- From a pre-season game on August 25, 1985, the Bears and Cowboys have a couple of boxing matches.
Round 1 featured the Cowboys Randy White and the Bears Keith Van Horne.
Round 2 featured the Bears Keith Van Horne and the Cowboys "Too Tall" Jones.
Love how Randy came back out on the field for the 2nd fight lol
Yes I think that I remember him coming back out. He is probably the reason that they make players leave the field now.😂
Randy was the Don Frye of the cowboys.
I had the pleasure of meeting Randy and getting his autograph on a football about 10 years ago. I asked him about this and he said it was in the heat of the moment. He was reacting to the cheap shots the Bears linemen were taking. They had enough of it! He is a great guy.
Great story!
White took cheap shots from multiple teams during his career. They often double and triple team him and cut block him while he was engaged. It is amazing that he lasted as long as he did.
Randy White was an absolute beast. I remember Thomas Henderson telling the story about when he got into it with White in the locker room and Randy picked him up and stuffed him in a locker. As he was laying there, a teammate asked Hollywood why he would start a fight with the strongest guy in the league. He said that he thought about it, looked up and said, “ He is pretty strong isn’t he?”, lol. White was one of those rare people who was just naturally gifted; he could bench 500 pounds yet was fast enough to run down receivers.
I am not being prejudice since I am a Cowboys fan Wayne, but for also being a NFL fan, I can say he was the best DT I ever saw.
@@rog9601 That's not bias, its fact whoever you support. An alternative is Mean Joe or Lilly but that's it.
Randy was interviewed in the locker room later and asked what he had to say about yanking off a player's helmet and using it as a weapon. He answered: "He's lucky that his head wasn't still in it."
He wouldn't say that to Hampton singletary or dent would've had his head decapitated.
Must have been racial slur involved
@@CFB_TubeLOL How do you figure that? Both players were white. Do you think Randy called him a cracker? 🥴
@@CFB_Tube BS, not everything is racial.
Randy White and Keith Van Horne were both white. It wasn't racial at all!!!
So awesome to see this. I remember this vividly from when I was a kid. White was my favorite player. My grandpa gave me one of his undershirts and I drew the #54 on it and pulled it over my tiny shoulder pads.
And once you outgrew that you got an official 54 jersey right?
If anyone is curious, the Cowboys won this game 15-13
Pre season. Then, they were mauled in the regular season. 44 to zip.
So glad you posted this - I've been looking for this Randy White helmet swing on RUclips for a long time. Now we need the video posted of when Randy White pushed a Redskins o-lineman over by his facemask after a play was over in one of the 1980's rivalry games.
You are welcome 5454randy !
Sadly, the Cowboys were on the decline at this point of the 1980s. By the end of the 1980s, the organization was just a shadow of its former glory, but it happens with all teams.
I hate using the word, but the league began to function in a more communistic manner. Green Bay today has a metropolitan area smaller than the population of Plano, Texas. Achieving the goal of parity would prove that the NFL could manipulate the scores of the games.
This was the set up for that Bears game . When Chicago beat Dallas 55-0
It was 44-0 and Dallas actually swept the Redskins and Giants that year to win the NFC East. It was downhill from there for the Tom Landry Cowboys
This was a week 3 preseason game, August 26th 1985, hard to imagine this kind of fight in a preason game today or all the stars playing
Thanks for posting this Randy White kicks ass
maybe one of the best fights in nfl history
Thank you for posting this. I went to this game with my father, but we were running late. I was in the parking lot with the radio on listening to the game when the fight broke out. I was irritated that Randy White was ejected from the game and I would not be able to watch him play that night.
You are welcome, how fun to be there that night. I had not seen anything like this prior nor since.
That chic at the end was cute 🥰
and hot.
HAHAHA!! The Manster! Awesome 🤣👍
Randy is my favorite football star...especially when said he(Bear player)is lucky his head wasn't in his helmet.
The present team of the Dallas Cowboys could perform much better if every member of the offensive line would bleed blood before the end of the first quarter. The game is not the same today. There is no sense of quality. I guess that attitude starts at the top with the owner.
If I'm not mistaken later in the game Randy was in his street clothes on sidelines and came onto the field when another brawl broke out. I saw this game live when I was kid.
ILOVE THIS GAME YEP DAMN GREAT GSME
Ed Jones schooling cats.
Ngl, it's a lil weird seeing his named without the "Too Tall" lol
Them were the good old days!
