“Why do divers always drop into the water backwards?” Because if they fell foreword they would land into the boat. Just a little diver humor. Keep up the good work Jay!
Is Jay going to take Steve out Burbot fishing this winter? Thats something I'd like to see. Mr. Rinella try to put his old man wisdom to the test against Mr. Canada himself.
Every Musky my father or I caught when I was a young teen in the early and mid 70's while vacationing at Lake Kabetogema was boatside. Was always a blast watching the fish chase the lure to the boat. Enjoyed the episode. Brought back good memories...
Sitting here holding my newborn I think those fish are bigger than he is! Yall be safe this holiday and from everyone here at Fort Hood, Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone! Please congratulate Jay and his beautiful wife Sam as they are expecting next year!!! God bless both of you! Love these episodes!
I LOVE beachcombing reservoirs across the midwest. On reservoirs where irrigation drawdown impacts them, there are LOADS of treasures to be found. Especially if there is a stocked walleye population, one can really fill out a tackle box or two!
Amazing! Jay remember that conversation when you and Aaron came to grab some things from figure 8 and we chatted in the Safeway parking lot? You guys were headed to Lac Seul to film Muskies. I remember telling you that you did the right thing not going to school for photography, when you mentioned you weren’t sure if you did the right thing. I said it then and I’ll say it again the only reason you need to go to school is to be the teacher my friend!
Very cool. 4:10 perfectly summarizes a smallmouth's demeanor.. It still takes a second to grab a bite even though you guys are all over it. Also, to 'choose' one specific bait at the start of the day and catch your target fish with it is something that simply doesn't happen very often..especially when it comes to muskies! Well done, pal!
Thanks to The whole Meat Eater Group!Putting Jay it to the Channel is As Great as DosBoat and the Other New Platforms. MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE TIP OF THE MITTEN 1
Merry Christmas Jay and Happy New Year Sam. Keep up the unique content! I have never even seen a Muskie when fishing in Northern Ontario, what a treat.
I have been following Jay since the beginning, awesome to see his fishing and film skills being recognised. This really was an amazing watch. Loved it! I enjoyed Das Boat, but it was a little cliche and gimmicky, some proper angling content was well over due.
I'm super stoked for spring Walleye in Saskatchewan as it is and every week I get a bit more excited. 132 days to go until I get back on open spring water. Great episode, just wish they were longer!
The old school Mepps caught everything for me in my young years. Certainly my favorite for quite a few years. I hadnt picked one up for 20 years and a customer had one in his cooler. We caught 13 big Kingfish on a #4 and laughed for a couple hours. Really does catch everthing.
When I was fishing for pike in the Yukon, I made a rig out of a leader, and empty Dip can and a piece of Bacon. They go crazy for that shit!!!! Never caught more pike in my life. lol Plus they kinda dumb so that helps.
I'm sure Jay knows what he's doing but I about had a heart attack when he grabbed his rod halfway up trying to net that Musky. I've broken a rod that way, but I was probably allowing too much tension. A very enjoyable show, so often shows make it seem like the musky bites come thick and fast.
Beautiful muskie! My tackle box always has at least a couple 'found treasure' lures, it's satisfying to find & repair one . I can fool myself into believing I'm making up or ahead on the ones I've lost
Spent my summers in suoix narrows . Loved growing up on lake of the woods. Hey if you've ever heard the name captain calendar, that's my dad. He used to guide for totem way back in the day.
What an epic catch !!!! 👏 Somehow it always happens that as soon as you least expect it then boom you get bit. All of my best fish have been caught this way 🤷♂️
That was one crazy fish! We went fishing the other day and got a massive bit of sea weed… not to boost or anything but it was over a foot…. Hours of fishing that was lol great work!
This is great content. Very happy to see MeatEater get behind Jay and his Canadian perspective.
“Why do divers always drop into the water backwards?”
Because if they fell foreword they would land into the boat.
Just a little diver humor. Keep up the good work Jay!
