My favorite part of this video is your disclaimer that you don't need to spend real money while you have the little overlay of all of the massive savings people can get with ships.
I agree the irony there is high. In reality if you've clicked on the video, you know what you are getting in for. So I still think it's important to drill home, especially to a younger democratic who statistically are more impulsive with their spending habits.
@@MasterBen10 Nah I get it. It just made me laugh. I always tell people the same shit. Don't need to spend more than $45 and there is potentially even more fun if you work your way up from the bottom.
@@Psychobob I agree really, without the excitement of working for a new ship, I'm not sure what else there it to work for (at least in the current game).
Also a ship you work for will feel far more valuable in my opinion
@@MasterBen10 Just to offer an alternative view/opinion to consider. There are those who may not have the time to dedicate to earning a ship in-game due to real life time constraints. So, buying it with real money is valuable because they work for them irl and that will let them spend their time playing how they really want to.
@@tunstavern5838 Very well said, so this is actually the reason I purchase ships for SC. If you have been following my upload schedule you will see that free time is very rare for me, so being able to purchase my 'dream ship' is wonderful. With this being said, I do believe that putting blood sweat and tears into grinding for a ship could make it feel more valuable, at least from my experience in other games.
The intro to this video was perfect. Nicely done mate
Thanks! Looking back my microphone sounded awful but it did the job
So one thing I like using the CCU Game App is for finding items in the store. It's a sad truth that right now the CCU Game has a better interface to the pledge store than the RSI website itself.
That's such a great point, I wish the rsi website didn't flash bright white between pages to.
Note: wait till the day that all ships are for sale at the same time, this will create your largest savings chain.
Very very good advice!
Which day is this? Is this during the "Event Finale" ?
@@FreeFragUK This will be the event Finale phase. But I cannot remember if it took place for 24 or 48 hours
Just to let you know, CIG has announced that the daily warbonds will not return at the end. Instead, there will be different warbonds on the last day. So if you like a warbond, buy it on the day. My big suggestion, then is to plan your CCU chains beforehand (or at least have a rough idea of what you want)

Remember citizens, the best way to save money is by not spending money 😂
That still is the best way!
Very useful, I’m looking forward to building up my chain to the Apollo.
If it isn’t too much I may also grab the CCU from a released ship to the new galaxy if it becomes available.
Thanks Mike, I hope you get a great discount on the Apollo. As someone who doesn't look at leaks / ptu for iae, I have zero clue what the galaxy is. Looking forward to finding out soon!!
@@MasterBen10 Connie’s big brother, and yeah I’m doing real well on it so far. I’m at a Vulture for $10 (or $60 if you count gift cards as your money) built off of an Argo Cargo referral bonus.
You should show once you buy them how to do apply each chain within the rsi hangar and make sure it takes the ship you started from originally and not the last most recent ship it just upgraded from. That is was confuses things for me.
Very good video, I subbed! You may not reach 1k by 2023, but I hope that won’t discourage you from producing easy, understandable and quality guides!🐼 happy 2023
Thank you so much for the support, we didn't hit 1k, but it will happen soon enough. Fingers crossed, there will be plenty of videos over the coming months :)
Very good and informative video MasterBen :)
I have just shared this with a couple of newcomers to SC
I really like and appreciate your very honest and open approach of explaining that the best way of "saving" money, is to not use any ;)
Thanks Mark I really appreciate you sharing my video!
I think it's important just to remind people this game isn't meant to coast $300+ once you've purchased some ships.
Literally been using this app for over a year and it saved me a hefty chunk on my Perseus and Polaris
That's great to hear! I absolutely love this tool
This app has been a mainstay for me since it was a Chrome extension, it's been super useful and I've saved a ton with it
I'm really glad to hear that!
Saved 😂😂😂
@@darielchang5302 technically if you always intended on purchasing something, regardless of its cost. You have saved money using this tool, yes you've still spent cash overall, just less of it.
@@darielchang5302 I would have spent over a thousand more dollars without the app than I ended up spending with it, definitely worth the free price tag
I'm about to start the game and bought a Cutter starting package and 3 stand alone Cutters all for their LTIs... Can I directly upgrade a Cutter to a 600i Explorer???
Welcome to the verse, I hope you used a referral code (terrible plug im sorry xD)
So technically, yes, you could. The 600i isn't on sale right now and won't be until the invictus launch week in May/ June 2023. With that being said, I would recommend trying to add warbond CCU's (as shown in the video) to lower the price.
Hope this helps!
"How to get the best savings in Star Citizen"
> Wait for the 1.0 Full release ;)
Haha very true!
Good video pal, I'll give you a sub, if I could advise you though, try make your speech delivery less robotic and more natural. Makes it more engaging so information sinks in more!
Thanks Nathan! Yeah I really noticed my speech in this video was a tad off. Will definitely work on it for next time :)
The entire idea behind this is a little scary and daunting, so thank you for showing it and clarifying how it all works.
