As a novice film maker and fairly novice fisherman, I love the film format of videos you put out. Satisfies two of my favourite hobbies/pastimes. Awesome content 👍
Hey, Ben: I fished Lac Seul twice, in 94 & 98. Didn't catch a muskie either trip but got trapped in the outhouse by a bear on the first one and blew up my outboard motor on the second one. If you ever get the chance to go, do it !!
@benstonefishing Hey, that's way cool that you got up there for work. I'm retired, but, man, I wish I'd had a job that paid me to go to Lac Seul. Good for you. Now go fish it!! As a reminder, I'll mark a L.o.T.W map for you. Though I don't know the lake section where Jay has his outpost that well. I know a few spots in his area, but I know the Sabaskong Bay area well.
For anyone that wants great trip and great hospitality give winoga lodge a call! Ton of fly in, boat in options. The mansfield family and crew are awsome down to earth kind of ppl!
Excellent video here! One of your best! Love some Lac Seul. I've only ever fished the west end, but one of these days I'll have to get east. Quick shout to the resort owner too! Camp looks great!
Watching you catch that Musky made my day Jay! Thanks for making the best videos on youtube!! Can't wait for all your Ice fishing videos, I always enjoy watching you giant northern pike videos! Keep up the amazing videos
Fantastic video and beautiful scenery. I’m actually heading for my first trip to Lac Seul June of 24. We’ll be targeting primarily Walleye. Quick question for you. I’ve heard that Lac Seul is known to be a lower unit muncher. I’m taking my boat and will have a chip for the electronics. Will that be enough to keep out of trouble? Many thanks!
Awesome job dude! I finally can say I got to experience Canadian muskie fishing for the first time. I was up on Georgian Bay and the French River and man what a freaking trip. The French we didn't connect with the monster we wanted but we only had one day so you can't really expect it. In the two days on Georgian and we lost a 50+ caught a 42.5 two casts later, got another 40 and the fattest 44.75 I've ever seen. We ended the trip with two days on St Clair where we forgot the graphs.... Got a 43in tiger a 45.5 and 48.5 leopard spotted musky it was the trip of a lifetime for me. Best part is the two Canadian fish that I caught came on a bucktail that I made myself right before the trip specifically for the trip that was an incredible feeling. Made two days throwing dbl 12s worthwhile hahaha
Heads up! I went to lake St. Clair and tried some salt water Squid baits. The musky tore them up! We were using the SAVAGE GEAR 10 inch soft plastic white with brown specks squid swim bait. We landed 14 fish for the day averaging from 20 inches to 35 inches. If someone would make that lure in a 15 inch size, the big ones would lose their minds over it! I never dreamed a saltwater lure could catch musky like that! My new favorite weapon for musky!
Musky are awesome. I recently got a 51" Length and 22" girth he ate my smallmouth during a tournament was able to get him in the boat using a med spinning rod and 10lb braid to 8lb fluoro the line never got his teeth. Was the best day ever.
THE FISHIN SHACK🤘🤘🤘♥️ LOOOOVE IT! I HAVE NEVER CAUGHT A MUSKY BUT IF I DID... THAT WOULD BE A MUST SEE VIDEO LOL. I WOULD FREAK OUT AND LOVE IT AT THE SAME TIME 😂❤😂 SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LAKE TO FISH🤘🤘♥️ I SO WANNA CATCH A MUSKY.. BUT NOT IN MY KAYAK LOL❤

I’m out 20 mins from Altona He’s in my old neighborhood NWO where I was born and raised At least the Reds behind my place but I do miss home when I see these videos
I recall seeing a similar lure to your mystery surface bait . This was back in the nineties and to many years ago to remember what it was called. Phantom Lures makes a similar twin bladed tail-rotating surface lure. If that helps. Nice muskie, Jay.
Quick safety tip If something flies out of the boat, let it go and don’t try and grab it. Easily can jerk you in the water and take a few fingers with it!
Would love to see you and glenn from 54 or bust get out together for a video! I feel like yall could put a ridiculous amount of fish in the boat with the wealth of knowledge between the two of you
Hey! I'm from Sweden and I've been fishing pike for a long time. A big thing we do here in Sweden to get the pike to strike is to retrieve the lure slowly with long pauses. I couldn't help but noticing that you guys reel in fast without pauses (?) or do you usually make pauses? If you would've been fishing for pike would you do anything different or do you use the same technique as you do for musky? I hope my question makes sense?
Musky are fast action strikers and wont usually hit a stagnant lure. Pike will sometimes hit a lot on the "fall" of the lure when you stop. Ive caught a few pike bass fishing with senkos this year lol.
@@mattewik Musky are much more curious fish and not as timid, a lot of the time musky will eat right at the boat. I think pike are genuinely scared of larger boats, as I have had a ton of pike eat by my kayak, but not actual boats.
Honoured that you're throwing my baits!!! I don't even know what to say!
Muskie Munchies make awesome lures. I would recommend to anyone!

You have to try Green Bay, more 55+ inch fish get caught outa there than anywhere else. The best Muskie fishery I’ve tried by far

I fished that lake a few years back. Didn't boat any muskies, but the walleye fishing was amazing.
Great video, beautiful shots
