“If you guys like Barbara Gordon, we definitely need to watch The Killing Joke”, said no sane person ever. Seriously, stay far away from that movie.
This!! ^^
Stay VERY far away from that movie.
After watching that, they should read All-Star Batman and Robin
yall are crazy the only reason yall hate that movie is because of the first 1/3rd of the movie and completely ignore the rest of the movie which is pretty dam good
@@williamgreen1015 Nah, no it ain’t. It dulls down all the vibrant colour from the original, gets rid of all the background details and symbolism from small moments, that atrocious first third just makes it so much worse.
I love how Batman and Joker's rivalry is treated like a romance, and I love the arc Batman goes through, learning to move on from his past and let a new family into his life.
A good, if naive version on how a narcissistic ass can motivate themselves to care about others and find value in it. Biggest step, the biggest hurdle, is that they must want to first. Which sadly few ever realize...
They are def in love
Agreed. I’m absolutely in love with their dynamic in this movie😭
Just like Spot and Miles.
It’s always been subtly romantic
Fun Fact: Lego Catwoman is voiced by Zoe Kravitz, who went on to play Catwoman in The Batman
That's actually cool as hell.
Meow meow meow!
They also got Billy Dee Williams to play Two-Face, who played Harvey Dent in the Tim Burton Batman
Oh dang. I wasn't a big fan of her in that movie, but that's still pretty cool.
🤯
"Does everyone just get sick of Joker's shit?"
Yes. Literally everyone in Gotham hates him. Most of the other villains despise him. Everyone in Arkham hates him. Every time he's left Gotham to fuck with another hero in their city, they LOL nope him, kick his ass, and send him back to Gotham. The only reason DC has not killed him off is because he is Batman's greatest villain.
Bruce is the only one who likes the Joker. Even Harley got over that pile of human refuse.
@@rafaelmarkos4489 Punchline likes him now
@@maddoxio You do realise that the standards of your example are a few miles below sea level, right?
@@rafaelmarkos4489 ...and? She's his new sidekick and she's head over heels for him?
Unironically, this is one of the greatest Batman films, and I love how much of a love letter this movie is to the legacy of Batman as a character and how he's affected so many others. Will Arnett is INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED as Lego Batman.
Funny that they got Ralph Fiennes to play Alfred, but not one of his most well-known roles, Voldemort. 💜
WHAT I hear it now WHAT
@Coolkrobird Yeah lol. I didn't know it was him until after I saw it in theaters.
They knew that if Fiennes voiced Voldemort, they were going to have to include a moment where Alfred and Voldemort acknowledged having the same voice. But they couldn't work it in so they didn't.
@@SobiTheRobot that stinks I knew Voldemort sounded strange
Apparently it’s due to Voldemort being added later in development and at that point Ralph wasn’t available to record lines for that character anymore.
"They 9/11'd Sauron" is a sentence I NEVER thought I'd hear 🤣
It’s still amazes me how of all the film adaptations of Batman, it’s the Lego version that is considered one of the greatest, and for damn good reasons.
“ if you like Barbara Gordon we definitely need to watch Killing Joke”
😐
Please god no
Yeah, we don't talk about that movie. EVER.
Yeah I felt sad when it heard that.
Sucks when good comics get bad adaptations. Sucks when ppl who don’t know about it watch it as well.
Oh god….
@@ma.2089 I wouldn't even say Killing Joke is a good comic, it still had some disturbing torture porn and sexual abuse imagery with Barbara for the sake of shock value and nothing more.
The whole thing with Barbara was Bruce Timm's doing, who also made BTAS, and he did the same thing in that universe between then and Batman Beyond.
"children can be cruel" is probably one of my top 10 movie jokes of all time.
Indeed! Richard ´Dick´Grayson is the one in Teen Titans :) that's why we sometimes see flashes from his past, like his parents dying in the circus or when the Bat oath happened. Bruce witnessed Richard's parents' death and I believe he took him in because he understood his pain
I just realized that they played "wake me up before you go" which was sung by George Michael.
Robin is played by Michael Cera, who played George Michael in Arrested Development
Also, Scott Pilgrim
@@lancestryker True, but it was more because Cera played a role called George Michael, and they play a song by George Michael
12:45 the first time I saw this movie was with middle school friends for birthday party, I think during the eighth grade, and I have a vague memory of someone almost choking on their popcorn at that line 😂
I bursted out in the theaters
This is how you do a funny Batman. The LEGO brand lends itself to humor and parody wonderfully.
