Bloodfiend Arm wasn’t nerfed that bad. It’s still amazing. Went from a B in Arcane Blood Infused to a C.

Yeah, Bleed buildup went from like 227 to 202 for me, not that big of a change
pretty gay imo. I literally went and wasted my last larval tear to play with this weapon only for them to turn around and nerf it =/ when I could have just left my build alone, and been fine to finish out the DLC on my current run with my BHF+MCS dex/arcane build so I could still swap into my great katanas/spears/any of my very strong lightning infused weapons. =/

The problem with the Perfume bottles now is that they’re absolutely useless. They need an overall weapon buff that doesn’t result in the originally broken spark perfume.
They really made the wrong call on how they handled the Rolling Sparks nerf. Making it only have 1 hitbox when aimed at the ground is the lamest fix they could've done. Yes, it needed a nerf, but this wasn't it. Now the AoW just doesn't function at all when aimed at the ground, and that goes way beyond a nerf.

Since the vacuum thing os swift slash can't stagger anymore, I think the AoW can now be properly parried.
Before, if you did managed to parry, the vaccuum would stagger you and you were unable to perform the critical attack

you could just mash R1 out of hitstun against it now with a faster weapon like straight swords and win trade...
overall you can't mindlessly spam it against people who are willing to take the trade instead of panic rolling
I can't believe Impenetrable Thorns didn't get nerfed. And I'm sad that the perfume bottles didn't get some general buffs since they are pretty bad without Rolling Sparks

Perfume bottles need a buff I think. They feel a bit lackluster, even at +25. Rolling sparks needed a serious nerf but now they just sort of hit like a wet paper towel.

They couldve made this ez and instead of taking the hitbox away from the ash they couldve changed it, so you cant stack the explosions on 1 place anymore (so you still throw it foreward and you cant aim that far under you. And with that change they couldve buffed the damage in the same change

+25 bottle with this ash hits harder with normal attacks than with the ash. Rolling Sparks were nerfed so hard they will need to be buffed abit because now their dmg is nonexistent. It went from a nuke to the wet napkin.
Y tf did they need to nerf rolling spark so hard? They couldn't give it a moderate nerf whilst still making it useful? Wtf is it with Fromsoft always ruining the most unique weapons?

Shhhh. You only get one first playthrough. After that, having a nuke is arguably necessary. Mostly so you can just quickly accomplish some goals. Perhaps they could give us something you earn on NG+3 that is a really good nuke in PVE. Don't care if they nerf it in pvp.
People aren't abusing the hell out of the spell yet as, shocker, this spell isn't amazing in PvP vs people who see it and thus don't go ape sh*t with it like most of the stuff nerfed here...
It'll 100% be nerfed, it's a much more efficient and overpowered Comet Azur in 90% of cases... a 24 faith sorcery that scales with arcane and int AND can cause a stunlock with bleed + dealing almost 5 digit numbers PvE *IS* going to be on the chopping block once people use it more...
Impenetrable Thorns is still by far without any close competition, the *best* offensive spell in the game... nothing comes close to it when you do some basic thinking on what you want in an offensive spell: High damage, Fast Casting, Crazy Range and AoE, Status buildup, Low Requirements, Strong Scaling, Low Slot Use, Matching Casting Tool (damage buff)... It literally ticks all of these boxes and it's not even funny... almost EVERY spell in the game cannot even tick all these boxes... let alone half of them...
Bit of a rant, but i can't get over how unbelievable overtuned this spell is for some goddamn reason but then we have *M I N O R E R D T R E E* which is just a worse Holy Grounds AoW for 70 Faith with less range and no defense boost...

I’m glad the changes to the thrusting shields still kept them viable. Now you can use shield boost spells, grease, and the Greatshield talisman to mitigate the stamina loss, while still keeping the guardpoints.
As a Monster Hunter fan who loves Charge Blade and Lance, I was hoping that these weapons wouldn’t get nerfed to the ground, as they’re super fun to use, and I’m glad to see that they’re still pretty good
Same they still some of the most fun and unique weapons I've used in a souls game
It’s not terrible post nerf with an optimized talisman setup and grease or scholars shield. You just don’t have unlimited stamina uptime anymore.
yes, you should report this kind of contents who love to exploit all the op weapon and crying to nerf it because they lost everytime in pvp. it would be nice if this channel just shut things about it
Both frenzyflame and lightning bottles were doing double the damage on rolling sparks, with or without the aiming at the ground glitch, it used to spawn 12 hitboxes instead of 6. And it was also doing double the poise damage as well.
The Fire Knight's Greatsword can still true combo R1-R1 and CR1-R1 if you free aim the camera on the second R1s just like on the Godslayer's GS. You can look up tutorials for this online. It still has the same damage potential as pre-patch, it just takes skill now.

