained and detailed step by step instructions. Lots of close ups for us to see what you are working on. Your videos are very professional! Thank you for taking the time to teach us! I have subscribed to your channel and looking to learn more from them.
Kudos from a professional! I have retired now but l have been in the design buisness for 40 yesrs and painted hundreds of murals and paint finishes on furniture and designed high end homes and kitchens but this was one of the best transformations l have seen on youtube. Congratul ations ! I wish you many ceative years. Thank you ! Im going to do a blanket chest. You have inspired me.
Thanks so much Angela. I’m glad to hear I have inspired you, that is my goal with this channel, to inspires creativity in others! Thanks for taking the time to leave this comment, means a lot to me.
I really enjoy using IOD moulds with paper clay. Once painted and either waxed or sealed, they are durable! Plus you can bend them around corners and cut them while running your design across drawer front... lots of creative fun and vetsatility
Very nice Deanna. The raised design totally changes the look of the piece. Your tutorials are always interesting and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your next video. I love decoupage.
I have used only 2 part Resin to make jewelry and it is clear. I never had any idea this marvelous stuff existed. I don't have enough house to use all my new finds. Haven't seen the end product but I know it will be fantastic.
The wood grain paintup really makes this next-level. (and if I find you did your monologue in one take, I'm really going to be impressed! ;) No hems, haws, stutters or missteps. Impressive. )
Brilliant!!! I love your video, especially how you broke down each step to make it so simple. Painting the flowers with graining of the wood is next level. It really makes it! Thank you!
It’s so pretty! I feel like the stark white of the decoupage could use a brush of the stain stuff too to tone it down. I learned some things today. Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful! All the extra details inside finish it off perfect!!! Your smiles in the video show how much you enjoyed doing this project.!!!!!
Perhaps the best video ever on this technique. I've done faux finishes professionally and you could easily teach this in a school. Excellent and very inspiring.
A beautiful job! 👏👏👏👏 Amazing how the paint you mixed matched the wood tone and love how you took the time to actually paint wood lines onto the flowers before whitewashing. Just gorgeous.
By far the best teaching I’ve seen. Your calm cheerful and confident manner coupled with the little oops are so helpful and give me the courage to try new things. Thank you.
Deanna, your attention to detailing with paint to match the wood of the cabinet is fantastic & amazing. It really does look like it's been carved. I love your workmanship! Looking forward to seeing and learning more from you.

Thanks for watching Cory!! ☺️
I love that you took the time to underpaint in order to mimic the woodgrain. The result is brilliant.
Thanks so much!
Your are amazing! A wonderful teacher. Thank you.
I just did an apothecary dupe using a two part apoxy moulding clay. I loved it!
Sounds amazing! Thanks for commenting!
So impressive! I would never have thought that wasn’t wood.

Very beautiful piece of furniture. Really like your attention to detail. The drawer pulls were a genius idea.

You did amazing job👏🏼🤗
Awesome job 👏👍 I usually use polymer clay for my furniture molds but that wouldn't hold the screw like epoxy does. Brilliant idea!
Could you drill a small hole in the clay and then super glue the screw in place? Not sure if that would work, what do you think? Thanks for watching!
@@DIYDEANNA yes but would eventually break apart the resin is so much stronger. Brilliant idea you have here.
Thanks! I hope you give it a try!
