I’m thinking of moving from New York to Las Cruces. No traffic is good 😊

I was born here and just turned 70. This place fits my life very well. I have visited many other places and countries, lived in Mexico for a short time, and always look foward to returning to Las Cruces. It is hot in the summer but we have mountain towns east and west of us that you can escape to. I have been retired for over 16 years and really enjoy getting out into the desert on dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and side by sides as well as my jeep or 4x4 pickup. If you truly love the outdoors and don't mind the heat this might be a good fit for you.

We are considering moving there for retirement. Have visited the area several times, one place I would definitely suggest is Bite of Belgium restaurant, downtown near the farmers market. Not far from the historic downtown there appears to be a building boom going on as well so I feel that most of the things that are noted as lacking for entertainment, dining, etc. will be improving shortly. We prefer the low key slower pace personally.

@@aventuras4wdlobo273 Wow great question. The people are great, so nice and everyone helps everyone. The weather is great for 3 seasons, spring is windy and dusty. Plenty of festivals and markets. The outdoors. Wow. Easy, slower paced living. I mean I could go on and on.

I visited Las Cruces three times deciding whether to move or not. Your informations presented here were right on the money and well presented. As you have indicated, I like the traffic situation, hardly congested most of the time. The weather is overall excellent. I may be looking forward to move there as good for retired folks like myself. Also not too far from El Paso, Texas if someone needs more excitements.

I’ve lived in Las Cruces for 15 years and unfortunately the city is in a decline. It used to be a beautiful and wonderful place to live. Parts of the city looks like a 3rd world country now. There are people who look like they are drunk or high that roam the streets all hours of the day. It’s also common to get harassed by aggressive homeless people. I plan on moving out as soon as possible.

I have lived here for 10 years. This is big sky country. Beautiful skies, looks gorgeous in pictures. Hot, record setting triple digits that will melt rubber & fade the paint on cars. Traffic is terrible because of the huge influx of people moving here & the roads can't handle all the extra vehicles. Homelessness is rampant here with tent cities popping up everywhere all the time. Water sources will not be able to handle the amount of people moving here. The amount of entertainment has not kept up with the fast growing housing market. And again, the summers here are definitely scorching. Please do not plant grass or any water sucking plants that don't provide shade, which you really need to consider having here.

Spent 10 years of childhood in Las Cruces, returned after college to work for the newspaper, later again for a year as an attorney with the City. Nearing retirement have renovated 5 homes for rental because i still see so much opportunity in the area. Its eclectic mix of housing and lifestyle options have always charmed me. The people are great, even if there are a few who grouse about change, traffic, the homeless, what have you. I see Cruces as a part of an urban population of 1 million (El Paso county + Dona Ana County) so you are not far away from something interesting. Toss in Ciudad Juarez and its 2 million.

If you "get tired" of Mexican restaurants/food do not move to Las Cruces. Saves more for US.

I have found beautiful heirlooms and posess . It's buy and sell, a melting pot of all ages of residence. Chamber of Commerce is helpful. You want to lay back and relax, Las Cruces NM 💜 is the place. The schools, sport's and loving Community. Are Lax. Everything is 20 minutes away, it's like a family unit and heart of hearts. Palm trees and looking over others. I love it. ❤

😂This guy is hard selling you. This city and state rank the worst in police killings, education, poverty, child wellbeing, suicide, alcohol related deaths.
This is a city of government and social workers who spend their careers spending public funds on welfare services. They are caretakers, who do the bare minimum, who have no skills or qualifications, they are just people who formed groups and call themselves experts.
Definitely nothing hopeful here. Its depressing.
