Monsters University can easily be relatable to those who are exactly like Mike. Sometimes you can try your hardest and put in years of work and still fall short of your goals, because there are some things in life that you'll never be able to do. But that doesn't mean you can't find where your true talent lies somewhere else.
This movie became very relatable to me. Just like Mike, I was told by my school superiors that I wouldn’t succeed in the class programs. However, that motivated me to prove them wrong and I definitely did prove them wrong, for I have finished college with an Associate and Bachelor’s degree! So, mission accomplished!
In primary school, my teachers apparentely didn't have an obligation to follow rules when grading students, they could give you a 6 just because they did not like your accent, I am 100% sure that was not legal. A teacher told me he would make sure I didn't pass just because he didn't like me, you can't imagine the scandal that was generated when all the moms found out about that.
It is a nice story but this movie wasn’t about to become successful to prove them wrong. We seen a lot of good movies about the MC to prove them wrong despite their disadvantages. However this movie just defines you that you’re are a failure but doesn’t mean to applied every program. You have other options that you can be successful just accepting the impossibility from the past.
@@andyherrera5871 I didn’t say that was the point of the story though, just that I had a similar experience of people doubting my ability to succeed in a program that I attended, nothing more.
One thing I love about this movie besides it being Mike's moment that while Mike untimely failed to be scary, he ended up being very funny and as revealed at the end of Monster's Inc, laugh power is much more powerful than screams and Mike excels at being funny. He ended up being successful in a different way which I am sure has surprised everyone

I've never really understood how people could dislike this movie, just so many triumphant moments that makes you genuinely proud of each character. And I love the touch of reality that taking pride in who you are and what you do will get you far, even if it's not originally what you imagined for yourself.
I love Heartscrabble as a antagonist! She's not a villain, but she is the opposing force to Mike and Sully. She's never wrong in her statements. She's never belittling Mike. She's stating the absolute truth: Mike is not scary in look or mannerisms. You can study all you want but that doesn't make you qualified for work in that field. It's like a guy with no legs trying to become an Olympic runner; it's not likely in the slightest. (Sure there are your real world exceptions, but the sentiment still stands.) And in the end they did something that not many monsters had ever done. They surprised and terrified her, and she grew as a monster because of it. Great antivillain right there
To be fair any adult would likely shit their pants at Sully roaring in their face like that, especially after all the horror movie shit that was happening in the build up to it. They did think there was a large bear at the camp.
Yeah Randall and Mike were roommates for a while then Randall he joined ROR popularity got to him became friends with the cool kids and the final straw that broke him was the scare test and got humiliated accidentally by sulleys roar causing him to shift colors due to his Camaflauge abilities and vowed to never be humiliated by sulley or mike again his personality switched drastically from sweet and shy to bitter and sour

I think this one is okay. The only problem it reconned the original movie of monster inc. since there was a line that Mike mentioned that Sully met each at kindergarten. But in this one they first met in university. It bugs me while watching but side that, it’s a decent prequel.
@@ronweber1402 I pretty sure the director of this movie was aware of that but couldn’t figure out how fit the kindergarten Sully and Mike friendship bit in the movie and connected to main story of them in university. They wanted Mike to have some type of conflict with Sully due being a better scarer but them knowing each other since wouldn’t make the story workout. It wasn’t that they forgot but to make the storyline to work out.
The plot of Monsters University details Mike and Sulley's first meeting, but this created a continuity error from the first film in which Mike tells Sulley that he has been jealous of his looks since the fourth grade. Director Dan Scanlon said he had a dilemma with this line during pre-production, but he believed it was best if Mike and Sulley meet in college because, "we wanted to see their relationship develop when they were adults. And we also felt like college is so much about self-discovery and figuring out who you are." He added, "It felt like the perfect place to do this, but we had that line. So we tried versions where they met young and then we skipped ahead to college. And we knew we didn't want to make Monsters Elementary." Scanlon said during pre-production that, "Pete Docter, the original director, and John Lasseter ... finally said to me, 'it's great that you're honouring that, but you have to do what's right for the story.' So we made a tough decision to just have them be in college and put that line aside." Scanlon also said the line from the first film is, "an old monster expression" and "That's what monsters always say to each other." (Taken from the Pixar wiki)...
Speaking of jeepers creepers, i was recently finally able to add a vhs copy of the movie to my collection lol y’all should react to it tbh, and honestly the story across the 3 movies is actually pretty underrated in my opinion.

41:40 What did he do To Go Jail In One time tho 😭💀
I think this one is okay. The only problem it reconned the original movie of monster inc. since there was a line that Mike mentioned that Sully met each at kindergarten. But in this one they first met in university. It bugs me while watching but side that, it’s a decent prequel.
That's the one bit of lacking continuity that bugs me as well.
I don't like beating myself up about little miniscule & forgettable lines thinking they'll ruin a movie.
I can’t believe people let such a minuscule line effect there enjoyment of the movie.
You guys need to watch The Prince of Egypt!
this dude on the left needs to stop with his unhinged comments so i can actually enjoy the videos haha
Has anyone realized that squishy wasn’t there when the oozmas ran out the door
During the Library game? That's because his hidden talent was being unoticable.
Speaking of jeepers creepers, i was recently finally able to add a vhs copy of the movie to my collection lol y’all should react to it tbh, and honestly the story across the 3 movies is actually pretty underrated in my opinion.
What movie
@@ItchyBurritoMiniAltThingy jeepers creepers
Great Prequel to Monsters Incorporated
The Dean was voiced by the absolute legend Helen Mirren. There’s nothing she’s in that isn’t awesome by default.
Idk why but I like this movie more than the first … it’s all just a vibe
The graphics in this one is incredible
Definitely
Mike may not have been scary, but he is funny. And laugh power is stronger.
29:41 the subtitles
11:48 what sound effects? You talking about Mike Wazowski's scream?
