I've been there 6yrs ago. Can't forget the impression. No picture, no video can show the reality of the caverns. Thank you for remindimg me the memory. 수지 Korea
I went there June 3rd 2023 for my father's birthday which was June 5th. I LUV THAT PLACE!! It is also the only cavern I've been to. My trip was my 3 hour and 2 min drive to New Mexico with my dad, sisters, grandma, and my dad's friend who had to drive because my dad had a detached retina. We left to New Mexico around 8:00AM. We got in New Mexico at 11:0AM in mountain time, and 10:00 central time. We got into the cave around 11:30AM mountain time. We were only down in the cave for about 1: hour, before taking the elevator back up to eat at the restaurant before going back down into the cave for the tour of the Big Cave, after that we found out there was no longer a little cave so we left. I will never forget that day. Btw that day was my second time going to Carlsbad Caverns. The first time I went was 6 years ago from 2023. Aka in 2017.
Of the three Carlsbad videos I watched, yours was easily the best. Thanks for being so thorough, I’m going there this fall for the first time and now I feel truly prepared.
It's been over 25 years but me and the family used to go to Carlsbad every year on the 4th of July because my grandma lived there been to The carlsbad caverns can't even count how many times as a kid very cool! Brought back some good memories and their firework shows are the best by far!
We just did the cave several weeks ago and the highlight was when all the bats flew out, it was so awesome ,and you’re right that is in my top 3 National parks😊
Everyone should view this video before visiting Carlsbad Caverns and definitely me included! I was a miserable failure at capturing the beautiful structures but after watching this video I will be better prepared and I will stay an extra day instead of overnight. Thank you Pablo!
I'll be in the area the end of Feb. 2022 and hope to go to Carlsbad Caverns. Today I'm 65, and the last time I was there I was about 7 yrs old. There was a large cafeteria down in the caverns, and tons of people. Can't wait to see it again! This was a great video!!
I've been there twice now. The first time I just took the elevator. The second time I went down the long way. And I can never express enough how cold it gets down there. I live in New Mexico and currently it's still around 85 degrees while cloudy and raining. It goes down to like 40 in the cave. Which is very refreshing.
Carlsbad Canyon was an amazing exploration. It is so spectacularly magnificent. At one point, It was overwhelming, like you said, in a good way, but my brain couldn’t take in the beautiful, visual assault anymore. I had to sit on a bench to give my brain a moment to catch up with the visuals. My mind was blown at every turn. Thanks for posting this vid. It was nice to revisit the cavern through your video.
Hello from the rainforests of western Oregon! I'm adding a bunch of the locations from your videos to my must-see list next time I'm headed out to the desert. Just subscribed!
While the cave is obviously the main attraction, the outside of the national park is a great Chihuahuan desert landscape, and encompasses about half of the Guadalupe Mountain Range. The Texas side and Guadalupe Mountains National Park focuses more on that, but Carlsbad has some pretty cool desert scenic drives and hikes too.
I spent one day exploring this wonder. It is one of the most spectacular places I have been, really impressive and no photos or videos can show how amazing it is. I took the elevator to go down to the Big Room and went out climbing the same path you went down and that was hard.Thank you for the cool video as always your work is interesting and captivating, thanks for sharing.
I went in there as a little girl with my Mom (my dad wouldn't go into caves after serving on a diesel sub in WW2) and she and I thought it looked like a fairy castle. I couldn't see it without imagining all the wonderful fairies and elves and dwarfs that I just knew lived there. I bought Viewmaster disks that I still have to this day.
Another feeling like I’m there with you video! Love Carlsbad Caverns. First visited in 1968 when I was 12. Somehow was disappointed. Visited again in Oct. 2018 and was blown away this time! Took a guided tour but did not do the natural entrance this time. There is SOoooo much to see. We miscalculated our time to explore the Big Room after the afternoon tour and didn’t realize they begin closing off sections of the cave early to work people toward the elevator. Next time I want to take the candle lantern tour and allow all day to explore. There are restrooms and a lunchroom in the cave. Sadly I have had a moratorium on cave visits since the pandemic began and have passed up visiting several and am going through withdrawal. Am getting 2nd vaccination this week🤞🏻🤞🏻. Keep the great videos coming.
I proudly live in Carlsbad and enjoy having visitors here to experience the Caverns. We have lots of other amazing places around us as well. Sitting Bull falls, Black River, El Capitan (highest point in Texas) just on the border of Carlsbad and Texas. Anyways please comeback and visit us again
