I'm reading all these arguments. I have a 2016 Road Glide and love it. I could care less which one is faster. If you had to try to keep up to Harley's engines and upgrades you'd go broke trading them in every year. If you have a 88, 103, 107, 114 my advice is to get on it, ride safe, be proud and enjoy the brotherhood Harley has to offer!! A Harley Davidson wasn't make to be a crotch rocket!!
Great analysis I myself have a 2014 Street glide shrine 103 high output and my buddy the 107 M8 . Both black and chrome. There really isn't much in it . He's obviously has that more get up and go and would probably hit 100 that bit quicker but all in all negligible.
Exactly!.. well said… there’s bikes out there with half the displacement that’ll smoke both of those Harleys…. But like you said, that’s not the point 😝
I once got my 103 Road Glide Ultra to carry my 280 pound body over 105 mph very quickly and it still had more . Even if I had the 117 It wouldn't have mattered ,105 mph is fast enough. I prefer a safe comfortable eyes everywhere ride . The 103 is more than enough for me . Riding a bike is a whole lot of fun when doing it safely.
This is just one of those things that if you just have to have the newest and baddest bike you can afford just do it! I have a 06 Electra glide Ultra Classic with a big bore 95 SE Cams VH ovals with true duels and mapped with a Power Commander well I have no problem keeping up with and even pulling on most of my buddies newer bikes so I just can't justify starting over with a new bike and making all those payments again. It's so nice to have a beautiful older bike that most people think is still fairly new. So keep those old H-D's clean and running good and you can enjoy them for many years to come.
still running a 98 Ultra Classic with a 80 EVO, stock for now, only added some Vance & Hines slip ons, stage 2 this fall hopefully. Like you said, paid off feels good and old but looks fairly new
congrats on keeping the old girl in good shape. i love the old Evo's .. I had a 98 Fat Boy but had to sell it to help with my closing on my house many years ago. Now I have 4 bike. Thanks for sharing.
Here we are about 5yrs later and I gave my beautiful 06 Ultra Classic to my nephew who was honorably discharged after 17 years of service because of all his injuries. Now I have a 2020 Ultra limited 114 that I bought privately a year ago that had 6k on it and its 100% with stock mufflers. This is my first bike that hasn't been modified in any way and it was killing me to did into it but I fought it because I couldn't stand that after a day on the road my ears would be ringing all night and I couldn't sleep from the ringing. I would love to just Cam it and tune it with the stock mufflers to make some low end torque and wake it up passed 4200 Rpm because that stock cam really drops dead after that. Any idea's?
We had the same out come when my dad and I raced. He has a 2014 103 street glide and I now have a 2018 107 Road king special. The first time racing he had aftermarket exhaust and I had stock. He smoked me every time, in every type of race. After I installed a set of aftermarket exhaust it even out the outcome. When we race now, it comes down to who gets the best start and who hits the best shifts. With that said mine is still getting broken in. It now has a little over 7k miles, where as his is probably around 15 to 20k miles
Me and the 103 have the same range, we fit perfectly together. People pass me all the time, but me and the 103 could care less. The 103 gets me to highway speed quick sometimes to quick, I look down and I'm doing 80 plus. My 103 only has RCX mufflers. The 103 hauls my 285 pound ass just fine, no complaints
And with the twin cam engine we don't have to worry about our engine blowing up do to a oil sumping issue along with several other problems... I'm sure that in a few years the new m8 will be a great motor to have but Harley rushed it into production so they could advertise against the Indian motor.
I owned a 2012 103 and now have a 2017 Road King. The 107 is far superior in every way to the 103, In particular, it has much better acceleration and less heat and vibration.
@@porkchopspapi5757 he even said he got the jump on the 107 in the first race. I have a 107 just like this one but with SVT Jackhammer pipes. It can make a 103 nervous on take off from dead standstill
@@DeBa1226 That's the scissor gear in them (M8s). Even with aftermarket pipes and cams, it will still have that scissor gear sound. Sort of like a Honda cruiser. The days of the EVO are gone sadly.
I own two TC 103 HD’s and couldn’t be happier with them. The both have been upgraded to stage 2 and both are running the Man O War compensator, Barnett extra plate clutches and S&S cam plates and high volume oil pumps. Plenty of power for an old man of 61 and around 110 foot pounds of torque. Love them and I actually prefer the way they sound to the Milwaukee 8.
