      Great to see the easy mix between using different tools together!
      It would be great to see something done in one of those dramatic lighting schemes that draws the eyes to the standard heights and positions of the miniatures. Kind of like those artworks that imply stretching out way past the scope of the screen yet it’s still easy to pick out the main actors. Thinking for the terrain to frame the models while still looking good on their own

    Love it a great use of the foliage many seem to forget the secret to using it is to have a pallet of it of varying shades types and to layer it like we would paints worth noting on small projects and their use, less is more.

    I am thoroughly enjoying your videos! And I am learning! I've been painting minis and terrain for my D&D games for years and I know my way around a paint pallet but that dampening pad and the round stipling brush has been a game changer for me! That technique is amazing! I used it myself for the first time tonight to do some fire and ember effects on an efreet I'm working on. I love the results. Nicely revived! I have to say, it reminds me a bit of 1960's Star Trek - where they put all their effort into creating one small piece of ruinous alien scenery (such as this) and the rest of the 'planet' was a couple of polystyrene rocks and a pink backdrop.

    This is awesome work man. I also have a large selection of different tufts (the Army Painter range of them is awesome) but I have never really mixed and matched the different ones on the same piece so you've given me some good insight here and when you explain it in terms of open areas and recessed areas getting different light and moisture it makes perfect sense so I'll be stealing that from you ;)

    no such thing as too many tufts! Every time I go and do a big shop I end up buying more small containers for basing material storage and it helps it look like I'm not overrun! (something about the uniformity of the storage distracts from the contents)

    • @Boldenone17
      @Boldenone17 4 года назад +1

      you just reprime it and you are good to go. Im using cork boards for drybrushing in my commissions for many years. It sucks paint really nice, and texture helps you to see amount of paint you have on a brush and control it nicely. You can check my insta mahoscrookedworkshop, all my terrain is done more or less by this technique. Artis Opus is amazing artist, and these texture palettes are brilliant idea. try it, its game changer.

    • @ArtisOpus

    Great video Byron the channel is gold. Can I ask when finishing terrain do you give it a spray with a Matte varnish? Would you do this prior to applying tufts too?

    • @ArtisOpus
      @ArtisOpus  3 года назад +1

      Hey Stuart, often mate, just pays to protect the stuff as it often gets abused/packed away! Doesn't matter too much with tufts, although I guess if you did it after that may doubly-secure them, if you've pva/superglued them though it's not too necessary to further secure :).