No problem at all! I really hope this helps. If you need any advice during IAE feel free to reach out
This is missing information on buying actual CCU's over time to build up wb savings. Such as during the current IAE the wb is only available per day for that manufacturer save Drake, and new ships (C8R/Corsair).
If you buy say 300i to Cyclone MT warbond ccu (You don't need to already own the 300i) then you have that "token" for only $5 (wb that needs only $5 of real money).
If yesterday you got Harbinger to Mole ccu for $5 of "new" money, then you also have that token.
Defender to corsair ($5 wb) then at the end of IAE once you have all the $5 wb's saved up you create your chain then after all the wb's have come and gone.
THEN you create your chain.
Just doing create chain at any given moment using only what is available on the store at the moment can save "some" money, but real savings are done buying $5 ccu's over time, and applying them when the entire chain is available.
Another trick is using spare store credit to buy good CCU's for concept ships with STORE CREDIT (since they aren't wb you can use store credit) on the basis that the price will increase over time.
An example of that is Razor to SRV -- Cutlass Red to Vulture -- Hurricane to Vulcan -- each of which are $5 store credit purchases. I mean, what else are you going to do with store credit? Buy ships at full price? Pft.
Love the first minute!
Thanks!
You are telling me i can buy a digital spaceship that doesn't exist yet other than in the form of a .jpg on a site for ONLY 350$?!?!?! WOAH! WHAT A BARGAIN!!!
Absolute bargain get two
Amazing, brilliant, astonishing.
Thank you so much!
It's not working for me for some reason. It just tells me to CCU to the target ship directly (regardless of what ship). Not very chain like :-/
Hey Cam, thanks for letting me know. If you jump on the discord linked in the description (frontier consolidated) and dm me (Masterben10) I will gladly take a look for you.
So..... I type in the web address in another tab after logging in and get an infinite loading screen. Cant even make it to the "login" screen.
That just because of IAE or because the thing isnt working? (Mozilla browser)
This, may be because that browser isn't supported, if you could try Firefox or chrome and let me know if it works.
@@MasterBen10 Mozilla IS firefox.....
I added it on chrome and it worked 1st time, but firefox is bugged right now for me.
Best way to save money on Star Citizen is to not spend money on Star Citizen.
Very true
For some people, the time they spend to get their ships in game is much more costly than the ticketed price.
It does feel good to really OWN the ship though as long as you don't go to far it can be a great time
I would recommend that no one buys anything from star citizen until it is on full release. Don't support these never ending 'early access' scams. FINISH THE GAME!
I think sometimes scope can be the real kicker, cig kept expanding their ideas, which has led to this time increase. That being said I am still loving the content coming, but no one is expected to purchase anything more than a starter pack. In the long run I'd argue it'll be more fun to start from small ships.
Nice job, thanks.
Thanks, I hope it helps!
ya the only wat you can get the best saving in Star Citizen is to stop playing Star Citizen and spending money on it too is how you can save the most money from it
Yep very true
@MasterBen. So, I noticed your channel has a picture of an RSI Scorpius. Is your next "Meet the ......" video going to be the Scorpius?
Oooo good catch! Unfortunately in this case thats just a coincidence. The next video should (should) be on the hammerhead
@@MasterBen10 Looking forward to seeing the video on the hammerhead. It was definitely a fun ship to bring to Xenothreat, Jumptown, and the Stolen Idris mission.
I am happy to see some of my ccus
Some truly amazing savings!
If I don’t spend then I will have to wait 10 years to earn it when the game comes out 😂
That's a very interesting way of looking at it xD
I've been doing this manually but took a look at my savings with this app and was around 40-55% on most ships including ones I'm still baking waiting for something to jump to, Hull C/D/Gemini (with ccu's from gemini to hull D/endeavor waiting as well)
That's still really impressive savings. I have far too many spreadsheets from when I did this manually
You forgot the Discord link, lol.
Oh gosh my mistake! Will add that in now
I purhcased my one and ONLY pledge ship. I will buy the rest in game. Not wasting more $$ for no reason.
Well said Kevin!
By playing something else. :)
Haha that works to!
Star Citizen + saving money= does not compute
It definitely feels that way!
is it safe and legit?
I would say so, its been used by roughly 12,000 accounts over chrome and Firefox. The joy is you don't actually give it any account details, it just reads your hanger through the extension. As for the savings, this is just helping you use the ccu's on CIGs site. All in all I personally trust it
The cheapest price is to just not buy anything.
100% agreed
You are a fool if you spend any more than you would on a normal game for this 11 year tech demo. This game doesn't work half the time, and your expected to spend ridiculous amounts of money on the stuff that wont work when you get it. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time money and frustration. Play something else.
That's certainly an option many should follow. But alas, some what to support this game and therefore they should get the best bang for their buck from space pixels
Been playing for hours more than I ever imagined. Spent like 70$ not only to get in and play but actually support the project as I understand what they are doing aint easy at this scale.
Very nice guide ty ! ;)
Thanks Terror, glad you like it!
Don't give these liars your money, remember "answer the call 2016"?
Soon tm
