A very surprising execution for IFS. I predict we're going to see a lot of really cool builds that come out of this chassis. Nice job, Greg!
Love element rc. But my favorite truck is the original MIGHTY BLUE TRAIL WALKER
I wish they would offer IFS2 on an exchange program for those of us with IFS1. Similar to the Reedy electronics exchange program. I spent way too much money making our IFS1 acceptable but it's still so far from being ideal.
It was quite a letdown when my kid was driving our brand new Trail Runner and got so frustrated as it was snagging every little thing on a hiking path that he didn't want to drive it anymore. He was only 3 at the time and even then knew it was crap! After many mods and adjustments he now likes it.
Not only great RC reviews but I have also found some great hiking spots from your channel. Thanks so much- I'll check out this park soon.
This is the hill next to the parking lot. Kind of a smaller space where you use your imagination to have fun on the rocks. The park also has walking trails, I’ve never journeyed out to see what’s beyond my filming spot. Happy to help!
I hope they make a kit version soon! Oddly satisfying and perfect for sleeper builds 👍🏻
Absolutely. Nobody makes kits anymore...it's all RTRs, and I do NOT need another transmitter to toss in the bin. Also, that body suuuuucks. I can't see past those A pillars.
Great review! I can see the body growing on people with a 3d printed grill and some badges on the back of the tailgate. Just your sticker job out back helped a lot for me.
I’ve always been a fan of the Trailrunner and it’s IFS, can’t wait to get my hands on the updated version.
Cool RC,😃 great offroad adventure, awesome video❗✨👍
Comp stance activated. Great video
I just started working out regularly to improve my Comp Stance. 🤣 Thanks!
Hope the kit come soon and with a 2 speed transmission
I personally am ok with the body choice. I think with a few personal touches and maybe some of the Knight Customs stuff already coming out for it, it’ll only look better. Definitely ordering this!!
Yeah, the KC accessories are pretty sweet and really change the look for the better.
Hopefully the trailrunner body fits it
Excellent review Greg, thank you! You provided a great breakdown of the IFS2 and the other significant details...and threw in some nice running footage to-boot...this is the look at the truck I was after, superb
Happy to hear the video helped!
All it needs is a Hummer H3T Body. They look way better then the Gladiator. Then element RC could have had an original licensed body released. Vs a fj cruiser with a truck bed lol. The H3T had an optional v8 and 4 to 1 transfer case and front and rear locking diffs from the factory. It would have been the perfect body for this rig. ELEMENT RC are you listening?
You are the first one to cover the steering in detail. The body is a bit odd, but I am glad they went with something different.
The steering design is very interesting, it needed to be seen in detail. I do appreciate the effort to give us a unique body. The more I look at the KC version, the more it grows on me.
The sliding steering rack reminds me of my old AE TC-3
Oh! Good call there, I agree.
The higher front clearance, taller tires, and front inner fenders are all bonuses over the IFS1 TrailRunner/KnighRunner, but you did point out other places where they cut costs to keep the MSRP down. Plus that body... oof. The front fascia looks good but the rest looks under-detailed and very generic.
But hey, I guess the more "Toyota" RCs there are, the better!
Agreed!
Love watching your videos from Australia and have to mention we never got an FJ Cruiser Ute in Australia. We only got limited supply of the FJ Cruiser SUV too. They're worth more than new now!
Love it! Can't wait to try the new IFS. This thing is an oddball for what we're used to from the company that makes the Ecto but I think that's awesome! Ordered.
Looks pretty nimble on those rocks. That extra clearance looks helpful.
I can't wait to try out the new ifs. I have the older versions and they do pretty good.
I wonder if you could slice the cab right off and make it open cockpit, like the good old Axial Deadbolt.
Element is by far the best chassis there is
Nice thorough review! Appreciated. I love this rig.
Thank you!
I like the new IFS2. Much better ground clearance than the first gen. The body is "eh" to me, but its the same wheelbase as the Knight Runner (Tacoma), so buying a new body is the fix for that.
Another excellent review, Greg. Though I don't know how anybody can love that body. Maybe "stomach" that body. Those A-pillars are outrageous. I don't think you could pass a safety check with those in real life -- pedestrians would be mowed down. Kindly keep up the good work.
Lifting tires in the air just like a true IFS truck. I sold my original Knightrunner with IFS1 because of the issues associated with that v1 setup. Wonder if they will offer upgraded Knightrunner V2's with steel links and pivot balls. RTR or not I don't think plastic pivot balls are ideal in any trail/crawler in 2023...
I like that the it's has been upgraded. I'd rather have the four runner but with this new ifs setup. Do you know if I can change the body to the four runner or maybe even the enduro sport Grey trail truck?thanks for the video.🙌
How is the COG on it with the truck body?
Put the TRX sport rack on it???? Might be amazing ?
Ive been waiting so long for the v2 ifs, if the utron was a flatbed it would be better, the custom true bed is disturbing
greetings, thanks for the video, the front and rear transmissions are with or without differential ?
I really like the improved IFS suspension. The price is decent, but they made some compromises for sure to try and keep the cost down. Finally, there is no way I could handle that body, I find it very ugly.
A FJ Cruiser with a fairly deep bed, what do you want more exclusive?! Will order this nice potent rig. A question to the radio. Is it one hand drivable?
Yes, most of the up close moving shots were me driving one handed.
2 questions, can I upgrade my current ifs on my element or do I have to completely buy a new rig?
I believe I saw they will be offering a kit that will fit all Element rigs.
Front Diff already stripped 3rd Time out in my level back yard. At 66 I abuse nothing and already 80.00 in repairs.
Sooo IFS or solid axle for a trail rig.. Looking for an other trail truck and was thinking the Etco but this is sorta insteresting too.
I have been wondering do i want ifs or not
Just grabbed this for me and my son to get into Crawling in CT. Any recommendations for local group crawls?
Head up to RC Madness in Enfield. They have a group and course there.
Would wd-40 specialist dry lube work for those exposed bushings in front?
Will the recievers on these bind to the flysky gt5
I have this truck but I put another body on mine that lloked better
How many rc cars do you own bud!
I know the companies are catering mostly to the average consumer, but Element needs to loose the body clips and all rigs should have clear windows, even the cheaper ones. Seems like everybodys going backwards on that.
Hard disagree, I hate clear windows.
Man I wish people could stop mentioning Australia and this thing in the same sentence… You’d cop a load of shit if you did/drove a truck like this in OZ.
I suppose they’re allowed one miss after so man hits, right? 😂🤷🏼♂️
It wasn’t a total miss. Great platform with a shell you have to learn to love. 😂
@@rcdriver mostly just being snarky. 😜
I’m almost an Element trail truck fan boy at this point. Ha. My green ecto is a favorite!
Performs well but looks.👎🏼
Love it or hate it... Its the body that is so awful 😞
The body looks like a truck built by Elon musk. Not diggin it. 😂
True. Don’t think the silver helped lol
Great review as alway. Horrible looking truck.
It looks good on the surface, but Element RC has had some of the worst quality I have ever seen on rc cars.
The IFS on this one looks cool the rest is just a turd, plastic everywhere the body looks terrible they should have just done the full toyota body. The shocks are plastic with useless threaded bodies cause the springs dont use the threaded part of the body. I just see paying for something and having to change everything to make it better. Ive been racing team associated cars for 20 years and have bought a couple of the Element RC trucks, Ive always loved the brand, but Im not excited about this one, other than the IFS having more ground clearance.