I realized it’s ironic that he becomes nightwing in this movie to follow in Batman’s steps when the point of nightwing in the comics and media was to divert from batman
The fact that Billy Dee Williams was finally able to play Two-Face after being bought out of his contract.
Yeah it’s great to finally have him do Two-Face
This is definitely one of my favorite Batman movies ever, and definitely my favorite Lego movie!
The way i screamed "YES" when i saw the thumbnail 😂
Yes Dick Grayson is the original leader of the teen titans
And since Voldemort is in this, the voice for Alfred is Ralph fiennes who plays Voldemort 😂
34:35 😂😂 just letting you know, Batman said that earlier in the movie when he was going back to the Batcave. You probably didn’t hear because you were looking at all the Lego Batman games.
33:15 the Joker and Batmans relationship is just great 😂👏
I love that this movie starts with Batman Vs Every Batman Villain and ends with Batman Vs Every Villain From Every Movie Ever.
The pokemon music cue for the question of pre-watching was such an amazing jolt of nostalgia. I loved it.
“Who Never Skips Leg Day, BATMAN WHO PAYS THEIR TAXS, NOT BATMAN
You're right Boom, Dick Grayson is the Robin from Teen Titans. 💜
Dick Grayson aka Robin/Nightwing is my favorite haha
his family were The Flying Grayson’s and were murdered during a performance. Bruce and Alfred were at the circus the night it happened and Bruce adopted him. He is the Robin in Teen Titans and in most of the things you’ll watch, and if not then he’s featured as Nightwing. He is the first Robin™️
love the channel and super exciting to see you guys reacting to more DC!
p.s the Batman works alone has always been funny considering Robin was introduced in 1940, just one year after Batman was. he’s legendary for being one of the first legacy characters to grow and evolve into his complete own
Yeah Batman works alone is mainly a movie thing. Either that or stories that usually take place in the "past" of the current canon when no Robins existed uet.
Now all thats left is ninjago
And the second Lego movie
Dang it you beat me to mentioning it,
They should watch the show first
Yeah we can skip that one and go straight to Lego Movie 2.
@@MatthewTeachout-xj4yywhy, the people who made the Ninjago movie clearly didn't...
the shark repellent is a gadget use in the movie Batman from 1966, the funny thing about that version of batman is that he always had some gadget to deal with the problem at hand, shark repellent is one of those gadgets.
13:47 No No No
Not the Killing Joke
Literally anything but that movie
Please
Notice the deadpan look at the camera afterwards
Every DC villain? Oooooh, nonononono. You've seen every BATMAN villain. There is loooooooads more for Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern and so many more.
9:20 there is an entire set of levels that revolve around this movie in lego dimensions, as long as you buy the real world expansion pass
8:59 There isn’t an individual game for this movie but there is a Lego game called Lego Dimensions that features a world of this Lego universe in it
Imagine recommending this over the lego Batman games 1 was goated and 2 even surpassed that x 50 we don’t talk about lego Batman 3 but lego Batman 2 is what lego marvels avengers wished it could be it’s what every lego game strived to be after and nothing ever hit the same again
@@liladonn5646 I have and played all 3 Lego Batman games but they don’t revolve around this movie’s universe specifically.
If you guys like the humor in this, I strongly recommend watching the parody stage musical "Holy Musical Batman!" A whole bunch of the jokes in this and the general theme of Batman opening himself up again are straight from that show.
15 seconds after release holy fuck
Abt the robins
There's four main robins
The first one is Dick Grayson of teen titans and the one who's gonna be Nightwing later
Second if Jason Todd who's gonna be come the red hood
Tge third one is Tim drake who's gonna become red Robin
And the fourth who's Bruce bio son Damian Wayne
Big facts incoming: Billy Dee Williams of Star Wars fan, also did Harvey Dent for the 1989 Tim Burton Batman film. He was cast to play Two-face in the 3 movie, but Burton was removed as director, and the Williams role was re-cast to Tommy Lee Jones.
Two-face in this movie is voiced by Billy Dee Williams, finally giving him the role he was always supposed to play 20 years later.
Probably my favorite Batman movie and definitely my favorite Lego movie (which - for the latter - says a lot given A, how good the story and dialogue are, and B, I was a longtime Ninjago fan and I know how just okay that movie was).