Are you still happy with the Man O War compensator? I have a stock one in my 2015 RG and it gets noisey and seems loose when it heats up. Heard the MOW was a good choice.
The M8 had it from the dig the 2nd run. Not to evenly matched there, you can see where the 4v shines. I'm still rocking a 95", bolt on 103s are fun to play with😉
Ya, these basically only have a stage 1 on them, Stage 2 requires a new/upgraded cam. Regardless of the mistake, they were honestly both pretty close in performance with not a huge difference visually. The M8 will obviously out perform but it’s nothing to write home about. I have a M8 107 with a Stage 2 (Torque cam) and you can tell the difference when it jumps off the line vs a Stock or Stage 1 when I race my buddy who just has pipes on his bike. I’m looking to get a Road Glide with the 114 and I want to put a Sleeper Kit from Zipper Performance in it, that’s my goal hopefully by the end of the year. 🤞🏼😎🤘🏼
Glad you pointed out it's not a stage 2 without changing out the cam. Cam upgrade along with the stage 1 mods wake up a 103. I have a 2014 SGS with CY 570-2 Cam and my seat dyno tells me it's a significant change. 90HP 110TQ pulls like a freight train. 40K miles no issues.
103 twin can motor has 2 valves per pot 4 in total, 107 Milwaukee 8 is 8 valves per pot 8 in total.the Milwaukee 8 motors have a better air cover on them for sucking in air. PS all Harleys are nice no matter what.
Not much difference, I just put S&S 585 bolt in cams in my 2012 103 Streetglide, gained 35hp and close to 30ftlbs of torque, and it woke the 103 up!!! Complete power! I just wish I would have done it a long time ago!!
I have 2008 Street glide 96 in maped, intake, Thunder header slip ons, Screaming Eagle clutch pack also lighter bags. My homeslice had 107 SG I Think 2017 all stock we ran them about 8th mile i got him on th line i couldn't pull away but he couldn't catch me either he was pissed ! good times lol ! Buy the way i bought my bike Cherry ( her name ) new in 08 brand new. We've been all over im from San Jose Ca and traveled all over the State Laughlin Neveda, Reno Nevada, Lake Taho, El Paso Tex , New Mexico yeah life is good and god is great ! Im a recovering Alcoholic 21 years and a Cancer survivor as well. Cherry ( SG) she has 80 thousand miles on her now and runs better than new ! Ive learnd along the way to work on my own bike self service's oil changes, tune ups, brakes, tires, stater, transmission, clutch pack, rocker box cover gaskets i could go on and on but glad i learned how to wrench on my bike it came easy ive been a gear head since was knee high to a grasshopper lol ! Of course with the help of the Bible's ( service and parts manual ) and you tube thanks for the tips keep the shiny side up PEACE !
Stage 2 is cams bud, stage 1 is exhaust air cleaner and tune, something worth mentioning is the 107 doesn’t really gain much in stage 1, when you put a cam in an M8 you’ve got 105-110 horsepower. You have to do beadwork, compression, big bore and cams to get that kind of power from a twin cam.
Cool vid... Which bike handles better? Which bike do you like better and why? What year did the early bike stop and the new bike start? Looking at getting a RG, so doing my research. Cheers
I'd like to see another round of comparison. Rolling start say maybe 20 MPH then have both shift at 4500 RPM and go as fast as they both will go. That may give a better or more comprehensive comparison.
I’ve ridden both and for me the new 107 is just like when the 103 came out. Of course the slightly bigger, newer designed motor is going to have some better performance and we will see in time if the 107 is going to be reliable. I think it will be. I’ve never had problems out of a 103, so I think they’ll be fine. I’d trade my Dyna in for a 107 if they still made new Dynas, so I guess if I want a 107 I’ll just have to get another bike 🙄. But as of right now I stay right with the guys with new 107 motors.
If you're going to do a test light this it should be from a stand still. My Brother and I both have Road Glides, his is the 15 with 103 with stage 1, mine is 18 107 stock. I leave him in the dust every time. M8 motor loves higher RPMS, where the twin cam prefers mid range. I have a 06 nightrain with a 97 kit, cams and tuner that leaves 103s in my mirrors every time. You need to know the machine and how to get peak performance. Torque gets you moving, HP is top end.
