Yup
U should
#Bingers you should definitely watch kung fu panda
Thank you Billy! Got my water and ready to finish watching your reaction 🫶🏼
"After you lose, no one will remember you"'
"Maybe. But when you lose, no one will let you forget it"
Never get tired of hearing this 👏🏼
he ate that line
Gives me chills every time I hear that line 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You know Billy is feeling a song when he says "wait a minute" lmao. I love the reaction😭❤
Y’all know my tell tell signs 😂
And when he screams “what are we doing?” 😂❤
“THAT WAS HARD!” 🗣️
"WHO PRODUCED THIS?!"
My best friend in high school and I took different paths after graduation. She went to college and I went into the Marines. We use to talk about how all the things that happened in the dorms also happened in the barracks. Same age group, same mindset, same emotional maturity. It doesn't matter, we were all stupid but we all thought we were grown.
Years later, when my son was in school, I thought it would be a good idea to get a job as a paraeducator so that we would be on the same school schedule. It soon became very clear that I can not handle spending 8 hours a day in a classroom. I love kids but I really don't have the patience for it. I don't know how teachers do it.
Lastly, when Monster's University came out, my son and I went to see it in the theaters because we both were big fans of Monster's Inc. For years, we had this running argument about which was better. I thought Monster's Inc., he thought Monster's University. After re-watching it a few times, I had to concede that Monster's University was better. I do still think though that the two movies are underappreciated and some of the best in Pixar's catalogue.
I'm pretty sure the color of Dean Hardscrabble is puse, which I'm just realizing is a callback to the colorcoded paperwork in the first movie. This film is great!
Charlie Day nailed his role as Art! He has me cracking up the whole time.
His voice is really good for animated characters. Can’t believe he’s only voiced like 3 characters. He’s great for voice acting
He might only voiced art Benny and Luigi
I worked at a gas station a guy comes in and we’re talking. He was a character designer and he was working on a project and he pulls out the design images of the dean. It comes out and I’m like that’s so damn cool 😂
I'm from the UK and I went to college. However, our college is what you'd call University. College is where we go to study a chosen subject after finishing school, whereas your college is where you go to drink and stay up all night
Also we start college when we're 16 and finish when we're around 18 or 19
Mal-ni-fi-cent 😂😂 the consistency with the name changes is hilarious
That "But Daddy I love him" gave me real Ariel from the little mermaid vibes lol
8:39 some schools have “traditions” where you touch a statue before entering a building or area. example: every time we would enter the football stadium at my highschool, there was a little statue we had to touch for “good luck”. its fine if you didnt do it, but it was just the norm to always tap it before starting anything on the field
Your Kel shirt just unlocked a 20+ year old core memory for me. *happily sings the Dude Song*
2:38 i skipped the ad then went back bc this is actually just what i need 😭 thanks imma check it out
😂 I’m glad you came back love
0:57 kinda the plot of the Disney+ series, Monsters at Work.
3:20 Just wanted to say that here in Finland students, of all ages call their teachers/professors by first name.
And normally teachers/professors call students by first name as well.
Actually, it usually applies in the work industry in Finland as well. 🤔
I am still in college I am still learning these lessons
I would have been 10 and turning 11 that year when this movie came out! I loved it then and I still do now!
Gotta love how Don Carlton did what Billy always says he’s gonna do to Mommas
always love your reactions, billy! love your shirt too btw!
Smaller can be scary even cute creatures can be misleading so definitely can be scary
This is my favorite of the franchise I’m so excited I’m mad I keep missing the Premier but I’m a watch this playback though 😂💜💜☺️
This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was about 7 and I can't believe it's turning 10 years old this year!
Empire, Sorrentino in college and high school
Im a daycare teacher and im called by my first name, mommy, and teacher. My last name seems to never click as if it isn't just Smith lmao
Fun Fact -
Kappa is the 10th letter in the Greek alphabet, and a Japanese water demon.