I just went there, but it's cool to see your perspective on it. You're correct, pictures or videos do not show the MASSIVE scope of the caves. It's just amazing being there and trying to comprehend how huge it all is, and how ancient. Great video, thanks for making it.
What’s really cool about carlsbad is that there’s always something new to see when you go down there. I just visited it yesterday and literally everywhere you look, you’ll see something that catches your eye and that can distract you from the thousands of other small details that are equally as good. Really nifty stuff.
WHAT!!!! I live here.. It was so weird to SEE this video. Seriously... If you have the chance... GO through these CAVES. I have been through I think 20 times since 1964... BUT... What is so weird... Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Thank you for taking the time to create your wonderful videos. Fyi those are not bats, but Cave Swallows (Petrochelidon fulva) swooping and chattering about as you descend the main entrance. The bats have all returned by this time.
You guys are great! I really enjoy your "Tours!" It's the closest I'll get to actually going to these places and the commentary you give is quite informative. I also love seeing a father & son who really get along and enjoy each other's company. Thank you!
I finally went one day by myself after living in Carlsbad for a couple years. Everyone said they'd take me. After realizing false promises I went by myself. I truly appreciate this video. You did proper justice as best as possible. Man. I need to go again. Looks like things are looking good
I've been through the caverns three times in my life. First on a family vacation with my parents, the second on a high school trip from Texas and the third with my own kids. Each time the caverns amazed me. You have to actually go through the caverns to see and feel the grandeur. Nothing else will do.
Hey friend!! I live 2.5 hours away from Carlsbad Caverns and have been to the caverns several times over my life span. This time, because I have Parkinson's, I brought my walking cane. I'm glad I didn't leave it behind because I don't think I would have made it without it. This walk down into the cave is very strenuous and when the Park Ranger tells you to take your time, one had better listen. I do alright walking on a flat surface and can trek up to 2.5 miles at a time, but with Parkinson's it was a big effort for me and even though I had been walking 2-4 times a week apx 3 miles a week, this journey through the caverns was a feat!! It's strenuous and downhill. Your toes and feet are working hard to grip the floor so you don't go sailing down into the pit. It's a lengthy walk over 2 miles I believe and once you get to the bottom, in order to see the rest of the cave it's over another mile of walking. I took a back pack with bottled water which came in handy because of the moisture in the cave, with all of the walking and the humidity, I got dehydrated one time. No one should go through that. Be aware it would take great effort for emergency services to arrive if you couldn't make it out due to health reasons. This is not a carnival ride, this is serious business. If you're not accustomed to going to the gym or walking regularly, get in shape before you go. Bring a sweater if you get cold easily, the deeper you go, the colder it gets. Also make sure you go to the bathroom when you're on ground level because it's going to be about 2 hours before you can reach another toilet area. Also, there is a restaurant above ground that serves hamburgers, hot dogs and simple Tex-Mex food; nachos, tacos, at the bottom of the cave is a lightly stored snack shop. I visited a few weeks ago and they offered some sandwiches, chips, muffins, water and colas. This is nice, but it costs big bucks to eat snack foods. Be prepared
I was there 66 years ago when I was 10. I only remember that it was "really pretty", cold and ice was not only hanging from the ceiling but coming up from the ground and I didn't understand it. lol Thank you for showing me what I obviously have forgotten!!! That is just breathtaking.
I was there in 2013 with my dear friend and I remember not this part but taking the elevator down and walking a about half way and back to the elevator. But what was interesting was the oxygen was somehow different for me.
I went there in 1991 and there wasn't a walk way there was an elevator and it's super cold down there. You have shorts on and a breezy shirt from the sun in New Mexico but when you get down there you can buy some long sleeve shirts and sweet pants which when your warmer it's so beautiful all the crystal and ice sickles that have been there for a thousand years. It's very beautiful.
This is one of the most amazing and most magical places I have ever been to . No words , videos or pictures can describe the enchanted beauty of such a majestic place . On top of that , the people from New Mexico are super nice 🥰
I was there in 2019. I have been through a number of caves, but Carlsbad is the best. One of the biggest thrills though is to wait until sunset, and watch the bats by the thousands exit the cave.
I spent 12 hours in the caves one day taking pictures… so beautiful, so relaxing… Made me want to live in that cave! I didn’t do the natural entrance, took the elevator, but went everywhere I could!
