I personally think this keyboard would be worth the money if it came with a hot swappable PCB. I honestly think more people would use Razer switches if you could buy them individually and didn’t have to use them on their keyboards, that being said, I also think more people would also be inclined to use a Razer board if they could put whatever switches they wanted into it if they wanted to match the rest of their set up. Those new Yellow switches are definitely an interesting animal and I would love to give them a try
The blackwidow was my first keyboard ever, I am so excited about this smaller wireless blackwidow! Edit: oof 179.99 Edit 2: I think they need to make a wired version for 120$-130$
not sure why, everyone says just get a huntsman mini with reds, but in my opinion its great to have a 65% size my favourite and yellow switches my favourite razer switch
I am into custom keyboards now, so I won't be buying this board, but it is still a cool release by Razer. Going 65% is awesome, and is the best layout imo. I definitely agree with you though, the line between the Blackwidow and Huntsman keyboards is getting really convoluted. It makes 0 sense to have ABS keycaps on a $180 keyboard, but PBT on a $120 board that is part of the more (premium line). For Razer to actually start making excellent keyboards, they need to adopt hotswap, PBT keycaps only, and better stabilizers (preferably plate mount). I really think that Razer would do well in the beginner keyboard enthusiast space, just like what Glorious is doing. You can build a 10x better custom 60% or 65% for the same price, and have it wired or wireless.
I bought this keyboard from Microcenter for $109, because they price-matched Best Buy. I bought the yellow variant, which I fell was a mistake. The key presses felt amazing, and the light effects were fantastic! That's the best I can say about this keyboard. As I said before, I got the Yellow Key variant, which is supposed to be for gamers. However, if you use your keyboard for anything... anything besides strictly gaming, that "J" button will invite itself every chance it gets! Your fingers need to be disciplined in at every moment, or button presses will happen by simply by grazing the top of them. It that's what you want, then far be it from me to give it a poor review; but it just became very, very annoying to me. Every now and then I would lose connection as well, just for a moment. The Razor app would also forget the keyboard about every other day or so, until I shut down the Synapse app and restarted it (could be an issue with my OS as well). Also, with RGB at 10 percent, the battery would last around three days (or more) of use; I typically used it a total of about eight hours throughout the day. However, with RGB at 30 percent or higher, I was lucky to get two full days out of it. Finally, while this won't apply to 99 percent of people, I use two keyboards at my desk; one for work, one for my desktop. I'm constantly switching the order of the two on my desk. The Razor is so difficult to pick up with one hand because of the front beveled edge. To be clear, many will love this keyboard. It's well built, feels great, and looks amazing. However, if you find yourself in any of the circumstances I'm in, you may find it very, very annoying.
The stablizers are actually the same as the huntsman and their hyperspeed technology is unmatched compared to other brands so idk abs is dumb though 60$USD is also insanely alot
its 130 board, wtf is with 180. I think at black friday it will cost 110 just wait for it, this is joke. I mean if switches were sounthfacing and keycaps were pbt and case high profile and aluminum than maybe maybe, but now meh. There are nowadays QMK bluetooth boards, which are much better
Absolutely love this keyboard. Simply had to get one with wireless and 2.4ghz transmitter. Been looking for a 65% for a long time with these specs. Finally one :) oh btw, if anyone can reccomend me a 65% wireless gaming keyboard with 2.4ghz (no bluetooth) that would be cool. Since Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini is the only one with those specs as far as I can tell.
Great Video and respect your opinion on this review but when it comes to other cheaper keyboards they are just that cheaper! There is only one Razer! Basically your review says that it's a good keyboard but not price. Would I like it cheaper? Yes but what I want is irrelevant. I would pay the $180 because switching out keycaps is not important to me and it's already been proven that most people don't customize their keyboards anyway. I just want a feature packed good keyboard. Value is with the consumer.
I have a huntsman mini, but it will be the last Razer product I ever buy. This thing is uglier than a Redragon, their aditional keycaps come in ugly pink and green colors, etc, etc. RAZER NEVER MORE!
Oof, charging a premium for the wireless, but those crappy keycaps! You called it, their pricing structure feels kinds out of whack. However, it's hard to find a quality 65% keyboard, with 2.4 GHz connection for a reasonable amount. Keychrons are good value, but I think they are all still BT??
totally agree on your point that the blackwidow line is in kind of a identy crysis and that wireless isn't the way to go. It would make much more sense to give the blackwidow line hotswap funktionality and moving it into the direction of the gmmk. Widely available and easy to mod for entry level enthusiasts, while the huntsman line offers speedfeatures like optical switches and what not.
@@Brainbean you are probably right. On the other hand had razer a very close ear to the market in the past 3 years and their reps are constantly seeking feedback from r/mechanicalkeyboards and r/mousereview. If the gmmk pro will be a succes, i doubt that razer would let glorious take over that growing market by themselves.
@@Brainbean the only thing I see them doing is making a proprietary hotswap system that would keep you in their own switch line. That way people can swap out clicks for linears or even switch to optical when they feel like it.
Keyboard is cool and all but what's up with that weird wrist wrest for mice, either make it an entire wrist rest or remove it. It's just taking unnecessary space imo
idw, i have huntsman mini right now, and the blackwidow v3 mini is price drop right now on amazon, it was 299.95 AUD and right now is 189 AUD. should i buy the v3 mini ?
Me: buys huntsman tkl beacuse needs space but also arrow and cursor control keys Razer: here it is a new 65% keyboard (so more space and the same functionality) Me: son of a.... Razer: 180$ Me: FUCK NO, my huntsman tkl has optical switches, pbt keycaps and got it for 90$
After owning a Huntsman, Huntman Mini and now the DURGOD VENUS, I will never go back to Razer. Been over a month waiting for a replacement to my factory defective Hundsman Mini.
Hey man. Your final section on the difference between blackwidow and hunstmen is very valuable for me. Im starting to move from console to pc and need your advice. Which one is more valuable for gaming and productivity: blackwidow v3 mini, huntsman analog v2 or ROG Claymore II? Please help
All you guys keep stressing that the high price is solely the result of wireless tech. It's a combination of the wireless 2.4, Bluetooth, as well as the new dongle tech giving you the ability to use one dongle with multiple devices. My only complaint is that they didn't offer it in the orange switches.
Wish 75% keyboards were more common. I bought a 65% (Perixx 428) but it turns out I use the function row and num row quite a bit and using the Fn key was a pain (espcially for typing macrons as I had to hit shift, esc, fn and a vowel all at the same time). Bought a Keychron K3 with optical browns and it's much better.
although those cheap wireless keyboards arent really "wireless" but rather bluetooth, but still ur point is valid. the stabs tho, holy shit they are awful, something like old corsair spacebars.
Serious oof on the price tag of this one. What do you guys think about the Blackwidow V3 Mini???
I think they should make a wired one 50$ cheaper
The only pro is wireless 2.4 connection. Mediocre switches, stabs, caps. Not worth the price.
wired one 100 bucks should not be more than that. Keycaps aint insane, its 65% aswell

