Yep, I’m stuck with that, im thinking about it all day, spend hours reviewing this content everyday.
I rarely learn anything new i feel like, its all the same stuff for me by this point, i know why i feel the way i feel and what i must do.
But i keep on engaging with this compulsively because it somehow still brings me comfort and reassurance.
And im tired of wasting HOURS of my day seeking reassurance just so i can be less afraid and seek relief…
Thank you, I needed this “slap” to wake me up a bit.

It definitely sounds like seeking information in an of itself has become a compulsion for you. It could be that you’re afraid of the unknown of implementing the tools by yourself. Watching videos like this (even though Matt’s videos are great) has become a safety behavior for you. Isn’t OCD so devious and awful like that? That the very treatment for it can become a compulsion?
Time to take revenge. Stay strong, keep practicing and sharpening your tools. Don’t even give an inch to OCD.

@@ShakrallStudios Thanks for the encouraging words, and yep it is sneaky like that. Makes me realize that those who have ocd interact even with “positive” things in a unhealthy compulsive way very often. There is still fear in the center is what it feels like, otherwise there wouldnt be a need to binge watch ocd content for relief

"The algorithm" just showed me this channel for the first time yesterday. It has over 800 videos. 800. And there are hundreds of other creators posting just as frequently.
Now here's what I really don't understand, and I think maybe we are owed an explanation. Many (but not all) of these folks are trained mental health professionals who no longer practice. Instead they decided to become "influencers" or "coaches" selling books and secret programs and living the life of a RUclipsr. AFAIK, they operate outside of any regulation or licensing. The fine print of Matt's website says quite literally "AT THIS POINT, MATTHEW CODDE NO LONGER PRACTICES AS A LCSW. MATTHEW CODDE NO LONGER HAS A CLINICAL PRACTICE. MATTHEW CODDE OPERATES SOLEY AS A COACH AND CONSULTANT."
So I find this video ironic at best. "Stop watching my videos. But please like and subscribe." I really do struggle to find the right word to describe my feelings. Exactly HOW is this helping me? Like you, whenever I find a new channel I waste hours looking at their videos, listening to their podcasts, downloading their books... and I never learn anything new. We should compare lists of all the people we've listened to, I bet they'd be quite similar. RUclips seems to show me a new one every day or two.
I started doing this for "education" but now I'm pretty sure it's become a compulsion, an avoidance mechanism from my anxiety and depression.
Maybe this comment will get deleted but I just needed to say these things.

I had to remove myself from many people because too many voices. Too many chefs in the kitchen ruins the meal. Im kinda just starting.

You're absolutely right, as always. You're a special person who really helps us. There are some people out there who are always saying that by watching their videos again and again, you will become unstuck.
When I read your book, my journey began. Using your TBC was the best things on this journey. Thank you so much.