Good call.... they’ve been burning up, seizing up those M8’s every year since they came out in ‘17. Every year they tell guys they got that problem fixed, and yet they don’t. That Twin Cam lives well beyond 100,000 miles, plenty of those motors out there still running.
@@DeBa1226 a good friend bought one of the very first M8 CVO Limited in '17. Before the first oil change the engine had no oil pressure to speak of and I can attest to his being a very civil and conservative geezer rider. They ordered a new matching serialized engine from the factory, it took months! The bike has been sitting at the dealership ever since - has not turn a single click since the engine was replaced. I ask him from time to time what he's gonna do with it and he replies, "I dunno, out of sight out of mind!"
I got a 107 brother has a 103 both softails. Same thing different motor. From a stand still I beat him by about 8 car lengths from a race to 70. But honestly I think the 103 has plenty of power they are meant to be cruiser bikes after all. Also the 103 has that classic Harley shake when you sit on it but the 107 is silky smooth and honestly alot of guys and girls hate that.
Dude...LMAO!! Yes, I timed 11 seconds to catch and pass the SUV from roll-on. Damn...if only the SUV guy knew it was a race and floored his vehicle, that would have made it even more hilarious!
Y'all gotta remember they are at highway speeds 70 or 80mph. They are made for torque. Light to light they will give a sportbike hell but not on a roll. Power to weight and gearing folks. Quick nonetheless. These new high CI baggers run 0-60 in the 3 sec range.
@@ne1cup The twin Cam 88 thing was Rock soild never had any major issues yes I had the cam tensioners replaced at 63k bike went over 100k no it wasnt power house but always got me there an home. Year of the 114 RKS happy rider here
Stage one stage two who cares. Main point is they are same upgrade. This was a great comparison. I originally thought the 107 would have been even stronger. Thank you
I travel drag racing 1/8 mile doing no prep, grudge, and street, and I own a bad ass custom built Titan with a 143 S&S. I bust ricer cafe bikes down without trying but you put a non experienced racer behind the wheel and not known when to shift and so on they'll loose. The way to race is equal take off and the switch bikes and see out come when doing a test like your doing.
I walked away from my buddies 107” road king on my 103” switchback. Both stage one, both good riders. I think my power to weight just edged out a little.
So basically the 107ci won because the first race didn't count since you jumped. I've had both the 103 and 107 and the M8 pulls down low and up high in the rpm's whereas the 103 would die out as the revs increased. Both are good engines, but I think the 4 valve M8 is one of the best engines Harley ever made (not counting the Revolution engine).
You should check out tatro machines channel he takes the heads off a m8 and really shows you what's wrong with engine. They run way to hot! Only time will tell.
@@dh2392 twin cams also ran extremely hot. But the m8 probably has a hotter head then even the twin cams. They run so hot that they burn the carbon off the piston heads.
What seat is on the 18 RGS? Looks like what I’m looking for. I picked up a ‘19 RGS with the 114 in it. I had stage II with cams put on and Dyno tuned. Thing kicks butt over my old 103 TC with stage II. But it should, right? I enjoyed watching two RGS bikes racing! Thanks for posting,
Respectfully I'll have to disagree with the way more powerful part. Smoother better throttle response and a bit more power stock for stock I'll give you but not way more. I eat 107s and 110s on my 15 flhx base model
Each Harley you have drives different .... each has its own charm ... smoothness and vibration of big twin rumble ... and its now counterbalanced cousin ... feel fortunate, you have experienced many Harley Engines, while Metric Riders have never even ridden a Harley, until the Milwaukee 8 released, and the 25% vibration is "now" only simulated... otherwise, Harley Proved, it could have made a non-vibrating bike decades ago, when Harley introduced the Fat Boy, with it counter balance engine for the first time... in the movie Terminator... and Harley just changed the course of History, by end of life'ing its Type A rubber mount Motor, while shifting to 100% counter balanced motors... making all our Bikes Awesome... in its own personal way ...
@@jordanhiggins3649 because our bikes are not also powering an entire counterbalance system, which is requiring a lot of horsepower to generate the torque first, while our type A motor, has instant torque to wheel .... so, once we have the Jump on any Bike, we can usually pull out ahead, until the counterbalanced engine recalibrates at higher RPMs, and catches up at much higher speeds, and faster gear shifts to sixth speed... while non-counterbalanced engine enjoy Instant and Spontaneous torque power of our lower gears ...
