People sleep on the Twin Cam 103 capabilities. I have a built 103 and when I tell you it runs hard, that’s an understatement. 114s with cams don’t even concern me. No cap, my boy got a 131 cammed and he jumped on me but i reeled him in once I hit 2nd gear and pulled away from him. When we made it to the next light his eyes was wide open and had to give my bike props. Don’t sleep on what a 103 can be. Mines is fully built, but it’s still a true 103. Your dad bike looks amazing too! I’m happy for him.

I "hated" my stock 2013 Ultra Limited engine and suspension. I ride in the mountains of New Hampshire, and the lack of early torque combined with a poor suspension made the motorcycle perform at a scale of 6 out of 10. I went with the S&S 551 cams, but I love Zippers products and would have chosen the 525. I picked up 20 ft pounds of torque starting at 2,000 RPMs. I also went with Ohlins front and rear. I now score my motorcycle at a 9 out of 10. As a bonus, the tune and cam also reduced the heat felt by my passenger and me. Worth every hard-earned dollar.

I have a Fueling 525 in an 88 Dyna with a stock CV 40. It's great to hear someone mention that the Dyna chassis has limits.
I have twin disc on the '99 FXDL and the suspension is well sorted but there's no point going further.
Clutch is uprated and starts to feel heavy after an hour or so.
Also the 525 with Vance and Hines straight shots makes my ears ring for days even with full face and eye plugs.

WOW! That is a low amount of miles. The reliability upgrades were done to get my dad's bike to your bike's low mileage condition. Some of the parts replaced like lifters are serviceable parts that wear from use. Since it is a 2015, you will have the good parts in your engine. You will probably only need the Red Shift RS525 and a tuner.

I was able to ride my dad's bike to Milwaukee and I never needed to come out of 6th gear to pass anything. All the other was done because my dad never had any work done to the bike and we had no clue of the condition of his serviceable parts.

Put a high lift cam in and it sounds like a toolbox being tossed around in the back of a pickup truck. So that statement is untrue. There are no bushings in the rocker tray from the factory.

@@erikphillips9989 No one says I wasn’t interested. I have a Harley twin cam, and from what I’ve experienced and keep watching is the expense it takes to get these bikes to run like they are supposed to is astronomical, yet no one will actually address it. Bikes running so lean from the factory that there are people finding white pistons after a 15,000 miles rebuild. The press together crank that has runout that causes primary components to wear down much much faster and can even cause catastrophic breakdowns. There is a loss of quality here, and Harley’s are only getting more expensive. That’s why I’m talking shit. It’s just not blind.

My Dad bought the bike used. It may have already had a "Stage 1" upgrade of Air Cleaner, Exhaust and Tuning because it had slip-ons already.