I CANNOT wait to sat that to my dive master Marcos in Hendersonville Tennessee from Scuba Nashville. He will groan and laugh at it for sure
Is Jay going to take Steve out Burbot fishing this winter? Thats something I'd like to see. Mr. Rinella try to put his old man wisdom to the test against Mr. Canada himself.
We need this!!
Would love to see this happen!!
Lets have a great lakes tournament, Jay and Gord Pyzer vs Steve and Joe Cermele!
I’m going to start calling Jay Mr. Canada from now on.
@@doeyjiaz4798 if we could get Aaron from uncut angling in there, that’d be the event.
Really appreciate the care taken to properly handle the musker, you’re a real class act J 🤘🏻
Good to see some Canadadian wildlife on Meat Eater
Canadian??? Oh I see you mean how people say murica and butcher the country’s name because I’ve never heard of a Canadadian lmao
Every Musky my father or I caught when I was a young teen in the early and mid 70's while vacationing at Lake Kabetogema was boatside. Was always a blast watching the fish chase the lure to the boat. Enjoyed the episode. Brought back good memories...
ANOTHER sick Canadian fishing episode Jay. Merry Christmas all you fish-heads!!
Merry Christmas Jay & Sam, keep these great videos coming, bless you !
Seconded, couldnt have said it better.
That inline spinner was mine, give it back!! I was just soaking it.
Sitting here holding my newborn I think those fish are bigger than he is! Yall be safe this holiday and from everyone here at Fort Hood, Merry Christmas.
Love the scuba element. Great video.
What a cool unique video concept. So happy for you and your wife Jay. Keep up the fishing so we can watch the catching.
The fish Gods are shining on you, bonus release with a RAINBOW in the back ground. Nioce!!!
Ya new episode! Love the Canadian angle.
Merry Christmas everyone! Please congratulate Jay and his beautiful wife Sam as they are expecting next year!!! God bless both of you! Love these episodes!
Nothing beats watching meat eater on Xmas day getting ready for the day. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
For sure the ending was the icing on the cake!
Let's gooooooo! Pumped for this. Great job by meateater yet again

My extended family is on the US side of LotW and watching this series is a blast. Really cool to see it from the North of the border perspective.
Great video Jay! You played that fish well! Great job on the hunt!
These shows are the best! It's just pure fun. You gotta keep doing these. Tell Steve I said so.
Awesome video! Jay is a great videographer and story teller. Love the find and catch theme.
Only a real Northern American person really enjoys, and respects the hardwork and greatness of this content.
That rainbow at the end when you catch that Muskie is a picture perfect ending
I had to come to the comments to make sure someone pointed this out. Good work team!

Merry Christmas Sam and Jay. All the best in the New Year!
Beautiful fish at the end
Enjoying the series, Jay!

This should be good. Merry Christmas to us!
Merry Christmas Jay and Sam and ALL the best for the New Year!
This is such a clean and organic show! All of the mini series you are putting out are amazing 👏. 🍻 to a new year MeatEater.
Very cool. 4:10 perfectly summarizes a smallmouth's demeanor.. It still takes a second to grab a bite even though you guys are all over it.

Holly crap, that was incredible. I’m on my phone, but I was excited like I was fishing.
I have never even seen a Muskie when fishing in Northern Ontario, what a treat.
you know you're up North when you hear "AS IF" , so good!
I'm really enjoying the Canadian Angle. Great show.
This is the first time I've seen a musky landed. Very cool.
What a great episode! Good to have Jay on the MeatEater crew. What a legend.
So good, any long time angler has been wet, cold and tired and then…one bite and bam! None of that matters.
I had to stand up during the musky fight. Perfect Christmas gift. Thanks Jay!
I have been following Jay since the beginning, awesome to see his fishing and film skills being recognised. This really was an amazing watch. Loved it!
I enjoyed Das Boat, but it was a little cliche and gimmicky, some proper angling content was well over due.
Well Done! Love your videos. Merry Christmas to you and Sam.
Super episode! Thanks
Really like the collaboration. Maybe Steven should be a part of the fishing tournament next year
Hi from Syracuse NY USA everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year everyone
Merry Christmas guys keep up the good content
Merry xmas to all! May the squeaky snow lead you to big catches!