@@SimpleLegends you should edit to: "while SOME metric riders......" I've ridden Metric and when My wife wanted to ride with me at greater distances I got a road glide ('13) at the recommendation of a friend.. Still kept my Boulevard M109 as a SOLO power cruiser. But since then I upgraded a RGU ('16 for dual cooling and tourpak and recently (2 weeks ago) went to the 114 RGS.. (removable tourpak - and mustang two piece seat - best of both world . can remove tourpak and pilon and make it a solo cruiser with some pep in its step :) ) next week I will place my M109r for sale as the HD is now a lot closer to the 109 and I really don't have the need for both.. That said though.. I just love riding and would enjoy to ride even on a moped. I believe a LOT of harley riders came from a metric world (since it the bike we could afford when younger) and then moved to HD way before the M8... Just saying.... "stay thirsty my firends... " but ride safe...
My style of rural riding in the U.K. found even the 96” fast enough except 70+ mph on the highways which was limited in grunt and it guzzled gas. May go for a 103” twin cam or 107” M8 glide this winter. Back roads with loads of camping gear and mostly solitary riding means I am not in a hurry.
Pretty good vid....I have a 2005 ultra with the trunk off (basic street glide) 95" with Andrews .570 cams, SC 110 big valve heads, air cleaner, bub sevens and a GOOD tune and it runs with all of my buddies easily, INCLUDING the 103's. I just got a 2017 SG and stock it pulled my ultra easily every time until about 4000RPM where it went to frikin sleep. I put a Woods 222 cam, gutted the stock pipe with Rineharts slip ons and an air cleaner. It SMOKES my ultra in every way shape and form and it's a hundred times smoother, has ABS and a killer radio. I LOVED my ultra before I got the 17 SG.....NO comparison! Yes it's 12 ci bigger motor but the power comparison is AMAZING and the handling and all...hate to bash ole Beulah but so long as the SG runs...she won't be getting ridden much.....PLUS 6 gallon gas tank???? and the SG runs that good and STILL gets 42mpg.....It's just plain baddass...best Harley I've ever owned by far
103 vs 107 if 103 is paid off stick with it. Now if we are comparing 114 vs 103 then upgrade to the 114 it’s a beast. I went from a 96 to the 114 and holy crap totally worth the upgrade!!!
M8 has that scissor gear. That's why it sounds like a Honda. Even with aftermarket pipes and cams. I remember when everyone said no to the evo after the sound of the shovel. Then the twinkie came out and they missed the evo sound. To this day i think the evo with 1.75 drag pipes sound the best. But again, sound is subjective.
I know this is an older video but I just had a huge debate last night with my brother-in-law about this subject. For what it will cost to upgrade from my Ultra Limited I think that I am going to stick with my 103 with the screaming eagle tuner because it just doesn't look to me that it is that much more that I would be getting out of the 107. Thanks for the video and I think this video will shut my brother-in-law up because he was saying that the 107 would just leave the 103 in the dust.
Really there are many other variables to consider like gearing, belt drive sprocket sizes to name a couple. Best way to test is factory stock to factory stock. IMHO. But 103 to 107 is not that much.
As a reference, both bikes barely caught up to that Hyundai. Harley's are cool and have a great vibe, but they're not fast. Go ride a fast bike and you'll understand.
Sportbiker with an unmodded 600cc bike is thinking.." Hold my beer!!!!" I know that overall top speed was not the primary point of this video......but still..... performance worthiness, for a Harley, should probably focus on comfort level, aesthetics, heat management, durability, possibly off the line acceleration, and price.
The M8 engine makes way more power across the RPM range. It keeps pulling past 70mph unlike the 103 that runs out of steam around 65. There is really no comparison between my 114 vs my 103. And my 2012/103 was 100lbs lighter (RG vs RGU). If I do the same upgrades to each bike I would easily see 30ftlbs more torque over the 103. And the cases don't need to be split on the M8. The cylinder heads have 50% more flow vs TC that pretty much says it all. 8 valve vs 4, better cooling, 5qt oil sump vs 3. After I get some miles on the 19 It will be getting the 128 treatment. The engine is beautifully balanced, some people are actually bitching about that lol. But the crank won't fly apart when it's laying down 145ftlbs. No BS, go check out Fuel Moto..
