    There was originally going to be a scene at the beginning where the heroes held a funeral for Gazerbeam and the others killed by Syndrome in the first movie. It was unfortunately cut for time, but a rough animatic can be found online. I really wish they'd kept it in.

      There was also a scene showing Honey hiding Frozone's supersuit when the underminer shows up, but they cut it because they liked the mystery of not knowing what Honey looked like

      @jordanwolfson8378 right?! That would've been such a good scene to add. But nooo, we absolutely need a fight scene between Jack Jack and a raccoon. Sure it's a fun scene, but it doesn't feel necessary when they already had several scenes of Jack Jack showing off his powers and the family's reactions to it all.

      And the scene probably was also cut because who else would’ve attended the funeral? Winston and Evelyn. The film made it look like Evelyn didn’t know about Gazerbeam’s death or that it was Syndrome who caused his death. That knowledge of his death should’ve made her not go on that villainous path. Then again, would the knowledge change anything?

    There’s something I don’t think gets talk about enough. Every superhero had to go into hiding, but only one of them had to deal with the fact that he was basically responsible for superheroes being made illegal. It all started with Mr. Incredible saving one guy who didn’t want to be saved. So Bob not only misses the action but he probably feels guilty for putting all his friends out of work. Which also means he probably feels guilty for Gazerbeam and all the other heroes Syndrome killed.

    A small detail I love about these movies is that confidence and creativity are major factors in utilizing your powers to their fullest extent. They hinted at it with Violet failing to make a large enough force field in the first movie, but they also show it here with Voyd. When she's herself, she's clearly very nervous and insecure about proving herself in front of her hero, so she makes a lot of clumsy mistakes. But when she's being hypnotized by Evelyn, she uses her portal powers EXTREMELY competently and in ways we don't see once she's back to normal.

The injuries acquired are less than death so should be considered a net positive. Also the collateral damage argument? I argue that Bomb Voaiage caused more than Bob did. Sstdid underminer when digging up through that parking lot he destroyed the infrastructure and many peoples cars. All Bob really caused was a bit of damage to city hall and some damage to a couple of buildings that probably amounted to less than Underminer did simply digging under and through the city.

Similar to disabled people, if he was lucky he would have family essentially care for him. He would not be able to go to work or be in public. So his family would support him. Maybe he chose to be a stay at home type, cleaning and minding household stuff. Doing what he can for his family while he hid from the world.

You can't ask a guy who lives and breaths being a superhero to be happy when they are told they aren't the best option to bring back superheroes. Yes, Bob need to get over it but its a process. Bob feels more like the choice to move on was made for him (which it was by the government and having kids). Ok so I wanted to make this clear. I think her plan DOES make sense. Her brother’s efforts were to restore faith in supers to make them legal again, but she didn’t want that and needed people to completely lose faith in them regardless of their protection. If she sat back her brother would simply go ahead with his plan to reignite the trust in heroes and legalize them and had the resources to do so no issue. So she stepped in to sabotage the effort by gaining their trust to bring them out, and then moved to publicly humiliate them by terrifying the public with them when she had them under her control.
      Where I think she lacks is her backstory. What would’ve strengthened her motivation is if her father inspired by the cartoons of their youth went to fight the robbers himself. And her brother thinks similarly. If that were the case, she would have much more justifiable anger at the heroes impact on the public and give rise to her screenslaver persona which is anti screens and how the public believes everything they see on screen. She has clearly argued many times with her brother over this subject and her desperation to suppress his trust would check.
      Did it need a better explanation and need a BIT more elaboration? Yes. But VERY little about her needed to change.

    • @Marukanitel
      @Marukanitel 4 месяца назад +34

      Her brother is my only guess, or else she wouldn't have done this. He probably came up to her with the idea of making Heroes legal again and she would rather have them seen as villains and terrorists than anything else.
      So she manipulated his idea of having them seen as heroes, let him make them legal again, then mind control them and make them unredeemable therefore proving her point. It makes sense. They'd definitely never recover again.