@@fenixfelixx It'll still hurt to get hit by a Colossal weapon way more than an attack from a fast weapon. Hit a group of 2 or 3 with the FKGreatsword with 1 swing and they're more likely going to disengage than try to continue the attack. Take out any that try to greed you with a 2nd swing since everyone still neglects to level Vigor in this game. lol
@nateklempner561 It doesn't matter how hard any weapon hits if all you encounter is meta bleed bullshit or thorn spammers. The sword was a nice equalizer, but now if you play STR, you are once again just at a sheer disadvantage in pvp.

I got one-shot by the perfume weapon as I was invading. I still didn't know that was a new weapon so I was just standing there wondering wtf just happened
So something that wasn't mentioned in the patch notes was that they fixed the smithscript dagger's paired heavy attack. Both daggers now actually lock onto and hit instead of only one while the other just completely flies right pass them.
Sad how, just when I retweaked my build back to strenght to play with the Fire Knight's GS at it's max potential, they nerfed it's r1 r1 true combo.
I wasn't expecting this patch to come so fast (like she said to me).

I just played coloseum a couple hrs ago, I can still pull a L2-R2-R1 combo with flame skewer, dont know if my opponent press roll as he get hit so he cant roll or it still a true combo

Only the R2 of the AoW can combo into R1, if the L2 connected before, the R1 after the R2 can be dodged.
While perfume bottles were broken, they decided on a change that took it from literally the most broken weapon ever made to the most useless weapon ever made.
They seriously need to rethink some of their design philosophy cause a lot of times nerfs feel like "this is why X is broken, lets just completely remove that then it'll be magically fixed" without ever thinking of any of the spaces in-between.
Euporia needs a buff.
It just needs to be tweaked a little bit. The damage requirement to power up the weapon art should be lower.
Plus having decaying stacks when you have to wait 20 seconds before attacking is counter intuitive
Needs a bunch of fixes i would say, stacks decaying way slower, or not at all, and having some poise so when you finally manage to pull off the charged attack, you don't get knocked out of it by a passing breeze.
It's not bad rn, just very mediocre. I used that do beat the final boss. Indeed it needs a few tweaks to make it live up to the looks

i still don't think i've seen anyone talking about the bloodfiend's fork, the ripple crescent halberd nerf was celebrated but this thing is just lurking around? am i missing something backbreaking about the fork?
The double damage bug with lightning and FF bottles was the same thing that rolling sparks could do: more damage when smushed against the wall/ground.
Its fine that they nerfed the AoW, but come on, the regular attacks were obviously meant to hit multiple times in close quarters, why did they nerf that lol?
I don't know why, but I've seen no one discussing the Stealth-Patch to the final boss of the DLC.
Spoiler warning:
I've been grinding for a No-Hit-Run against Radahn for a week now, and this morning, I noticed at least 3 changes to his first phase.
1. My jumping attack now deals 1207 rather than 1054 damage (other attacks have received a similar damage buff - the jumping attack was just the one I remembered the exact number for off-hand)
2. His earthquake attack (4-hit combo ending in him smashing the ground, creating a small tremor) used to occasionally strike you even in mid-air, unlike any other earth-based attack in the game. I figured this may just be because gravity magic something something, but no, it was apparently unintentional as it is no longer the case. Jumping works consistently as a means of avoiding this hit box now.
3. The biggest one that clued me in is his "undodgeable" 3-hit combo (left, right, cross-slash). I haven't figured out if the tight window for dodging the whole thing has been widened, but one of the biggest aspects of it that got me was the fact that the hitstun from the second hit (and only the second hit) locks you in place long enough for him to hit you with the finisher. I've died literally dozens of times to this move alone - the hitstun was literally impossible to dodge out of in time to avoid the finishing move of the combo if he tags you with the second Slash. This is no longer the case. I have now dodged out of it consistently over a dozen times, despite this being wholly impossible before.
I've also noticed that his Bloodflame attack MIGHT have more endlag, and he MIGHT be slightly more susceptible to bleed? These I'm less certain of and will need to test.
Has anyone else noticed anything like this that wasn't in the patch notes?
They still didn't fixed the biggest problem with smithscript weapons, they don't do any posture damage AT ALL when throwed, this includes the charge attack (messmer spear included)