Hey man, what you're saying is a stage 2 kit is actually just Stage 1. Which includes, full exhaust with headers, new intake, and a tune (all external and the tune). Then you gave stock numbers for the two bikes. It would be interesting to see the dyno numbers from both bikes with the Stage 1 upgrades. Stage 2 upgrades are small internal upgrades, like swapping out your cams and high performance rods.
great apples to apples comparison. im a little shocked the M8 didn’t respond to the stage 1 upgrades better than the 103. expected more from harley’s 4valve head. although it could be a tribute to their 2 valve design too.
Stage 1 is just AC . The D&D with a dyno session is a big improvement over stock settings the FM MAP. Is just a starting point get them dyno tuned properly and you will see better gains with a tuner. My stock 15 RGS HO 103 was making 101 hp and 100 tq with the proper fuel tuner and dyno session with a D&D.
Just upgrade to any BMW K1600 bike, or my bike the K1600B with full Remus exhaust. Stock with 160HP, 129torque, gear shift assist, rides modes, suspension settings, etc. All for the same price as your beloved H-D Street/Road Glide. What do you really get for a $25k+ H-D bike?
4ci is not much at all in the grand scheme of things. At that point the lighter bike and rider wins. Those are only stage 1.. with that it all depends on how well the exhaust, intake and tune does for that bike. What's each bikes dynoed out to now? Maybe the 103ci made more power do to a better performance upgrade selection and tune? Either way 4ci is not really a significant difference to make a whopping difference. With that, the M8 will run cooler, smoother and when you both get into stage 2 or higher is when you will see the 107ci start to really show its gains.
Great Video! Noticed you have no jackets on while racing..... in 2016 I was side swiped at 65 MPH from a cage driver on freeway who missed his exit and I had no jacket on , that freeway scrubbed my skin right off all over my body and 26 days in the hospital but thank God i'm still Alive and riding still , I hope he got his Karma because he left me there almost run over several times. Please Please put on some leather guys if you out there riding the roads. That Sh!t HURTS! Ride safe brother!
I wont change to the 107 from my 103....Love my FatBob with Stage 1 air cleaner...V@H 2 into 1 Propipe with Fuelmoto Tuner.....Maybe Cams in the future???
I like my 103, 2014 FLHR. Its basically got a stage II as well I think with a cam (I bought it used). Lookin to bump up to 110 Tire Shredder. 126 HP sounds good.
Interesting but When listing Hp and Torque, indicate if its at the crank or at the wheel.. Stage 2 includes what you have on the bikes plus higher performance CAMS..you do not have stage 2 in either, but you do have stage 1 mods
2012 road king 103. 2 inch true dual headers with no cats and cobra exhaust. It had some kind of radical cam and mappings. Couldn't ride it. It was nothing, nothing, then wham! Ripped out the radical cams, went with Screamin Eagle cams and mapping and Viola! I'll put my 2012 103 up against any Milwaukee 8.
Great video good footage.. interesting results. Thanks a lot for this video.. Nonetheless as we know it's the rider ... that would make the difference as to who's faster... in turms of ripping around the twisties or blasting around the coast ! The twin cam and the 6 speed are a great combination that's for sure. Is the m8 better ? Time will tell !! 😎
My 15 RG with 103 TC ,cams ,2into 2 Magna flow, big cobra intake ,PV tune I venture to say would smoke that 107 and get close to 50 mpg all day long. 95 HP ,112 ft lbs tq.
Be it a twin cam 103 or an m8 107 it’s a matter of preference. I have an 18 RG FLTRX S & S 475, S & S 2 into 1 hiflo air filter, oil pump, lifters etc. and a thundermax and it is more than enough performance. And when it come down to it the m8 has 4 valves a cylinder which is hard for a 2 valve a cylinder to beat in performance. Either way what ever makes you happy.
I upgraded to the 107 because I rented a Road Glide in Honolulu and found the new M8 engine stock to be cooler than my 103 that had the cat removed, Power Commander and Arlen Ness stage 1 air filter installed, and was dyno tuned. For me it wasn't about power, it feels much cooler. The engine may not actually be cooler, I don't care about that, I care about how it feels to the rider. In fact other than a set of heated grips on my 2017 Road Glide Ultra, I've left the bike stock. I'm actually happy with it as it is.