Yes they were. And those guys were not getting obnoxiously rich like today
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was the NFL I loved!!!!!! LONG GONE.........................
Crazy that this went down in a preseason game. It was a different time. The Bears made the Cowboys pay in the regular season, 44-0.
Randy was the man. Man he held back with swinging that helmet
The announcers had a good time with this. Today’s announcers would be so sad and overly serious about a scuffle.
3:12 "Hi Joe!" Randi Oakes, who dated Joe Namath for over 7 years: 1970-1977
If that is Randi, she would be 35 years old here, I do not think it is her, it is more likely a beautiful fan in the seats. She does resemble her though.
Thanks for the video! Can you upload more NFL fights if you can find them?
Well Steelers fan, I did think this was an unusual incident, not sure what others I have but will look out for something that maybe has not been seen or forgotten. I liked this since Too Tall was a Boxer, as he boxed for a year in 1979. Yes, he has the reach! Maybe these players are not proud of their actions, maybe they are. The Bears' Keith Van Horne got in to it with the Cardinals the following year as well.
@@rog9601 That was the 1986 preseason, I am a fan of watching these old NFL fights back in the 80s, 90s, and even the early 2000s as well because I’ve never seen any of these and they’re really underrated to watch.
@@steelersfan1903 It was 1985, trust me.The Announcer even said these two teams meet later on this year. However the Bears and Cowboys did play in the 1986 pre-season as that game was in London.
@@rog9601 It was 1986, here’s the link to it: m.ruclips.net/video/lKEKxTTS6Hg/видео.html
@@steelersfan1903 yes, there is Keith Van Horne once again fighting with the Cardinals this time. Thanks for sharing !
Van Horne instigated that
Remember the super bowl when Andre Tippett went after Van Horne after both teams were leaving the field for halftime
I believe this was the 44-0 beat down the Bears gave us in ‘85. But I bet Too Tall learned his lesson about punching someone in the face while he’s still wearing a helmet!! #DC4L
ALWAYS read the description Devil Dog. This was not the regular season game in 1985.
This was a preseason game.
Randy White and Ed Jones are the last two guys you would want to get into a fight with. Randy, besides being the strongest man in the NFL (500 lb bench press), was a martial arts expert. Jones was an undefeated professional heavyweight boxer.
My Boyz! 🌟
Cool vid! Do u have the entire game???
I did at one time. As so many videos collected over time, it was a chore to keep them all. Perhaps it will arrive on YT some day. I do have a 1985 pre-season game that YT is blocking, but maybe in time they will release it. I have others but no I do not have all of this Bears game.
@@rog9601ok no worries brother thank you🙏
I remember this game. the bears were playing dirty the entire time. Refs were calling everything on Dallas, maybe 2 flags on Chicago. Even Coach Landry lost his cool.
Now that was football. Chicago fighting in their traditional sense of Butkus and others like him and the Cowboys and Randy white doing the same. And the announcers understood. Not like they are today apologizing to everyone in America because a fight breaks out. This was football!
Back when they'ed show babes in the crowd.
Must have been fun to be a cameraman at least. Somewhere out there a cameraman gets credit for finding Pamela Anderson at a Canadian football game that launched her to stardom.
The Cowboys won that pre season game, but the Bears came back that regular season and won 44-0.
Yes, the Bears pounced on every one that year !
Frank Gifford and OJ in the booth
My cowboys was frustrated
Who was the blonde at the end?
Randi Oakes I believe.
About the ONLY hitting Dallas did against the Bears that entire season. 44-0 Bears later on that season. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
3:14
This game is not from 1985!
Yes it is...and I can prove it, many times over. Trust me. First of all, it is the pre-season game, NOT the 44-0 game later in the season, which I think is what you are thinking. ALWAYS read the description details.
@@rog9601 I See.Correct.Cowboys sure did get a beating in regular season game 44-0!
@@samsonbabayan6894 yes we did, but everybody was in the Bears way that year.
TOLD YOU
It was a preseason game.
Back when it was a mans game. No one would wear pink back the, lol.
Was this the game where the Bears beat they ass 44-0?
ALWAYS ready the description Timothy.
@@rog9601 And attend English classes regularly
@jacklifeson That's funny. I remember seeing a sign at a stadium on television that said "Kick DallASS"
Preseason. Bortz would of trashed White.
They don't care what time of year it is, anger is anger. They did not "hold back" since it was not a regular season game.
Randy white looked totally jacked for this game
