- A morning of HO scale trainwatching at Waycross Jct., Texas. Waycross is a fictional Texas city on Per Laursen's modern Union Pacific layout set in South-central Texas.
Watch mainline trains, a local switch job and Amtrak come through town in this first part of a series.
I'd be playing with this layout all day and night. Lol
If I could, I would totally give this video a million likes. Love the layout and I can't wait for part 2. PS the layout looks very good.
Best layout
What if it's not a layout 😳
@@iatif1995 plot twist
Very nice indeed. It looks nearly like the real thing. Such a great job on the recreation of the junction area.
When your layout is so good even the thumbnail looks like the real thing
As a railfan as well as a modeler I always find your videos delightful.
Your layout is the blueprint for a modern HO scale layout. I was going for 70’s era until I saw your videos. I’m working on a modern northwest Indiana layout, but I have a long way to go to come close to your layout. Nicely done sir.
Beautiful layout, with many realistic details and excellent rolling stock. Congratulations and I look forward to Part 2. The filming, perfect. Thank you. Best regards.
Wow! Per you nailed it again! I really like the local switch. Also, that Denny’s looks magnificent! Really hope to see that as a future release on the site.
So great to see a new video of your amazing layout. Fantastic action! Can't wait for part 2.
Great to see a new video from Summit, one of my favorite layouts on YT.
Same here!
Great layout!
Agreed
Hey Per! Just found this today in August 2022. Almost as good as being there!!! Great layout and very fine video!!!!
Love part 1. Looking forward to part 2!
All the detail is amazing. I was so blown away by the weathering detail on the rolling stock. Like a real train the locomotives may have differing faded paint. Then several graffiti cars, a couple new paint, and very rusty car really added so much realism.
As always, one of the few layouts I can consider legitimate.
And who are you? Ringo Starr
@@Gfysimpletons mind your business.

I can watch this the whole day... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love this layout just wish ya had smithville with the car maintenance fleet shop. Would’ve been super cool to see. I feel like your layout does a fantastic job at what modern day railroads in central Texas look like
Look forward to part 2.
Sweet setup! Great video!!
The dominos, the lowes, the super 8 motel, the little house on the hill behind dominos, the Shell station. Oh and then theres the trains...lol. I love it. (I imagine one day the automobiles will roll along like the trains and have actual "traffic")

Model railroad dealer: "We now offer modern BNSF 3-bay covered hoppers!"
Summit Model Trains: "I'll take your entire inventory."
Great video, by the way!

Layout looks so realistic
Love you layout
21:03 Nice looking NS model for 8101.
Hello I was wondering if anyone had cv values for speed matching my locomotives…I’ve been struggling for quite awhile and can’t figure it out any help would be appreciated
I don't know if you can see it in this video but where did you get the red and white radio tower?
I found it at a Train Show in Houston 6-8 years ago. It was a Mexican guy that had a company in Mexico who made them ready to install. Thay had a website but is has been closed for several years
Per, how did you fare after Hurricane Laura. I live over the I-10 bridge in Sulphur, La.
I lost 1/3 of the shingles on my roof which lead to some water damage on the 2nd floor (where the train room is). Other than that I had no structural damage.
The ceiling in the train room is plywood so it did not cave in from getting wet. The laminate floor got some damage but after it dried out it does not look so bad. For some strange reason and luck, the water only dripped in the walkways. No water on the layout at all!!
I was extremely lucky compared to the vast devastation in the neighborhoods around me.
Where is that hotbox detector from? That’s a neat decice
The talking hot box detector is from Boulder Creek Engineering: bouldercreekengineering.com/
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 thank you much!
Curious, are you a Danish or American guy, or something in between? Anyhow, a very intresting and vivid layout, the american spirit and energy is all over!. Greetings from Sweden!
Tackar för hälsningen Nils-Åke. I am both now. Born and raised in Denmark since 1958 and moved to the US in 2004. Became US citizen in 2016 when Denmark allowed dual citizenship.
2:42 cool horn... reminds me of the horns cp used on their sd40-2f triclops cowl locomotives, what is the horn file called?
I love it
How you make the layout
Great layout
Yeah, if I only had 20 grand lying around
chicken yum yum
Are all of these locomotives by athearn?
They are a mix of Athearn Genessis, Atlas, Intermountain and Scale Trains
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 Do you have a favorite out of the 3? I'm trying to find one to stick with to buy some UP.
@@railfanryan I prefer Athearn Genesis, manly because it is factory equipped with Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder, which I have standardized on. Scale Trains are also very detailed and prototypically correct to the engine number.
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 Alright, I was probably gonna go for Athearn anyways because I do have a few Athearns. Loved the video btw
Weird question but can you put one steam engine on there for diversity like you don't have to
yes an excursion train would be fun.
I agree with amtrak tbl
You should do one with the ceiling lights off! Night time trains
How big is the layout
it is in a 1100 sq.ft. room, you can see the measurements and track plan in this presentation video: ruclips.net/video/_NHY8FZ7QhM/видео.html
Thanks
Mmmm Denny’s
20:06 UP Train
is 1/50 SCALE
O
I had a comment typed out and disappeared! Loved all the Union Pacific trains!
I dont think bnsf or UP runs through waycross.
It is Waycross, Texas
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 they run through there as foreign power or actually.
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 i looked UP track map and I dont any tracks in Georgia.
@@FECironhorsepro It is STILL Waycross, TEXAS - a made-up town on my Texas layout. Like there is a Nashville in many other states than Tennessee.
@@summitmodeltrainvideos4440 oooooooohhhhh
