I toggle between wheelin my 1:1 built lifted jeep and my 1:10 crawlers. I get miles of walking/running over hilly terrain just chasing my 1:10 crawlers and it's been the best form of exercise I actually look forward to. Great video and filming. It was fun to watch while enjoying my morning coffee.
Thank you so much for the comment; it helps a lot! Yes, I certainly enjoy a simple hike, but I really like bringing my crawlers. It adds to the exercise and sparks a lot of great conversations along the way!! :) I hope to get a 1:1 off-roader some day!
Thanks FTDT!! Patience is the key! I actually just realized that I made an error in my video. The white stock I used is actually a Cricut Explore vinyl stock, NOT paper stock. The bright white vinyl allowed me to use white as a background and for white text; colors showed up vibrant as well. The clear stock is also a Cricut product; however, I could not print anything with a white background or text. Therefore, I placed those on the white sections of the body. Both stock mediums are compatible with inkjet printers. Once the decals were printed, I sprayed both stocks with matte clear to seal the decals and enhance them with UV protection. After I cut and applied them to the body, I sprayed another final coat of matte clear to blend the decals to the body so that they didn't feel so "raised". If I print more decals in the future, I will probably just use the bright white vinyl stock since this offers the most utility; plus it is more flexible than the clear stock, so they can be applied to contours as well.
Thanks a lot! I think I'll visit the area again. Since the ground was so soft I imagine the terrain changes due to rain / weather, so it might be a new challenge every time! :)
Thank you!! I wanted to keep the logos tasteful and relevant. My favorite is the SEGA decal. I was a fan when I was a kid, and they always had great rally driving games, so I figured it was appropriate. :)
Thanks 👍 Yes, I love the combination with the 4Runner body. I purchased the wheels from #INJORA, and the beadlock rings were generic from Amazon or eBay. They're likely #INJORA, as well. :)
Glad you like it and thanks for the comment! I tried the typical big bumpers on this rig when I first got it, but I just couldn't get any front end clearance on steeper approaches, so the "bumper" that's on it now is just the mounting plate for the bigger bumper I had removed. It's low profile and barely noticeable, so it's not only functional, but it preserves the scale look of the body. :)
Love the video. Real speed video, scaley crawling on interesting ground and commentary. Good idea to spray the stickers; can i also matt brush the stickers after i put them on? Subscribed, looking forweard to more! :)
Thanks! Yes, I like 1:1 video speed. Slow-mo should only highlight a unique shot or passage, but I'm not critical. :) I would imagine you could brush the decals, as well, but I'm curious if it would leave subtle brush marks. (?) I added another layer of clear coat once I applied the decals to the body. The extra layer reduced the "raised" feeling of the decals. It wasn't completely level and smooth, but it looked a little more finished. THANK YOU for the SUB!!!
Sweet! I really like the PL 4Runner body; I have another clear body for a future project. :) The window armor is actually custom. I made them from some spare PVC plastic I got from some Rally Armor mud flaps for my car. I measured the windows, traced it onto the plastic, and went to town!! It's thin, lightweight, yet sturdy and looks super cool!!
I actually use an iPhone 12, no filters or enhancements. :) It does a stellar job in a wide range of lighting levels. The bright terrain on this video added to the natural brilliance, contrast, and color balance. I want to get a GoPro, but honestly, my phone does the trick. Plus it backs up to iCloud and I can download the videos straight to my editor. A dedicated camera would definitely save my phone battery, thought. LOL
Interesting question! I haven't thought about it; although, I'm not sure I would have the time at the moment. Are you asking for yourself, for a friend, or just curious?

Very clean looking. The front end and grill are super. Great run with some nice close up shots.

Ha! I didn't even notice that. Good ear!! :)
Great video 👍

You did an awesome job! I’m currently building the same body, mind if I ask where you found the window armour?

What are you using for as a camera

Do you do custom builds for $$$
