This is so far the best harp cover Ive seen here in youtube. The tempo, rythm, arrangement and those runs were very intact from the original arrangement. Good job :)
Hi Brent. Great question! The melody is usually the top element of an arrangement - I often move it up an octave so that there is more space underneath for the accompaniment, without the whole piece getting too low and potentially muddy-sounding. I think it allows the melody to sing out a bit more when it's higher up the harp. And thank you!
Moving it up a octave also makes it a bit easier to have more room for your left hand to travel when playing..... Lizzie you did a amazing job. Where did you find the arrangement?
This is a wonderful arrangement! Would you mind sharing the process of how you get permission to arrange and sell the sheet music? I get so bogged down and confused by copyright...
Hi Tiffany! I know, copyright laws are very confusing! I sell mine through SMP Press - they have a list of songs that anyone can arrange, as long as they are only sold through their website. The arranger only gets a small percentage of the profit, but it does mean you don't have to worry about getting permission from the copyright holder, as SMP Press have done all that for you. Let me know if you want any more info :)
Hi Chanah - thank you! I haven't got permission to sell my arrangement of this song yet, but I'm hoping I will be able to in the next few months or so. I'll definitely reply to your comment here if/when that happens, to let you know it's available.
Actually, out of curiosity -- do you have any recommendations for creating these gorgeous "pop/modern" arrangements? That's one of the few things they didn't teach us in Master's! Would you consider me paying you for a Skype lesson in your process of arranging these modern pieces for harp? Your arrangements always have this nice flow and variation, and I don't want to get stuck in the traditional "oh, I'll do an arpeggio because it's harpy" loop!
I’ve always wanted to play the harp!!! You have done an amazing job!!!

Hi, I have a question about the harp. Why do you play the vocal part an octave higher? (I don't intend to criticize you, I love your playing)

Hello! I'd love to buy your arrangement, but I can't find it on sheetmusicplus.com. Where may I buy it?

Oh wow, what a compliment! I'd be very happy to give you some tips on arranging, though my ideas have only come from experimentation!
