The Motivx MX2023-US oil filter cap wrench is a less expensive option and, in my opinion, can't be beat. Comparing 5:30 to 6:14 shows that your new filter seems to be shorter than the old one. To me that indicates that you somehow ended up with the wrong filter. If the filter element is too short inside the housing all the oil will bypass the filter. Not good. Nevermind, I see later in the video that your caught this and corrected it. 👍 Good video...
My engine sounds the same..I took it to lexus and paid 180 bucks for them to diagnose (they had their expert listen to it) and said its just how these sound. Most expensive coke I've ever bought.
Noticed that the VSC light is on (I know) any chance you can make a video to address some of the do it yourself fixes for the most common issues that cause these lights to go on ( I know about the gas cap one) much appreciated.
When living in year round climate exceeding 28 deg C, is a 10W-40 grade a better balanced choice than the 5W-30; the wix filter is also said to be quite good for this range of vehicles, buying from walmart is this WIX Oil Filter 57047 the correct one?
My oil filter housing is on there super tight. The car has been sitting for like 10 months so I guess that's why it's so tight. I stripped my oil filter wrench trying to break it loose. Any suggestions? I always do my oil changes and didn't expect this to give me such a hard time.
Is your oil filter housing cap made out of aluminum? Did you use a steel filter wrench like the one I have linked in the bottom of the video. That should easily break it free and not strip it out. Good luck man, I hope you can get it sorted out.
@@JDMRightHandDrive Yes it's aluminum. I have a 06 is250. I bought the same filter wrench that you linked. It didn't work. I went to Jiffy Lube so they could loosen it which they did with no problem. Then I changed the filter at home. I think it's because they had so much room to get a breaker bar and get it off. The car was sitting for about a year so that probably made it super tight. Thank you for the advice.
Hey just wondering what that checks vsc light means and should it be taken seriously? The same light and text popped up on my 06 and idk if i should be worried or not. I was told that sometimes the engine light may pop on bc of the gas cap
My car was in a frontal accident before I bought it and repaired. However the ECU housing was cracked and moisture had gotten to the ECU board and slowly caused it to go haywire. All of my dash light were cause by my faulty ECU, which eventually shorted out completely and my car would not even start anymore. I did a little research about the VCS light on the IS250 and from what I remember the forums talked about carbon build up on the intake system and sensors needing to be cleaned. Good luck and thanks for watching.
@@JDMRightHandDrive I was going to comment you should do a carbon clean out on it and that should help that noise. I need to do that on my daughters car as well. Good video thanks!
Very helpful. Good job. I've watched 10-15 videos, this was the best. Used this as I changed it for the first time.
It is amazing how you can do all the work in a 2 car garage.... well organized... Excellent....
Good video man
Thanks Chris, I appreciate that.👍

Stick with the recommended grade.
@@njsongwriter the recomended grade changed from 5w30 to 5w20 while the engine remained unchanged, the reason? Company emissions targets.

Good Job gentlemen....Amen.
Thank you so much!
I see that you have the illuminated emblem… What did you wire it to? Did you just splice into the headlight?
Is the oil fully synthetic?
Yes it is full synthetic.
That much oil I thought only 6.7 quarts
$300?
$300 for an oil change? Wtf
Yeah, kind of expensive.
It’s only $80 at the dealership over by me NJ