Cowley county community college was just like living in the bricks in Fort Sam Houston(San Antonio), Lackland(San Antonio), and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story(Virginia Beach)
Lord we’re ther so many A.R.I. cases
Hey don't knock the mail room. I'm trying to work for the post office and I'm going to have to start in the mail room lol

I went to Texas Woman's University. T Dub, You Know! 😂
Can you pls do work at monster ink
You should watch Guardians of the galaxy 3 ^^
The Fact that this movie was made 12 years later after the first film means that the audience from that movie were already in College during this movie’s release aka similar to how the characters in this movie are in college. Pretty great timing.
From what I’ve heard we needed this too. It’s the movie none of us asked for but the one we needed 😭
They did the same with Toy Story 3. Most of us who watched it as little kids were college aged when Andy was.
Yes haha. I’m a college student now and it’s such a fun watch ngl
I was one of those kids and I went to watch this in theaters in college lol
@@Pinkladyisv
Toy Story 3 came out the summer before my senior year of high school. There’s a new level of emotional when you’re filling out college applications and see that movie.
15:48 that's a reference to Boo in the first movie!
Her file says she's afraid of snakes. That's why Randall was her monster. And when she saw Sulley roar, she cried instead of screaming.
OOOOOH
She says *him and *his it’s a boy, not Boo
@@imjorkingmypeanits you must be fun at parties
@@imjorkingmypeanits either way I think it’s still a reference to Boo
@@imjorkingmypeanits they didn’t say it was Boo, they said it was a reference to her…. Obviously Boo wouldn’t have been alive in this movie as she’s a child in the first one.
I love this movie so much cus it has such a unique message. You can try your hardest and want it the most, but some things still don't turn out how you want them to. But thats ok you make changes to the plan. Mike never got to be a scarer but he discovered that he's a really good coach, he can still work on the scare floor. The movie came out when ppl who watched the first one as kids were in that kind of university/ finding your place in the world stage and its really important to hear sometimes things don't work out and somethings aren't the right fit for you and thats ok, its going to be ok, cus if you keep trying you will find something thats right for you.
Yes exactly how I feel! This is a top 5 Pixar movie for me and I like it more than the first. People are often surprised when I say it’s one of my favorites so this is essentially how I describe it to them. As a young millennial I feel like all the media I consumed growing up really only taught the idea of “if you try hard enough you can achieve anything you want.” That’s a great message, but misguided for many as it makes it seem like you’re a failure if you can’t achieve something exactly as you planned. This became my comfort movie, especially during the pandemic.
not only is it a great message because sometimes things don't work out the way you expected them to, but it's also a great message surrounding disability. the "you can do anything" mantra rings false if you have a disibility that literally makes it impossible for you to do certain things. even if mike isn't disabled, his appearence and general state of being prevents him from being a scarer - he could try forever, and he does, but some things just aren't possible for some people. i think it's a much healthier message, that just because you can't do anything doesn't mean you have no worth as a person
As someone who is disabled I really liked this message.. it’s heartbreaking on one hand bc you see nothing but a liability
Bruh im so surprised billy finally remember the characters names normally he be callin them any type of name 😂😂
“I can’t go back to jail” still my fav. throwaway line from this movie😂
It's been SO long since I had seen this movie so when he said that I was like WHAT u would be in juvenile not Jail cuz AGAIN means u did that ahead of time when YOUNG cuz usually people going into college are like 19 or 20.
“Of all the sewers on campus, this has always been my favorite”
Arch has got something shady going on, im tellin you.
I died laughing at that part 😂😂😂😂
I never realized how amazing Mike is. He's such a well written character and the movie really makes you root for him. I like this movie more than the original. It has the better story, and even though its the same characters the movie made them a lot better by giving us their backstory and now we understand them a lot more. Mike is definetly my favorite character from this movie and in my top 10 favorite pixar characters
I know he reads all kinds of books 😂😂😂
Mike isn't wearing braces anymore when he enters university, those are his retainers! Which is a nice continuity nod because you have to wear them after you're done with braces.
