  • SHOP VACS TESTED: Ridgid, Craftsman, Shop Vac, Bauer, DeWalt, Hart, and Stanley tested for horsepower, air speed, suction and noise level. Testing also included speed of vacuuming 5 gallons of water and 50 pounds of sand. Total water holding capacity also measured for each brand. Finally, each brand participated in a "grudge" match when the suction hoses were joined together. Hope you enjoy the video and thank you for supporting the channel. Best regards, Todd

This guy has to be the most honest and respectable RUclipsr on this platform, he spends hundreds of dollars on every video on equipment, goes above and beyond with the tests for each piece of equipment, throughly testing of what piece of equipment is capable of and how they compare to their counterparts, the presenting of the videos is also appealing and also addicting to watch especially tests being very unique, he listens to his audience while being very open minded to what they suggest and even makes comments on about every comment I see and has done so for years!

Corporate America and China both use the consumers for quality control testing, some of the American corporations will generally make up for the problem if you will just call customer service which I do quite often. Forty years ago we had no need of QC as many of the workers were responsible for good quality, Corporate America and China sure took care of that !

So many, especially nowadays, are just spec sheets side by side, where a simple program could (and definitely does in some cases) just write the comparisons. PF actually shows everything and doesn't pick a clear winner most of the time, it actually gives you real world info and compares them in a useful manner. And any company is going to just focus on making the box specs look good, as evidenced by some of these vacuums having higher PHP, but drawing much less power, meaning they're doing less actual work.

Apologies for a double comment but something needs addressed right now.
Far too many of us have not taken the time to appreciate the work which actually goes into each video.
The time spent editing and arranging all of the footage into the final product alone is more than note worthy.
The narration itself is an entire additional step which I am pretty sure is not a one take effort.
Here is where I lose a lot of people. lol If you were to go to a "pay to view" format, I would not hesitate to pay.
Because in the end, all videos are WELL produced. And all data is as accurate as humanly possible at all times.
Never is there a hidden string holding something together making it work. What you see IS how it is.
And at the end of the day, I respect honesty and intellect.
Seriously, very well done. I honestly feel you are going to obtain undeniable fame the nation over which spreads way beyond youtube. How far you go is up to you. But many of us will be right there supporting you the entire trip.

You said that a company standing behind their product is important and I couldn't agree more. But a warranty on paper doesn't mean anything if it isn't backed up in the real world. So, here is another video idea.
Test the warranties from the big brands. Can you go in store, or do you have to ship off to a service center? Who pays for shipping? What kind of wait to have the tool repaired or replaced?
You could even test the big stores extended warranties and see if they are worth anything.
ie. Does Harbor Freight really stand behind their "Extended Service Plan"?

I agree, I have bought products from big-name "high end" brands that have claimed lifetime warranties, only to be slighted by their warranty refusal after normal wear and tear. I typically try to buy a product that I think is a good balance of value and quality out of the box, and I imagine how long it may last me for the money spent, regardless of warranty promises.

I had an Old School Shop Vac for years. When it finally conked out on me, I bought another one. I was disappointed in the decline of quality. I'm glad I got to see this review. I am going to invest in a Dewalt. Mine gets used hard for construction clean up. I would have liked to see how they do picking up nails, drywall dust, wood scraps etc. Drywall dust clogs up a filter fast which reduces suction. It would be interesting to see which one lasted the longest with drywall dust.

Oh my goodness, not only does it pull a substantial amount more air than before, it is also significantly quieter! Huge upgrade for free.