FYI, the flying animals at the entrance at the beginning of the video are NOT bats, they are swallows... the bats would not come out until close to sunset and they won't come out if there's too much noise or movement (we were just there this week and were able to see them fly out - they don't make that noise, you only hear their wings flapping, and there are tens of thousands exiting the cave)
Other caves I've been in were either hot and muggy or really wet. Carlsbad Caverns is cool and dry and much more friendly than anywhere else I've been. Definitely go.
I want to hike with you bro if I ever visited the US. Even though Cali is the place I’m most interested in visiting, it’s nice to see you showing us the rest of the US too. Hi from Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪
Thanks so much for the message. The USA does really have a lot of cool spots to explore. I am just getting outside of California myself as I have spent most of the last 5 years exploring the state haha
Loved watching this. Still one of my top 5 national parks in the US. Maybe top 3?!! Every American should experience this in person; when I made my video I realised it was going to be impossible to give an accurate sense of scale with a camera. Truly incredible life experience!
When I was a kid my family came here and we saw all of these areas. Back then there was a large room in the cave where you could eat lunch with all the other people, but that was 60 years ago. That was my only trip to this beautiful cave, where does the time go?
Love how informative your videos are. We hope to do a US Road trip in the future and it’s so helpful to know details and see what’s there. Love the bats!
I love your New Mexico vids. Hubby and I plan to make the trip exploring New Mexico summer of 2024. I’m using your vids as a guide. I’ve been following you and your dad for quite some time. What camera set up do you use? I have a gopro hero 7 black, Sony A7 iv w/16-35 4.0 and 24-105 4.0. I’m thinking that will be sufficient. Is there anything else I need to consider regarding this trip?
I’m so glad you shared this. My wife and I who are from east Texas will be going here next week on vacation and we’re really excited. Can’t wait to get out of this nasty humidity for a few days. The dry air will be refreshing! I love the North American desert. Wished I could live there actually.
Awesome caves! Thanks for sharing this. Just discovered your channel and now I'm hooked! Running through a bunch of videos I saved to my Watch Later list now, when I should be sleeping haha.
WOW, that certainly is impressive. What a lovely presentation you gave us. That's an amazing place. Thanks so very much for taking us along... elevators 👏
Love the videos man! Just a heads-up though, those guys at the beginning are cave swallows, not bats. The National Park Service refers to them as the "Day Shift" since them and the bats basically take turns as stewards of the ecosystem there. Fun fact: as opposed to the bats that migrate South during the winter, the swallows live there year-round. Been going there twice a year since I was a kid, it's a beautiful place, glad you enjoyed it!
Just got back from here and Grand Canyon area for our 36th anniversary last week. Now I'm bummed, we took the elevator and miss the bat entrance plus those formation and caves after it. Oh well, will be going back next time with the grandchildren.
I took my fiance to her first cave in austin at the batural bridge caverns. She said she has always been scared of caves because of how claustrophobic she is. After seeing austins and how big they can be as well she wants to do another. Ive been to carlsbad but it has been 20 years. We were discussing with carlsbad or mammoth but because of your videos i think we are settling on carlsbad. I still remember how fascinating it was from 20 years ago and would do it again to see her experience it as well. That smoke you were pointing out i believe is steam from the bat poo!
Hey man - nice video. But those aren't bats flying around at the entrance; they are cave swallows. (Btw, you pass a big sign that describes them in the vid.)
I've been there 6yrs ago. Can't forget the impression. No picture, no video can show the reality of the caverns. Thank you for remindimg me the memory. 수지 Korea
I am glad you got to visit! I agree, no pictures can do it justice.
Was there as a kid. Close to 50 years ago. No comparison. Still looking the same after all that. Want to go back someday
Jesus Loves you and He is The Way to Eternal Life in Heaven. ❤️
I went there for my first experience 6 years ago, than I went a second time June 3rd 2023
Don't view bats from viewing area unless you like getting cropped on.😂😂🎉
Thank you so much for including wheelchair access information.
I will always remember this place. Been over 50 years. Thanks for the re-experience.
I went there June 3rd 2023 for my father's birthday which was June 5th. I LUV THAT PLACE!! It is also the only cavern I've been to. 1970!
We just did the cave several weeks ago and the highlight was when all the bats flew out, it was so awesome ,and you’re right that is in my top 3 National parks😊
Living vicariously through your nice videos. Thank you! Thank you as well for commenting on wheelchair accessibility.