Not in mercury, not on my wishlist.
We need a Huntsman 65% Wireless with palm rest and USB pass-through. The Perfect keyboard.
how are you supposed to have usb passthrough on a wireless keyboard
@@aymanmanjur1064 Just dreaming.
Razer said that they can't do a wireless huntsman because of the optical switches
They can do it, but the nature of the optical switches always being on with the light would drain the wireless way to fast and be useless
For that pricing you can build a budget custom keyboard with way better sound and feel lol
The blackwidow was my first keyboard ever, I am so excited about this smaller wireless blackwidow!
Edit: oof 179.99
Edit 2: I think they need to make a wired version for 120$-130$
The asus Rog falchion if better and Cheaper
wired should be less because it could compete with their own huntsman mini.
@@mining_steve The Rog Falchion is wireless and has a lot more of features and cost only 130$
I will go with the huntsman mini it's better because of the switches, durability and price
not sure why, everyone says just get a huntsman mini with reds, but in my opinion its great to have a 65% size my favourite and yellow switches my favourite razer switch
No wrist rest? oh boy
You really should go deep into custom keeb world. Put these trash razer stuffs into the bin and get into the REAL KEYBOARD COMMUNITY
Was SO close to a reason for switching my Blackwidow TE V2. No orange tactile switches, and an insane price tag.
Everything else is crispy

They should just start selling the huntsman mini in all of their switch options, being optical, analog or the mechanical ones
unbelievable price, it should've came with a wrist rest too
i feel like this keyboard is awesome, but for a 65 percent size it should actually cost less than more because it requires less materials to make

someone need to slap some sense into Razer, their pricing strategy with blackwidow lineup recently is ridiculous
$180 damn
they went mechanical switches because optical switches eat a lot of battery life my problem is why not pbt ?
Not in mercury, not on my wishlist. CMON RAZER!
Would Razer’s own PBT keycap set fit this board?
Used anne pro2 for $50 got my mini wireless keyboard fix met
Q: Should I buy it?
A: Yes.

What are the switches?
Oh wait Nvm lol
ABS keycaps for that price - what a joke
Yeah my GK61X iwth PBT keycaps costs like ehmm... 60 bucks or something
My wallet's already hiding under the bed lol. Will buy this kb as soon as it is available in my area.
Give us a wired version and fix the damn stabilizers.
Ay that size I don't know why they remove the Function line
The lack of Synapse for Mac is the only thing putting me off something like this
Those yellow switches with dampeners are the reason this is worth it. nothing else like it.
Added to my cart on Amazon so I’ll get updates when price drops or is on sale. Asking price is insane.
Waiting for 140€-150€ is good for me and for you OP?
Which one is better claymore ii or this one?
Optical switches would not work with the current technology because the laser would be too much of a battery drainer, so mech is the only option.
my GK61X literally has optical gaterons and it's also wireless. I dont know how many hours because i always use it with usb-c.

Why do people find the price outrageous? It’s 70 dollars less than the full size wireless version, and it’s 50 less than Logitech’s g915 tkl
In my review of the fullsize wireless version I said the same thing basically. $250 for the V3 pro is also insane.