I think that nerf for bottles made that ash actually deal LESS damage than normal attacks done with the bottles. Hell charged heavy attack deals more dmg for sure. In short, they overdid the nerf and will need to buff it again. Bottles at +25 with this ash barely do any damage with it. Well it was fun while it lasted to use it in PvE against some of the more cancerous enemies.
I can understand some of these nerfs, but I don’t see why they don’t just buff some of the more underwhelming weapons instead.

Yeah this looks like an emergency patch. They usually take a couple of months for regular patches.
Smithscript wepons no longer get status effects scaling anymore. So bleed is perma 47... poison.... frost.... no scaling.
seriously every time i catch up to a game and start finding the fun broken things they patch it before i do anything with it. i was very disappointed today when ive spent a week getting to a build you mentioned then fromsoft patched it right as i was going to a boss. ive got terrible luck with timing
How do you find pleasure in playing the game which was intended to be hard with a one shot build mimic tear is fine cause now the bosses agro on you more but being sad for big fixes? It was never meant to be that broken

Literally just beat Messmer last night with the Bloodfiend's Arm, my timing is perfect. I'm really gonna miss this bloody arm lol
Now I'm enjoying the hell out of his spear. Overall, I'd prefer if they'd nerf the crazy stuff for PVP but leave it in PVE, making these outlandish builds is honestly so much fun 😊
Eh, the bloodfiend's arm still seems to be a top tier weapon for pve and pvp, the nerf wasnt that bad.
@@WelcomeToDERPLANDit’s a colossal so in duels it’s shit, for pve powerstance bleed curved swords does both more damage per sec and more bleed buildup. In no reality is it top tier at all. Even for invasions it’s mid at best now.
@@alexholmes8714 Eh, it can still 1 hit bleed proc most players outside of heavy armor- for that alone I think its still top tier, also if you are good enough, colossus weapons arent TOO much of a handicap- I run UGS and colossal weapons exclusively and still win like 80% of my duels in the arena.

Just loaded in and saw that the Bleed buildup only dropped from 212 to 195, about an 8% change. Not bad at all, not nearly as much as those Perfume Bottle changes lol, was looking forward to giving those a shot 😂
What’s your build on the spear how good is it on its own?
Its going to get bad once people realize smithscript daggers are S scaling in dex, get easy headshots, can be buffed with a variety of talismans, and are extremely safe. Scattershot seems to be the ideal ash of war so far for them when free-aimed (more headshots) Use them in your birthday suit with the blue dancer talisman, smithing talisman, spear talisman/rotten winged sword insignia, and shard of alexander to really ruin peoples day. Take advantage of the fact that you can jump backwards while throwing the daggers with r1 and r2, this ends up also headshotting a lot of the time
Lesson learned if you find something op that can one or two shot a boss keep it to yourself and dont post about it so they dont find out

Some influencer will always find new op stuff or get the infos from their fans and then they make Videos like "TRY THIS OP WEAPON TO ONESHOT EVERYONE WHILE BAKING A CAKE" then every other influencer copies it, they all say its op and boom its useless afterwards. I can understand the balance, to dont cheese the game to hard but they kinda seem to only nerf the good or op weapons, but never ever buff the garbage weapons and stuff. I mean some incarntations are beyond garbage for what they require in mana cost, requirement and after all that dont are worth it at all (like fire rain does less damage then 1 or 2 r1 from a straight sword, minor erd tree heals less then the blessing, you have to stand close to it where you can run around with the blessing and it uses 2 spell slots, thats just beyond bad. But i wonder what will get no touch at all from the def team...