    • @stigma7225
      @stigma7225 4 месяца назад +41

      I think it's because her brother would have made it happen even without her. Also, the reason supers were illegal was because they caused more problems, but if she shows them becoming not just a problem but a threat, that's worse for the heroes.

    • @emmanuelrojas8390
      @emmanuelrojas8390 4 месяца назад +6

      Yeah, I think it wouldve be better if the movie started with the public opinion of supers changing to the point of almost de-criminalicing it. That way her plan wouldve made more sence. Mask herself as part of an organization that wants that to happend, but also creating a villan (specially one that targets the common people) that would make it seem like a bad idea. The screenslaver wouldve work much better if it showcased more the fact that most of the time, just by existing, superheros justify the existence of supervillains.

    things i love about this movie are:
    there was a cut scene in the intro that would have depicted a memorial service for the heroes killed by syndrome in the first movie, focusing mostly on Gazerbeam. In it, it's revealed that Mr Incredible, along with Frozone, introduced Gazerbeam to the superhero life almost as their protige, and that bob came up with the name Gazerbeam himself. The scene was cut for time, but you can still find rough drafts of it on youtube and i highly recommend watching them.
    bob is refused the opportunity to bring heroes back because he was literally the person that caused supers to become illegal in the first place (on top of him bulldozing everything in his path)
    faced with the threat ofmind-controlled supers, frozone brings the incredibile, a cold computer that can't be fooled by mind control liek bob was, to rescue the kids.

    Y'all keep giving Bob crap for "being selfish" and not being happy about Helen getting the opportunity to do this, but, it's fully understandable because not only does he not get the chance to actually do what he wanted to do for years,but also has to deal with not only having to deal with having to take care of the kids, and having to deal with taking care of a kid who keeps getting new powers that can quite possibly unalive him and the others. He also has to deal with the fact that one if the people who keot telling to stop trying to be a hero for years gets the chance to be a hero in the public's eyes. Also, he's obviously trying to be better/good at supporting her despite how hard it is for him. Also, I have a theory that government secretly sey uo everything to make the supers stop being supers because if you think about it, it makes no sense that some random dude was able to even sue a super if they had the government backing them, let alone win a case against a super period. It also makes mo sense for others to be able to not only sue, but also win against the other supers besides Mr. Incredible.

I remember in elementary school on library day, the librarian would gather us around and turn off enough lights to make it dim in the room and picked students to say a random page number and she would read it to us

    I love how watching the robber on screen with the eye mask, and the subsequent fight with the raccoon because it had the matching eye mask, really sets up Jack Jack to be major against the glasses in any form. That poor raccoon caught a stray beating because he happened to watch a movie about a robber.

    Saw this movie in theaters and had the worst migraine after for hours because the flashing was SO MUCH WORSE.
    Glad they toned it down for the home release.

    Bob wasnt being selfish, imagine how it must feel to see someone you know live your dream, even if it is someone you love, you support them doing it but still, you wish so badly that it was you

    The reason it took so long is bc A. it's an animated movie, and it takes years to just animate all the models. B. the actors may have committed themselves to other projects, and until they were free of those obligations, they wouldn't be able to record the voice lines.

      Actually the main reason is that Pixar wanted to avoid doing sequels for the longest time but because of the success of Toy Story 3 they backtracked on that idea

    Violet's reaction to Tony being their waiter is what me and my friends call the "nose hose" reaction. It happens all the time to us when we tell each other jokes. Just one of many great scenes in a great movie

    Well I've heard this discussion before about how much better elastigirl is than Mr incredible he is all about the brute strength she is more about the finesse because she can't just go in there full bore she has to be a little bit more tactical which is why her approach is a lot softer touch than his is

    Bob doesn't suck. He's obviously down to support his wife but he feels the call of hero work. It what he's been wanting since the first movie and now after saving the city from Syndrome, he has to go back to the way things were.