I went back in December and it’s something I will never forget. It was so incredible. And your right, pictures will never do it justice.
I was born and raised in carlsbad it's good to see people appreciate the caverns as much as possible. ❤
I've been there twice now. The first time I just took the elevator. The second time I went down the long way. And I can never express enough how cold it gets down there. I've been to so many caves but Carlsbad still remains on the list as #1. This just makes me want to go even more! 😅
Just went last weekend. Absolutely incredible. Ceiling is hundreds of feet high
I actually want to go back as a grown person. Was a child the only time my elders went. Was in the 70's
Hello from the rainforests of western Oregon! I'm adding a bunch of the locations from your videos to my must-see list next time I'm headed out to the desert. Just subscribed!
I went here as a child and have only spotty memories. Thanks for helping bring back some of these memories!

The Texas side and Guadalupe Mountains National Park focuses more on that, but Carlsbad has some pretty cool desert scenic drives and hikes too.
Josh, we all like your very lively narrations. Keep up the good work!!
These caverns & Mammoth Caves in KT and truly awesome and a must stop for anyone who digs these kinds of stops

Thanks for sharing this video. This is a park/cave we have not yet been to, but you have convinced me. Adding it to our list.
We visited this wonderful park and woke up early to witness the bats return to the cave …
Incredible, memorable experience
I proudly live in Carlsbad and enjoy having visitors here to experience the Caverns. We have lots of other amazing places around us as well. Sitting Bull falls, Black River, El Capitan (highest point in Texas) just on the border of Carlsbad and Texas. Anyways please comeback and visit us again
I live in Carlsbad too.... Go Cavemen!
Will be heading to Texas this summer to visit my daughter and grandson. Think I'm going to visit on the way here or back.
I just went there, but it's cool to see your perspective on it. You're correct, pictures or videos do not show the MASSIVE scope of the caves. It's just amazing being there and trying to comprehend how huge it all is, and how ancient. Great video, thanks for making it.
Thanks again Josh. I added this in my bucket list, checking out now when i can visit soon.

I live here.. It was so weird to SEE this video.
Seriously... If you have the chance... GO through these CAVES.
I have been through I think 20 times since 1964...
BUT... What is so weird... I have never seen the Bat Flight!!!
I have had bats come into my home (So Cute)...
A GREAT Experience
I am a Psychic Medium and I know that going 750 Feet underground has to have

The Carlsbad Cavers are a MUST See...