I feel like movies like this are great examples of how if you make something that the fan base of a franchise loves your going to succeed compared to if you try to make something appeal specifically to people that are not fans of a franchise in hopes that they become fans so you can make more money you’re going to probably piss off the actual fans and make the non fans think the franchise sucks
"Hes not part of a team. Batman works alone."
*Looks at the entire batfam, which at some.ooint was so big the government had a genuine concern that he was just building a personal army *
In regards to other action hero related stories there’s Young Justice, Kim Possible, and Xiolin Showdown which you guys might find fun.
There’s also shows like Infinity Train that’s more mystery and sci fi than superhero.
Xiolin Showdown is so underrated....
The big green lizard wasn’t Godzilla but the Kraken from the og Clash of the Titans
Best Batman movie by far
9:20 interestingly, Lego Dimensions had a story pack for this movie
I hope you guys consider some of the different batman animated/justice league tv shows down the road
In reference to Batman, you know what y'all would love? Gotham by Gaslight.
well i wasnt expecting this
9:23
About the Lego game, they made a game called Lego Dimensions, which is a toys to life game like Skylanders but it had a bunch of different characters from other Lego games, movies, and shows, and they had a level pack for The Lego Batman movie. They also have a bunch of other properties like, Sonic, Dr.Who, Scooby-Doo, Back to the future and more.
2:23 no, the plan was not to kill him. He didn’t have a parachute, the robots put the parachute on him before they threw him.
That’s what I’m thinking
Waitin' for LEGO Ninjago (series), it's kinda long
I love The Lego Batman Movie so much! It's full of references from nearly all the batman movies. Plus the tv shows and comic books as well.
My personal favorite villain cameos were the Gremlins. (Which y'all should definitely watch on the channel sometime if ya haven't seen it in a while!) 💚 💜
King Tut was Adam West Batman series original. A good hearted archeologist with a dark split personality of an Egyptian pharaoh themed villein; any blow to the head causes the personality to swap.
If you want more unhinged Batman content, you should watch ‘Holy Musical B@man!’, it’s a great Batman parody made with love
3:38 Yes all those villains are actual Batman villains, there are a lot of lesser known and forgotten Batman villains.
Over the years Batman has amassed these villains via comics, cartoons, live action tv series, games, and has even taken villains from other heroes rouges gallery’s, and transplanted them to his own.
What LEGO games to play:
All of the above! 💜
For the Lego game, there kind of is and kind of isn't a game for this movie.
Aroudn this time, LEGO got into the toys-to-life fad and released LEGO Dimensions, a big crossover with a lot of franchises (mostly Warner Bros., but there were plenty others).
Some franchises like Goonies, Back to the Future, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Adventure Time got a focus level with their character. Three movies releaswd at the time got story packs that adapted the movies into six levels.
These were Ghostbusters 2016 (aka Ghostbusters: Answer the Call), Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The LEGO Batman movie.
So, the movie kind of has a game adaptation.
Please dont watch Killing Joke. We can't stop you if you do anyway, but dont say we didn't warn you.
9:24 There’s a game, but it’s not under the Batman tittle specifically.
It’s apart of the LEGO toy to life game LEGO Dimensions (of which you already have an Adventure Time pack for). The LEGO Batman movie portion for that game can only be played when you have the LEGO Batman movie story pack set. Of course you’d also need the LEGO Dimensions starter pack set as well.
17:05 common origin is dick parents are acrobats and Bruce is a friend to them for years. So when they died in a show accident, which later reveal it was set up, Bruce took dick in to watch him for a bit and find a family to raise him. Dick found out about Bruce beinf barman, wants Justice for his parents, Bruce for moment will help in but once they capture the killer that’s it. In time dick shows he is committed to stopping crime, Bruce have a student but in a way a son fo raise, and he have someone to watch his back when facing criminals especially when super mercs/villains started appearing in Gotham.
FUN FACT: At 2:22 you can see them put a parachute on the pilot before sending them out the back of the plane.
I love how this movie feel like someone make a Lego movie out of HISHE Super Cafe
31:35 😂😂😂 this is so Teen Titans Go! coded i just cant unsee it xD specially Robin
My first time watching this movie. I've seen some clips though.
6:47: THE MEME! Didn't think this would be in the beginning of the movie! XD
"Accio" is the Harry Potter spell used to summon things, so Voldemort basically went "Summon lightning storm", which is absolutely not implied to be how it works in the original. Though, its never said that it couldn't work, so fair enough lol
2:22- It looks like one of them secretly applied the parachute.
