I've had one of these for about a year now and its a beast, no problems so far and its chrome....I also have the small portable DeWalt shop vac that uses the Battery, its powerful for its size and perfect for cleaning vehicles and odd small things, couldn't be happier with both of them.
I just ordered one for myself, Black Friday deal, and as usual I check the review *after* ordering :) Glad to see you're happy with it. Thanks for the review
5 yrs ridgid vacuum user 3 different ridgid vacuum. Then switch to dewalt vacuum and i really like it . More powerfull and the airfilter holds very well unlike ridgid. So i decided to buy another 1 for my work and 1 for my garage
Thats a awesome shop vac. DeWalt makes good stuff. Now you should make a dust separator to go with it. This way you dont fill up the bag or clog up the filter.
I'm thinking that's a thing that will happen eventually, but probably not until I have a permanent home for my lathe, because currently it takes up too much of the rest of the room under the bench for me to house anything else of substance down there.
Wooden ThingsAndStuff I just picked one up today. I really like it. And you are right it is pretty quiet compared to other shop vacs. Thanks again for the video.
Does anyone know of a spigot to replace the extraction cap at the bottom? I'm finding it messy and difficult to empty the unit when it's full of dirty water, the dirty water splashes out as soon as you remove the cap to empty the unit. I think a spigot would be much better but I can't find anything online like it
If you want a better crevice tool end it to fit Sanders you could buy the rigid car cleaning kit because it comes with everything that you would need to do what you want and it fits your Dewalt I own one and I’ve done that
I don't know the port size on the Dewalt jobsite saw, but if you have the right adaptor, it should work fine. Generally you'd want something more in the way of a "dust collector" (high volume low pressure) to get the most dest removal from a table saw, but a "shopvac" type thing like this (low volume high pressure) would be better than nothing, for sure.
I bought one yesterday and it doesn't have the bag attachment so that must be the model for America , we just got a net bag to put our attachments in here in Europe
As confused as I was at first about that bag, I've found it to be a good addition. No more looking around for the different attachments. It does get super dusty in there, though.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff I'd say it gets very dusty , I was wondering though about using it for water do I need to take off the inside filter to suck water or was it ready to suck water from the moment it was unpacked.I cant find a video of anybody demonstrating how to use it for water . If you could make a quick video for its water capabilities it would be good. You've shown us the dry now show us the wet ... thank you very much I enjoyed your video
Me and my dad was just literally talking about how everyone calls wet/dry vacs shop vacs and tissues kleenex. Right before I watch this video. Great video by the way
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff Thanks, just wondering the quality of the metal. If the magnet sticks it's not really 'stainless' steel, not going to stand up for long because it's going to rust overtime, esp. when it gets banged up. I want to get it to replace my ShopVac that's way too bulky and the buttons now stuck in the on position.
I found this info on the web: Stainless Steels and Magnets Steel is a metal that magnets stick to because iron can be found inside steel. However, stainless steels comprise a large group of steel alloys that are made of different metal compositions. While some have more chromium, some might have more iron in them. That is why you will find that while some types of stainless steels are magnetic, other stainless steel types will not make magnets stick to them, providing answers to age-old questions “will a magnet stick to stainless steel?” and “why are some metals not magnetic?” Stainless steel is often used in a wide range of home appliances, so if you experiment, you might find that your fridge magnet sticks to your oven but does not stick to your rice cooker
Thanks for the vid Considering buying the Australian version of this for my garage/home gym, seems to be one of my best bets at the top of the budget range and its specs seem to be way better than a few similarly priced rivals. Has it held up well for you? Costs a bit more over here, $299AUD (around $230USD), though I think we get a 6m long cord (other models seem to be 3m)
Can't speak to longevity yet, because it hasn't even been a year, but I use it a ton and haven't had any problems other than not realizing the bag is full before it's too late to get it out cleanly. You definitely want to replace your bag before it's full or the intake part on the inside of the cannister gets in the way when taking it out, rips the bag open and makes a huge mess.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff cheers for that Looks like a 5 pack of replacement bags are around $15-20AUD here, I guess I'll get a few months out of that. I was considering a shredder vac too as alot of leaves/grass clippings/insects get in under doors etc, but my mum has an el cheapo and it's no good for dust so I'll probably just borrow hers whenever i need it
Ended up purchasing one on Friday Only a couple of minutes to unbox and screw the wheels on and put everything in place, night and day a huge upgrade on the little cordless handheld I was using previously, was an absolute joy to clean up the garage with quickly and efficiently. It seems to be exactly the same as your model, just with the 38 litre branding instead of 10 gallon branding. I will have to let my supplier know It's a 3m cord, not the 6m they listed online, good thing it has that attachment pouch though, so I'll put an extension cord in there (was going to probably need one anyway to vacuum the car or something) I think I'll only use the bag for really dusty applications, seeing it'll suck up all sorts of things in the meantime, but yeah thanks again for the helpful video
For once, a tool that sucks is a good thing! I've been looking at wet/dry vacs, but that's on my list after a table saw. Thanks for the candid review and the belly laughs. Didgeridoo. LOL
Made in China (model DXV10SA) which is a Costco specific model.. only VISUAL difference is..hose is black/yellow, and comes with round brush attachment. Checked box of the one I bought last weekend
Not sure what the fascination with this "first" stuff is for people, but I'm pretty sure this is the first "first" I've ever gotten, and that tells me I've finally "made it" on RUclips.
Finding accessories for this vac is absolutely frustrating.. iv already spend $80 on accessories and none of them work together which defete the purpose.. Great vac and suction for cleaning.. but to use this as a dust extractor for your mitre saw or sander or anything will; be a complete hassle! I STILL TO THIS DAY CANNOT FIND THE PARTS TO ATTACH THIS TO ANY OF MY TOOLS... but it does clean my shop... if anyone has any experience with this vac and can give me some advice to hook this up to my tools.. it would greatly be appreciated.
Yeah, I haven't even looked for attachment bits for tools, but I imagine that it would be frustrating. I just use it to clean up (and on the lathe while I'm sanding).
I just bought a 1 7/8 inch to 1 1/4 inch hose adaptor from Etsy that works on Dewalt, Ridgid, and Craftsman shop vacs! A bit pricey but saves time, hassle, and money trying to find something you hope fits! They guarantee the adapter will find sanders and other tools as well as car detailing tools!
Can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't show it because I didn't need to use that function that day. Having said that, I've had it over two years now and still haven't used it to vac anything wet.
I would not classify this vacuum as heavy equipment. Why do you think he is scared of loud noises? You know he is standing in a woodworking shop with serval loud tools.
You can use any vacuum as an extractor, it just won't be as good at collecting dust from bigger machines with 4" ports as something that pulls more volume at a lover velocity.

I have a question for you. on the back , what I think is considered the exhaust. Does it come with a cover? Will it work without the cover? Thank you.
My Dewalt vacuum has no power when I turn on. Would there be a fuse to change?
