  • On our way back to Texas for the holidays, we spent the weekend in Southern New Mexico exploring White Sands National Monument, Las Cruces, and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We had a blast playing in the sand dunes, drinking coffee and eating food, and wandering through the CRAZY caverns!

@@AdventuresofAplusK I live on the south side of Las Cruces, between the NMSU Campus and "A" Mountain (Tortugas Mountain). If you're ever back in the area there are some great hiking areas behind "A" Mountain in the Organ Mountains and NMSU has a beautiful campus to explore. Both are best in early Spring before the summer heat hits and there's still a cool breeze.
Don't get me started on the great Mexican food. Check out La Posta(a classic), Andale's(that salsa bar!), and Si Senor(best margaritas and michelada's).
Edit P.S. Great tip for White Sands. Put your phones/electronics/wallets in sealed cases or even plastic baggies if you're gonna have them on you. The sand gets into Everything, can scratch screens/delicate surfaces, and do a number on the ports of your devices. On the Plus side, walking barefoot is a great way to exfoliate your feet. Come out soft and smooth. lol

I used to drive thru Las Cruces on road trips from home in Las Vegas NV (25 years). I loved the view coming down I-10 - the postcard shot - every time I came thru. So much that I moved here 15 years ago and love it still. Dark skies, coyotes singing at nite, different beauty with every short road trip.

I live in Las Cruces, and gone to White Sands on multiple occasions. I prefer going there a couple of hours before sunsets which makes the environment so surreal as if you’re in another planet. The site is so quiet and majestic, it’s quite an enchanting place. I would recommend people visiting White Sands around that time.

I'm an old guy, 73, and I usually end up making fun of a lot of people's stupid videos because they so often try to be super cute and overly perky, and they so often get most of the facts wrong about the places they visit. Wow! Your video is so refreshing. I love caves, and once worked at White Sands National Monument, so I know you got the facts right about both places. My Carlsbad experience was of chaperoning 50 kids on a caving adventure following a camporee in Colorado in 1985. Even easier way to remember the stalagmites and stalactites is, "When the mites go up, the tites (tights) come down." You know, the mites that crawl up into your tights. OK, nuff sed. Next time in Las Cruces be sure to visit the tiny historic "Mexican" town of La Mesilla where Billie the Kid was captured. A candy shop there sells habanero fudge!!!

Hi Yasmin! She stays in our van, which stays a lot cooler than a car since it’s insulated and we have window covers and a fan. We don’t leave her in there if it’s too warm though, we will rent an Airbnb if we plan to be somewhere warm and cannot take her all around with us.

Kudos to you for crafting such an exceptional video! 🎥🌟 The way you presented the information was captivating and engaging. It's no wonder that Las Cruces is attracting so many incredible people from all walks of life. The city is evolving into a vibrant melting pot of cultures and ideas, and it's a joy to witness. As if that weren't enough, the homes being built in Metro Verde and Sonoma Ranch are the epitome of elegance and luxury. It's a testament to the exciting future that awaits those lucky enough to call Las Cruces home.

We're a full-time traveling family, in an RV (with two small kids) and are presently in Phoenix (for another week). I was able to get the entire month of March off from work, so we started doing some research and creating a Phoenix to Tampa bucket list.
That's when I discovered this video... Great information, GREAT value with added tidbits about your location and great editing (we really have to UP our vlog game)... I think what I'm trying to say, is that it's "Great"?!?!.
All kidding aside, I've now subscribed and added you to Insta and look forward to checking out your other videos.
NM, Texas, Louisiana are going to be our main focuses during this trip...
    Cheers,

Any tips appreciated but I imagine I'll find some great ones going through your vids! Definitely buying an Annual pass per your recommendation. Peace!

Almost every place here in Cruces has free chips and salsa. When you come through LC again, you should try Andele dog house, it has a salsa bar with 4 different salsas and pico de gallo. It is near the Plaza in Mesilla. I would recommend the green chili chicken enchiladas, they are some of the best in town. The tacos are also a great option if you are wanting to split.