Put pants on how the hell do you not care if then engine was running cooler that's more important than a little warm air I sit on a 110(soon to be 117) in Phoenix you always want your engine cool
@@dustinyoung7458 The engineers at Harley know more about engines than I do, and I trust that they wouldn't want to damage the brand with an unreliable engine. Plus, there is the little detail of me saying I didn't care if it was actually cooler, I didn't say I didn't care it it was actually hotter.
Both bikes have a stage-one however the Milwaukee eight engine has d&d which makes the most horsepower for Harleys I repeat the most horsepower for Harleys. Where is that the older twin cam motor only has a thunderheader exhaust which doesn't do much for the fuel injected motors but really work well with a carbureted bikes.
Both have plenty of power, splitting hairs over the torque and HP discussion. Not looking to burn my back tire off, pull wheelies, or run 110+mph anywhere. Plenty of power to roll two up, plenty of passing power thru mountain passes. Between the two, that twin cam 103 will always produce better sound than the M8, which I like; to each his own. I’d take a 2016 Twin Cam Road King any day over a new M8.
It was pretty non conclusive if you asked me. In the first race, the 107 couldn't catch up. Same thing goes for the 103 in the second race. It came down to who got the jump off the line. The difference may have been offset by rider's weight and other factors. Were those HP TQ numbers stock or after mods? Different engines react differently to performance add ons. Plus, numbers don't tell the whole story. It's in the dyno curves that matter more. In race number two the 103 pretty much hung dead on until the rider shifted gears. During the gear changes is where the 107 pulled. If it were my money and I already had a 103, I'd throw in a set of cams and take my bike to a competent dyno tuner. Caned maps suck.
Thanks for sharing the video! I'm looking at Street Glides right now and found a great deal on a 2016 Street Glide that fits in my budget but I also found a 2107 n 2018 that are a bit more in price but they have the 107 in them and I wasnt sure how much of a difference there was in power. Can you help with suggestions between the 2016 and 2018 that would help sway me one way or another?
great vid i recently purchased 107 i love it but a 103 prob would have been ok too but since i was gonna bit the bill and pay the HD tax i got the newest i could afford
A Harley Davidson wasn't make to be a crotch rocket!!
yeah screw the people with the 96 lol
Great analysis I myself have a 2014 Street glide shrine 103 high output and my buddy the 107 M8 . Both black and chrome. There really isn't much in it . He's obviously has that more get up and go and would probably hit 100 that bit quicker but all in all negligible.

The Great thing about Harley bikes are all the upgrades you can do to them. Your comment about going broke is absolutely correct! 😆😆
Exactly!.. well said… there’s bikes out there with half the displacement that’ll smoke both of those Harleys…. But like you said, that’s not the point 😝
Pipes, intake, and tuner is a stage one upgrade.
Stage 2 needs a cam plus the Stage 1 improvements
yep.. no cams ?? stage one only goin on there..
this was going to be my comment lol glad someone beat me to it.
How can he not know the difference between stage 1 and stage 2?
This is Sad....

Still fun to have a 100+ hp sporty to mess around with....
My 103 hauls my 250lbs fat ass just fine too.
@@MrBigTexFyre 😎👍🤣

Shit I'm 300 on an 88 and I have no issues lol
Loved my 103, but my new 107 is even better. Smoother with more torque. Glad I upgraded. Am considering a stage 2 down the road.
I have over 300k road miles on the 96CI....i just upgraded to a 114 street glide special and LOVE it.
300 k miles on 96 in SWEET !!!! 👍
Minimal results and minimal performance upgrade
I’ll keep my 103!
Looking at the cars they were passing. They were both accelerating so slow. LoL
114, 107 isn't much of an upgrade
I think I’ll keep mines 2 bro. Lol
And with the twin cam engine we don't have to worry about our engine blowing up do to a oil sumping issue along with several other problems... I'm sure that in a few years the new m8 will be a great motor to have but Harley rushed it into production so they could advertise against the Indian motor.
Ben Daves upgrade the oil sump and no issues
I owned a 2012 103 and now have a 2017 Road King. The 107 is far superior in every way to the 103, In particular, it has much better acceleration and less heat and vibration.

Far better acceleration? Not acording to this proof.
