One thing that was pointed out to me was that they demonstrated that Edna’s suits were so much better. Violet couldn’t destroy the suit when she tried shredding it but Elastigirl’s suit ripped pretty easy in the end of the movie and was immediately replaced by Edna’s
Its insane how huge of a necessity edna is for superheros here, next gen her suits can probably push planets

Also in the first movie Edna pointed out that the family super-suits were indestructible. Specifically Elastigirls. It would explain how when they were flying to the island, right before the jet exploded Elastigirl jumped back and covered the kids up with her suit. It’s why they survived but with her taking the direct explosion it briefly knocked her out. Edna’s insanely talented.
The reason why the family didn’t know that jack jack had powers because they weren’t able to see him clearly enough to see him use his powers while he was high up in the air with Syndrome.
They even said "what's happening??" During that moment because Syndrome was literally flying out of control with Jack Jack

@@bqbrebre7218one thing that concerns me though is in the short Jack Jack Attack, we learn that Kari (the babysitter) had her memory wiped by Rick to keep her quiet because she witnessed Jack Jack’s powers in action. So that means that Rick knew about Jack Jack’s powers but he didn’t y’know…. Tell Jack Jack’s parents?

Jack Jack actually showed many of these powers in “Jack Jack Attack” which was released on dvd alongside the first Incredibles. The laser eyes weren’t new anyway.

@@mev1221What does that even mean? It’s a good movie on it’s own merits but it’s bad as a sequel to the movie that came before it? How does that work? How can a movie continuing the story of a previous movie be good on its own but a bad sequel?
@@ammash3000 basically that it was good as something stand alone but as a sequel it fails because it regresses the characters. It doesn’t really feel like a continuation to the story of the original. That’s my 2 cents anyway.

So fun fact: Winston was originally planned to be the twist main villain, but everyone felt that would've been way too obvious. So they chose his sister Evelyn instead which, honestly, she ended up being pretty obvious as one as well. But my main complaint is how inferiror Evelyn is to Syndrome. Syndrome's main motivation to get rid of heroes was because his idol blew him off for putting people in harms way. Petty, yes but it actually makes sense for his character. Evelyn, however, wanted to get rid of heroes because her father relied on them too much and they didn't show up in the middle of the night during a home invasion instead of going to his safe room?
She was pretty obviously the villain considering her name is a very on-the-nose play on "evil endeavor."

Wanna know how obvious it was? When I watch it for the first time in the theater, I leaned over to my cousin who went with me and said "Winson in the villain for sure." Then the SECOND Evelyn walked in, I leaned over and said "Nevermind, it's her."
Y'all might not believe me, but I swear I'm not making it up.
I was 13 when this came out, and when we saw this in theaters, me and my entire family (including my younger sister) predicted who the villain would be once we saw her on screen.
I understand it, from the point of view of a builder (like Ironman), they want to solve problems themselves. Not rely on superheroes.
Jack Jack is gonna be the most powerful super hero on the planet when he’s older. He has like infinite powers.

Everyone's talking about Jack Jack but no one seems to appreciate how incredible Frozone is as a superhero, he could defeat all Icecasters I know, even Jack Frost.
Cool Fact: Winston Dever and Dicker are voiced by Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks so Saul Goodman and Mike Ermentrout are in this film 😂
Don't underestimate Mr. Incredible's recon skills. Remember in the first movie where he snuck into Syndrome's base and figured out his plan to kill the heroes and unleash the robot? He only got captured due to outside interference.
I think because he was very reckless with his hero work with little damage control. Remember when he rescued the cat? He uprooted the entire tree and then used the same tree to stop the bad guys’ car.

