  • A FAST method I've developed to change headlight globes in a Mk 3 Clio. I also upgraded to LED globes and did a full temperature and current test, comparing to the 55 watt OEM halogen globes.

    Thank you for posting this video! I genuinely got a buzz from doing this task independently 😅

    Cheers for the video! The last time i attempted to do a bulb change the retaining spring fell down into the headlight assembly, lol.

    That's great. Just watched a vid. before yours, the guy took nearly half the car to bits to do that. Cheers from England.

    Did mine today the side lights and it was an absolute ******** to do. Took me an hour to do 😂😂 and successfully managed my 10 mil socket to Narnia, never to be seen again 🤦🏿‍♂️.
    Least I've got fully functioning lights now after all that.

      Sorry to hear this. Not sure why you needed a 10 mm socket. This is now my 3rd globe change and I've refined this method - it was a horror show the first time, but I found my method has each side done in under 15 minutes.

      Nah don't be sorry man it's cool. I followed the video following things. Least I've got functioning lights 🤣

      Thanks, how are the HID's temperature wise? I plan to upgrade the cheap 'test' LED's to a higher wattage unit and am concerned about temperature in the headlight enclosure.

      @@pescado99 I have no idea on temperature but i believe they came as standard on the car (197) so I'm guessing it's all safe. I've had it 7 or 8 years and never had a problem so 🤷

    • @pescado99
      @pescado99  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it's a pain all right. If you pull the reservoir backwards (removing the little plastic pin plug - which will pop out), you get a few more cm to work in.

      @@pescado99 Handy tip, once the plastic clip is removed you can pull the funnel out completely. It's just a push fit back into the main bottle 🤟

    Very handy video, thanks! What is the wire in front of the rubber cap at the beginning?

    • @pescado99
      @pescado99  4 месяца назад +1

      I'm not sure. It's obviously part of the factory wiring harness. Quick update, 5 months later and these el-cheapo LED's are still going strong!

      @pescado99  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, these are ones I bought: www.ebay.com.au/itm/404320360130 They are OK, but not nearly as bright as advertised. Basically they're better than the OEM 55w halogen, but not by much. I'm planning on buy some more 'proper' LED globes for the Clio and will post when done. Cheers

      I recently bought and older Clio that's why stumbled over your video. Nice video. Cheers mate.