In the first movie Mike says he and Sulley have been friends since 4th Grade, but here they meet in University....Monster Mandela Effect! 👹🎓
It could just also be an exaggeration
@@annielovesu1 4th grade is too specific to be an exaggeration
@@annielovesu1 sure, because every fourth grader looks like a college student. 💀
The lack of continuity to the first Monsters Inc was definitely insulting, even though, I can still enjoy Monsters University once in a while.
In the Monsters Inc teaser years ago, I also remember them saying how young they knew each other when Sully told Mike "Remember the 5th grade? While you were passing love notes to Susie Boils, the rest of us were studying Geography, this is not Mongolia."😆
"They look like accountants. Ya'll shouldn't be scaring anything but numbers, when you're crunching them!" Facts! Also, Billy is hilarious. 🤣🤣
I’m always saying this is better than M Inc, the story and characters more relatable, the message more helpful: You can still find happiness if you fail. Clinging to unattainable goals can destroy your mental, emotional, and physical health. Try your best, but learn your limits and adapt as needed. Don’t destroy yourself because you don’t fit the mold.
Why does Randall hates Sulley?
When the ROR members last appear: Randall isn't with them, *implying* they kicked him out. *Randall's resentment probably derives from the fact that Mike and Sulley got him kicked out of the top fraternity.*
It’s because at the finals of the scaring games Sully did a roar which made the ground shake and made Randall get less points
WOAH maybe they made him fail?? The university. So...he wasn't really angry with Sully it was Mike cuz that was the last thing he remembers.
Woops I got the names mixed up.
Man the way Billy was so excited for Mike
And then the feelings dropped instantly once he found out Sully cheated
Funny thing to me is that out of every single child there is in the world, I’m sure there are some kids who would be scared of Mike. I mean he’s a freaking green one eyed monster like what little child might not be scared of that? Especially younger children like toddlers, the girls he encountered in the cabin looked around 6 or 7 and they probably didn’t have any phobias to anything he could do.
I mean, if he did the same as that pink one, he could have scared the shit out of ppl. Specially since he knows how to build suspence
As a child he had always seemed scarier, I don't know even today I find the concept of him sort of scary.
I absolutely HATE smaller monsters, they give me the scares.
They're able to hide in small spaces, probably more agile then you are, and could climb on top of you, hell no
Bro actually when they showed him as a kid I was kinda scared of him tbh. I always just thought of him as like a slime ball or something.
8:52 Professor Knight is voiced by Alfred Molina(Doc Ock)
14:04 I like that ROR actually values good grades and it's not just fun and games for them.
33:08 - 33:22 had me laughing for a good 5 or 6 minutes. Holy crap, I could not breathe for most of that. 😂😂
No actually my stomach hurts 😂😂😂😂
Its literally revenge of the nerds but for monsters 😂
Art is my favorite
He had braces as a little monster and a retainer in college 😂....
i think this movie does a good job of becoming an adult and reconciling that childhood dreams may not always be possible for some. as much as i love space and wanted to be an astronaut I physically will NEVER be able to. i could be the most scholastically qualified but my body can not past the physical demands of being one. It will never happen. this is similar to how Mike is just not scary as a monster, it just wont happen. but it doesnt mean he still cant be within the career path hes always wanted.
I love the fact that the movie made its own Greek alphabet keeping just enough to be familiar (kappa and omega, for example) but then monster-ified letters like O for 'Ooze'ma, S for (h)iss, R for roar. Reminds me of how Sims 2 made all its Greek house letters old Simlish.
Helen Mirren's quiet but sharp tone makes Dean Hardscrabble that much more imposing in my opinion. It's sad that she doesn't get to play an antagonist character more often. The only other "evil" roles I can remember are the Tyto Queen from Legend of The Guardians Owls of Ga'Hoole, Morgan le Faye from Excalibur, and whatever role she plays in the new Shazam movie (I haven't seen it yet). Are there any more that anyone knows of?
