  • Today I take a look at the JVM 410H 100 Watt head. I play through every channel and mode to find the best tone this amp has to offer. I came across some pretty good plexi-sounds which I of course have to try with a Tube Screamer!
Music in this video is from my band called "Broken Vice"
    open.spotify.c...
    Signal Chain:
    American Strat (Original pickups)
    (Tube Screamer)

    Two notes Torpedo Captor
    Avalon M5
    1176 Compressor
    Apogee Rosetta

Most of the most famous plexi players did NOT use a tubescreamer…!!!
Players who did not use a tubescreamer with their plexi
    -Angus young
    -Jimi Hendrix
-Eddie Van Halen ( though Eddie did use a graphic EQ but I don’t know if he added mids and cut bass with it )
-Eric Johnson ( he did have a TS9 for a couple years about ten years ago )
    - think of all the players before 1980 when the tube screamer came out that did NOT have a tube screamer
It was mostly the jCM 800 users that used a tube screamer.. to get more gain
You can do what a tube screamer does with a bunch of different pedal and or EQ’s
A tube screamer cuts bass and adds mids
So it can solve the woofiness a 4x12 cabinet can create , the mid hump can too much so that’s where an EQ can be helpful..
fender amps tend to be mid scooped and too bassy , hence SRV famously using one or two

I have the 210h and what I find is that the jvm is a Swiss Army knife of amps. I think it’s unfair when people compare it to other Marshall amps and say it sucks because it doesn’t sound like an 800 or it doesn’t sound like a plexi; it’s definitely an amp that does it’s own thing and I always smile when I get a new tone to add to the toolbox. I wouldn’t get rid of mine simply because it’s too useful

@@ccandrew111 A lot of people don't get that in order to get the best plexi/800/jubilee tones, you'll/the'll have to get those specific amps. This is more of a swiss army knife kind of amp.