I honestly love Screenslaver as a villain, not so much Evelyn. Theres so many cool elements built up for him and a good mystery. It just kinda lost steam, like Taskmaster in Black Widow: a cool villain kinda tossed aside for some regular person with a grudge. I wish they handled it like how the Riddler ended up being in The Batman. Less about it being "ooo its someone you knew this whole time" more "its someone affected by this big drama in the past that weve been slowly uncovering"
Their powers are to do with their names violet is named violet bc of her purple invisibility power, dash is dash bc he is fast, and jack jack,jack of all trades
Violet is not the stealth person, also know she can use force shield

You know what I like about Frozone? A lot of times when you have a character with an elemental power (ice quite often) their powers will be tied to their emotional state (like Elsa from Frozen or the Ice King from Adventure Time) and they are usually afraid of their powers, or in Ice King's case not mentally stable enough to handle them. That's interesting, of course, but it's nice to see an ice character that is so confident and can use his powers effectively pretty much every time. Pardon the pun but he's just a cool guy!

A good movie and a good sequel are different from each other a movie can be good but it can also be a bad sequel at the same time

Exactly! Mr Incredible actually did more than save his life. He gave him more time to think about life and if it was really worth it.
Spoiler alert, ending your existence is never the answer. It causes so much more harm than you realise because of the people in your life that are forever affected.
A lot of people have reasonable criticisms with the film, but I always enjoyed it over it's predecessor for the urban setting over the mysterious island.
Not much of a fan of this sequel as the first. Mainly because of the villain, who is much less interesting than Syndrome was. But, I did enjoy the scene with Jack Jack battling the racoon, that was very entertaining to me.

People are angry about The Incredibles arrested and I'm like, this isn't a time period with instant communication so not everyone is in agreement they should be working, the law still has outlawed Superheroes at that time and nobody knows the kids are superhumans or allowed to even be superheroes.
This is a case of reality ensuing and honestly, from the cops’ perspective I don’t wholly blame them for being angry at them.
The problem is that the original heavily implied that supers were legal again. Another problem is that the movie frames the family's decision to jump into action against the Underminer as the wrong thing, even though they literally stopped him from inflicting more damage and saved countless lives.
@@vetarlittorf1807 It didn’t say that super’s were legal again though, just that people were talking about their possible return. And from the police perspective they didn’t stop the Parrs from causing damage or escaping with the money. There is no problem I can see here aside from the movie not going the direction people expected it to.
@@ammash3000 No, but it was HEAVILY implied that they were legal. Hence the Parrs had their suits on 3 months after saving the city.
And the movie didn't go the direction people expected it to. You're absolutely right. Because people did not expect everything to be reset to square one. Character-wise and worldbuilding-wise.
@@vetarlittorf1807 I don’t see anything being reset. Maybe set back some, but that’s not a bad thing IMO. Setbacks are common in all things in real life. Incredibles 1 was more about the Parrs coping with the aftermath of supers being made illegal and ended with the implication that the world would be moving *toward* legalizing them again. This movie is about them actually following through and making it happen.

Great Sequel to The Incredibles
There’s a short film called auntie edna
The Incredibles 2 is alright. I expected more than a gender swap repeat with Elastic girl. It felt almost the same story with the same drama between the characters, the super heroes are illegal again, instead of Mr incredible, Elastic girl going to a secret mission which is trick from the villain, just the first movie. I like the animation, it’s cool, it has a unique style and color scheme. The main villain is great though. The ending fighting scene with the full family teaming up which should have been the focus. The family dynamic is the reason the first was so good. The whole movie involving Elastic girl is a bit lame in my opinion.
Violet has the most potential beside jack jack
It's not as great as the first one, but it’s still stands as a perfectly serviceable as a follow-up with strong first two acts.
Its a wonderful sequel and always fun to see Jak JaK.

I always thought the twist would’ve been better if it was revealed halfway to the viewer that Winston and Evelyn were working together. Then when Elastigirl finds out, they reveal their motivations. Winston really does want to help the Supers become legal but he wants to take it further. He blames the leaders who outlawed Supers for his dad’s death, and has decided that in addition to making them legal, he’s going to put them in power. He knows the Supers wouldn’t willingly rule as dictators so he uses Evelyn’s technology to hypnotize them so that they can kill everyone in power and anyone who doesn’t support them while, in Winston’s view, taking over their rightful place as society’s rulers. Winston, this way, could be a reverse of Syndrome as someone who worships Supers too much to the point where he’s willing to hurt as many people as possible to help them.
Evelyn could just be the anarchist chill tech-based villain who’s happy Winston’s using her genius for some actual gadgets.