Ooh I didn’t know she played Nyra
This movie is soooooo underrated.
It's along the same vein as Soul, when they remind you just because your life doesn't go the way you planned, doesn’t make everything you went through is worthless.
Soul was so good but man was it a emotional movie 🎥
Voices in One Room: Sean Hayes and Dave Foley recorded their lines together since they were collectively playing the two-headed character Terri and Terry.
I believe 19:45 is a reference to the movie The Princess Bride, which Mike's VA Billy Crystal was in. DEFINITELY watch Monsters at Work, it's good!
While I do prefer the original Monsters Inc, I still really enjoyed the prequel, especially as someone who is a college student. The main highlight for me was one of its messages, like the one where there’s always another option to your career if you don’t have the qualities to that specific one, but you’ll eventually find your calling. In this case, Mike, despite putting his heart and soul into everything, struggles with facing the reality that he’s not scary enough to be a scarer. After he and Sulley got expelled, they both worked their way back up to the top and found themselves successful positions at Monsters Incorporated.
Kind of reminds me of Little Miss Sunshine, when Dwayne was dead set on becoming a fighter pilot, only to discover he can't upon finding out he's colorblind.
Not “great grandma too! Even though she in a urn…shake her up like this” I absolutely lost it💀
Contrary to popular (or rather, UNPOPULAR) consensus out there, I actually thought this movie was fun and inspiring in some ways.
My favorite part was the big training montage for the Scare Games later on, specifically after Mike and Sully FINALLY start to work together
#Bingers Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda trilogy, please. Ta. 🧡
glad its back! I had to hop on real quick to watch this before it disappears again😅 I enjoy this one, not my fav pixar movie, but still a good one. "im not scared of a thug who does facials" got me 🤣🤣As always awesome reaction!
I slept on this as a kid but I saw both monster movies as an adult! They're very good! 🥰
Wasn't this movie awesome!? It was a hype-train from start to finish, with a MARKED increase in the graphics!
In case anyone didn’t know, the percussion that goes ham throughout the movie is actually from a top tier percussion from the professional marching band scene, aka Drum Corps, called Blue Devils. I highly recommend checking them out as they have had some REALLY great shows over the years.
Wait REALLY?!
@@TaliyahHarris1025 Yup! There’s even a nice interview/short with Scojo about what they do via Disney
That's really from the Blue Devils?! I watched one of their shows before; they're IMMACULATE.
@@catboybands It absolutely is them and yeah! I love the Blue Devils dude!
What I never understood about this movie was that Mike is scary af. If a lil green hairless one eyed alien dude snuck into my room at night to scare me at night I would be terrified.
Tbh I was more scared of the principal. Or centipede with wings?? I guess u could call it that. It also gave me goosebumps and "gross" factor. 😭😭🤢🤢
I love the college vibes for this movie. It brings back so much nostalgia from my first semester of college
This film is a brilliant prequel to monsters inc and Billy binges your channel is fire👍👍👍👍👍
I loved this prequel. Maybe more than the original? My kids like this one more. And I went to a school with a large percentage of kids people who went Greek (like 80% of the school). I never joined personally but since I had many friends that were, I still went to events and never had to attend meetings or pay dues so I think I won in the end
So you fixed it great. Love your movie commentary’s, Billy.
One ending they experimented with was after Mike's and Sulley's expulsion, Waternoose drives up in a limo, hearing about Mike's and Sulley's brief stint in the Human World, and offers them jobs. *The idea was unsurprisingly rejected as it would negate the whole theme of hard work.*
Nick Fury type of thing lol
Prefiero el final que nos dieron se trata más del mensaje de la película de que a veces no cumples tu sueños y esta bien
Yes I overpack lol!!!! I just don’t know what my mood will be so I need clothes for all occasions.
Went to Baylor! Stayed on campus freshman year and it was awesome!
I’ve had students try to call me by my first name but I think it makes them more uncomfortable than it annoys me 😂
