I really thought the beavers were good. That they were eating the bad guys. When it started chewing on martin I was disappointed
I think that was an oversight by the author

It might be because they entered there territory and they wanted to punish them for it

I interpreted this to mean that Martin wasn’t actually all that good. This was kind of foreshadowed earlier in the story, with him constantly judging Mary Ellis, and his refusal to change his outlook on her even after being presented with numerous opportunities to do so upon seeing that his preconceived notions of her were false. I don’t think he was really all that good, after all. It sounds like maybe he had a bad streak, an unkind heart, and the beaver was able to sense that...

Killing Martin kind of killed the story. He wasn't evil. It sounds like the beavers are just carnivorous and people are just dumping victims off to them.
I thought that was the idea in the end. The beavers don't actually kidnap people and eat them, people discovered the carnivorous beavers and have been using them to dispose of "bad people" or maybe people that try to leave idk if that's right that's just what I thought

Honestly the way i think about it is that Martin was a "Bad person" in the traditional sense. He was judgemental, condescending and dismissive. Hypocritical aswell.
He wasnt by any means evil no, but he wasnt good either. And it was specified "Bad people", not evil people.
Martin came across as a bit of a bully, someone who contributed to rumors, hatred and judgemental views. And he even refused to change those views or admit his mistake when he was shown that she was really just a girl.

Yeah, the "evil eye" was kind of... useless by the end. Really thought she or her Grandmother were connected to the beavers somehow
Martin didn't deserve that :/ aside from that these kids were written really good, I'd love for a series with the trio but well, sucks for Martin

I’ve been listening to these stories for a little over two years and I love every one of them. I even listen to them while I was at work. I love this channel.
Martin deserved better. My man is in 5th grade and had the bravery to say go on without me instead of screaming help me. These 3 kids were well written. Would have loved to see more of em.
This is so well written. Wonderfully constructed characters, great exposition. I feel there should be more to this. At least two more hours. Especially Mary Alice deserves a lot more story.

Man what a cool story! I was hooked from 2 min into it. But it really made my eyes go wide when he said the beavers turned the whole damn truck over! That’s one enormous beaver troupe! One question: Mary Alice has said that the beavers only take the bad people, yet it took Martin? Was that particular beaver just already pissed off? Or was that just part of what was told to scare the kids strait? Excellent story and writing, and needless to say outstanding narration! I love it when I see that over one hour number👍 I know it’s gonna be good then☠️☠️☠️

The beavers are omnivores, much like bears, they don't aim for the neck, they rip and tear, until you die from the wounds, not like wolves and cougars, they eat while dead or alive

Hey, Canadian here, I can confirm, in our northern reaches we have beavers like this, they can be a bit rowdy, but mostly coexist with humans, they’re omnivorous, so farming or gardening and tossing them some fruits of the labor is a common practice.
What an amazing show of how creepypastas can have a pretty strong moral behind them. Just one question: the beavers punish people who do bad things, what did Martin do wrong?

I loved listening to this story. It had this awesome eerie vibe in it that most stories do not pull off, but I don't think I understand the concept of the beavers. The story seemed to make it pretty clear that they only take the bad ones, but then they decided to chomp down on my boy Martin. Was he supposed to secretly be one of the bad ones, or did beavers just eat everyone? If they do eat everyone, then why didn't they attack the kids before? I'm just a bit confused, I guess.
All I can think about is the beaver trapping joke from It Chapter 1

This one was shaping up to be this awesome "It" meets "Goonies" kind of story and then the plot fell apart at the end.
No matter how good your narration is (and it's excellent, as always), beavers just aren't scary.
But I admire anyone who goes, "Leave me and save yourself". You better believe that I will never let go of your hand. "Don't you dare leave me behind. I don't care if ghosts are real or not, I *WILL* haunt your ass!"