Wait till they find out the fire knights greatsword can get to 1000 damage without buff if applied correctly. Along with a staggering 150 cold damage buildup with fire added as a bonus.
So with the thrusting shields you can swap to the greatshield talisman to mitigate more stamina damage then. I want to be able to trade in PvP without it being an OP thing. Overall I'm quite happy about this nerf so far.

don't forget Fire Knight's Greatsword did get a buff too, now scales better with Fire infusions. likely solid in Fire/Faith builds, since catch flame in the offhand can mitigate speed issues

I literally said to myself, "If you just cut the damage in half it would have been fine." Now the skill doesn't even make sense. Why would the other stink clouds just vanish just cuz it's pointed at the ground? So stupid.
Nah its still strong. Just nto broken. It was doing like 40k dmg. Even 20k for an ash of war is way too much

@@pritanis4567 you can be RL 1 and use a combination of buffs to literally one shot every boss with a charged heavy. No one gives a shit about damage being "too high" in pve. And we know they make pvp exclusive changes so nerfing there, sure whatever. Leave pve alone so people can have fun

The thing is literally bugged and doesn't inflicts bleed despite the fact that it's clearly meant to and they didn't even addressed it lmfao. I really doubt that it's hard or time-consuming to fix, so why couldn't they just...ya know, fix it?

they fixed a bug with the smithscript weapons anyways so logically it makes sense to throw in a range increase if they felt it needed it
@@l.o.v.e-sick5330 IKR. So now all the weapons that were only good due to bugs will be shit for weeks or months or maybe forever considering it's fromsoft. Meanwhile the bugs like Ansbach's incant just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I think fromsoft and it's dick suckers are more okay with the vast majority of tools being unviable as opposed to actually balanced or having a use. several hundred weapons and a the vast majority of spells/incant are just redundant and bad. It's why you only see a few dozen tools in the meta.
Also idk, I have zero problems facing swift slash spammers. I usually just try to hyperarmor into their dash and damage trade. Win every time
Well that was quick making a vid on the patches lol but not surprised the broken stuff got nerfed it definitely was gonna get fixed eventually and I think some of them were needed lol. Though I'm a bit sad the bottles got nerfed, I wanted to use them before they did but oh well I was busy and exploring takes time in this game.
Tried them , at the beginning it was fun dealing 10k per WA but got stale and boring pretty quickly ,you didn't really miss much
Not sure how many people noticed this but when Shadow of the Erdtree released it patched a few things I haven't seen anyone talking about. Like the glitch where you could jump off the map in either Mohg's palace or Ordina and get a bunch of runes have been patched out, you can still bypass the first death plain but the second one has been extended further than you can jump and well before you gain any runes. I think the chainsaw glitch might also be gone I was able to pull it off on rare occasion before, but now I get a message stating "you are unable to change equipment now". Anyone else able to pull these glitches off after the DLC released?
hot take, any balances for weapons that are too strong in pvp, should only affect pvp, the game is meant for that single player experience not the pvp experience
imagine having to use 3 braincells to break the game instead of it breaking itself for you.
But I don't think there is a way to do that. The game doesn't work that way

So, I've decided to make a str/arc build for the dlc a few days ago.
And the only weapon that survived the nerfs was the str/arc with huge bleeding.
Happy days.
Now, if only rain of fire was buffed.
I miss when games rewarded you for playing them and pvp wasn't so focused on during patches. It's an action rpg where the Excalibur endgame swords you get rewarded with for beating the games toughest challenges have to be nerfed to Club+1 because pvpers get butthurt trying to ruin other people's games.

The nerfed it a little bit too much. I mean it deals 300 at max . But has less damage over time than a colossal sword. I mean it is even slower and deals just 300 damage. That’s ridiculous

@@andrew-rn9ui theres no "get good" against how the FKGS was before, cause you just couldnt trade a hit with it, and the person who uses it will definitely try and force you into a trade, but basically, if you got hit, you were eating ALL the damage, no negoatiation.

Why can devs never quick patch some buffs?
Hot fixes are generally to fix bugs and other game breaking problems. This patch actually did buff a few things that were suffering from negative glitches or other unintended issues. The throwing knives go further now, that spell casting sword actually works as a proper wand now etc.