That was cool at 4:08 when the smallie was swimming away from you and then said, “wait! food!” (Chomp). Then took off.
had no idea some meateater crew were in my backyard! NW Ontario is natures gods country
Great Episode Jay! Best yet. Had me hooked until the very end. Pun intended
Outstanding
That was freaking awesome !!
my wife and I were here cheering with you when you caught it .
You almost lost that fish , I know how you felt in those moments haha but you dident great job brother !!!
Great video Jay !
I'm super stoked for spring Walleye in Saskatchewan as it is and every week I get a bit more excited. 132 days to go until I get back on open spring water. Great episode, just wish they were longer!
I’ve been at 24:31 so many times trying to net donkey walleyes by myself on Erie hahaha
The old school Mepps caught everything for me in my young years. Certainly my favorite for quite a few years. I hadnt picked one up for 20 years and a customer had one in his cooler. We caught 13 big Kingfish on a #4 and laughed for a couple hours. Really does catch everthing.
Can I like this twice? I was so relieved when you finally got that Muskie netted. Amazing content, Jay. Lights out what you do for fishing content.
Jays my favorite in the meateater family
When I was fishing for pike in the Yukon, I made a rig out of a leader, and empty Dip can and a piece of Bacon. They go crazy for that shit!!!! Never caught more pike in my life. lol
Plus they kinda dumb so that helps.
Sweet! Very nicely done. Fun to watch.
He missed my bait haha good one Jay
Making me all hungry and then throwing all the fish back in the water.. 😂
You had me super stressed there when you were trying to net it. Merry Christmas to you, Sam, Judy, Rudy, and the little bun in the oven!
I went fishing for muskie fishing only once in my life on the St. Lawrence. My late father was with me and I actually caught a 50 incher. Super lucky.
Musky was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
Jayyyyy! Boss Hog!
Love the Canadian Angle!
Great stuff
This made me proud to be a Canadian; way to go J
I'm sure Jay knows what he's doing but I about had a heart attack when he grabbed his rod halfway up trying to net that Musky. I've broken a rod that way, but I was probably allowing too much tension. A very enjoyable show, so often shows make it seem like the musky bites come thick and fast.
Good for jay, love his channel, love the meateater show.
yaaaa buddy! nice work Jay
Great stuff!
Endlessly entertaining. Wish this was 2 hours long
What a musky!
Beautiful muskie! My tackle box always has at least a couple 'found treasure' lures, it's satisfying to find & repair one . I can fool myself into believing I'm making up or ahead on the ones I've lost
Musky at the end of the rainbow.
No pressure there at all.
Love seing Jay on meat eater
Spent my summers in suoix narrows . Loved growing up on lake of the woods. Hey if you've ever heard the name captain calendar, that's my dad. He used to guide for totem way back in the day.
My dad has a cabin near Minaki. I often wonder how many motors and other junk is at the bottom of these lakes.
Sweet video. So much fun! I think we need some Catch and Cook. This is Meat Eater. ;)
3:24 "I was gonna eat that, Bro..."
Some of those fish might have been expats. I am basing this theory on the lack of hockey sticks or maple leaf insignias.
Jay is clearly tge best of the best
Hell of an angler right there
Good catch, that is how it is done.
What an epic catch !!!! 👏 Somehow it always happens that as soon as you least expect it then boom you get bit. All of my best fish have been caught this way 🤷♂️
Yes J you are the next BOB .
That was one crazy fish! We went fishing the other day and got a massive bit of sea weed… not to boost or anything but it was over a foot…. Hours of fishing that was lol great work!
U should do this again next summer, and fish underwater while scuba diving! It would be such a cool video
Just here to See Jay siemens
Merry Christmas all you outdoor fiends!
You need more eating at the end!! Love that you got picked up by meat eater let’s see some meat get eaten, harness the Aaron W and eat some fish!!
Well done jay.
Bad to the fishbone!
LOTW is on my bucket list.
New MeatEater and NDYakAngler on Xmas Eve? Tremendous