@@porkchopspapi5757 he even said he got the jump on the 107 in the first race. I have a 107 just like this one but with SVT Jackhammer pipes. It can make a 103 nervous on take off from dead standstill
I’m sure that 2012 sounds much better than that M8 that resembles a Singer Sewing Machine
@@DeBa1226
That's the scissor gear in them (M8s).
103 twin can motor has 2 valves per pot 4 in total,
107 Milwaukee 8 is 8 valves per pot 8 in total.the Milwaukee 8 motors have a better air cover on them for sucking in air.
PS all Harleys are nice no matter what.
not until cams and heads. then they are fun
Well the truth depends on the rider how experienced on racing but yes 107 has more power but still 103 still has balls
Nice comparison. It’s basically what people want to know. Good job with this one
I dig the VRSCB in the background. I always loved that obnoxious orange.
Not much difference, I just put S&S 585 bolt in cams in my 2012 103 Streetglide, gained 35hp and close to 30ftlbs of torque, and it woke the 103 up!!! Complete power! I just wish I would have done it a long time ago!!

HDstreetshark it gains sound :) a little bit better fuel consumption but you’re spot on.
Great apples to apples comparison. Excellent video!!!
You got that right my stock 107 road glide would have ran him down

103 vs 107 if 103 is paid off stick with it. Now if we are comparing 114 vs 103 then upgrade to the 114 it’s a beast. I went from a 96 to the 114 and holy crap totally worth the upgrade!!!
I agree..
Twin cam sounds a hell of alot better than a M8.
mr2bmw they definitely do a m8 needs a cam
M8 has that scissor gear. That's why it sounds like a Honda. Even with aftermarket pipes and cams. I remember when everyone said no to the evo after the sound of the shovel. Then the twinkie came out and they missed the evo sound. To this day i think the evo with 1.75 drag pipes sound the best. But again, sound is subjective.
I have a 103 and its been great. If the 107 is as good as it thats a good motor.
Motors are electric. These are engines.
Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years!!!!
Both bikes are stage 1. Stage 2 requires com upgrade. With a tune of course.
I’d like to see what a Stage II TC 103 could do v a stock M8 114.
Really there are many other variables to consider like gearing, belt drive sprocket sizes to name a couple. Best way to test is factory stock to factory stock. IMHO. But 103 to 107 is not that much.
Whatever the manufacturer is selling currently will dramatically change you life forever, same for next years version.
Just picked up a 13' dyna wide glide with V&H pipes, SE heavy breather intake, and SE cams, runs awesome, may do the S&S 110 kit in the future

I got a 103 that won’t run out of steam! Hell it just starts really digging about 110, I love making the new m8 guys upset 😆
If you're running out of power at 65 you'd better get it looked at or you're doing it wrong.

I thought stage 2 was cam change?
Stage 1 is just AC . The D&D with a dyno session is a big improvement over stock settings the FM MAP. Is just a starting point get them dyno tuned properly and you will see better gains with a tuner. My stock 15 RGS HO 103 was making 101 hp and 100 tq with the proper fuel tuner and dyno session with a D&D.
Stage 2 is cam work by HDs website, he's just got a stage 1.
Both bikes have stage 1 mods, sorry about that..
It is.
Dale Mullens somebodies Dino is very generous. A stock 107 is about 80hp. No way only cams will give the kind of increase you claim.

I’ve got a 2014 special 103 with a turbo! She scats!!!
All Harley’s are great but the M8 differance 107 and the Twincam 103 is is remarkable!

Plus, there is the little detail of me saying I didn't care if it was actually cooler, I didn't say I didn't care it it was actually hotter.
Great bikes though both of em,brothers from the 313 know the good stuff!
I’ll stick with my stage 2 Dyna Street Bob, thank you. Cams are in the near future.
A man of impeccable taste. There is nothing fina' than a Dyna!
@Brandon Jensen What did you end up getting?
I never heard about what tuner you used all I heard was
Fuel-Moto. Or did you use a different ECM like the Zippers ThunderMax?
I enjoy cruising 2012 street glide! I traded my street bike for a reason? To enjoy the ride on the glide.
great vid i recently purchased 107 i love it but a 103 prob would have been ok too but since i was gonna bit the bill and pay the HD tax i got the newest i could afford