What a great video to watch to get me ready when I go here soon.
Really enjoyed this. Brought back memories from when I was a kid and lived in New Mexico. Been there many times.
That's awesome! This was my first time but I will for sure be back
Wow! I've got to go there with my 2year old grandson 6yrs ago who liked white sands very much. I'm in Korea. I look forward to visiting once more.
I went here as a young child, thanks for reminding me of it!!
My family was just there one week ago! I loved it just as much as I did the first two times I went.
I finally went one day by myself after living in Carlsbad for a couple years. Everyone said they'd take me. After realizing false promises I went by myself. I truly appreciate this video. You did proper justice as best as possible. Man. I need to go again. Looks like things are looking good

Thank you so much for this tour!!! I'll never be able to go there, but thanks to you, at least I've "seen" inside!! Very awsome!!!
1991!?!
Both the elevator and the walkway were there in 1991, maybe you just missed the natural entrance and took the elevator directly to the main room.
This is one of the most amazing and most magical places I have ever been to .
No words , videos or pictures can describe the enchanted beauty of such a majestic place . On top of that , the people from New Mexico are super nice 🥰
Thank you for taking us with you!
Thank you for sharing with us
I was there in 2019. I have been through a number of caves, but Carlsbad is the best. One of the biggest thrills though is to wait until sunset, and watch the bats by the thousands exit the cave.
I would love to see the bats like that as well, sounds awesome!
Went there twice (1972, 1999), totally worth it. Put it on your bucket list everyone.
Thank you so much for sharing this! Absolutely stunning and I can't wait until I'm able to visit!
I spent 12 hours in the caves one day taking pictures… so beautiful, so relaxing… Made me want to live in that cave! I didn’t do the natural entrance, took the elevator, but went everywhere I could!

Hi from Carlsbad New Mexico USA
Keep the videos coming, really enjoy watching your adventures Josh!
I’ve been here and it’s worth a visit.
Loved watching this. Still one of my top 5 national parks in the US. Maybe top 3?!! Every American should experience this in person; when I made my video I realised it was going to be impossible to give an accurate sense of scale with a camera. Truly incredible life experience!
Can’t wait to visit! 😊
You should!
Love the great video you never fail us on a Sunday
I am so glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Beautifully done. Thanks for the tour!
Beautiful look at the Caverns💜I went here with my son, it was really an incredible experience and this brings me right back
Sooo majestic easily one of my most favorite national parks ever😊
When I was a kid my family came here and we saw all of these areas. Back then there was a large room in the cave where you could eat lunch with all the other people, but that was 60 years ago. That was my only trip to this beautiful cave, where does the time go?
Thanks Again For Streaming
Great video. It’s beautiful. Cool experience for you all.
It's so hard to just document the scale of the caverns but it seems like video may be the best way to do it!
Awesome video man that place bring back lots of memories used to work there for 6 years
This is amazing! I've always wanted to visit. Thank you for this😊
My pleasure 😊 You should visit, its amazing
Love how informative your videos are. We hope to do a US Road trip in the future and it’s so helpful to know details and see what’s there. Love the bats!
Awesome video. It's on my list to go. Something to look forward to. Thanks.
Great walk through man, thanks! 👍

I'll pass but thank you for the tour. It was magnificent!!!
Thanks a lot for this journey! It's always amazing to be able to see somewhere new thru your eyes! : )
I’m excited to explore this place this weekend

No problem!
them there bats fly like birds. chirp like birds too. Yep. Reminds me of swallows. Nice Video.
i also want to mention the smoke Great stuff. I'm going to watch the whole video for sure now. Keep it coming.
Nice video! Going there in May 2022!
Great I wish you have filmed the bats leaving the cave.
I was there in the 70s, great family place, check out Mammoth Caves and Wind Cave when you get the chance.
I went there last week
Wonderful place ❤
Regresare algun dia
Amazing experience
Beautiful!😍❤️
Thank you! 😊
That's for the tour!
Just got back from here and Grand Canyon area for our 36th anniversary last week. Now I'm bummed, we took the elevator and miss the bat entrance plus those formation and caves after it. Oh well, will be going back next time with the grandchildren.
Awesome. Wanting togo someday. I’ve done most of the east coast caverns.
Wow! What a wonderful video.
Great video, can't wait to visit
i have been there it is amazing!
Hey man - nice video. But those aren't bats flying around at the entrance; they are cave swallows. (Btw, you pass a big sign that describes them in the vid.)