I have to thank you for all your videos. yesterday before the patch i was playing with my friends because they hadnt beaten the dlc yet and we got a ton of invaders throughout the hours we played. more than a few FKGS users and a couple of death blight bug abusers. i told my friends what their plans were (thanks to your videos i knew about the bugs they all had) and im proud to say my friends and I successfully beat them handily after knowing what to watch out for (like rushing the nanaya torch build and using heavy madness/death resistant armor.) so thank you again for keep us all updated on the busted weapons of the dlc lol

Tried them ,pretty fun dealing 10k damage per WA ,but got boring and stale pretty quickly, currently playing wing stance milady and having 10 times more fun
They did a couple other things too that don’t really change gameplay. They removed the Int requirement from the Shield of Night for example

Wtf game you playing whips are fun and it was obviously a bug with rolling sparks it still does big damage against big bossea and the weapons themselves are really good if you were just using rolling sparks into the ground you were exploiting a bug not using the weapon
The perfume bottle thing reminds me of how sunlight spear in DS3 had multiple hitboxes you could stack.

The nerfs are actually bug fixes. Impenetrable thorns is one that deserves a balance nerf.
These bugs are crutches for people who are inept at the game mechanics.
@@chrisxl5152 I'm a be real I've been using moonveil since launch base game haven't played anything else... so I'm very well versed on the game mechanics... somethings should be overpowered in a game like this and if a person who is a pro is using it than that's abuse it can be more for those casuals who will still die while having that build but u get my drift.. like I'm not here saying keep 1 shot stuff in no but if we get nerfed why can't some of the bosses get nerfed??? I know the game is suppose to be punishing and I really like the difficulty but some shit is just ridiculous and I'm pretty sure u can agree... at least give them a cool down so they can't spam etc...

So I spent a +25 on the carian thrusting sword a few and I was so mad when I saw a carian slicer come out for 200something (on an 80 int character) it feels so much better now! Only issue now is power attack as the catalyst button prevents it from going guard counters…. Which is sad since thrusting swords go great with shields.
Fire knight great sword still is op bc it got an unintentional buff so now fire and flame art scaling was increased.

The recovery time for using swift slash needs to be higher. Not absurdly but enough to make it possible to escape

So as soon as I get all the smithscript weapons because they were genuinely fun they nerf the shit out of them and they’re unusable now. I was wondering why I was having trouble doing any damage with them today in my new run, I’m literally heartbroken
Glad i used the thrusting shield gaurd poke thing before the nerf.
It helped me and my friend handle the final dlc boss for his world in the most hilarious visual ever for him. A short guy poking at the bosses ankles and face tanking entire swinga.
I used the smithscript hammer on a strength build for most of the dlc. Never noticed it cause i never used it. Literally ungabunga hammer toss for most trash mobs. Was really showcased when i dealt with one of those cannibalistic fat boy swarms; Hammer toss goes through enemies, and functions as a pseudo aoe that knocks them right down to boot.
They shouldn't have nerfed everything across the board like that without buffing some of the underwhelming options.
although most of these were bug fixes, some were bugged in a way that proposed a new method of playing the game that was introduced with the dlc, changing them like this makes them feel like they aren't worth using
Most of these things were unintended bugs that resulted in huge damage so I'm fine with changing that.

The frenzied flame perfume is still really good for pvp at least. Because the ash of war still has multiple hitboxs just not when thrown at the ground
The Smithscript dagger range was pitiful prepatch, I legit thought it was bugged but it's just barely past melee range
I actually got interrupted casting the perfume art of war and had to set it off with an R1 attack
It's cool that you can set it off yourself. I wonder if you would be able to do that against players too; set it off early to hurt them instead

Swift slash deff needs like 1-2 full seconds of recovery to balance it out it just shouldn't be spammable.
Please, for the love or marika, stop nerfing all sheilds, small sheilds are useless now and medium sheilds are just bad with 2 exceptions and greatsbeulfs are just mid because they're all so heavy with little more benefit than then basic sheilds, I just wasn't good sword and sheild combos
I don't know if it's just me, but I tried using rolling spark in a straight line (like I used to when i needed to hit something that wasn't already at shagging distance)...
And it sucks arse. When I could inflict a high (but reasonable) amount of damage before, now only one or two hitboxes ever seem to hit the enemy - resulting in stupidly low damage.
the perfume, they only nerfed, when you attack the floor, still functional and with great damage thrown normally.
