I don't know who you are. I'm a 65 yr old white man in Seattle. Your video made me emotional and that's good shit. I hope you know that everyone would love to have a son like you. God is great! Thanks for making this happen. Best money ever spent. Your friend and fellow Harley Davidson rider!
That’s was mighty kind of you, this is how a father son relationship should be, Traveling Tall told me about your channel, I’m from Maryland too the Annapolis area. I travel to all the RUclipsr events, well the ones I like. Tall, wood jr. Robert Simmon. I too a Navy veteran GMG2 Long Beach Naval Station back in the late 90’s early 80’s. The bike is beautiful.
THANKS for your Service and compliment! I am in DC. I haven't been able to do many events and rides because I started a family right when I had my engine built. Everything is coming back together. I will be going to Daytona for Tall's Show on March 10.
God Bless you for being a loving son. I am so happy for your Dad. He is probably still in shock. Thats coming from a US Navy Reserve AE VP 65 Pt Mugu CA. Airman 1979 Greg Valdez. I hope my three sons stumble across this video Ha Ha
Thank you! Yes, he is still in shock and rides it everyday the weather permits. Thank you for your Service. Oh, you can always send them the video link 😂
Heartwarming what you did for your Pop. He’ll love it. I’m 72 and did the same thing to my 12 FLHTK last spring. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the performance, and the TC sound like Harleys, especially with a header and Twin Slash Rounds. I’ve got the same set up as your Dad’s except I have a Wood TW222 cam.
Thanks! He LOVES it! If it is not raining, he is riding. He even rides to church on some Sundays. On other Sundays, he rides when he gets home. 😂 Oh yeah! His buddies think he did more to his bike because it sounds so AWESOME! Yeah, there aint much you have to do to a 103 to improve the performance.
The book tells us to honor our mother and father you will truly be blessed Larry I lost my father five years ago this brought a tear to my eye. I already pray for you and your family by name today you get a extra prayer from me loved one wooooooooo weeeeeee yes gotta love it
That's so awesome you did this for your Dad and fellow shipmate. I was Navy too for 20 years. I'm kinda like your Dad too and started riding late at 50. That's a beautiful bike and may God continue to bless you for doing this!
Bro God Bless you for honoring your Dad in this manner.👏🏾👍🏽. Wow what I would do if I could’ve just rode with my late Father, who didn’t make it to 70😔. Enjoy the Blessing of your Dad and Salute to your Dad. Nice Bike 💯💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks TALL! I appreciate it. Zipper's definitely did an awesome job and woke up my Dad's bike. He is down in Savannah knockin' off stock Milwaukee-Eights! 😂🤣🤣
I lost my Dad in September 2022, this had me in tears. As soon as you asked about his Naval service the Bike's inspicame together for me. You are a very good man.
My condolences... Thank you. We live 500 miles apart, but I try to spend as much time with him as possible. My goal is to go on some road trips with him on our bikes to make up for all the years he missed riding.
Man you are a inspiration. I have dreamed of doing this for my dad since I was a young boy. It 44 I'm finally getting to were I might be able to pull it off. I wish there were more people on this planet like you, you are a prime example of someone to aspire too be like. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.
It was an honor and pleasure to see you with this bike in Black Bike Week at Traveling Tall's Bike Show. Then again at King of The Baggers. I didn't know the paint 🎨 was from you. That gives it even more reverence. Hats 🎩 off to you brother. SKWID Rider's Shipmate ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy,Ret. 2020 Fat Boy "Killmonger" 2021 Road Glide "SilverBAK"
The funny part is that he just looked at the bike for almost an hour before he heard it run.😂 Yeah... It was a pretty cool feeling considering he lives so far away and we only got a chance to ride together once.
Wow, as I watched this with tears rolling down my face, is great to see someone else walking in my shoes. Your dad reminds me of my dad he too served in the Navy. My dad served onboard USS LYMAN K. SWENSON from 1969-1971. My dad bought his first motorcylce which was a 2011 Tri Glide Ultra Classic. He bought it in 2018 and he loved it. He did not ride a lot it had 14,681 miles on it, it has 14,931 on it now. I never cared for motorcycles I am a car man, Mustangs in particular. I just lost my dad in July 2024, he was 75 and he decided in March of this year he wasn't going to ride anymore due to health concerns. Since January 2024 I would go and follow behind him as he rode his trike just to make sure no one would rear end him as he would pop the clutch and stall at take off sometimes. So every Sunday I would go over and follow him around the neighborhood just a 3 mile ride. It was sad to hear him say he wasn't going to ride anymore because the joy it gave him was immeasurable. Knowing how much these Bikes cost, I told him to sell it and enjoy his money. He said no I will leave it for you and you can sell it or do what you want. I told him I would never sell it because it was a bond we had. The last time I rode a motorcyle it was a race bike, my friend had a Ducati, I was 20 I'm 50 know. After Pops passed in July I rode his bike for the first time. I cried the whole time because 1. it was pops bike and all I could remember is following him. 2. I finally realized what he felt when he rode it. The feeling of freedom and the open rode, I did not understand it until I was on it riding. I took the Harley Davidson motorcycle course and recieved my riding license. I have a lot to learn about the culture and care and maintenance of the trike and the twin cam engine. Thanks for the video and It's great to see how you honor your dad as I honor mine.
Much obliged... My condolences. Yeah, my dad got started late. I convinced him to buy a bike just before he retired. He was considering buying/building another hotrod Mopar. Now he loves riding. He had a stroke back in June of last year just before he and I were supposed to ride to Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson's 120th anniversary. I ended up riding his bike to Milwaukee. Fast forward, we had an awesome year since then. My dad and I were a part of Harley's 2024 model launch. I have a few videos about the experience here on my channel. Look for the "Daytona bikeweek videos" and "1000 mile Milwaukee video." Also, GOOGLE: "Harley-Davidson Boiled Peanuts" Thanks for sharing your story. Please ride his bike as long as you can. I don't know what part of the world you're in, but I hope to meet and ride with you.
Watched this video last night, can’t tell you how moving that was bro to see the work put in to your dad’s gift. My pops got me into riding, and reminisce often how much fun I had rolling with him. Miss the guy every day. Keep riding with your pops as often as possible, you’ll never regret those times together. Hey, you hit me up on Tall’s Live the other night with Adam at Zippers around upgrading an 88ci to Zippers 107 Muscle kit (that was my Q to Adam). I watched your build, I think you did exactly that? 88 to Muscle 107? I was hoping to hear that bike outside after the build, and hear it get down the road. Did I miss such a video? I’ve got an M8 too, but focusing on my 2002 Softail Deuce I want to wake up with that 107 Muscle. For a 692lb bike, that upgrade should be plenty, yet rideable. Thoughts bro?
1 1/2 year ago my son bought me 2005 harley road king beautiful bike,,an love it,,we been doing alot of riding,,never dreamed it would happen but it did,,good times,,he has 01 heritage softail ,,I put S&S big bore kit on his 509 cams an ported his heads,,I never dreamed riding a bike was so relaxing,,an enjoyable an a wonderful way to spend time together,,