10:28 you could say he’s “bat-ship” crazy
Quick info on Dick Grayson(a.k.a The Robin that becomes Nightwing).
His parents were killed in front of him like Batman. He and his parents were the Flying Graysons, performers at a cricus.
Batman adopted him, then because he saw Dick was going to become just like him(Batman) he instead helped bring the killers to justice. So that Robin wouldn't grow up like Bruce did with pure hatred.
Thats why when he became Nightwing, Batman was proud of his son. Who became what batman should have been
9:21 there is a specific part of LEGO Dimensions game that centers around LEGO Batman Movie. But not a full fledged game like the others listed.
One of my favourite movies of all time and arguably the best Batman movie.
@22:00 the tin whistle Harry Potter theme for the Lord of the Rings killed me
this is going to be so good
Yupp! Lego Batman does take place in the same world as The Lego Movies 1 and 2 (taking place in between them chronologically)
If you noticed, during the scene where they explain on TV what will happen if Joker's bombs break the city in half they mention the infinite abyss from the first Lego Movie while also showing a short clip of Emmet falling into it while he was tied to the battery ^^
Dick Grayson had his parents murdered during there trapeze number and Batman adopted him, inevitably training him in the ways of loose justice
There unfortunately isn't a LEGO Batman Movie game, but there is a bit of a story mode level (Idk the word lol) of it within the LEGO Dimensions game, I think.
9:08 Ok so it's kinda complicated but when this movie came out lego did a special game called lego dimensions. It was a toys to life game where you buy physical lego expansion packs to use in the game. It had dozens of franchises all interacting with each other Ghostbusters, Back to the future, Adventure time, Sonic, and in this case the Lego Batman movie. It was basically warnerbrothers and lego's disney infinity or Skylanders
It's funny, I watching this at work, and I get informed that there was a bat on the ceiling.
Lego batman is a crucial moment for any growing lego fan.
Underrated great show is "Gotham" which is on Prime or netflix depending on where you are
Yeah I love Gotham!
There is a Lego Batman Movie Game as a story pack for LEGO Dimensions.
Not sure if you guys are into musicals, but on RUclips you can watch Starkid's "Holy Musical Batman". It makes several references to the movies, the 66 series, and the comics.
LEGOOOO BILLYYYY!
Holy Musical B@tman! is a StarKid musical that’s free on RUclips, and the vibes are VERY similar to Lego Batman. It’s incredible.
Oh hell yeeeee
I love this movie
And now you guys are reacting to it it's just😍😍
You do *not* want to watch The Killing Joke.
7:23
Sometimes foreshadowing is relatively obvious.
I love Lego Dimensions, because Lego Movie Batman and regular Lego Batman get into a fight over who's the better Batman
Boom with "The Killing Joke" side-eye, jesus man hahaha
Would love to see you guys react to that one!!
I need Boom to see that Superman Starman video and goes full Danny Devito "I get it..." with tears in his eyes
omg yes i would love for your guys to see the godzilla movies! because even though they start a bit...slow...they just get better and better and better! monsterverse, heisei, showa...they're all classics
I love the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl jingle for the pre-watch closeups. Super nostalgic
Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu, has ninja, nindroids, dragon, and elemental powers. You guys need to watch it. (Yes it does have a video game about it.) edit: it also has a movie but it has a different story.
Big FYI: DON'T watch "The Killing Joke." It's a very grim comic that doesn't entirely hold up, and the movie added added creepy nonsense to it for no reason.
Normally Barbara has the same status to Batman as Robin and there was one animated movie when they both slept together and yeah...I don't think there was anyone who thought it wasn't creepy af
You guys would love Robert Patterson m’s “The Batman” and “Batman the dark knight” they are top notch Batman movies
Should watch the DC animated movies that start with flashpoint
this movie owns a special place in my heart
my family and i arent into batman very much. but after we watched the lego movie together we ALL went to the cinema to see this movie
and thats wild for me cus thats the first time my entire family went to the cinema together, my parents hate going to the cinema, but they were excited to see this! it was so awesome
Lego dimensions has an expansion pack based on this movie
ever since the lego movie ive been WAITING for this!!!
Lego batman is my favourite lego movie ❤
If you guys really are up for reacting to more Lego stuff, I heavily recommend Lego Monkie Kid, it's a 2D animated Lego show based on a Chinese story/myth called Journey to the West and it is GOOD
